Prayers sent and hope they can begin to help her after the tests............

Prayers for all involved on both sides. Very sad situation and Randall is correct. An accidental discharge would not be near as newsworthy as the way it is worded.

I hope you get it back and if it was hidden in truck my guess is someone that knew you or knows you........jmho. My home was burglarized back in 1988 and 17 guns were taken. Mine and both of my two sons shotguns. It was reported and all serial numbers recorded with Sheriffs office in report. Home owners covered the loss but many of the guns had sentimental value insurance can never replace. It has been almost 26 years since the guns were taken and to this day not one of them has turned up anyplace. Not pawn shops, crimes scenes, traffic stops or anything else. There is little doubt it was not someone that knew my family and knew we we not at home but at the hospital because my oldest son was in a coma from an auto accident and we had not been home for over 2 weeks so it was someone that knew us and our situation. I do call the Sheriffs office about 1 time a month and ask but get the same answer every time. I do hope you recover your Beretta.

He will surely be missed. Rest in peace Mr. Rooney and Heaven is a much better place now if that is possible.

Prayers sent for a speedy recovery and it is nothing more than passing virus that can be treated and you back up and around quickly... :(

She is a beautiful dog for sure and if I didn't have Kasey I would be driving to Knox County to bring her home. I can tell by her face she is a smart dog. How old is she and has she been spayed? I will ask around here to see if I can find a home for her.

Needless to say his parents still have never been told because I figured if he felt they needed to be told it was his choice to tell them and not mine. He came for advice from me in confidence and I will never break that with anyone. And R_Bert her name is Diane and not Grace but I know what you meant...... :biglol: He still reads the Bible and he and his girlfriend attend church often. He did come to me one time and just walked up and put his arms around me and said thanks in my ear. I said your welcome and it was never mentioned again.

I have purchased a lot of handguns in my life and cannot ever remembering wanting to lay one gun on top of another to compare them. I thought most folks could do that by picking them up one at a time or one in each hand and telling by the way they feel if it would be something they would want to purchase. Just today a buddy of mine and I were comparing the size of his 32 Kel-Tec to my Taurus 380 LCP but we could do that just by holding them side by side with one in each hand. The only difference really was weight and that was 32 rounds verses 380 rounds but guns were same size. As for the clerk, well , sounds like he was kind of a jerk by his actions but I would not be back in the store more from his actions than anything else but like several have said. They are not the only store around that would like to have your money.....................jmho -
I will have to admit this has been an enlightening discussion and a lot of peoples views have been expressed. Let me tell this to everyone because I realize that many have said many different things about homosexuals and or gays and I respect each ones feelings. About 5 years ago I had a grandson come to me with a problem that he didn't feel he could talk to his mother and father about. He was having difficulty with his sexuality feelings. He had dated while in High School some but never quite felt comfortable around girls. So when old enough he secretly be began going to a gay bar and said he felt more comfortable there than in a regular bar. He ended up dating a few males and was even more confused because after that he was more uncomfortable. So he came to me for help. I was caught totally off guard. That is just not something you ever expect to be faced with discussing especially when he knew how strong willed I am about those type issues. He began to weep as he knew it was something he was not proud of yet so confused about. I finally asked him to stop weeping and handed him a box of tissues. I said son, your 22 years old and still have a long life ahead of you. Maybe your pushing yourself to hard in to many different directions all at once. If your not comfortable with either sex right now then put that on hold and begin to set other goals for yourself in life. I asked him if he liked his job and he said no. I asked him if there was a job he did like in his past and he said yes. I asked him what it was and he said busing tables and being a waiter. I told him to find a job doing one of those and put every bit of effort into that and see what happens. I also handed him his Grandmothers bible and I told him to read a little bit when he found time. He found a job as a waiter at an Ol'Charlie's about two weeks later. He also began reading his grandmothers bible when time permitted. Today he is a totally different young man today. Knows exactly where his life is going. He has been asst Manager of that Ol'Charlies now for almost a year after his manager put him through their management program. He brought his Fiance' over to visit about two months ago and will marry her in June. He asked me to be best man at the wedding. Now with that said. Was I upset after he left? Yes and No. Did I still love him knowing what he had just told me? Yes because he is my grandson. Did I lay awake that night wondering if he would make it to where he wanted and needed to be? Of course I did but I knew I had done all I could do and I put it in GODS hands and said a special prayer before I went to sleep that night. Now did I ask myself could I still love him if he came to me and just told me that he was gay? In all honesty I gave that a lot of thought because in the back of my mind I knew that someday he may come and tell me he is because of how he felt about his life. I made up my mind after a lot of thought and Yes I would still love him and yes I would respect his decision. Would I have liked it. Probably not but he would have never known it. Now with that said. I don't know if anyone here has ever been faced with a similar situation and it is none of my business but I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings about the issue. As far as Disney and what they choose to do. They are a business just like any other and if I don't agree with their views I don't have to spend my money purchasing anything they are selling or spending money at one of their parks. It is just like businesses post GUN FREE. I don't give them my money either...................jmho.

