1. I have never owned one but a buddy of mine handed me his 45 and I was not paying a lot of attention when he handed it to me and I darn near dropped it but was able to get second hand on it to prevent dropping it. The only way I could ever fire his 45 is if it was mounted on a bi-pod or tri-pod because I cannot hold it up and steady it even with 2 hands................
2. To be a long range accurate shooter you almost have to make your heart stop beating before pulling that trigger. Very hard to do in my books but I am hoping they bring home the Gold this year if they live long enough to get in and out without being blown up by a Black Widow................jmho
3. I loved the Ozzie Osbourne commercial when they had several actor / musicians trying out for a commercial and when Ozzie was told that he got out by Justin Bieber, Ozzie looks somewhat confused in the camera and says   " Whats a  Bieber?"..............Just to funny and I laugh ever time I see it. The punk got his start on the Ellen Degenerate show and she pushed him into stardom and he never looked back. His mother admitted to giving him the RX drugs yet they didn't arrest her????? Speed Kills and that was proven about a month ago in a very similar car that Fast and Furious star died in while going way to fast and crashed and burned. This kid is headed in that same direction and all I hope is when it happens he does not take some innocent people with him..........jmho
4. I have 3 stickers on my Jeep Cherokee's back glass related to any type of gun message.   One is a Special Forces Sticker, one is an NRA sticker and the last one reads.......                                     "GUN CONTROL"            I think that gets my point across........jmho                                    means using both                                              Hands
5.  Well your probably right Sam. i do agree that in many past cases when you learn the shooters background in most cases they are listed as loners that are not popular and somewhat rejected by people in some form or fashion that causes them to do these things and they realize that people will know them after they are dead anyway. I have often wondered if they ever do take away our guns will these people begin using pipe bombs or other explosive devices to do the same evil deeds and which is the lessor of the two. Guns or bombs?. Look at how many deaths come from a belt wearing suicide bomber...............jmho
6.   I wish I could say yea Dave that it will end but if you go back in history there have been mass shootings dating back to the Roaring 20's when gangsters would do drive by's with Tommy guns blazing and they were not killing just their enemies but innocent bystanders also.  The first real mass shooting at a school took place back in 1966 and shooters name was Charles Whitman and he killed 16 people and wounded 32 others before they killed him. So there is a history of it dating a long ways back. Now if you take all of the shootings that are taking place today with multiple deaths involved and others wounded it is still a very low number compared to how many people now carry guns compared to back in 1966. I do realize that one death by gun violence is one to many but I have my doubts that with all the laws already on the books and every state thinking that can prevent them with even more laws are just trying to pacify the people who fear all guns and the politicians that think a new law written by them will win them another election. Guns don't kill people. People kill people and as long as people exist there will be a certain percentage that will kill other people whether it be with a gun , a hammer or a rock or a drunk with an automobile.................jmho
7.   I really don't see a lot of logic in most parts of your post so explain to me why someone would go shoot up a mall, school or any other GUN FREE ZONE to get on TV when in 99% of the cases the shooter kills himself. yea they make the news but are not alive to see it?????...........jmho
8.   Well I would have some Crappie and some Catfish filets to put in the deep fryers. I fish for Flathead cats because they are the best eating as long as they are in 3 to 6 lb range reason being they won't eat anything dead and are not a scavenger fish. They will only eat a food that is alive or an artificial that appears to be real and alive.
9. I sincerely hope that S&W and Ruger doesn't do like Jennings did. All they did was change the name of their junk guns to Jimmeniz and still continue building the junk in Nevada and shipping them into California. If they are going to move lets hope they move to a state that really appreciates them coming there...............jmho
10.   I guess that is why directly after buying every ones lunch they left without saying anything another word but he did request as one of his associates was taking orders for lunch if he could keep both emissions reports to take back to Washington. I told him yep, I didn't have anything to hide...... I just worked on cars for 35 years and knew what it took to make them fast and efficient. Some time I will tell yall what I learned about the unleaded fuel when ethanol is added and what is does to fuel mileage in some older and all newer cars......... :squint:  :squint:  :squint:
11. Now that is some kind of wicked for sure. I doubt there would be any walking away from that with any type of abdominal hit what so ever and surely it would sever and arm or leg.  Awesome for sure!!!!!!
12. Thats cool!!!! each time you click on it is a different type of fall.................    I like the long falls best. He hits more stuff.........
13. Great post Red. I'm sure you are very correct about our oh so famous Hollywood group of sissies and wimps that play a good soldier on the make believe screen that makes them wealthy but to actually put their careers on hold to serve their country.........Sorry but that will never happen. By the way he was not an actor but was from a very wealthy family but still serve his country of his own choice and that was John Fitzgerald Kennedy. U.S Navy  P.T. Boat captain that after having his boat cut in half by Japanese destroyer managed to save most all of his crew. I know he was not an actor but later became President.
