  1. Well, I am sure that the world was not aware of the big data base that was storing all the phone conservations of people all over the world either until Snowden snitched it out and the data base for keeping all gun purchases would not require half as much space as the NSA was using to store the phone calls but they were able to do it. As far as trusting our Government???? Well that is another issue which I won't discuss at present.
  2. My Grandsons apartment was broken into over the weekend in Smyrna and they stole his wife's laptop, his guitar, and several other items like small Tv's. They didn't get his wife's gun because she had it with her. He is in the Military and in SC right now. They didn't get his Harley that he has stored in the extra bedroom but only because he has the keys with him for it and steering is locked but they said they tried to get it cause it was moved from where it was. I don't know how something like that can happen in broad daylight in an apartment complex and no one see it happening. Not one witness saw anything. Heck I live in a small triplex and no stranger can walk anyplace around here without someone asking them if they can help them with something. I guess it's just a case of no one wanting to get involved. They are looking at having an alarm system installed also that is monitored and has camera's now that they know he has that Harley in the bedroom he is worried they might come back. We watch for each other here at my house................
  3. Do you honestly believe they delete your back ground check if your gun purchase is approved? On the back ground check the seller has to list the make model and serial number of the gun you are purchasing to do the back ground check. Why do they have to do that if they are not keeping the records? The background check is suppose to be on you and not you and your purchase............jmho
  4. They are not tied to your license plate but if a LEO is following you and he runs your plate it will give him your name and DL number and then he can run your name and will be informed at that time you have an HCP.. They can find out in a matter of just a few minutes if you have an HCP. Anytime I travel which is slim to none anymore I will always check which states I will be passing through. If they are states known to have very tough gun laws and I want to avoid any possible issue I will change my rote if possible to avoid that state. Also it is smart to check reciprocity in that state to see if they honor TN HCP's......................jmho
  5. Ok, since I am not to smart on all these high tech gadgets.  I am now with Netflix and get about 10 or 12 movies a month. Sometimes more. Now with that said. Does Amazon offer a similar program like Netflix?
  6. Yea, I guess you may be correct but I think it will take more than a video to convince and truly Anti 2nd Amendment person to change their mind. It will take a live experience that happens to them before most will actually begin to see the real truth of wha we are saying..............jmho
  7. I think it was an interesting video but did she really say anything that 99% of all gun owners don't already know?  I think most of the folks here already knew all these facts. For those who don't it is very informative................jmho
  8. I grew up in Illinois and it's true about Illinois. If you get 50 miles away from Chicago going west or southwest you do get into an area of the state were the more conservative people live. Mostly good ole farmers and country folks much like folks down here. They are friendly and wave at each other while driving down the road passing folks sitting on their front porches or out in their yards. Now when you get around Springfield it kinda sucks again but then that is where the politicians are located so you can expect them to be stuffed shirts with attitudes bu for the most part other than those two areas folks are pretty much nice folks.................jmho   Never been to NY and don't have any plans on going. I do know a few folks that ahve moved down here from upper part of NY state like around Buffalo and they seem to be fine folks and they moved out of there because they don't agree with the politics either.
  9. you never ever think you unloaded your gun. You make sure you unload it and not by pulling the damn trigger. That should tell folks about the intelligence of elected officials for the most part..............jmho
  10. I would for the most part mind my own business also. The only real issue is that she is bragging about being armed when in fact she is not. That alone raises red flags. That is why I would never report a minor that says they have a gun on them because you report it and it turns out he/she does not have one, that could come back to bite me.....................jmho
  11. in all honesty I sincerely hope he does quit making his violent movies because when he does people will quite paying big money at movie theaters to go see them and his pocket book will suffer and the NRA will continue to grow.  This movie they are about to release will only make many more people aware of how good the NRA is and their membership will grow from the free advertisement from the movie..............jmho
  12. Well, we just got back from an empty parking lot at Hendersonville Expo. He got pissed. Not because they cancelled the show but because they did not update it on the internet and it still showed that they were having it today. I told him that word was it was cancelled but he had to prove it himself. Made the trip worth while anyway cause I need a few things from Sams so we stopped by there and I got what I needed so not a totally wasted trip anyway.............
  13. Well, I guess  I'm going to the Hendersonville Gun Show tomorrow. My buddy just called and invited me to go with him. I thought they were not having them any more but he says they are................jmho
  14. Well since I have never been a Meryl Streep fan to begin with You can bet I won't be going to that one anyway. It will probably be the total end of her career as i believe she was already on the way out anyway. As for the Movie. I'm quite sure it will get some attention and probably turn more folks on to the NRA and help sign up more folks for it. Normally when ever there is something negative said about the NRA their memberships grow. Many folks thought that the statement Charlton Heston made right after the Columbine School Shooting would hurt the NRA but in fact it grew after he said it. Folks finally realized the NRA was not an organization that would be pushed around...............jmho
  15.     I live in Gallatin which is down the ridge from Portland. I need to do some research and see where the nearest Kroger store is to me in KY.
