  1. Well, in my opinion which ain't much,I think just about every household that has a firearm in it has at least 1 or more 22 rifles from single shots to semi auto's and most of the have a 22 pistol of some type. Reason being both the guns back years ago could be purchased fairly cheap in about every department store in the country. Sears, Montgomery Ward, Western Auto, and the list goes on. Ammo was also very affordable. I remember buying a box of 50 22shorts for 49 cents and longs for 59 cents. What has really surprised me is Shotgun shells have not really been effected and like to 22's if there was a 22 in the home their was at least 1 single shot or double barrel shotgun in the house yet ammo for them has been readily available for them in all gauges. I think people began hoarding 22ls because when they did they were cheap and they knew about every home has one or more in them and they could profit from it later which is turning out to be a fact.......................j,ho
  2. In my particular location I live in a cottage that is completely concealed from the highway by the Duplex in front of the cottage. I like to have my front door open during the day so just lock storm door. All of my friends know to call before they stop in. If someone knocks on my storm door even during the day I go to the door with some type of gun in my hand in clear sight. Normally they say, sorry thought someone else lived here and exit pretty fast without me saying a word. At night now with my new lighting they are lit up like a Broadway stage and seldom every make it to the front door but just turn and leave. Like I said all my friends that know me call before coming or call while sitting in driveway before getting out.
  3. I am getting to old for the 60 watt bulbs in my house and just stepped up to the 75 watts and back when I was making fishing baits I had three 8 foot florescent double bulb fixtures in my pouring room. Now as I got even older and wanted more out door lighting I had a buddy of mine put up some great out door motion sensor lights and they light up just about my entire yard and I love them. I can pull in my driveway at night and I back up to my door and it use to be hard to see but not any more. Everything is well lit..........I don't think you can have to much lighting when you get older except when your asleep and then I want a dark house...........jmho
  4. would never believe it was the same gun. Great restoration for sure and something to be proud of..............jmho
  5. Well, I got to meet hipower and steelharp last evening for a short time and they are both great guys for sure. Got to see a few guns , well got to see a lot of guns and didn't get to close to the glass cases because I did not want to slobber and drool all over them so stayed back an looked.  Just to let both of you know it was a pleasure meeting both of you and hope to be able to do it again soon.    Bersaguy
  6. Lets face facts folks. The only reason they brought Phil back is because the rest of the Robertson's told A&E that is Phil does not come back neither do they. Blood is thicker than water or money, especially when you already have plenty of water and money. A&E didn't have much choice. It was either bring Phil back or lose the whole show. I am glad to see a family stick together and hold to their beliefs.........jmho
  7. Well, one thing is for sure. She has a very dedicated protector. Dogs of most any kind have a instinct about babies and somehow know that they need protection..............jmho   Great video!!
  8. Since I don't have a wife I can't do the two person thing unless I take a buddy with me and I normally don't go alone so when we approach the sporting goods section we split up and buy separately getting the purchase limit x 2. If you and your wife would have separated just before entering that sporting goods area you both would have got 3 boxes. That is one of the ways to play the Walmart game and it works most times............jmho
  9. I wish I could be that way when selling items but I have an issue of when I am selling anything I point out all the flaws it has and then let the person make a decision if they want to buy it or not. I was taught as a child that your reputation is who you are and I want folks to leave my home with a good taste in their mouth if they have purchased something from me that I told them if the item had any issues I didn't hide them............jmho
  10. Yea, they can monitor some of the largest internet and phone services out there and keep all those records in memory but yet cannot build a website to get that POS ACA website to work. I guess it must have to do with priorities and the ACA website was just not high enough on the priority list.................
  11. my list is way to long to remember everything I don't know............. :stunned: :stunned: :stunned:
  12. Well folks, I have zero plans on registering my firearms by standing in a line because the ones I bought in gun stores or had a back ground check done on me at time of purchase are already registered. Does anyone here actually think that at 10 o'clock each night that the TBI really deletes all the back ground checks they did that day? I don't and never did. They can say they do all they want but I don't believe them. Also if they do back ground checks do they not use a Federal data base to do it. Believe me the Feds know about every gun that was legally purchased through a back ground check. The ones they don't know about are the ones you purchased years ago of bought from another individual. Those are the guns they hope folks are stupid enough to register because they are the guns they don't know you have..........jmho
  13. Stupid is as stupid does. If a guy is standing there holding a rifle and you are in the process of stealing some of his property and you are stupid enough to move in that mans direction and threaten to kill him all I can say is you need to get shot................jmho
  14. If they still had all the original history books I was taught out of the Black people could learn the real truth about their black history. They would learn that it was their own race in Africa that captured and sold their own people in slavery. They would learn that it was their own people here that controlled the auctions where their ancestors where sold into slavery. It is only because they have not been taught the truth. They have only taught what the Liberals want them to know which are mostly all lies and that is why we have the problems we have with the real race issues. They have been taught to hate from birth and they will be taught to hate as long as the Liberia's are educating the children...........jmho  I have never been a racist and I have many Black friends that also are not racists. They hate Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others like them and no they did not vote for Obama just because he is black and most of them didn't vote for him at all. One of them even told me after the election that the people made a great mistake in electing him. He was right and he knew it. We talk often and he will avoid any discussions that involve politics because it makes him mad because of how stupid he said the people were for ever electing him. He is about my age so he also remembers the original history books and knows the truth.
