Something big is getting ready to kick off
bersaguy replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
We get very little oil from Iraq. In fact it was just announced the other day that America is now the #1 oil producing country on earth surpassing Saudi Arabia in production yet we are seeing our gas prices go up every day at the pumps. I think Oil needs to be removed from the Commodities Trading Market on Wall Street so big money has no control about driving the prices up and down when ever they get ready. If we are the biggest producer of oil in the world why is it that a gallon of gas in Saudi Arabia in 35 cents and a cost of a gallon of gas in Venezuela is 25 cents and no l producing country has gas price any where near a dollar yet were are stuck paying $3.50 + per gallon. ........................   -
16's worked great in the jungles of Southeast Asia on full auto because you wanted to spray the jungle and put as many rounds out down range into the jungle as possible. I don't know how effective they are in open desert on full auto but I would guess not as effective as in the jungle..................jmho I think several years ago they began sending and issuing M14's to anyone going to fight in the sand countries. 14's were found to be more dependable in the sand.............jmho

My Buddy that has a coupe Tokarev's went out to a friend of mines small salvage yard about a year ago to give the bullets a real test. He was shoot Spam can Army Surplus from the Czech Republic. His first test was a car shooting into drivers door at 25 feet. It went through drivers side out passengers door through car door next to the first car and out the 4th door striking the car next to it in the door and falling on the ground. Second test was 6 cylinder Ford inline 6 cylinder stood up on end that had been gutted of all working parts. Backed up about 30 feet and got behind a car with the windows down and he shot through 2 open windows striking the engine block dead center almost knocking it over and the only reason it did not go over was because it knocked a hole in the back side about 5 inches across when the bullet exited the block. Now that is an awesome load for a hand gun and to think many of the Russian troops are still packing them on their sides. I laugh every time I was that movie with Arnold and Jim Belushi when Jim pulls out a 44 mag and says, this is the most power hand gun made and Arnold pulls out a Tokarev and says no, this is the most powerful hand gun made......................  My buddy has his looking slim and trim and very nice looking guns. They looking more like a 1911 just a little longer barrels.

I have a buddy that owns two Tokarev's and he also shoots a couple Colt 45 ACPs he has and you can definitely tell when he switches to the Tokarev in the range even wearing good muffs. He is very accurate with both of to Tokarev's and said is by far the most enjoyable gun he owns to shoot. You can also tell when he goes from shooting the new 7.62x25 ammo verses the ammo he bought several years back in old Russian military loads.................jmho

Do any of you feel anxious when you carry?
bersaguy replied to bird333's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
When I look at the world today I get anxious if I go out and don't have my carry weapon on me. So I don't leave home with out at least one and sometimes 2 depending on where my travels may take me..........jmho.... -
I don't know why the ever moved away from the 45 ACP. Stupid does as stupid is I guess. The 45 worked for them very well for many years. "If it ain't broke you don't fix it."............................jmho Then there is always the 7.62x25 like the Russian Tokarev .....................jmho

I think in most of the mass shootings to date in the more modern times the mentally ill person killed family members that owned the weapons and then took the weapons out to commit most of the shootings so there is really no way to prevent that unless the parents of that person makes sure they cannot gain access to the weapons which again is a major hurdle to overcome..........jmho Also there have been people that provided warning that they were mentally troubled such as the Colorado theater shooter who sent letters the Psychologist at the college and I think she either failed to act or got the letters to late. Can't remember? But he purchased all the guns and ammo and passed all back ground checks. The Shooter in Arizona that shot all those folks including that little girl and Gabby Gifford also passed back ground check and purchased the guns and ammo used. Back ground checks did not prevent either one of those shootings or even turn on any warning lights.................jmho

I know it was a totally political move which ever way you look at it but at least if he had to piss off someone I am glad it was the ANTI Gun folks and not the Pro gunners. I won't vote for him either because I also believe he is a Wolf in Sheep's clothing...............jmho

Governor vetoed gun legislation that was sent to his desk for signing that would limit magazine sizes to 10 rounds. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/02/chris-christie-gun-magazine-veto_n_5553403.html

Well, except for the fact that it goes against the grain of the Constitution and the right to bare arms plus it goes against the legal codes of the states that do allow a person to legally carry a firearm concealed or otherwise it doesn't bother me one bit that Target were Gun Free Zone because I have only been in one of their stores one time and was looking for their fishing section and I was informed they didn't have one so never went back and don't ever plan to plus adding that target is owned by a French Corporation located in France.................jmho

Nice gun if you want to stop a car coming at you at 50 MPH and kill the driver by shooting them through the engine block or hitting them with the engine block...................

