Well that could be a plus but I would probably wind up feeding the deer rather than shooting them. I quit hunting in 1990 but I could shoot one if it became necessary as a food source. Thing about shooting a deer is finding a god deer processor these days. I have had guys offer me a deer several times but cannot find anyone doing processing any more so ad to turn them down. I use to love living in the country and could probably adjust to it again quit easily in Father in law house behind my daughters house well enough. Only would be responsible for utilities, no rent. Would need to build a garage or at least inclosed carport for Skeeter bass Boat. It has never been stored out doors...................

Quote from nightrunner "I wonder, is there enough copper in pennies to melt them down and cast them into bullets or is the alloy all wrong"? All pennies made before 1982 are 94% copper and 6% zinc which makes the very suitable for copper bullets. Only during WWII did they make steel pennies which are worth more as a collectors item than a bullet. Thing is don't get caught melting pennies cause they belong to Uncle Sam and I think he might frown on folks melting down his money even though he can print more when ever he wants to..................

Oh I plan on waiting to see what the offer is from the new owner/owners before making any offers. I have been living here 15 years this April. I have paid my rent on or before the 5th of every month. Since moving in I have had a built in dishwasher installed at my own expense because I got tired of washing dishes. I had to fix the faucet washers to save the land lord on the water bill till I got tired of changing them so I put brand new Washer-less faucets in kitchen and bathroom on my dime, I had new carpeting put down in living room on my own dime. I had all new sensor lighting put out side on my dime. I cut all the grass around all the property all summer on my dime. They gave me $25.00 to buy gas 1 time and it takes that just two cuttings to use that up. so yea, I think I have done my part to upkeep the place so I will wait and see what they offer before making any moves in any directions......................

Ok I see folks have asked about an update. The reason I have not updated is because for some reason they have not and will not release any information his his condition. His wife is at the hospital and she has either been told and then ordered not to release any information to any family yet or she has not been told because we have not been given any updates on his condition other than he is stable. I have no clue what the big secret might be but they damn sure aren't telling us anything. Soon as I know something ya'll will know something. I promise.

Again thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your responses. They have all helped in some way to keep me moving forward. That is why I came here and posted my feelings at the time. I knew there would be help on the other end of my computer here...........

Well, I am going to wait and see what the new owners do because I do have an option that I have had for 11 years but just was not one I wanted. Actually I have two options so I won't be homeless. My son in law and daughter live in Alexandria and they have a father in law house behind their house that I can move into but will take some time to actually get it ready. I could also move into the big house with them.(YUK) So I won't be homeless but didn't want to live 45 minutes from nearest Walmart and you know when your that far from a Walmart you are about in the wilderness and near nothing. Can't work on back house in winter so hoping I can last out here til at least warm weather so we can fix the house up some before I have to move. When you have lived someplace 15 years as I have here to me this is home. When I moved in here I move in two pick up trucks and one trip. This move will require the biggest truck uhaul has and it still may have to make two trips. Sure can accumulate a lot of junk in 15 years. Might have one big yard sale before moving and just put price tags on what I want to sell in the house and let people shop in the house and move whats left. Don;t need all this stuff no way. Don't use half of it any more. Just hate moving away from all my friends I have here. Oh well, I guess only time will tell huh?

Probably the best 2nd Amendment speech ever
bersaguy replied to EMB145's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The elected legislators have seemed to developed a closed door concept or a midnight weekend concept not counting doing things when almost 90% or more of the Congress is out of town on holiday. They slam things through that way so they don't have to be up front and honest to WE THE PEOPLE. Our so called President has signed many of his executive orders in much the same way. At night on weekends and no one learns of them till they have taken effect. If we do not keep the House and earn the Senate in 2014 by 2016 I am almost sure we will be living under a Dictatorship and no longer a true and free nation................jmho -
Well, my life may be turned over in a few months. I survived the sale of this place I live in through the last sale because I knew the buyer and his wife and my rent remained the same. I still have about 4 months left on my lease and the place is about to sell again. The man that bought the place in 2007 passed away about 5 months ago and his wife didn't warn anyone but signs went up in front yards before he was in the ground and cold. She is also selling a great big fine home that they lived in and she is moving into their winter home in Florida and selling everything up here. She has more than enough to live far more than very comfortable and I kind of expected it when her husband passed away. If the trend follows true to form soon as our leases run out here we all in the triplex will face rent increases. If mine goes up I will be forced to move because I am paying the max I can afford and keep all my other utilities paid and buy food. Social Security checks only goes so far. Going to begin looking around to see what is available just in case. Please wish me luck........... :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

