  1.     I live in Gallatin which is down the ridge from Portland. I need to do some research and see where the nearest Kroger store is to me in KY.
  2. This is for those of you that may have missed it when it first came out..You can almost relate to his experience!!!!       Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt pocket/purse-sized Tazer. The effects of the Tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety...?? WAY TOO COOL!!! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home...I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what the burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two AAA batteries, right? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and then thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and Tazer in another. The directions said that: A one second burst would shock and disorient your assailant A two second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; and A three second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting batteries. All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference (loaded with two itsy, bitsy AAA batteries) pretty cute really, and thinking to myself, "no possible way"!! What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best. I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side so as to say, "Don't do it stupid", reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny lil ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad...I decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and ..... HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. WHAT THE ....!!!! I'm pretty sure Hulk Hogan ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs! The cat was making meowing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room. Note- If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a Tazer one note of caution: There is NO such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by violent thrashing about on the floor!! A three second burst would be considered conservative! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. *The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. *My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. *My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. *I had no control over the drooling. *Apparently I had crapped in my shorts, but was too numb to know for sure, and my sense of smell was gone. *I saw a faint smoke cloud above my head, which I believe came from my hair. I'm still looking for my testicles and I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return! My wife can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift and now regularly threatens me with it! If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
  3. I have been invited to vote in the Peoples Choice Awards a few times. In all honesty I'm not sure how they make the choices on who votes but I just get a ballot in my google email ever so often and if I have seen the movie they are asking about or see the actor/actress in other recent movies they want your opinions on their acting and would you nominate them for the Peoples Choice Award.
  4. I can promise yall this. If I am in a store and some maniac comes storming in the door ranting and waving a gun and threatening to kill everyone in the store I will do everything in my power to end his plans as fast as possible. Like a post in the blazed mentioned. In that case I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I'm quite sure there will be enough very thankful people willing to testify in my favor..............jmho
  5. I might look at going up there to KY since I am only about 15 miles from State line. might be worth the trip if I do my main shopping for the month up there...........
  6. I was watching that 30 minute talk show Inside Hollywood and news program that runs before the 5Pm local news and they were talking about how upset Oprah Winfrey was for not getting a nomination or close to getting one for her role in the movie "The Butler". She said she was disappointed that her name was not even in the race. I loved listening to her whine and cry but the people spoke and made their point about how they feel about her. She is to stupid to realized it was not her acting but here politics that kept the people from voting for her. The same thing happened to Robert Redford. Never got a nod for a roll he play in a movie this past year. I don't recall the movie name but folks said the movie was a great one but still didn't give Redford even a nod. He made his politics clear and the people listened. These actors are going to have to get use to 2 facts. If they want to continue working in Hollywood in movies they will have to stay very liberal. If they do they will act but they will not get awards. They can either sell their souls to the Devil and work or become a respected pillar back in society and become a dedicated patriot. But they won't get both ever again on any awards that We the People vote on............jmho.  Also I will not go to any movie that any one stars in that has sold their souls to the Devil just to work. There have been a lot of actors and actresses that are not able to find work any longer because they will not go liberal and they have openly admitted that is why they cannot find work in Hollywood. Those folks I admire for their stance and if any do find work I will go see their movies.............jmho
  7. I have an Aldi's as close as my Kroger and Walmart. I tried them a couple times and bought some of their canned vegetables. What very disappointed in them. They were almost 50/50 water / vegetable mix. Had to use two cans to get a normal amount of vegetables for a meal where I use 1 can with other stores. I guess I should not complain. I live alone, just me and the old dog and I actually spend more money on her food items than I do mine sometimes. Some friends have told me I am crazy for spending that kind of money on a dog but she is my very best friend and if your going to have a dog it is your responsibility to provide for it just as you would any family member but that may only be my way of thinking. She loves to go riding in the jeep and back seat is all hers and the few times I don't take her like when I go fishing and take the bass boat and going to be gone a long time she has to stay home and guard the house. She pouts but then she gets rewarded when I get home with some Jacks Turkey Jerky and I am forgiven.......lol. I have to go to Sams once a month and buy her Turkey Jerky as Sams has the 1 pound bags you can't find in retail stores and they are only $8.98 a bag. Compared to the cost of real dog treats I can by Jacks there cheaper than dog treats made in China. Plus I can eat the Jacks jerky and can't eat the Chinese Dog Treats. I might look at Aldi's again for some other products like Bread, Milk, and odds and ends stuff.