  16. This is for those of you that may have missed it when it first came out..You can almost relate to his experience!!!!       Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt pocket/purse-sized Tazer. The effects of the Tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety...?? WAY TOO COOL!!! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home...I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what the burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two AAA batteries, right? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and then thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and Tazer in another. The directions said that: A one second burst would shock and disorient your assailant A two second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; and A three second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting batteries. All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference (loaded with two itsy, bitsy AAA batteries) pretty cute really, and thinking to myself, "no possible way"!! What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best. I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side so as to say, "Don't do it stupid", reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny lil ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad...I decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and ..... HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. WHAT THE ....!!!! I'm pretty sure Hulk Hogan ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs! The cat was making meowing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room. Note- If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a Tazer one note of caution: There is NO such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by violent thrashing about on the floor!! A three second burst would be considered conservative! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. *The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. *My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. *My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. *I had no control over the drooling. *Apparently I had crapped in my shorts, but was too numb to know for sure, and my sense of smell was gone. *I saw a faint smoke cloud above my head, which I believe came from my hair. I'm still looking for my testicles and I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return! My wife can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift and now regularly threatens me with it! If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
  17. I have been invited to vote in the Peoples Choice Awards a few times. In all honesty I'm not sure how they make the choices on who votes but I just get a ballot in my google email ever so often and if I have seen the movie they are asking about or see the actor/actress in other recent movies they want your opinions on their acting and would you nominate them for the Peoples Choice Award.
  18. I can promise yall this. If I am in a store and some maniac comes storming in the door ranting and waving a gun and threatening to kill everyone in the store I will do everything in my power to end his plans as fast as possible. Like a post in the blazed mentioned. In that case I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I'm quite sure there will be enough very thankful people willing to testify in my favor..............jmho
  19. I might look at going up there to KY since I am only about 15 miles from State line. might be worth the trip if I do my main shopping for the month up there...........
  20. I was watching that 30 minute talk show Inside Hollywood and news program that runs before the 5Pm local news and they were talking about how upset Oprah Winfrey was for not getting a nomination or close to getting one for her role in the movie "The Butler". She said she was disappointed that her name was not even in the race. I loved listening to her whine and cry but the people spoke and made their point about how they feel about her. She is to stupid to realized it was not her acting but here politics that kept the people from voting for her. The same thing happened to Robert Redford. Never got a nod for a roll he play in a movie this past year. I don't recall the movie name but folks said the movie was a great one but still didn't give Redford even a nod. He made his politics clear and the people listened. These actors are going to have to get use to 2 facts. If they want to continue working in Hollywood in movies they will have to stay very liberal. If they do they will act but they will not get awards. They can either sell their souls to the Devil and work or become a respected pillar back in society and become a dedicated patriot. But they won't get both ever again on any awards that We the People vote on............jmho.  Also I will not go to any movie that any one stars in that has sold their souls to the Devil just to work. There have been a lot of actors and actresses that are not able to find work any longer because they will not go liberal and they have openly admitted that is why they cannot find work in Hollywood. Those folks I admire for their stance and if any do find work I will go see their movies.............jmho
  21. I have an Aldi's as close as my Kroger and Walmart. I tried them a couple times and bought some of their canned vegetables. What very disappointed in them. They were almost 50/50 water / vegetable mix. Had to use two cans to get a normal amount of vegetables for a meal where I use 1 can with other stores. I guess I should not complain. I live alone, just me and the old dog and I actually spend more money on her food items than I do mine sometimes. Some friends have told me I am crazy for spending that kind of money on a dog but she is my very best friend and if your going to have a dog it is your responsibility to provide for it just as you would any family member but that may only be my way of thinking. She loves to go riding in the jeep and back seat is all hers and the few times I don't take her like when I go fishing and take the bass boat and going to be gone a long time she has to stay home and guard the house. She pouts but then she gets rewarded when I get home with some Jacks Turkey Jerky and I am forgiven.......lol. I have to go to Sams once a month and buy her Turkey Jerky as Sams has the 1 pound bags you can't find in retail stores and they are only $8.98 a bag. Compared to the cost of real dog treats I can by Jacks there cheaper than dog treats made in China. Plus I can eat the Jacks jerky and can't eat the Chinese Dog Treats. I might look at Aldi's again for some other products like Bread, Milk, and odds and ends stuff.
  22. I have thought about sending some to a few people as gifts but changed my mind. Don't know if the might be some legal ramifications that may come from it and me getting sued for "reckless endangerment"!!!!! :ugh:  :ugh:  :ugh:
  23. I don't know but I thought the tests they did on the two Japanese cities to end WWII pretty much proved they worked. Why all of the testing is beyond my imagination. Seems like once they knew they worked and worked well that should have been enough. I guess they figured they had money to burn so blow something up...................jmho     It does kind of explain why California has about 500+ fault lines in the state along with a few other states out there. I wonder if they ever gave any consideration that they could have set off that earth destroying hot bed in Yellow Stone and sped up the end of time. I was watching a program about earthquakes the other night. The expert was asked by the interviewer where the worse most dangerous Volcano is located and his reply was Yellow Stone National Park and it is ever pops it's cork it will most likely be the end of the earth.  And our government is popping nukes off under the ground in Nevada??????????
  24. For years Kroger Stores have been offering a 10% for Senior Citizens on the 1st Wednesday of each month. I just saw on the news that they are cutting it back to 5%. They said to off set the change they are making it 5% every Wednesday of the month. adding the other three days a month does not make up for it as far as I'm concerned because like most Seniors I shop for my home once a month and do 95% of my shopping on the one main trip. The rest of the time it's things like milk, bread and something I may run out of. 5% puts them in the same price range as Walmart or may make Walmart a little less. I may have to do a little price checking now on the items I buy and see who will get my business.......jmho
  25. Stupid is as Stupid does!!!!!!! Maybe Big Bubba can teach him a few lessons during his stay in the Gray Bar Motel...............