I would love to see everyone just tell their employers to stop taking the money out of their checks and the employers do it. If every American did that they don't have enough IRS agents to enforce 1/2 of 1/10,000th of the American people and even if it only lasted a month it damn sure would get their attention that when WE THE PEOPLE speak we mean business...............jmho

Megan Kelly explained all of this really well on her segment of Fox News last night. She took it to the Feds hard and heavy to disgrace them in every way she could find but like she said in the end. The Budget will get voted on and approved so they can all go home for holiday. It is a total and complete disgrace what they are doing to our Brave men and women in our military and our Wounded Warriors. You can bet the Congress all got their big raises this year without any cuts. She talked about a parking garage that was started like 5 years ago and was suppose to cost like 5 million and it's costing 150 million which is money being taken away from our troops to complete. She ahd a book written by one of the Congressman that listed to top 30 wasteful things in Government spending which would be more than enough to really cut the budget by 1 trillion dollars that was nothing but wasteful spending. I sincerely hope and pray that in 2014 every incumbent that is up for re-election gets voted out and WE THE PEOPLE teach all of them a lesson on whats on our minds................jmho

I was watching Fox news last night and this new budget was brought up and they are asking for 6 Billion dollars for education. I don't know about ya'll but they use our children as pawns every time in their ponzi schemes to get more money in the budget and once in there it seems that most of the money goes to pet pork projects and not to education.Every politician for as long as I can remember has in some way used education of our children to get their pork fat passed yet our education still suffers...............jmho

Ok TMF, I can understand most of your post but part of it not? I can agree that the guy receiving the lead was evidently not the aggressor. According to what I read the guy in the SUV cut them bikers off while they were on or attempting to get on the exit ramp which puts the SUV in front which would make sense and he was on the ramp going the same direction as they were attempting to go when he cut them off so ultimately they would of course be following the SUV because that was the exit they had planned on getting off at anyway. That does not give the SUV driver any cause to stop at once which would also stop the motorcycles and then he actually had to put his SUV in reverse and deliberately back up to hit the motorcycle which had stopped short of hitting the SUV. I think the nut cases main problem was that once he realized they had followed him home that they were going to call the police and tell the police where he lived. He was to stupid to leave well enough a lone and deal with the police when they arrived on the hit and run he would be facing. Not going to prison for that but shooting someone over it I hope will earn him many years with Bubba in the Gray Bar Motel. Glad he didn't have a heavy caliper gun of the biker would surely be dead. He is also lucky the bikers didn't have an HCP or if they did they were not packing because a good chance he would not have lived to deal with Bubba.........jmho. P.S. Now with that said I wonder if all this began while they were all on the interstate because there have been many times I have had guys riding crotch rockets pass me and come back in my lane doing 80+ 10 feet ahead of me riding very dangerously. There could have been an issue before the exit ramp............jmho -
Glad to hear things went good and now prayers for quick recovery........................

I try to spend my whole day chilling TMF and for the most part it works as long as I don't leave the house. Once out in the world full of so many idiots chilling becomes much harder but I still make it out and back without shooting someone. I agree that people seem to not be as friendly as they once where. I remember the times when your driving down a country road and you waved at passing vehicles as a show of friendship even if you didn't know them just to let them know you saw them. Do that today and good chance you will receive a Bird for your troubles. I remember when every pickup truck sitting school parking lot had 12 gauge or rifle or both hanging up in rear window gun racks. For those of you to young to remember those days you can take my word for it. This use to be a great country and folks helped out other folks and every one was friendly. Well lets say everyone in the South and Southwest where friendly. Any of ya'll that didn't live in that time don't know what you missed but the ones that did do.............jmho -
I had a small incident at the Walmart here in Gallatin as I was walking up to the sporting goods section. As I turned the corner to enter it I was looking down the muzzle of 12 gauge shotgun. A guy and his kid were looking at the gun and he had it up to his shoulder and pointed out into the open isles. As I turned the corner he didn't raise it up and was still pointing it at me till I could touch the end of the barrel before he raised it. I said excuse me but he didn't move and let me pass but just stood there blocking the isle. I said excuse me again and he said whats your rush. I said no rush. He got an attitude and finally move over a little. He began to said something else and I looked at him and he decided best keep quiet. Smart move on his part but I did tell the guy behind the counter that if someone is going to look at a gun tell them they are not to point it anywhere but up at the ceiling on down at the floor cause I didn't appreciate having it pointed at me. I made sure the guy heard what I said..................jmho