Back years ago when I fished bass tournaments regularly I would attend all the local Fishing Expo's because you could get some really good deals and most anglers would save up money to spend at the shows. About 8 years ago I attended my last show. I went to the show and there were more people and booths selling aluminum siding, storm windows, Jerky and guide trips than baits and fishing tackle. The few booths with tackle was selling their products at premium over the top retail. The last few gun shows I have been to are going in the same direction. More hat booths and clothing booths and basically junk booths that gun booths and the gun and ammo booths that are there are priced higher than you can buy at local retail stores so I quit going to them also. If I cannot find it in local stores not I go online and find what I want and don't have to spend gas and 8 to 10 bucks to get in.....................jmho

I use to have an LCP back up and like a dumb butt sold it and before the guy got out of site I was regretting selling it. I picked up another one and I won't be getting rid of this one. It is not something I would depend on solely for defense but makes a great back for my regular carry guns. When I am going into less that comfortable areas while out I will have both with me.............jmho

Question pertaining to police assistance at night??
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in General Chat
Well I want to thank everyone for their opinions and responses. They were all appreciated. As for shooting the guy, after his ordeal with Kasey I was almost feeling sorry for him and I had no reason to shoot him but I got the reaction I wanted by telling the dispatcher I would. All I wanted was for the LEO's and Paramedics to get there and take care of the situation and I knew that in this town at 2AM there is not much that goes on that all the police and paramedics could have been that busy. Kasey is getting older these days but still has some serious jaws and can still produce some serious damage but as myself she has mellowed out some. As far as the blood goes if it was just a little I might have left it but it was all over the front deck of my Skeeter Bass boat and I did have concern by the amount that I might have to perform first aid on his leg and put on something to stop his bleeding if help didn't arrive soon. I just wanted to share my one and only night of excitement involving the police and see if anyone else had a similar experience......................   -
Antioch has become Gangland over past several years. I use to live there back years ago and it was a nice area. The reason you get much more bang for your buck now in that area is because it has declined as being a nice place to live and many places are having trouble getting good law biding citizens to move there...........jmho

