  1. I agree with all that has been said here. They make laws and then make new laws to back up the old laws. This is a country of laws. I think in many cases when police officers respond to a call, there are cases that the police will charge someone with anything they can think of to arrest them and then charge them with some different when they get to jail. It is not the police officers fault this happens. It is that there are far to many laws on the books for them to know all of them..............jmho
  2. I think it was a great gesture on your part to offer to help. As far as Walmart firing an employee for stopping a woman from being assaulted in the parking lot Walmart should have given him a medal for his action. I think folks in that area should boycott the store till they  gave that employee his job back........jmho
  3. Well the auction close and it go zero bids. I wonder why??????? :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:
  4. It has been many moons (mid 1960's) since I shot trap so don't know if it has changed any. When I shot trap there was 5 different shoot posts  25 feet behind the trap house which was for the most part under ground. You position your self on your shooting location and when ready you call for the bird. When the bird first is in sight it is moving at about 90 feet a second for about 3 seconds and then begins to slow and drift a few seconds before it begins it's descent. Is that the way they still work these days? Back then I shot a Trap Grade Winchester model 12 Pump 30 Inch Full choke barrel, ventilated rib, glow worm site and Hydro coil Stock. Birds came out of the house in 3 possible directions. We also had doubles matches with 2 birds out of the house at 1 time and you had to bust both birds. I always took the low bird first. Some guys switched guns on the doubles shoots and went with Over/under's. Slight advantage but I still won quite a few of them anyway. It was kind of a shock when I was moved down here to Tennessee at age 17 and saw my first Turkey Shoot. Up north were i came from turkey shoots were done at Trap shoots. We shot clay pigeons. Down here they pattern shoot still targets. I entered 1 and after I shot my first round I was asked to leave and they accused me of using what they called a sleeved barrel gun. I was using the barrel I shot trap with and it was the barrel that came on the gun when I bought it brand new off the shelf. I had no idea what they were even talking about when they said sleeved barrel. A friend of mine told me later that day what is meant. I admit it was a Trap grade model which is not the same type barrel as a Field grade model would have but I paid for a Trap grade model. Yea it does have a tighter pattern and is capable of busting clay pigeons 5 feet off the ground before they hit at the end of their flight but that is what Trap Grades mean. If i would have had the money I would have bought a Pigeon Grade but didn't have the extra $189.00..................
  5. I am thinking about getting a Bersa  22 cal pistol. I have a couple of the Bersa 380 Thunders I love and I am wondering if anyone here has a Bersa 22 cal and if so how do you like it. I have a couple 22 semi autos already but would like to have a little bigger framed 22 cal than the ones I have now and the Bersa 22 has the same frame as the 380. Would like any information I can get if some one has one.....
  6. I like your avatar..............jmho
  7. Actually back when I was a youngster and my buddy and I were shooting trap there were a lot of guys shooting the skeet birds with 20 gauges and a lot of them also used 28 gauges. I bet  a lot of folks don't even remember that they made a 28 gauge Shotgun but one of the best was made by Beretta and it was one sweet gun for sure. A guy at one of the clubs let me shoot a round of skeet with his and it was a wonderful gun to shoot for sure.........jmho
  8. Now I am just guessing at this and remember this is just a guess but maybe they felt safer going off shore to have it done because they don't have anyone in their employ they can trust that would not become a whistle blower on how bad the program may really be and someone like Snowden or Wilki leaks might leak out just how bad it is and let all their hidden agendas and secrets about the program out...........jmho
  9. I listened to it on Hannity last night also and it is amazing that some folks could see the direction of our country 45 or 50 years ago and we see it happening before our eyes today. Red Skeleton predicted back in 1959 when they added In "God We Trust" to the pledge of Allegiance that is would be considered a prayer and removed from schools and he was right about that.
  10.   Yea I agree that most of it is propaganda to a point and yea they said it was glitch and thats what they are saying about the ACA sign on also but that goes to show they they do have the power to just throw a switch and no food stamp cards get any money. I realize that sometimes I post stuff that is propaganda related but I would rather post it as an alert to let folks know what may happen rather than to not say anything and it does happen. What do you think? Should I stop posting it or should I keep posting things I learn that might effect a lot of my friends that may not hear about it in time?   Opinions very welcome either way!!!
