I think most every bomb maker leaves something behind that will lead to his capture. Even as smart as the uni Bomber was he finally got caught. If they ever figure out how to track the package itself and how it was delivered they will get their first lead...........jmho

Sinkhole swallows Corvettes in Bowling Green!
bersaguy replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
Yea, early 67 was last year for them. My brother has one of every year they made them and if there was more than one body style that year he has them all. He use to own a huge body Shop in Rockdale Illinois and owned it for about 40 years and once he could afford it he began buying up wrecked Corvettes at auctions and running them through his body shop and rebuilding them with all factory parts and once done he would add them to his collection. As years went by he began buying his wife a new Corvette every year and at the end of that year he would send it through the shop and have it completely reconditioned and add it to the collection. At last count he had one of every Corvette made from 54 up. The 1954 Corvettes had 6 cylinders in them and screens over the headlights. Ford rushed the 55 T-Biirds onto the scene to compete with the Corvettes and the late 55 Corvettes has v-8's in them. At one time he offered to sell his entire collection to GM when they began looking to put the museum together but they said they could not afford it at the price he was asking but they did come and look at it. I was never that big into Corvettes but he was. -
They did mention that it may have been a case of sending bomb to wrong house address also. I don't think it was but there is always a chance it was. They are telling everyone to be suspicious of an packages you might receive that you didn't order or don't recognize where it came from to call the authorities before messing with it. Hope we don't have a uni bomber that moved into the area.............jmho

Sinkhole swallows Corvettes in Bowling Green!
bersaguy replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
None of my brothers cars are in that list. He has a 1955 Corvette, 1967 Split window Stingray and 1959 Corvette in there and I just called him and he is considering pulling his out before they get damaged. -
"Loud Music" Murder Trial in Florida
bersaguy replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Sorry, but I cannot support this guys actions. Shooting a 17 year old kid just because he is playing music to loud it totally wrong on so many levels. I know there may be some things that are not being released to the news but the mans life was not in danger unless music can kill and turning around and walking away if the music annoyed him would have been the proper thing to do. I want to hear more because there has got to be more to this that is not being released or else the guy needs to go to prison for murder.............jmho -
Sinkhole swallows Corvettes in Bowling Green!
bersaguy replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
My brother up in Essex Illinois has three of his Corvettes on loan to that museum out of his collection. I hope none of his cars were included in that sink hole. You can bet he is sweating blood waiting to hear if any of his cars were in it. -

This is as good as I can help which ain't much but town of less than 1500 people and sitting on county line between two different counties sounds like a bit confusing cause that means everything in town would require two different elected officials for everything. Two county Sheriffs and the such..................jmho http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vonore,_Tennessee

Ok, I just got in touch with a buddy of mine that is a shotgun collector and has been for 50 years. He is more into Winchesters and has about 75 of the Winchester Model 12's in all different grades that were ever made but he does have some of the older Remington's and his educated guess is your gun was made back in 1957 which was to his knowledge the only year Remington did make a stainless steel 870 Pump. He said in about 1992 they did begin using a process called electroless nickle plating but is only used on the Magnum editions and came with laminated stocks and fore arms. He said if you do have one of the original stainless guns it is worth far more than the $250.00 you paid for it and since it is dressed in wood and not neoprene his opinion is you do have a 1957 model. That was his opinion but he said you could check further and make sure he is correct but he also added that the number you said was on the gun is an older style number compared to all the later models.