Something peaked my curiosity at the mall today
bersaguy replied to CQB Elite's topic in General Chat
Every time the Feds move anything of any importance they always have a decoy truck or maybe even two and no one knows what they are hauling in most cases and never learn what they just delivered either. Knew a few drivers back several years ago that reached retirement and just retired and they drove them trucks about 10 or 15 years. All they said about it was a job and paid good. -
When Kasey was younger like up until age 7 she was not afraid of anything. It could come thunder and lightening and rain like hell and I would try and get her to come inside and she refused. She would lay in her dog house right beside the front door all night. I don't know what caused the change in her unless it's just age but now a bottle rocket can go off 2 blocks away and she is knocking the storm door down wanting in. It can be sun shining out side and a thunderstorm can be moving in our direction and be as far away as 10 miles and she will begin barking and it took me a coupe months to figure out she was barking at the Thunder she could hear off in the distance that I could not hear. With in about 15 minutes she is wanting in and sure enough 15 to 20 minutes later a thunderstorm will hit with Lightening and thunder and from that point on where ever I am in the house so is she. Like she is tied to me. I have also got to where I hate fireworks but only because they scare so many animals. They said on the news this morning that more dogs run away of the 4th of July weekend than at any other time of the year. I guess we all know why now huh?

Sorry to hear about the cat......... :ugh: Her and my Kasey have 1 thing n common anyway. Kasey does not like cats either and chases them every time she finds one in her yard but she is to old now to catch them but she still tries but only for short jaunts before quitting the pursuit..........

Correct!!!!! But he does have the ability to screw a whole bunch of things up and just do a really good job of making a mess out of everything.....................jmho -
Well, I don't know how many folks actually know it was George W. Bush that really brought the Wrath Of the Muslims down upon the United States and I personally think it could have been prevented but was refused. When Operation Desert Storm was in the preparation plans we ask and were granted permission by Saudi Arabia to put a temporary air base in section of Saudi Arabia. After Operation Desert Storm was over and the goal to drive Saddam's troops out of Kuwait was completed we prepared to leave and began pulling all of our men and equipment out and Saudi Arabia requested that we keep out Air base in their country and our troops in there. Bush approved it. During Operation Desert Storm Osama Bin Laden didn't say anything thinking the base would be removed from his homeland after the war ended. He got upset when the base was not removed. He sent word twice to President George Bush Sr. requesting the base be removed from his homeland. Twice his request was denied. He sent word that we would regret our decision not to remove the base. When Bill Clinton got elected Bin Laden sent the same request to Clinton shortly after his taking office. Clinton also denied his request and he sent word that we will regret our decision and it was shortly there after that the bombing in the basement of the Trade Center by Al-Quada took place in 1993 and Bin Laden sent word that as long as that base was in his Homeland we could expect more attacks on American soil both here and abroad. He kept his word by attacks on our bases over seas and bombed any place he knew there would be a lot of Americans both civilians and military in third world countries while all the time planning 9/11/2001 when another Bush was in Office. All of this would most likely but not positively been avoided had a base that was not put in a location to be a permanent base in the first place and should have been removed when Desert Storm was over. So in jmho how important was or is that base now? Evidently not to important. In 2003 We pulled out giving the base called Prince Sultan to the Saudis for their Royal Saudi Air force to own and operate. Now with all of this said most of it was found with research and tons of it when I get bored. I am quite sure there are many things I have missed but I often do wonder what would have been different if we had just closed the base and left after Desert Storm. Would there have still been a bombing of the trade Center in 93? Would there still have been planes flown into the Twin towers and Pentagon and PA.? I know this is a hard question to answer but does make one wonder what would have been different today. Just a WHAT IF QUESTION?