  8. I have thought about sending some to a few people as gifts but changed my mind. Don't know if the might be some legal ramifications that may come from it and me getting sued for "reckless endangerment"!!!!! :ugh:  :ugh:  :ugh:
  9. I don't know but I thought the tests they did on the two Japanese cities to end WWII pretty much proved they worked. Why all of the testing is beyond my imagination. Seems like once they knew they worked and worked well that should have been enough. I guess they figured they had money to burn so blow something up...................jmho     It does kind of explain why California has about 500+ fault lines in the state along with a few other states out there. I wonder if they ever gave any consideration that they could have set off that earth destroying hot bed in Yellow Stone and sped up the end of time. I was watching a program about earthquakes the other night. The expert was asked by the interviewer where the worse most dangerous Volcano is located and his reply was Yellow Stone National Park and it is ever pops it's cork it will most likely be the end of the earth.  And our government is popping nukes off under the ground in Nevada??????????
  10. For years Kroger Stores have been offering a 10% for Senior Citizens on the 1st Wednesday of each month. I just saw on the news that they are cutting it back to 5%. They said to off set the change they are making it 5% every Wednesday of the month. adding the other three days a month does not make up for it as far as I'm concerned because like most Seniors I shop for my home once a month and do 95% of my shopping on the one main trip. The rest of the time it's things like milk, bread and something I may run out of. 5% puts them in the same price range as Walmart or may make Walmart a little less. I may have to do a little price checking now on the items I buy and see who will get my business.......jmho
  11. Stupid is as Stupid does!!!!!!! Maybe Big Bubba can teach him a few lessons during his stay in the Gray Bar Motel...............
  12. I actually had to quit reading them because my guts were hurting from laughter. I might go back and read more later.............
  13. You have to wonder what is going through someones mind who can kill a person over a domestic issue and then kill themselves. They should stop and give thought as to how many people that they leave behind that will suffer because of such a stupid act. Just senseless to me how these people think or don't think and just do...............jmho
  14. back in the small town I grew up in we had a guy named Willy. He lived about 5 miles from town and he would push a wheel barrel with a shovel, rake and hoe in it and would come to town each day to see if he could make some change to eat his meals. My mother was a short order cook in Harry's Cafe. Every morning Willy would come in for breakfast and there was one waitress that hated waiting on him and would get one of the others to do it. My mother would watch for him to come in because he would order the same thing every day. Harry always was a nice guy and when he was gone my mother was the boss. One day Willy came in and dug out all of his change and put it on the counter and the only waitress that could wait on him was the one that hated him and Harry was gone. My mother also hated this waitress and it was time to set her straight. My mother hear the waitress snap at will that he only had 37 cents and that would not buy pancakes and bacon so why don't you just leave!!!!! My mother went out of the kitchen and took that waitress by the arm ad lead her to the kitchen. She then produced a butcher knife and told that waitress that if she ever spoke to Willy that way again she would cut her F-----ing head off. My mother sent one of the other waitresses out to find Willy and bring him back because they had made a mistake and he did have enough money for his breakfast. When he came back in he put his change on the counter and my mother sent out a double stack of hotcakes and double bacon and told the waitress to keep his coffee cup filled. When Harry got back the waitress told him she had a problem with his cook and told him what happened. Harry didn't even go speak with my mother. He looked at the waitress and told her she was fired and to get out of the cafe. They learned that when Willy was a child he was beat in the head by his mother and father and gave him brain damage. We moved away to Tennessee but Harry promised my mother that Willy would be cared for and I guess he was.
