yea and i knew about the one at Purdue yesterday but that one ended with 1 dead and shooter surrendering to police. they said in that one that the person killed was evidently the target and once it happened there were no more shots fired and no one else hurt. the shooter surrendered to police soon as they arrived with no other incidents.

Now in all honesty it may just be me but I really don't see al that many people OC'ing or I am just not paying attention. The few I have seen looked very proper in the way they represented them selves and we all polite. I have seem many more people that print than I have that open carry. I carry concealed all the time and do my best not to print but that is just me.

Bad news tonight the dreaded "c" word for my dad
bersaguy replied to zgunbear's topic in General Chat
Prayers coming in from here in Gallatin for your father and your family. My father also had it and he beat it and went on to live another 10 years before being taken by a heart attack so don't give up on him just yet. Things to treat it have improved a lot since my father had it......... -
This is just my opinion but I wonder where the backbone went in most of the American people? I remember when I was just a kid living in a small town and when the local elected officials did something the people in my hometown didn't like they would gather together and make a trip to the town hall and have a long hard drawn out discussion with the elected officials and in most cases what the officials did quickly got undone and went away. Did that way of doing things die when out parents and grandparents died off. I know the youth of today in most cases have no clue what life was like back when I was a kid growing up because they have re-written all the history books. I never forgot my roots and both my sons and grandsons have been taught about their grandparents and great grandparents and what they believed in and they live those same roots. If the parents and grandparents don't begin teaching their children what life is suppose to be like and not as it is right now they will not learn anything except what the LEFT wants them to know and nothing more.............jmho

I won't argue that fact because there is a good chance the perp might just move on but I'm just not willing to OC and find out............jmho

Well, I have my own opinion about open carry but I won't judge anyone on their decision either way. It is their right either way. My self, I never carry open except in my own yard. I have always thought if I were to ever be in a situation of a robbery taking place, if the robber enters the place and does walk through to see if he can find any guns he may have to deal with I don't want to be his first target when he makes his move. An open carry person may very well get shot in the back of the head to eliminate the threat before he makes his move to rob the location. I would rather be the guy that may be the person that prevents folks from getting hurt by taking the perp down before he can hurt someone but that is my opinion. Like I said the OC CC is up to the individual and not up to me to judge.................jmho

A great public relations video and a great LEO for taking time out to pitch the ball around with young boy. That boy will remember that for years to come and probably have much more respect for the police in his future..........jmho

The way I see it, as long as we allow the Democrats to hold the Senate and block every bill the Republican House sends them the more down hill our country will go. If things do not change in the Senate in the elections this year that will give the Obamination the time he needs to finish destroying our great nation. I do not plan on just sitting back and putting my head in the sand and awaiting the outcome with out doing my part to try and change it for the better................jmho

Believe it or not the Glock is the only gun he said he will not buy nor will he buy anything that even remotely is shaped like a Glock. He does not want a fat bodied bulky looking firearm so is it is a square block looking gun it will not even be considered by him. He said he has seen them and they profile a lot when concealed carry. He has spotted many of them on people while just walking around in stores and knows it in most instances they are Glocks. My other Grandson owns a Glock and loves it and he is a deputy sheriff in Cheatham County. Difference between them is he weighs in at about 325 and the one looking for a gun is weighing it at about 160. He has handled the Glock my big grandson carries and it is not for him.......

A friend and I grew up hunting rabbits with beagle hounds. I had one and he had one and we would hunt with both dogs. There we many times my dog would get lost because John Henry was a slow tracker while my buddies dog was faster but would lose the trails many times due to his speed and he would over run them or hole the rabbit. John on the hand tracked much slower and seldom ever lost a scent trail and his range would be much farther out. If he didn't return by dark and was out of range for me to hear him I would take off a few pieces of clothing such as cotton long sleeved shirt and maybe even socks and leave them by a tree. I would blow my whistle several times and the we would load up his dog and go home. Every time I went back the following morning John would be sleeping on my shirt and other clothing I left for him. Had John 15 years before he passed away. Was the best beagle I ever had for hunting in my life..........JMHO

Gosh, they would have a field day if we had that same ordinance here in Gallatin. I have at present time 8 tube type bird feeders up ad just filled the this morning because weather is going to make it hard for the little feathered critters to find food. I also have 4 squirrel feeders with I also filled this morning so they could have full bellies on these cold nights. I go through approximately 125 lbs of bird seed a winter and at least 150 pounds of whole kernel corn and nut mix for squirrels a winter. I also have a buddy with a large oak tree that produces huge acorns every year and I take my shop vac to his home each fall and will gather about 50 to 75 pounds of acorns to mix in the corn nut mix. I really enjoy watching the wild life in my yards and as far as that ordinance up in Pennsylvania, that s just a ridiculous program at best. The animals are GODS creatures too, just as are humans. Should we also quit feeding the hungry less fortunate humans also?.................. jmho

I had an issue with both of my Bersa's failing to lock after last round and had Sam look at them and it turned out to be the after market magazines. Sam did a little adjusting on them and problem solved. Now they lock every time on every mag.