From what I have been told by a TWRA Game Warden Property owners that are suffering crop damage from the hogs can legally shoot and kill them as declared under the Nuisance clause in TWRA hunting rules and if you shoot and kill a hog or more than one you are to notify the local TWRA office in your are so the hogs can be picked up and sent to processing and the meat is then sent to Homeless shelters and Orphanages for food. That was the last thing I heard on the hog issues in Tennessee. -
This is a pretty simple yet well explained reason that probably many Americans have never understood but need to because it shows that no country that does not prepare could be the next victim including the USA again. 1.6 Billion people is a lot and the number could scare some people but that is not militants. That number includes entire men women and children but is still something people need to know and very possibly prepare for in the future. That may even be the reason for all of the police departments receiving military vehicles. Preparing if the fight comes here.............jmho http://news.yahoo.com/katie-couric-sunni-vs-shia-now-i-get-it-155748192.html

I had not spoke to Jack or Melba in I guess 12 years. I did stop in one time on a trip through Newsomes Station back then as I saw their vehicles all in the yard on the way through to my sons home and we had a short visit just like we have see each other everyday. Jack must not have been having health issues back at that time or he just failed to mention them but he did say he was still picking on Music Row from time to time but times had changed and so had the Music business and all the new young stars going in many new directions. I would almost blame his act on the doctors if they knew he was in pain and refused to get him medications that would work. More and more doctors are getting like that now days and that is one of the reasons I drive almost 100 miles round trip to my doctor for my semi annual check ups and prescription renewals and have for last 12 years. I have a great doctor that will take the time to listen to you and then talk out what is best and not just do what she wants. Pharmaceutical companies spend billions of dollars to keep people out of pain and the doctors won't use what is put out there for that purpose. Many doctors have signs on their doors stating they do not prescribe pain medications and then want to know why they don't have many patients. Even if I didn't need them from time to time I would not let a doctor like that treat me anyway. I think after things calm down some I might make a trip back down to Newsomes Station and maybe catch Melba and or Tara at home and have a nice visit.

Mike, correct me if I am wrong but some folks say they don't recognize his name and there is a reason why. Jack was not actually a performer like his wife Melba is. Jack was a studio musician and for those who don't know what they do. They are the music you hear on many if not most of the songs sung by most stars when they are actually cutting a song or an album. They always wanted the best of the best in musicians when they were cutting & recording their albums and songs and those were the studio musicians 99% of the time. Jack was one of the best guitar pickers on Music Row and was in most cases requested by anyone cutting or getting ready to cut a song. Like I said Mike can correct me on any of that I may be wrong about but I use to go up to their house when he was out on the deck picking and jamming with a few friends and ever so often Melba would sing a song for all that gathered from the neighborhood. They were and are just down home folks that enjoyed music and life and I don't know about and didn't know about Jacks illness because I have not seen them in years. Correct me if I am wrong in any of that Mikey.

Ok, update on this from my buddy, the boys grandfather. The Louisville Police Chief and the Top Cop Police Commissioner have both decided that there does need to be an extensive investigation with every possible rock over turned to either confirm a suicide or a homicide before the case is to be closed. They both said that they have received a flood of letters, emails and phone calls requesting a full investigation, all from people that knew the young man both relatives and many many friends saying that none of them believe he took his own life as he had to much to live for and nothing negative was going on in his life. So a top team of detectives have been assigned to the case by the Top Cops office. I guess we will get the truth evidently one way or the other. I will keep ya'll updated as I learn more........... He was laid to rest on Thursday. Folk home where it happened is still a crime scene and the only thing the people have been allowed to do is get enough personal belongings to live with and get their 3 dogs he was sitting for and the house is still completely wrapped in yellow ribbon.

I have ran into things similar to this in the past while I was in the Hand Poured Bait Business and was having an issue with a particular angler and payments for products they received. I found the best way to handle them after a few exchanges on line was a face to face and that normally got the issue corrected. Folks think if they live far enough away you won't come a visiting over a few bucks. With me even if it cost me money to collect the funds owed me with me it was principal. You case in my mind is more important then money or principal so I might look at an unannounced trip to Lufkin Texas and do a face to face............jmho