  15. I use to have an arsenal, then I had a stockpile, then I had a collection and then there was none when my home got burglarized back in 1987. As the police officer was trying to right the police report after the 7th gun and serial number he asked me how many guns they took and I said 28. Some of them were pretty much just plain old single shot shotguns of different ages but they also got some high end weapons. The officer finally asked me if I was a collector and I said yea. He said "oh okay, that explains why you had so many guns." I said what other reason would I have? Then we began on listing the ammo they took and finally after about 10 minutes of that he said, did you have ammo for every gun they took?"  I said "what good is a gun without ammo for it"? All of those guns were stolen from my home in 1987 and to this day not one of them has shown up in a pawn shop or a crime scene or anywhere else. 26 years gone and not one sign of where they went. I check once a month with that Sheriffs office about them and all I get is not anything yet!!  Today I own just enough in the way of guns to get me killed which I guess can be just 1 if they come knocking on my door to get it. I can promise when they do put me down all I own will be empty and guns will be smoking hot. I have no plans of starting any trouble  but f it ever comes knocking I have no intentions of going quietly into the night. If they want you they will get you by all means needed if they want you bad enough. They will just fly a drone over you house and you will be gone. Hope none of my neighbors are home because from what i have seen drones are not all that particular about collateral damage...............jmho
  16. Working now and funny for sure. I found the page of customers reviews and posted that link.

  19.   I do remember my Grandmother talking about how corrupt politics were back in the FDR years and that was how he got voted into a third term. I can see it taking place back with paper ballots. But what gets my goat on this is that you have people on network news actually talking about committing a crime of voting multiple times standing directly under a sign saying it is a crime and that bill board was right in front of that woman's house. Plus she actually worked at the polling center in which she did this and not one thing was mentioned after the interview. Not one word about charges or anything else. They acted just like it was an accepted act and nothing was wrong with her actions...........jmho
  20. I believe if I did some research or someone else did they would probably find it was a Bill Clinton idea since it was him that signed the orders that our military could not carry their side arms while on base in country. That is why the shooting at Fort Hood went on as long as it did and cost so many lives. I thank GOD he didn't disarm the MP's on the base also.  Yea I knew the F-16's were not armed that went up first but the second ones that were sent up 14 minutes later were armed coming from Langley to protect the White House. You can bet had those pilots encountered a target they would have made the ultimate sacrifice if necessary and flew the planes into the airliner. Hopefully with a plan to eject just prior to impact but then our pilots are very dedicated to our great country for sure. In the program last night they did say that the planes that were sent in first were unarmed because they were getting ready for a non hot ammo training exercise just before they got the call..
