Dang, Texas is getting hammered first with the pandemic and now they have a Hurricane going to make land fall on Saturday. They can't catch a break here recently!!!

I have had a few Mouse guns over the years but I always let someone talk me out of them. The only one I have I could call a Mouse gun is my Phoenix 22 and I do put it in my pocket when Darby and I go for walks even living out here in the sticks. I have probably put 500+ rounds down range with it and even though Fox has said that Rimfires will misfire and I have had that happen in long guns but I will have to say I have yet to have my Phoenix ever fail to feed or fail to fire and I have tried to get it to fail by using some really cheap ammo up to the CCI Stingers and it eats them like candy. I have tried to get it to malfunction by firing slow all the way to as fast as I can pull the trigger and it will eat the 10 round magazine up and want more. If I ever have to use it to defend myself I will empty the magazine into the perp and put a back up mag in that is with me in my pocket incase the perp wants more. It's a tad heavier than I like for a pocket gun but that comes with it being an all steel gun. I have been wanting another LCP. I have owned 3 of them and I have always let someone talk me into selling it to them. If I ever get my hands on another one I will own it till I die!!!

I also saw this on the news and there is one thing that stood out to me. One of the trio arrested for shooting up the police stations was arrested just 1 day earlier on gun charges and running from the law in Brentwood and bonded out and the very next day he is loaded down with more guns and shooting up a police station. I wonder if the courts will see fit to allow him to post bond and give him a 3rd chance at possibly killing someone next time!!!!

I think a lot of what is being said may be true but I also think there are some masks out there that work to protect the wearer as well as the people around them. I just receive a number of masks that have replaceable filters that will protect you from intake as well as exhaust. You can just snap off the filter cover after a few times of wearing it and install a new filter. The filter material is made to filter in both directions. They are made of .005 Hepa filter material. The outside of the mask is made to be wiped down with alcohol clothe or alcohol swab to clean it after each use and can be used many times if maintained properly. It may not be the perfect protection but it is much better than the throw away paper masks and I was glad to get them for sure and I have made about 50 replacement filters made from a Hepa filter purchased at Lowes. Just remember to wash your hands after doing the mask maintenance. and maybe use some hand sanitizer also....JMHO

As far as being scared or not scared is not the point with me. I am doing everything humanly possible not to get it or possibly pass it on to any family or friends!! I have a bunch of masks and a bunch of Lysol to spray surfaces I use. I have about 6 bottles of sanitizing soaps on my sinks I wash my hands with and hand sanitizing bottles in every room. I have not been off this property in almost 3.5 months and my family does all my shopping and everything is handled with the most care and bags the groceries arrive in are sprayed with Lysol before discarding. So I am not out there tempting fate for me or my family. I am also not out there being an idiot just asking to get sick and possibly die.

Oh yea, one more thing. I have a Living Will that does state no heroics, Do not resuscitate to sustain life. Just keep me out of pain and allow me to die with dignity. I do have underlying health issues so chances are slim to none I would survive it and there would be no sense in my keeping an ICU bed occupied when a younger healthier person could be in the bed that would have a much better chance to get well. I have lived with a belief that I don't fear death as much as I fear so called life on machine. Just let me die with peace and dignity....JMHO

They wait till I got to old to use them and then they come out with fun new toys for big kids to play with...……...

I ain't skeered either. If it is going to take me I want it to be quick without a bunch of being dragged out garbage. I have all my arrangement's made so the family doesn't have to do anything except pick up a box with my ashes in it. I will go directly to the Funeral Home cremation furnace from whatever facility I am in. Family won't be able to change anything. I think Funeral Directors use family members to milk way to much money out of them at a time when they are not thinking right and mourning. I eliminated all that. The only thing family will be responsible for is picking out the Urn I will be buried in.

Yea, Darby has me pretty well trained and she is great company to have around for sure!!

Well gregintenn came by today and picked up the GPS. Was great to see him again. He came by my other house in Gallatin when I lived there back a few years ago. Had a short visit but was nice to see him again. He is a very nice guy for sure. Glad he got the GPS!!

With this many non gun owners now becoming gun owners I expect to hear or read about a lot of gun accidents because they have bought a gun without any training at all and don't have a clue how to use it. I just hope that they have sense enough to keep them up and out of reach of children!!…...JMHO

I think you are 100% dead on cause once people become accustom to wearing them and there is any chance to catch anything airborne many people will elect to wear them.

Just found this while looking for somethin else so thought I would post it!! Deaths due to COVID-19 may be misclassified as pneumonia or influenza deaths in the absence of positive test results, and pneumonia or influenza may appear on death certificates as a comorbid condition. Additionally, COVID-19 symptoms can be similar to influenza-like illness, thus deaths may be misclassified as influenza. Thus, increases in pneumonia and influenza deaths may be an indicator of excess COVID-19-related mortality.

I saw a new report that they are finding 1000's upon 1000's of masks and other medical articles discarded and floating in the oceans. I don't think American Medical personnel would be discarding these things in our oceans but I do believe that China and other foreign countries are capable of doing it!!!!….JMHO

Personal Self Defense Encounters?

"You have to ask yourself, where are these confrontational people and groups, protesters and threatening people doing the assaults getting lawyers from and how are they paying for it?" They are getting the money from the same people that pay them to do what they do!!!! Do you honestly think that they do this stuff for free?? There are billionaires supporting these movements and they are profiting from all this trouble they are creating!!! -
Hickory nuts falling of trees....squirrels don’t seem worried!

In Nature things change according to what is happening at that point in time and Mother Nature does what she needs to do to make things work right. May have been something different last year that is different this year....JMHO -
Hickory nuts falling of trees....squirrels don’t seem worried!
bersaguy replied to Randall53's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Trees are of course part of nature and nature will sometimes do things we don't understand but I had a similar issue back where I use to live with acorns. In mid summer the oak trees began dropping half grown acorns and I got concerned because I have a lot of squirrels that depended on them for food. I began asking a few people I had heard could give me my answers. I was told that the trees that have more nuts on them than they can provide water for will shed enough to be able to still have a healthy abundance in the Fall. Turns out they were correct and come Fall when the leaves began to fall the Trees were still full of acorns. I would imagine the Hickory Trees are probably doing the same thing. Hope so anyway! -

I agree on the hours but with the Virus they can't keep enough staff to answer the phones so they went from 8 to 12 until they can get some people back that went on 14 day quarantine!!! -
Personal Self Defense Encounters?

Well before he became a 911 operator he was Cheatham County Deputy for 3 years so he has worked on both sides of it. He does have his moments of just getting up and saying I need a break and walking outside and the others cover for him while he is walking around clearing his head. He works 12 hours shift 8PM to 8 AM and he said the real crazies start about 11 PM and even without going outside he can tell you when it is a full moon...…..LOL. He said the calls that bother him the most is when a very young child calls and it's hard to keep them on the phone till help arrives. They keep wanting to hang up but he said he has developed techniques to keep them talking till he gets an all clear report from the responding help. -
Personal Self Defense Encounters?

Well my grandson has been on the job a little over four years and to date he has to his knowledge never had an officer quiz him about a call. The officer may know that the caller he was responding to a frequent flyer but they still went. The officers in the field know more about where they are going than the dispatcher does. My grandson has been pretty good at being able to pick out bogus calls by talking to the person while waiting for the police to arrive. He keeps them on the line talking to him. He also listeners for anything that may be going on in the background and if the caller suddenly hangs up he relays that to the police responding. He's pretty sharp on things.