  11. Just order polygraphs for every employee that works there and has access to that area and you will find your thief or thieves because they will either fail the test or not show up for it and that will be how you catch them. Thing is you can bet they have already got rid of the merchandise because you make plans to have a buy of buyers ready to take the product before you take it................jmho
  12.   We didn't use the AA's because the base wads didn't hold up as well as the Federals and Peters did. We could get about 5 or 6 reloads out of the Federals and about the same amount out of the Peters but only 2 or 3 loads out of the AA's. We shot a lot of trap in our teenage years years and my buddy went on to become the Illinois State Trap Shooting Champion but had to give it up when he received his draft notice and he joined the Navy. I got mine the following year and also joined the Navy.  He and his oldest son still shoots but not anywhere near as often since the firearms situation  has gotten so bad in Illinois that most Trap and Skeet clubs has closed down.
  13. Not sure how true this is but seems to be authentic from a tea party email. Hope the link works. If this is true things may get very rough in November. Might ant to stock up on food now......jmho     http://www.teaparty.org/crisis-usda-orders-states-to-withhold-electronic-food-stamps-29630/
  14. When the time comes Corker needs to go also because he was also in on that deal
  15. Yea leroy, Back years ago and were talking when I was in my teens my buddy and I shot trap at a local Gun club and when we began loading we only had a Texan Reloader which was slow but did the job. When we moved up to shooting more often were both pitched in and both a Mec 600 which loaded much faster and we could knock out about 500 reloads in a few hours with both of us working on it. Things were much less costly back then but sure was fun. We used Federal Primers, Hercules red dot powder, Remington Power Piston wads and Peters shot. We found the best two casings to reload were Federal and Peters.........
  16. This is an article about a speech Obama gave today after signing the Bill last night...........     http://news.yahoo.com/fiscal-crisis-obama-calls-talks-budget-immigration-farm-152943661--business.html
  17. Well you can bet I won't be forgetting any of this and you can bet not 1 vet will forget it either along with the entire military. I read an article that talked about what Obama had to say after he signed the bill last night. I wanted to :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: when I read it. The only highlight in the entire article was when his former Secretary Of Defense in a nice way called him a chicken in an interview for refusing to roll up his sleeves and get involved in the negotiations. More and more of his former inner circle are lining up against him. First it was Robert Gibbs and now it's Leon Panetta. Looks like he is losing former friends fast.........jmho
  18. Well, it might seem like a small step but it will fail. They will just be wasting $240,000.00 bucks to pay some guy from New York to come into the deep south and try and implement a program that has no chance of working. People in the South don't look at things like people in New York do. Plus I think the crime rate in New York is still about where it was before Bloomberg put the programs into effect which proves they didn't work.......jmho
  19. With election year looming I don't look for much on gun control to show up. Like someone mentioned that is one subject that no politicians want to take up in an election year...........jmho
  20. If you can find one, the Older model Winchester Model 12 Trap grade is a great trap and skeet gun. I shot trap and skeet with one for many years and they are a great gun. I don't have a clue what they are selling for or if you can even find one for sale but worth a look to see for sure. Other wise like Troutburger mentioned  The Remington Wingmaster model 1100 is also a great gun for what your wanting to do with it.
  21. I cannot believe that anyone here would have expected a bill to come out of the Senate or the House without have 5000 lbs of pork fat added, especially since they all knew it would get voted on with out folks having time to read it. It is just like Obama care bill. Botox Pelosi's infamous quote of the century. "You have to sign it to see what is in it." Once again same story and different Bill..................
  22. He would have my vote for sure. You can bet he would be more than willing to negotiate over any thing that came up and would not need a teleprompter to tell him what to say. There would be no puppet strings attached to him. You would also always know where he stood on all parts of Government and You can bet he would have the most transparent Government in history. Ted is not bashful when it comes to him speaking his mind for sure.............. :usa:  :usa:
  23. Hope you have a complete and great recovery my friend and you up and around fairly soon.................
  24. Several years back we took a trip up to Eureka Springs Arkansas and saw a lot of them dead on roads like you see opossums on roads in Tennessee. I guess the climate change is what is moving them east.
  25. Sorry to hear about your theft loss my friend. A thief and a liar are the two people I hate the most myself. You might check local pawn shops for next couple days. Good chance some of it may show up. I would bet they don't have a clue on the value of the knives but you can bet pawn brokers will and they will low ball the guy hoping he does not know their worth. As far as tools go if they are a thief they won't have any use for the tools because they don't work so maybe the tools will show up also. I doubt the ammo will show up because they will probably know some fence that will buy that stuff quicker than a pawn shop with less questions. I hope you did get your stuff back.....