14.   Ya know that is something we might need to look at doing this summer. Having a TGO cook out with families. We would have plenty of time to to plan one since I don't see winter leaving tomorrow. Only real issue I see is finding a gun friendly location out doors with enough room to hold one but surely we could find some place. Maybe someone has a farm that is a member here that would be centrally located so no one has to drive to far to get there!!!!  Would be kinda nice to be able to put some faces with names............jmho
15. Well, I will give you just a little insight on the older cars that probably a few already know. Back in 1989 the EPA sent some of their( so called) smart people to Nashville to see how we were doing with our new emissions tests and going around to different repair locations to see how many had purchased 2 gas and 3 gas analyzers to set emissions on cars prior to testing at one of their centers. The boss sent them out to talk with me on purpose because he knew how much I hated EPA and their programs. They were doing all this bragging about how all of the new emissions products being place on the new cars was cutting down on air pollution and I told them they where so full of crap that their eyes were brown and I could prove it. They challenged me on proving it. Big mistake. At the time I was driving my 1956 Chevy to work. It had a 327/ 375 Fueler with twin 650 dual pumpers on it. Hooker headers, Iskindiarian Roller cam pre-advanced 4 degrees and twin roller Timing chain and 11.1 compression pistons with 3 angle cut valves and adjustable roller rockers. Hot rodders will understand all of that but anyway a really fast car. I asked them what they were driving and they had rented a 1989 Lincoln at the airport. I told them my 56 chevy would burn cleaner and provide less emissions then their 1989 Lincoln. They bet me lunch it wouldn't and I said lunch for every at the shop verses all 4 of them. They took the bet and we both headed to their testing center in Melrose about 8 miles from the shop. I pulled in one side and their driver pulled in the other and both cars got tested. When we got back to the shop we all including my boss looked at the test sheets. The Lincolns readings were with in range  with CO at 1.3 and HC at 2.6. Then they looked at my reading on my 56..   CO  .01     and HC .076. They could not believe it and they asked me how I did that. I explained to them that when the EPA put lower compression restrictions on the engines they automatically raise the carbon emissions. If they really wanted to fix the problem all they had to do was tell the auto companies to raise the compression ratio of their engines that was 9 and they moved it back to 8 to meet the new EPA requirements. They should have went up to 10.1 to1 but went the wrong way. Needless to say they bought Wendys for 11 people at the shop and left. Oh yea about 2009 the compression on most all car and truck engines did go to 10.1.1 to assist in emissions control. If any of you ever get the opportunity to get near a NASCAR race car or dragster while it is setting idling put your hand down near the opening of the exhaust pipes and you will be surprised. You will feel cold air coming out of the exhaust. Cold air means all of or at least 99% of the fuel is being burned in the combustion and no wasted fuel (emissions) is coming from the exhaust. If it is hot air the engine is not going to perform as it should because the power the engine gets is from maximum burn with in the combustion chambers of the engine.   Sorry for the long post...... :ugh:  :ugh:
16. The person who calculated this bit of information is now, and has been a professor at the             University of West Virginia in Morgantown for the last forty some years.               He says that:              A  clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons of gas a year.             A new vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons of gas a year.            So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction reduced gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.              The  government claims 700,000 clunkers were replaced so that is 224 million gallons saved per year.             That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.             5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption.              More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $90 per barrel costs about $450 million dollars.
17.      I heard about it back when I was much younger but cannot remember exactly when but I think it was while I was in high school that a teacher brought up how faster technology was moving. I bet that teacher never realized just how fast it was moving and if I recall it was in Science class.   http://www.lordsprayerpin.com/history/
18. I guess what most folks have or have not thought about this but for as far back as I can remember and that is about 55 years just about every household in the country that owned a gun had at least one 22 caliber gun in it. Be it a pistol or a rifle there was a 22 caliber in that house. Several houses had several with a few pistols and a few different rifle configurations from single shots to semi auto's. That is the main reason that 22 ammo seems to fly off the shelves faster than most other calibers. That is the only explanation I can come up with but how many folks here can say they don't own at least one 22 caliper gun of some kind in their home?....................jmho
19.     Well, I know back many years ago long before the technology we have today a guy was able to put the entire Lords Prayer on the point of a needle and when it was printed and looked at under a microscope and magnified 40,000 times you could actually read the entire Lords prayer on it so why with the new technology could they not micro stamp a firing pin many many times larger the the point of a needle?...................jmho
20. I have a sign that fits this post just right!!!!!
21. With things like this going on it won't be long before our country will be full of belt wearing suicide bombers and our highways filled with IED's.............jmho
22. Just another case of them trying to cover their azzes om Fast and Furious. The Feds wire all allowing straw buyers to get away in that case and did nothing. Now let 1 guy do something totally legal and they come down on him like a ton of bricks...."That's the Federal way"............jmho
23. All I'm gonna say about them is they are mean little critters for sure ad you think making a hornets nest mad. Thats nothing compared to pizzing of those little yellow critters............jmho
24. Ya'll keep talking about Crappie until I am going to have to go out to my freezer and get a couple bags of filets out and cookum up. I guess I have about 35 or 40 quart bags of Crappie filets out in my freezer. Deep fried Crappie, homemade hush puppies and home fries with onions does sound pretty good right now...................
25. I'm sure glad I was smart enough back in 08 to see this coming and stocked up enough of every caliber gun I own before the clasp of the ammo production. I still buy a box of 22WMR when I see some at a descent price but other than that I am pretty well set and don't really need any of that but will impulse buy if price is near affordable. I sure hate the way the LGS's are doing folks for sure. You can bet in many cases it is going to come back and bite them in the arse when this is all over. They will have to depend on the few special people to took care of to remain in business..............jmho