I can't see that as a defense since the guy had time to drive home after the accident, go into his house or garage or even get the guns out of his SUV and exit the garage to confront them on a public street when he was safe at home and could have just gone in his house out of any so called danger. I think the guy needs to spend a long time in the Gray Bar Motel with Big Bubba and learn some manners..................jmho -

I can tell you one thing I have learned recently while driving on highways and even city streets. Everyone always seems to be in a hurry to get where ever they are going and drive like idiots that are late getting there. More and more rude people driving now than ever I think. I do my best to stay out of most of their way. I have noticed that while trying to pull out of side streets onto main highways and you look and a car or truck is pretty far off and seems safe to pull out. I have learned to look at least 2 or 3 times to check the speed of approaching vehicles. The speed limit maybe 35 but they will be doing 50 plus so you need to make sure they are not speeding before you pull out. I'm not sure what has happened to road manners but they sure don't happen much any more................jmho -
Prayers sent for all to go well

"you'll never stop it for the same reason why there will still be murders and other violence if you destroyed every weapon of every kind that currently exists and ban the creation of new ones...evil will find a way to do evil things". from Roberts post. Your right about this part for sure. Cain killed Able with a rock. There will always be evil in the world. The real goal is to address it as best possible and continue strive never to allow it to consume us and we live our lives. Be vigilant as possible and fix what can be fixed and on the more difficult issues even harder.................jmho

Well, just wait till some maniac walks into a MC'D and their is a bunch of soccer Moms in their with a bunch of kids and abd guy pulls out a gun to start shooting and some guy sitting back in the corner drops the bad guy like a bad habit because he is legally packing a 9MM Glock and stops the bad guys from killing a bunch of kids and Moms. Then we will see how the MDA Moms think about legal guns in Mickey D's...............jmho

No, you can keep the flat top pistons that should be in that engine. All you need to re-cam your motor is a set of valve cover gaskets, timing cover gaskets, intake gaskets and if it were me I would add a twin roller timing chain and gears. I think I would probably go with a Crane blazer 288 Camshaft. It is a great duration RV cam and will not need a stall converter but add plenty of zip. I am guessing you have a Quadra jet 4 barrel carburetor. Might want to step up if you do and put some 74 jets in it if you have the Quadra jet. Should give your 305 some serious pep but I would still do the Lock out manual hubs on front wheels and stop that differential from working when not needed. 4 inch lift and 33's should serve you well. Everything listed above does not require real deep pockets but won't be cheap either. Tires and wheels will cost you more that most all the rest of it combined. Have fun and take you time and if you do this enjoy the time working on the truck. I was an ASE certified Master Mechanic for 35 years and I loved working on cars and trucks until I was forced to quit due to health issues. I have built quit a few toys of my own over those years. The Blazer was my last one. Youngest son still drives it around on his farm when he goes deer hunting and he painted it all up in Camo.

As I mentioned in one of the post. I made my annual trip to my Cemetery and decorated my son and wife's graves and like I said it was 1990 for my son and 1997 for my wife and it's been a last couple rough days for me. Yea I am getting older and I see it being harder and harder to go each year both physically and mentally and in my heart it is not any easier. I am thankful for websites like this one to have someplace to express my life's strife's and know that some folks will understand since my old dog does her best to stay close by. It's really amazing how dogs can tell when their master is down in the dumps and blue about something. They seem to spend more time closer to you. Normally Kasey lays on her bed while in the house but since Sunday she has laid right beside me while I am on the computer and if I get up to move she moves with me. Last two nights instead of sleeping in her bed she slept laying on the floor beside the bed so Monday night I put a blanket down beside the bed for her. I know the blues will pass soon and I will get back to normal as normal is for me. Thanks for being here to read an old mans ramblings folks.
