  1. Well, I don't know that much about the Examiner but I was expecting something similar to show up sooner or later. The Police Officers took an oath to protect the Constitution and the Constitution Trumps any local or state laws written in an attempt to over ride the laws laid out in the Constitution. By refusing to enforce the laws written at state level the State police have the protection of the Constitutional oath in which they took when becoming State police officers and also they will earn even more the respect of the people they are paid to protect....................jmho
  2. That is very funny for sure. Loved it!!!!!!............................................
  3. I am only 66 , gosh ONLY 66........... :ugh:  and I don't apply to a lot of this but I do have the manners and up bringing's mentioned and I remember the stories my father spoke of while he served in WWII which were not often so I guess I qualify as a Jr Ole Fart  but I thought folks would like to see just what it takes to be an official Ole Fart.................
  4. Glad you were not hurt with the optima accident and glad to see you found a very nice replacement for it. Nice Upgrade...............
  5. Still chalk one up for the good guys and it does prove that the system that is in place does work even though the Anti gun folks say it doesn't............jmho
  6. They do learn when the hot lead hits them square in the chest. I think they call it on the job training, they are on the job and the homeowners are the trainers and bad part is the homeowner does not receive hazardous duty pay for the training they provide.................jmho
  7. I never really liked the terminology "Old Farts" but this makes me feel better about it. And if you ain't one, I bet ya you know one! I got this from an "Old Fart" friend of mine! OLD FART PRIDE I'm passing this on as I did not want to be the only old fart receiving it. Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called, as you will see.     Old Farts are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the National Anthem. Old Farts remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.     Old Farts remember World War II, Pearl Harbour , Guadalcanal , Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam .     If you bump into an Old Fart on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Fart on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Farts trust strangers and are courtly to women.     Old Farts hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.     Old Farts get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.     Old Farts have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grandchildren.     It's the Old Farts who know our great country is protected, not by politicians, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country.     This country needs Old Farts with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.     We need them now more than ever.     Thank God for Old Farts!     Pass this on to all the "Old Farts" you know. I was taught to respect my elders. It's just getting harder to find them.
  8. I could not make up my mind which pictures to choose so just posted the link of Military Cemeteries in France so folks can make up their own minds on subject.......................jmho   https://www.google.com/search?q=american+military+cemeteries+in+france&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=958cU5-WHobyyAH4ooCYDA&sqi=2&ved=0CDwQsAQ&biw=1152&bih=675
  9. One of my favorite BARS................................
  10. Yea, I may have the dates wrong but I was drawing it up from memory and mine ain't all that good any more but I wanted to bring it up because I thought it was kind of funny when he told that guy at the gate that he could not find a Frenchman anywhere at the time kind of rubbing his nose it the fact that American's liberated France in WWII. Now with that said I do have a lot of respect for the people in France. Has anyone ever looked on line or been to France and seen how nice and neat and clean they keep the American military cemeteries up over there. They are kept in pristine condition.................jmho
  11. Since we have been discussing passports in one the  threads this story came to mind.     Back several years ago a bunch of teachers both active and retired where taking a trip across Europe. There was one relatively elderly gentleman on the trip and when they reached France the older gentleman was looking through his bag for his passport. The Frenchman at the gate was growing very irritated with the older gentleman and he said you should have had your passport ready. The older gentleman said he was sorry and again the  gate keeper repeated that he should have know he would need a passport to enter France as that has always been a requirement. Finally the old man looked up at the gate guard and said well last time I was in France was 1941 on a beach and funny thing is I could not find a Frenchman anywhere to show a passport to back then. The gate guard got very quiet and calmly waited while the old gentleman found his passport. Complete attitude change took place. Funny how things are forgotten till they are brought back to someone attention huh!!!! I read that and I had to laugh because a buddy of mine happen to know the old gentleman that was on the trip.