I do plan on going up to Sumner Gun and Supply with him when he gets back in town and let him shoot my Bersa Thunder 380 to begin with and if Sumner Gun Store has any others he can shoot I will make sure he gets to shoot as many as they have they will let him fire some rounds through. I want him to get what ever he is most comfortable with that fits him. He's an Army Ranger and I'm sure he will be able to find the right one for him since he has shot several 1000 rounds in both combat in Afghanistan and on the range on base. Thing is he is time limited on how long he will be home so will have to move pretty quick once he gets home.

Sounds very much like the same kind of break in that took place in Hendersonville at the N Range gun store. Smash and grab type of hit and they only took Semi Autos in that one but Pawn shop probably didn't have as big a selection to chose from. Hope they catch all of the bas--rds and jail them for life..............jmho

Now your talking. I had a TCP 380 and a buddy talked me into selling it to him and I have kicked myself a dozen times for ever selling it. That was one of the things I was looking at with the PT92 was the fact it says it's a double action which is what my Bersa's are and I love that fact about them. Was also one of the main reasons I bought 2 of them at once. I cannot believe the Bersa Thunder 380's were about $219.00 when i bought them and now they are closer to $300.00 just a few years later. I love my greanson a lot but he will never get to see my pride of the 380 line. I have a Llama 380 ESpecial lemon squeezer that everyone that sees it falls in love with it so it will not be fore his eyes.............

I do plan on taking him to the range up here at Sumner Gun and Supply when we shoot my Bersa's as I have two of them. Liked them so well when i bought them I bought a pair. With that said, I know the 32 is dying breed and I have told him I was doubtful I would even be able to find a large frame in a 32 caliper any more. The one I bought for his wife to carry while he was out of town on tours of duty was not new but almost new and came with 3 boxes of ammo and had a great price on it but like I said it is a ladies guy and pretty pink......lol. I can't even remember what brand of gun it was but they went to the range and it performed well for her so I guess that is what counts there. Since they broke in their apartment this weekend he wants to have a back up gun in a mans size. For when he is at home on leave or for when he gets out, if he gets out. Right now he is on injured reserve from a night jump accident about 2 months ago.

Well, I saw better times in our country when the Republicans held the Senate and that is fact. I don't like Lamar either but if voting for him will help win the Senate I will vote for him. I know a lot of people think the House is not doing anything but in all reality they have been working their butts off trying to just keep our country together. They have sent over 1000 bills to the floor of the Senate that would have helped our country rebuild and Dirty Harry and Botox Pelosi has not allowed them to go to the floor for a vote. They are scared to death a few democrats might vote for a few of them and that would never work in an Obama administration. A lot of the good things that came out of the Clinton White house (and I know this will make some folks mad) came because Newt Gingrich knew how to work the Senate and House so they would work together. Say what you want about Gingrich but the man is smart when it comes to politics. I know I will get beat up on for saying that but if you look at his political record and not his personal life you could see it. He made Bill Clinton look real good. Good enough he got elected for a second term even with the Monica scandal. Oh yea Gingrich also did use the old Reaganomics program that was laid out for the older Bush to use but never did and he lost the election for his read my lips slogan rather than putting the Reaganomics program into effect. Gingrich knew the plan was a good one and he laid it out for ole Willie and wild Bill jumped on it. Reaganomics was put together by a Republican Senate and House. That is what we need again............jmho

The one I am looking at comes with a 17+1 and a 19+1 mags so should be enough to cover that issue. If a guy can't hit his target with 38 rounds throw the gun at them and run like hell the other way..........jmho

yea i know it weighs in at a hefty 34 oz. I just can't get turned on to the fat squared off Glock looking firearms. They just all look bulky. I am actually doing this as much for my grandson as for myself as he is also looking and he also said he does not want anything remotely Glock looking. Are there any suggestions of other brands of firearms I might look at. He is going to be back in town for a few days and I am going to let him pop some caps from my Bersa Thunder 380 to see if he likes it. He first said he wanted a 32 caliber because that is what his wife carries and he would only have to buy one caliper of ammo but he does not like his wifes gun because it is a smaller framed ladies gun. I told him he was not going to find a larger framed 32 caliper any longer. At least to the best of my knowledge no one is making a 32 caliper big frame semi auto?????? He said a 380 or a 9mm would be fine. He is an Army Ranger in training and they carry 9mm sidearms so he is relatively familiar with 9mm's

I still believe he does and I am 65 and will be 66 in 7 days. Just because you have never seen something does not mean it does not exist. I have never seen GOD either but I believe in him with every breath I take and all my heart and soul so why should I not believe in Santa..............jmho

I am looking at moving up a little to 9MM. I have been looking at several different models and i am now needing any input folks may have on a Taurus PT92. Have never owned a Taurus so can some folks here give me some input into this gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