  15. I would imagine that the number of folks that have an HCP are almost always armed if away from home for any reason. I think that for a couple reasons, 1st being I don't think people would pay the money they do for the classes they must go through just to get the HCP.  2nd, I don't think most folks would pay the money out to the state to get the HCP if they don't plan on carrying it in most cases. 3rd is folks have been wanting to be able to legally protect their loved one while out in public for many years and many of them carried before they were ever allowed to have an HCP.  Everyone I know that has an HCP is never not armed when away from home and I know a lot of HCP holders. I for one won't even walk to my post box out at my street without a gun of some kind with me.  I have a very many buddies that both them and their wives never leave the safety of their homes not armed. When we get together and go out to eat we have to be selective where we go because in all cases all of us will have a weapon on our person and that included's wives. Does that sound paranoid? It might to an anti gun person but not to any person that is wanting to know they can protect themselves and their family or friends in the event of an incident......................jmho

  17. I guess a guy buys a badge and he is automatically a law enforcement officer..........I hope the real LEO's took his toy badge away from him for impersonating an LEO and took him to jail.............jmho
  18. I read an article back a couple years ago and wish now I would have saved it and may have on my older computer but it was interesting. It was a statistic that showed the amount of big game hunting licenses that were sold in the state of Michigan and Pennsylvania. In Michigan it showed something like 590,000 sold and in Pennsylvania it was like 780,000 sold in the same year. That is 1,370,000 people that bought a license to hunt big game in just two of the lower 48 states. The report showed that just those two states reflected more owners of High Powered rifles for big game hunting than the number of people in our US Army and that was just in two states. If you begin adding up the other serious big game hunters in the southern states like Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia, North & South Carolina, Texas and Louisiana to that number in just two Yankee states I wonder what the numbers would be. I am sure that in most of those stats very few include Black Rifles. I'm sure these stats were made several years back before the big push for the Black rifles became so popular but I thought it was an interesting read at the time..................jmho  It goes to show just how well armed this nation really is IMO. I'm sure that many of those who own a high powered rifle would surely also own at least one hand gun of some type.
  19. All my life I have seen auxiliary police officers working on local sheriffs departments in uniforms that mostly only work on special events like parades and school activities like foot ball games and such and they are sworn in deputies with all the authority of any other deputy and many donate their time. Why can't they not do this in areas that are short of regular officers? Are they afraid that they may do a better job than the paid ones do?...........jmho
  20. Prayers being sent for Brandon and his family................... :ugh: :ugh:
  21. Yea , that is why I told all my scouts out there that if they see it buy it. They said do you want me to call you first and I said no call me after you bought it to let me know you got some..........................
  22. I am not even sure they are being printed on the same paper material money was printed on back years ago which was actually a  cloth material from a lint waste by product from the Levi Strauss company. Since Levi's are no longer made in USA I don't know if the Feds can get the material any longer...............jmho
  23. You got that right about the 22mag ammo being hard to find jonnin. I have been looking for it for over a year and What I have I am afraid to shoot. I have everyone I know on the lookout for it and I tell them if they find it buy it and I will refund them their money + a tip  for their help. ...........jmho
  24. I don't know that much about Harwell but I do has Haslam speaks with FORKED TONGUE buy I have had several people tell me that they were at a range a couple different times and Ramsey was there shooting and that he also shoots clays out at the Range on Centennial Blvd also. That is what I have heard from friends but never actually saw it. The friends that told me are close friends and I don't think they would have reason to lie about it............jmho
  25. I like Hornaday 30gr V-Max myself. Not as heavy a bullet but penetration is better and I have not had any issues with them not killing what they hit.........jmho