  12. Thanks for the update. I have never needed one as the only time I traveled out of country was while in military. I just know a friend of mine told me he had to renew his pretty soon and I asked him if he was planning a trip and he said nope but one never knows these days and I said that's true............jmho
  13. That would never work here. Remember School buses like schools are GUN FREE ZONES but I like the idea................. ........jmho
  14. I thought after learning of the two stolen passports it may have been a bomb but then I looked at the dates in which the passports were taken. One 6 months ago and one 2.5 years ago. The one that was 2.5 years old would have been out dated and should not have been approved for flight yet that person was apparently on board according to the passenger manifest and so was the other guys that was stolen 6 months ago. Everything about the subject seems blurred and will probably take some time to sort out and no telling if they will ever recover the black boxes.........jmho
  15. I was a volunteer fireman for about 7 years and during that time I learned just how stupid people can be about moving over or yielding to emergency vehicles which meant most people were brain dead to there presence and almost ignored them. I did have a few fender benders along the way as I did hit a few cars that did not yield to me at intersections and in every case they got the ticket for fail to yield to an emergency vehicle. I hope the Grand mother and little girl have a full recovery. As for the driver of the car. I think jail time and loss of drivers license for life would be a fitting punishment. If she cannot see a big yellow bus with all kinds of flashing warning lights on it and stop sign out she is to dense to have a license. That is one thing I can say about this area I live in. They make sure there are crossing guards at all school cross walks and when school is letting out you will find a squad car at almost every if not every school zone and if your speeding or fail to yield to the crossing guards signals you can expect a big fat ticket or maybe two. They don't mess around here when it comes to school zones and school children. I can remember when it was like that in every school zone but a lo of budgets don't allow that kind of protection for our children any longer is all I hear from some school districts.............jmho
  16. Very moving story and I am quite sure the boy did it not for the news coverage but for the uniform and his father. That particular news organization sends that particular man out to seek out human interest stories of people doing good things for other people and that is all he reports on. I am quite sure no one from his family contacted the news and that is was the Colonel that did the contacting................jmho
  17. I don't think by looking at his picture on the news that he would be smart enough to make that kind of move. He has a severe issue with women in general. He even shot his own mother in the knee with a 9 MM hand gun and threatened to kill another girl with a hand gun. The guy is not wound tight enough to pull off a negotiation on the death penalty deal in trade for her body but I could be totally off base...............jmho
  18. Is the form you filled out at DMV the same one they send you to mail in? If so I can just take the form I have filled out with me to DMV and give them the check.
  19. I guess I will mail it in. Mine is good for 3 more months so I should not have a problem getting it back before mine expires. I will just date it as it is all I have left to do on the form and put a check in there.  I will go drop it off at post office tomorrow and pray they get it. Postal service has not been to good recently.............jmho
  20. yea, I have already looked it over and it has changed a lot since the first time I applied. A lot more questions pertaining to mental capacity. I guess they are wanting to see if I am crazy or not. Not really any trick questions but need to read each one very carefully. Do you have to fill out this same form at the Drivers License center, I wonder. If so I will just fill this one out and take it with me.
  21. I just received my renewal for my HCP and it says I can renew by mail or go to the nearest Drivers license Center and renew it. I would like to hear opinions on which way folks have renewed theirs and which way they find to be the easiest. I have a Drivers License Testing Center  3 miles from my house that during the week is fairly slow traffic wise. It is my first renewal process so opinions would be nice to have. Thanks in advance.
  22. This argument has been going on now for about 10 years. It began when it was on California property. After years of fighting over it California made the Federal Government a deal to lease the land because the Monument was considered a War Memorial from Korean War so the Federal Government agreed to it and leased the property. Once the Federal Government took possession of the said property the people fighting to get the monument removed had to begin the case all over again and fight it at the Federal level. I have been kind of keeping up with it but it comes and goes and you don't hear anything for sometime and then it pops up here and there again.......................jmho   Personally my feelings are they need to leave it alone as is represents to heroes and fallen of the Korean War. They at times have even demanded that all of the crosses that mark the graves in all of our military cemeteries removed and they didn't get anywhere with that either to date.
  23. My :2cents: is people are watching this a lot more than some people may think. The sticker shock they found once they were actually able to get the site up enough that people could actually get quotes has got lots and lots of people watching it. I just hope that the ones really watching it learn by their mistakes made in the past and don't repeat them again. I think when folks try and go back and get their old policies and learn they cannot get them back it is going to get really crazy. The President says one thing and the insurance companies are saying another and the Insurance companies are on the winning end because they cannot be forced to write the old policies just because the guy in the oval office says they can. People are going to learn that really fast.................jmho

  25. I say let Russia have the Ukraine and let them take on the added cost of keeping the country up. The old USSR went broke trying to support both their military, their space race and trying to keep all the satellite countries they conquered fed and under control. Let them do it again. As long as they stay out of America's business and out of our country let them have all of Asia. We have proven we don't need imported oil or natural gas for our country to operate just fine. We don't need any products made in Russia and for that fact China either. We can bring our industries back on line right here in America and begin putting Americans back to work. First thing we do is get rid of the EPA and all their stupid regulations. Bring NASA back on line, quit wasting billions of dollars exploring Mars and start putting that money back into the economy right here. We can jump start it in the mid-terms by putting the right people in the Senate and House and taking away the Pen and Phone power from the Oval office and Lame Duck the Prez his last two years....................jmho