  21. My question is why was the gun in a rental car to begin with? Also I would like to know the name of the car rental agency that does not check their cars out and clean them up before the next rental. Sounds like a pretty poor rental company. I bet you could leave a dead body in one of their cars trunk and not notice it till the smell got someones attention.  Very poor way of doing business and being blonde does not give her an excuse to leave the weapon in the car..............jmho
  22. That is pretty much what happened to the Fishing Expo's that use to be great shows until they got to greedy and kept jacking the prices up on booth spaces and entry fees until the vendors were forced to sell their products at or above retail prices to make any money. Now you go to a fishing expo and you can buy everything from house gutters to Alaskan Vacations but not very much tackle or boats.................jmho
  23. Well folks, this has been a very interesting debate and discussion for sure. I was glad to see so many express their opinions on this as it is a very important topic that needs discussions. I think I made most of my point in my first post but after reading some of the posts here I feel I will add a few things to my original thoughts. I watched a program on the Military Channel last evening titled "Chaos in the sky" and it was about the terrorists and when hi jacking of  commercial aircraft's began. It seems like it was actually back in late 70's when some Arab nationals took over 3 airliner's full of people at one time still on the ground and after getting all of their grievances explained to the press about issues going on it their country they released all the hostages from the planes and they remained on the planes and blew all 3 of them up destroying the aircraft's and themselves. As more and more terrorists hijackings began to transpire they began taking control of them in the air and making their demands to be flown to neutral countries to express their complaints. That escalated and then they began hijacking planes and blowing them up with all aboard or killing a selected group of people that were from countries they were against and releasing the rest. Then it slowed down to a new approach of just blowing up planes that were coming to America but they would not be on the plane. They would accept responsibility for it as some radical Muslim group. They did it by putting a bomb in a bag in the cargo area with a timing device and they would board the plane and get off at the first stop and the plane would blow up over the ocean an hour later with them not on it. I'm sure we all have read or heard about all of those. That went on for years and as security got tighter and any Muslim person leaving their country that purchased a one way ticket was watched closely and if they exited the plane on the first stop the entire plane was emptied and that persons baggage was removed from the plane along with everyone else's and would be checked for bombs. Soon they figured out that that idea had been figured out so they began going to one airline and checking their bag and the going to another airline to buy a ticket to the same country the bag was going to. Again that worked a few times. When it got to hard to just blow up airplanes things kind of stopped about 3 or 4 years and then came the ultimate use of commercial airplanes which was 9/11/2001 and we all remember that day. I learned a lot I didn't know by watching that program last night. I learned that they had scrambled Air Force jets from two different bases to go up and pursue the aircraft in question but had orders in the beginning to not fire on the aircraft and wait on further orders. Finally after the plane struck the Pentagon new orders were issued to fire on any aircraft presumed hijacked. They were ordered to kill people in the air to protect people on the ground. Of course they never needed to because the only plane still flying was United Flight 93 which crashed in the field. A couple very important things were learned that day. Once the transponders were turned off the planes could not be tracked so air traffic controllers could not direct the Fighter jets to the planes. That will not happen again. The only way to turn off the transponders now is destroy the aircraft because there is no way on the plane in which to turn it off. It turns off only after the aircraft landed and is at the gate and the entire plane is shut off. By doing that aircraft don't need to be scrambled to shoot a plane. They can get a missile lock on the transponder signal and fire a missile and down it. Now with that said. I go back and think about the original post title and I think about it again. I am still not against what the Soldiers did but filming it was uncalled for in so many ways. Also, as far as burning the bodies. Our enemies have done their fair share of that and not just in the war torn countries. How many people were burned ALIVE in the Twin Towers and Pentagon? I'm sorry for my feelings in some ways but not for the burning of the dead bodies. I am sorry that were are involved in such an ugly situation that has cost our great nation so many brave men and women in a war that should have ended swiftly with the technology we have at our disposal and won't use. Instead the blood of our fighting men and women is used. The radical Muslims of all the Jihad countries picked this fight and I cannot feel any pity for them. I just say we need to use the technology we have and bring our troops home....................jmho
  24. I have little faith in our election system any more. The last election in 2012 was more than enough proof that they are not just rigged but very very rigged. When you have people being interviewed about their voting actions and they will stand with a billboard sign directly behind them that read "Illegal voting is a Felony" and openly admit that they voted 6 times in the election and was almost bragging about it and they were not arrested or ever faced any type of challenge to it how can anyone believe that our election system will work? I will go and cast my vote come election time for what it is worth but I know that my 1 vote will be over ridden by that same person that will be voting 6 or maybe even 10 times for the other guy.................jmho
  25. I doubt seriously that he would have ever got to the Seal base and even then would have never made it onto the base because they didn't mention anything about him having any type of clearance like the guy at the Naval Ship Yard did . I'm more curious as to how many if any Mosque's might have been located in the direction he was headed. Chances of blowing one of those up would have been a lot easier. I do hope that they find out what his impending target was and make it known but I bet they don't...................jmho
