  1. I love it but it hates me.....................  Use to eat it all the time when I was younger. When I feel I deserve to torture myself and my buddy calls and tells me he has some Jambalaya made up and will bring me some I tell him to bring it on. Then for the next 3 or 4 days I hate myself for saying yes...............
  2. The kid is going to be a very good golfer in a few years or so and he did give Bubba a run for his money through first 4 holes. I think it became the pressure of playing teamed with Bubba that rattled the kid. I saw that happen to some really good golfers when they got teamed up with Tiger in his early years when he was a hot shot and could make shots very few would ever try but I think his prime time is over. He is already having surgeries and they always mess folks up. I don't know what happen to Phil Mickelson. One minute he was doing good and all at once he was gone??? Was glad to see Fred Couples still out there knocking the ball around also. He didn't do bad to be 54 years old...............jmho
  3. Well, lets see........ I guess you could say I have two mouths to feed. Mine and the Queen is what my friends call her. That would be Kasey.  I have done a lot of shopping over the years and i have found some pretty cool places to shop. I cook for Kasey and she is very fond of Chicken Breasts so that's what she gets 5 nights a week but I have an outlet I buy them for her that makes it affordable. I cook about 8lbs in a  large crock pot a week for her and two nights a week she eats Pedigree dog food. He snacks are Jacks Links Beef and Turkey Jerky. You can buy them fairly reasonable in bulk and Sam's Warehouse in 1 lb bags and I normally by 10 bags a month and we share those. The there is about 8 boxes of Alpo Snack biscuits a month. Then with what I spend on myself for food each month I guess I spend about 350.00 to 400.00 a month of food. When I buy her chicken I go to a store near Gallatin that is only open on Fridays and I buy 10lb bags of good plump chicken breasts for $15.00 a bag. each bag has 25 breasts. I also eat the chicken, either grilled of deep fried or sometimes baked. It's a lot cheaper than Walmart and Krogers or any regular grocery stores. They also have Steaks, Short ribs, Pork roasts, beef roasts, hams bulk boxes of pork sausage patties, bacon, all kinds of frozen vegetables and 10 lb bags of Crinkle fries for about $4.50. I love their frozen Brussel Spouts. I normally spend 100 bucks there when I go and can eat for almost a month on meals and I seldom eat out. can't eat out as cheap as I can cook meals. About the only time I go to a real grocery store is to get things like Milk, eggs and butter. Most every thing else comes from Sam's or Gray's.

    Other hobby

I enjoy making soft plastic fishing baits. Hand pouring. Love experimenting with different color combinations and then going fishing to see if they will catch a bass or two. I have had great success with a lot of them and like I said it's fun experimenting. The whole thing about this is your imagination is unlimited and never ending because the color combinations are endless..........

    Bersa .380

I was not having gun functioning issues. Gun operated properly. I was allowing just enough soft grip to cause the gun to pull to the left slightly. Now that I have developed a double handed comfortable firing position the Bersa's are no longer shooting left for me but I am also not shooting at 15 yards that often any longer either. Now it is mostly 7 yards max at range.
  6. Thanks, I know lots of those places since I live right new Old Hickory and I will launch the bass boat and go check out some of the islands up in the river for them. Guess I better take something with snake shot in it and get out my wader boots. Suppose to get a cool day midweek. Might go then....jmho
  7. So sorry for your loss. I have had to put two of them down over the years and it rips my heart out every time. I lost one in 1995 that was the oldest dog my Vet had ever put down at age 21 and the facts were verified that she was 21 because he gave her her first shots when she was a puppy and was her vet her whole life. The second one was 15 and suffered a heart attack and even though he survived it the vet said his heart was extremely damaged and I will not see one of my best friends suffer so had him put down. Now I have Kasey which turned 16 last November and had vet visit for her yearly check up and flea&tick treatment and vet said except for her being slightly over weight, only 30 lbs over weight she is in good shape. In all honesty the vet said she needed to be put on a diet and I laughed and told the vet that she is on a see food diet now. Everything she sees she eats. My vet just laughed and said at her age that is probably best since that is how she was raised and any changes now would be fruitless. So we both agreed on that. Again, sorry for you loss.................
  8. hipower,  at present time the hottest 380 ball ammo I have found is Fiocchi and that was what I was shooting in the LCP. It seems to be a little hotter than PMC that I have been shooting.............jmho
  9. Well, like hipower said, I think this little gun will grow on me and probably remain with me. I have a buddy that has Kel-tec 32 Caliber he carries for back up and he likes it but he did mention the other day that he has been having a little difficulty locating 32 ammo. He is buying it when he sees it and I bought him a box and my granddaughter in law a box because she carries a Cobra 32 in her purse and her hubby was also having problem finding it. I spoke witha  few store owners about it and they said that because many companies have or are thinking about discontinung the manufacture of that caliber they figure the ammo companies will not be producing as much of it. Whats ya'lls thought on that?..........jmho
  10. I am just proud to still be here and I will think before I type from now on for sure and if I do something wrong please slap me across the knuckles like my teachers use to do in grade school. I don't know if any of ya'll ever had a ruler across the back of your hands when you were in school by teacher but I can still remember how bad it stung. Made it hard to write the rest of the day.........jmho
  11. Well, Bit the bullet so to say and bought myself a pocket pistol. Picked up a Ruger 380 LCP. Took it to the range today and all I can say is for such a small gun it's a hand full when the hammer drops........ Put 3 magazine loads through it and I will say. This is not a gun you visit the range with very often.... :ugh: It is fun kinda but you better stay on your toes when you pull the trigger and hold on tight with big hands.  Not sure I will own it long. Thing is for what the gun is designed to do it is perfect I guess. Guess I will have to give it some real thought.................jmho
  12. Ok Just for you......................jmho................
  13. I will admit I contacted the an administrator and got a reply back of Nope and a smiley face so felt a big weight lifted off e cause I love this place...............   and think it's :no1:
  14. I love them things but don't know where to look for them or I would go look for them. Can anyone offer up any type of locations to look in like dry areas of forest or moist ares in the woods? Maybe near small creeks in woods of shady hill sides?
  15. In al honesty this is going the be an issue that many many businesses are going to have to struggle with. If it does get to the Governors desk and he does actually sign it. There are going to be far more people businesses are going to have to deal with. with even more people having the right to open carry the businesses will finaly be forced to make a decision on just how many customers they are willing to give up before they accept the fact that people are going to carry guns and just how many will be taking the signs down to keep their customer base in tact.............jmho