My mother left me an inheritance, it isnt guns, money or Gold
bersaguy replied to a topic in General Chat
Sorry for your loss Tanker and Prayers are being sent for you. You got something much more valuable than Gold Tanker. You have books of your Mothers Love. Things were different in my family. All of my family elders had great sums of money and as elders passed away there were only a few that earned the wealth and those were the ones least deserving of it but they figured out ways to swindle the rest of us out of our shares and that money did was divided my family and I have brothers I have not spoken with for over 10 years since my Grandmother and Mother passed away and the so called care taker brothers that cared for them in their last years managed to get all the Wills changed giving them all the wealth. But I don't miss the money of the relationship of my brothers. They will get their dues on judgement day and that is good enough for me...........jmho -
It actually did happen in New Orleans after Katrina when the National Guard was ordered to go in and disarm everyone and move them to the old dome and they were forced to remain there even though many wanted to leave and had a safe place to go but were not able to leave because the National Guard was ordered to contain them there. What right did the national Guard have to disarm people in their homes that were protecting their homes and property from looters? That was against the Constitutional 2nd Amendment rights of the people of New Orleans to disarm them. So don't say it can't or won't happen. It was never made big news because they did not want to draw attention to the fact it happened but do a little homework and you will find its true.

This administration has done as much as they can to demoralize our military they can think to do. Between the Litmus tests being given to all of the highest in command in all branches and removing those who refuse to say yes to the question of "would you order your men under you to fire upon American people on American soil if you were ordered to do so by the Commander-n-chief?" if they said no they are relieved of duty and either given a desk job or a retirement but never again would they be given a command position. That is a really a demoralizing way to treat our great Military Men and Women that have dedicated their lives to God and Country to make sure America is safe. Our Commander-n-Chief has proven time and again he wants followers and not leaders in our military.........................jmho

The people of Oak Ridge should be very proud of themselves for doing the right thing and giving another hero a great welcome home ceremony. It needs to be done a lot more than it is. I have a video of another vet that came hope under much different circumstances and I think an entire town turned out for it. More people need to show their support like they did in Oak Ridge today for our troops...............jmho

What ever you buy make sure you run a car fax report on it. If it has ever been wrecked or had major repairs done car fax can tell you. I know several people that used it and saved them from buying a car that was totaled and then repaired. I have done business with Harpeth Toyota and also Harpeth Ford back when they owned a Ford dealership and have always been treated well by the Alexander family. I think they own several different car brand dealerships now. They sell a lot of late model used cars also. Have not spoke with Mike or Barry Alexander in several years now.....................jmho

I'm not surprised about the brakes and brake lines as the car does have a few years on it but I am surprised that the 3.8 engine is giving issues. My Daughter drove her mothers 97 Buick La Sabre 300,000+ miles and the only thing that was never fixed or need repairs was that 3.8 motor. Finally bit the dust when she stopped and guy behind her didn't. Glad she was in that lead sled when it happened. She was not hurt but old Buick was history. Guys insurance bought her another later model car. Sorry for all that bad mojo your having with your car and hope it passes soon. If I had a car I was not using you would be welcome to it but only have one now.

Yea well, I don't see myself pulling over for a bright yellow Camaro just because it has Blue and red lights flashing on it to begin with unless I am in the middle of town with people everywhere. This ain't Hollywood and Hawaii Five O were they drive Camaros and then they don't drive bright Yellow ones even then...........jmho

I don't find it all that surprising coming from Justice Scalia since I think he is a Patriot that loves this country. Has the utmost respect for the Constitution and is trying to get the American people to wake up before it is to late and look at just what is going on all around them and even though many see it, they are of the opinion that it can't happen here or would never happen here and far to may people believe it when the Government says the the camps are being built to house what they say are and major influx of Illegal Immigrants. What is an influx since we already have 11 million + here now and none of them are in any of the already existing camps but instead receiving welfare and support from the Government with our taxpayer dollars. Like I said, Scalia is just telling America to wake up and smell the coffee.................jmho