Question pertaining to police assistance at night??
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in General Chat
DaveTN "That must have been many years ago or in another state". Nope, it was in Tennessee but it was about well 6 years ago now and back when Immigration ICE was still allowed to do their job and employers were arrested for having undocumented workers. -
My question is how many folks have been awakened in the middle of the night and needed to call the police and what was the response you received? Not on something personal but maybe an intruder call or something of that nature? I had something happen several years back that later on I found it rather amusing. This was my 1 and only experience. Had an incident about 5 years ago and didn't really give it much thought till recently. Had a few Immigrants try to help themselves to some high end fishing rods off deck of my bass boat in my carport about 2AM one night. They might have gotten away with it but my guard dog was on duty and asleep under the boat. I could tell her to guard the boat and she would sleep under it in summertime. Shes not really a barker as much as a reaction type guard dog and bites first and then barks. She took a large chunk of meat out of the lower calf of one of latinos and he set into screaming and I cleared the door with flashlight and cell in one had and Bersa in the other and his buddy had taken off as I exited the door and only got a glimpse of him . The idiot thought he was going to punch Kasey but he found out that didn't work cause she got hold of 3 of his fingers and took 2 off at the first knuckle. (Her daddy was Chow and her Momma was Black Mouth Kerr so her jaws are like a vice.) Then the guy jumps up in my boat to get away from her and he bleeding like a stuck pig all over my boat carpets and screaming something in Spanish at Kasey. I had the carport lights on by then and I yelled at him to shut the hell up because the dog does not understand Spanish. I get on my cell phone and called the police @ 911. This is where it got really interesting. Now it's a Wednesday night in this town and the dispatcher ask me what was my emergency and I told her I needed a squad car and an ambulance. She said it's going to be about 20 minutes because they are pretty busy right now. I politely told her that was fine. I would just shoot the guy a few times and when they got a chance they could stop by and unload him out of my boat. She said you can't do that and I told her to stay on the line so she could hear the shots and she said they were on the way right now and I should have help in a few minutes. I said Thank You. It was about 1 minute before I heard sirens coming from about 3 different directions. Inside of about about 4 minutes I had all kinds of help. I told one of the officers that his buddy was hiding behind a garden shed in my neighbors yard. He said he would request a k-9. I was looking at Kasey and she had her run cable stretched out tight towards the neighbors shed with both her ears stood straight up. She knew he was there. I told the officer to get a buddy and just wait right there and I unhooked Kasey. She went around that building and here the guy comes running wide open, screaming towards the police officers. He is lucky he didn't get shot because both officers had their guns out with Kasey hot on his heels. I grabbed her and they grabbed him. After a little questioning come to find out they worked for the lawn service that cut my neighbors yard. The were illegal and so was every employee the guy had on his payroll but himself. They arrested him and took all of his equipment and shipped the other guys off to ICE for processing. What I found so amusing after I thought about it was I have lived in this town for many years and I have never seen the police busy on a Wednesday night at 2AM except that night and it was funny that when I said I will just shoot the guy she had a better idea real quick and the Calvary was on the way. I also had to laugh at one of the police officers when he said we need that dog working for us and his partner laughed and agreed. I was just wondering if anyone else has had an experience with the police in the middle of the night and what kind of response you got from the 911 operator. Oh yea, It cost my boat insurance company over $700.00 to re carpet my boat after they paid a company to try and wash out the stains.

It's funny but I was having a similar issue about front door locks. Up until about 5 years ago I lived here and never even locked my door. Now I am very lock conscious and considering adding a dead bolt lock to my door. Maybe even two. A Buddy said he would put in as many as I bought for me.

OH!!!! You mean the USDA is still operating? Have not heard anything about them in so long I thought they closed up shop....... :stunned: :stunned:

They have got so many excuses for gas prices I think they pay people to lay awake at night thinking up new ones. How many people here remember the Oil Embargo that never happened but it was well sold to the American people that is was OPECS fault. OPEC only did what the American oil Companies asked them to do and that was cut back production because the American oil Companies were preparing to cut back on their purchased amounts. OPEC announced they were cutting back but never said why so everyone blamed OPEC................ :squint: :squint:

Heck if the butt head in the White house would have signed on for the Keystone Pipeline it would have been more that half completed by now but instead he postponed it for another 2000 days a last report. Another fine part of his BAD legacy down the tubes............

I have not been to a show since 2008. Was gonna go to one here a while back and it got cancelled. Didn't really want to buy anything but just get out of the house and donate 8 bucks to get in. Saved 8 bucks cause it was a buddy's gas and his truck.........  Oh yea, his idea too.