    Bersa .380

I have a 380 Llama I enjoy shooting more than the Bersa's and I am far more accurate with it but I already know why. After caping off about 3 or 4 magazines from the Bersa I catch myself easing off on my grip just slightly enough to throw my accuracy off a tad. Can't do that with the 380 Llama because it has a lemon squeezer grip and if you ease off the grip it won't fire so I have to hold it more firmly which helps my accuracy with it.
  17. Sounds like fun. I have abuddy that keeps me loaded up with filets. I think right now I have about 15 bags of them in freezer..... :yum: :yum:
  18. I didnt get to see it today but but did yesterday and it was depressing I'm a Phil Mickelson fan and he had a very tough day. Don't know if today was any better. Hope so. Will watch it over the weekend while I fill fishing bait orders. Got TV in bait making room.......
  19. Flying Insect spray works well on them also. I have got 5 so far...................

    Gas prices

I only have one piece of advice for you. Make darn sure that all of your timing marks are lined up exactly when you install the belt. Once you tighten the belt tension recheck all timing marks to make sure none jump a tooth. They have interference heads and if you crank the motor and it is a tooth or more off on any sprocket it will bend all the valves in the cylinder head.  I recommend strongly that once you have the belt installed and tight turn the motor over by hand at least 4 or 5 times with the first one being slowly. If the timing is off it will lock down not allowing you to turn it over. Don't try to force it. That will tell you it is out of time without bending valves..................jmho
  21. Like I said in my previous post. In 2009 the shooter was stopped by an MP 15 minutes after he began killing our troops and was only stopped by another person with a gun. During this last shooting it was only stopped because of another person with a gun confronted the shooter but in the second case the MP didn't even have to shoot. Once the MP confronted iwith her gun he shot himself. That should be more than enough proof that the way to end the shootings on our military bases is to arm our troops with side arms even if they make it optional. Let the troops make the decision about whether they want to be armed and it will deter these idiots and take away a soft target GUN FREE ZONE.......jmho
  22. A little drive north to Smyrna and you can fish in the park near where Stones river dumps in Percy Priest Lake. They stocked a bunch of Trout in there back in March but don't know how many will still be there. It's a good place to catch a few Bass and maybe some Crappie.  You can follow the signs towards Fate Sanders Marina in Smyrna and fish around the Marina also..........Good luck and good fishing

LOL, well most of what you see in the red was at 5 yards and I was moving the target back every 10 rounds  2 yards at a time to see how well the new out of the box gun was working. It showed me that the farther out it got the more the sight was shooting left. I did some adjusting on the rear sight and put up a new target and was able to shoot better center mass more consistently as I moved the target out to the 15 yard area but I can't find it but when I do I will put it up. I don't really plan on needed to shoot anything at 15 yards but just nice to know if I needed to I could. I was so impressed at the accuracy of the Bersa 380 at 15 yards that I bought a second one a week later and it is as good as the first one...... I would have appreciated the help with my grouping if I was having issues. I never turn down good advice from a  friend........
  24. Well, I have always been in favor of our soldiers to be allowed to have side arms while on an American base in country. The proof of it was provided in the last shooting but it seems that most have missed it when it was reported. They said the shooter was on a rampage and shooting everyone he could right up to the point he was faced against another armed person. At that point he quit shooting and shot and killed himself. Had our military people all had sidearms on how many would he had shot before getting shot? Probably none because when he was faced against another armed person he shot himself. That very possibly means he would have gone off somewhere and killed himself without hurting anyone else or he would have picked another soft target off base. The shooting back in 2009 at Ft Hood was also ended when the shooter was taken down but another armed soldier MP but only after having his way for over 15 minutes before the MP's arrived. Had our soldiers been armed the shooter would have been dead a lot quicker with far less death and carnage. Unarmed soldiers on a military base are as vulnerable as a Gun Free School Zone and we have seen how well those work...............jmho

    Bersa .380

I would like to find a 22 caliber in the Bersa Thunder series and I am seriously looking at buying one from Buds but right now I think all he has is duo tone and I want Black matte.