Coke's America the Beautiful - Give me your thoughts
bersaguy replied to Shug's topic in General Chat
 I had to laugh about the kielbasa Sausage and Kraut meal your wife prepared for you. I grew up in a mixed home to but mine was a Yankee and a Southern Girl. My father was from Hickory Corners, Michigan and my mother was from Craggie Hope, Tennessee. My mother could cook about anything on a menu in about any restaurant from the finest top dollar ones in Chicago to the Ghetto's and everything in between. She was a Professional Chef much of her life and was employed as head chef in the Millionaire Club in Chicago for almost 10 years but only worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday when the high rollers came in so rest of the time she was home and cooked what ever she picked out and Kraut and Sausage was on the house menu at least three times a month. We also ate all kinds of Beans and Corn bread with fixin's. White, Pinto, Butter beans or mixed White and Pinto's. A real treat was Southern Fried Chicken with all the fixins. Now my Daddy being a Yankee(German decent) He did like the Kraut meals and liked Fish meals(Halibut) was his favorite along with Catfish I would catch and clean and she prepared. One night she fixed Salmon Patty fish cakes as something new. When Dad got in from work he sat down to supper and it didn't take Mom long to notice that he was eating some of everything but the Salmon. She asked him why he didn't eat any Salmon and his reply was he didn't care much for it. Now my mother cooked for her my father and four sons. Needless to say by the end of that week my Father developed a taste for Salmon Patty Cakes. We all had them for 4 nights straight and the last two nights my Father made sure he ate Salmon Cakes. Finally he asked her what her point was and she said that when she was growing up she was told that she ate what was put in front of her or she went hungry and she learned to acquire a taste for what ever was put on the table so she never went to bed hungry. From that point on until the day my Father died he always ate what my Mother put on the table but we also never had Salmon Cake patty's again. My Father learned to like Salmon and my Mother got her point across that if she is going to sweat and prepare a meal for 6 all 6 were going to eat what she cooked........My point to this is there is not anything in the way of food that is put on a table I won't eat but there are a few things I choose now not to eat at age 66 but only a couple. Now I know this is about as far off the topic of this thread as a person may go but I thought that Coke and America the Beautiful both needed a break.... :hiding: ...........jmho -
Oregon Senate Antigunners' Worst Headache
bersaguy replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well one thing for sure is I think they know how he feels about their laws they are trying to pass and they know he won't be voting for them next election. It is refreshing to hear from someone that has lives in a Communist country such as Cuba to get up and tell the politicians exactly how life was an how America save him and made him a free man. To many politicians have forgotten exactly what America stands for or don't care but he made it quite clear what America means to him and our Fore Fathers...................   -
TX Grand Jury no-bills man who killed Deputy
bersaguy replied to Chucktshoes's topic in General Chat
I think it should all be considered before a warrant is issued by any judge just what it is for and what the threats are. Then he/she should make the decision of how, where and when the warrant is served and should not be left up to the discretion of the law enforcement personnel. All factors need to be in play before the warrant is issued.......................jmho -
I probably have more than I would ever shoot in all calibers I own and like many have said, depends on the situation. If it's a home invasion only need a magazine or two. If it riots and your protecting your home and very existence to survive may need a considerable more. If the law comes to take your guns and ammo you know your going to be out gunned and out manned so you have a couple choices. You surrender or you go down in a blaze of glory which would probably last all of about 15 seconds before they blow your house up with you and anyone else inside. So as to how much one needs. I know I think I have all I need to both defend my home against gangsters and home invaders which I would pile up in the door way and may have enough to do a little bartering for things I needed for survival. But in an all out assault by police swat teams or military national guard notta!!! But at that point it really wouldn't matter.................jmho It does appear like when our Commander -n-Chief realized he was not going to have a simple task of just telling folks to give up our guns is when he decided guns are nothing but clubs without bullets so he went after those and has somewhat succeeded but cannot claim total victory yet as the ammo companies are still running wide open to get ammo on the shelves. Expensive but still there anyway. I saw yesterday that Ammo to Go had some 22lr but only hard nosed and was not cheap but not totally outrageous.

cops goes ballistic over " go get a warrant" (language)

Whats to say that is not what he acts like in a real life situation. I think both of them need some serious mental evaluations to see if they need to be police officers......................jmho
