The taller less graceful ones do seem to be stupid to a point but due to the fact that if they are not successful about catching fish they don't eat and while out bass fishing I have seen several hundred of them and they all seem to be able to catch a fish or two if you watch them long enough................. :up: :up:

  I would never open my door to let anyone use my cell phone cause they may break and run with it. I would be on one side of door and tell them I would place a call for them if they needed help but the door would remain between them and I and my gun that I wear or have in pocket around house. I love my LCP house carry.....................jmho

I live in Gallatin and it still has a low crime rate for a town so close to Nashville but I look for that to change in next couple of years and things get worse for our country. My friends that plan on coming by the house will always call. If I don't answer they leave a voice mail message to call them. If I don't call them right back they don't stop by. I have my front door open most all day but storm door is locked with handle lock and hook lock so you can't just open it. If someone has to knock on my door they already have 1 strike against them and it would not be a smart move to go for strike 2. I have a sign above the door with my house phone number on it with instructions to get back in your vehicle and call me or get back in your vehicle and leave but don't press your luck by pulling on my storm door cause that is strike 3 and we all know what happens when you strike out!!!! If a local bait customer/friend is going to send a future new customer to my house they call first and ask if it's ok and then they tell me what they are driving and their full names and I tell them when to stop by. Like I said in a previous post. Up until 2008 I never locked my doors even at night and I have lived here since 1998. I added a dead bolt to my front door yesterday...................... :up: :up:

The type of bird is a Heron and I am guessing it's a Green Heron because the Silver Herons and Grey Herons both are taller and colors are less brilliant. ..They sometimes use small items such as twigs or insects as bait and yea, they are the smarter bird of the Heron family.   Did a little research. Not going to want anyone to think I am smart but I am smart enough to do research to learn things............. :up: :up: :rofl:

Well, if you really give this any thought at all, the Separatists in the east do not have any military aircraft to use in the conflict so the Ukraine Military would have no reason to use any of their anti aircraft weapons which would eliminate them shooting the airliner down. So it now remains the fault of the Separatists who have shot down several aircraft using missiles supplied by Russia and trainers to teach them how to use them. So it is either Russia or the Separatists that shot it down and really could have been either considering how close it hit the ground so close to Russian border......................jmho

My dog lets me know if a rabbit comes in the yard at night much less a human. She hears everything and sleeps in dog house on front porch at night. Don't have a doggie door but when she is inside she makes sure to let me know she needs to go out. I did add a new dead bolt to my entrance door yesterday. Been here 14 + years and up until about 6 years ago I didn't even lock my doors at night or when leaving the house.....................Now I am adding locks. This lock installed yesterday has an insert that inserts all the way through the door jam to door frame 2X4 supports.

Anything that is dead and moldy and walking around gives me the heebie jeebies ................. :rock:

Manure... An interesting fact Manure : In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before the invention of commercial fertilizers, so large shipments of manure were quite common. It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas of course. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOM! Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the instruction ' Stow high in transit ' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane. Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ', (Stow High In Transit) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day. You probably did not know the true history of this word. Neither did I. I had always thought it was a golf term.

I don't see where we need to enter a war zone because Civilian Americans where killed because an Airline company decided to be stupid and put Americans and probably 15 other nationalities from other countries in harms way by flying through a war zone.  Let Russia handle it since it was one of their rockets used to shoot it down so they will be the ones explaining why they would give such weapons to such stupid people to begin with...............jmho 

Yep, We are not totally innocent of doing the same thing. We shot down an Civilian Iranian Airliner back years ago and they used the excuse they thought it was an Iranian Fighter Jet. Now I would think that our military and Russia's Military and most all major militarizes should by now be able to tell a Civilian aircraft from a military aircraft but evidently not yet for some. But with that said, you would think that Airline Companies should learn by now since this is about the 3rd or 4th time  this has happened that when a country is at war whether it be a civil war or a war between two countries wouldn't it make more sense to alter your routes to avoid the war zones and chancing being shot down????? ..............................jmho

Their radar probably does not specify the type of aircraft but just an aircraft at 33, 000 feet so shoot it down and we will see what it is plus they probably were not in communications with the aircraft because they most likely would not be monitoring civilian radio transmissions and when they tried to talk to the air craft and they did not respond it must be the enemy. One of those Shoot first and ask questions later deals!!!!!!  But that also depends on if it was actually shot down or blown up in the air with a  bomb on the plane.............jmho

I don't see where we really need to do anything about it. We did not shoot it down, it did not land and scatter bodies all over American soil, No one is blaming us for it being shot down. If you want to blame someone lets blame the stupid airlines cause they lost a plane that was never found and then they send a flight right across the air space of countries at war that has had several aircraft shot down in last couple days including 2 yesterday and the airlines does not divert it to a safer route around the area in question. Now that is STUPID!! Now, with that said no one is claiming they did it so there is a chance it could have been a bomb on the aircraft that blew it apart in flight. I think they will eventually find out but like I said. We don't need to do anything except keep our noses out of it and let Russia tell the world what happened since they are the ones supplying these so called missiles used in the first place and they have already offered to help....................jmho

Well, It had to happen sooner or later and today it happened. A Civilian airlines with 295 people on board was shot down over Ukraine killing all aboard. Neither side says they did it but eye witnesses say they saw the missile in flight before hitting the aircraft. With two planes shot down there yesterday in same area but they were military aircraft. Why would a civilian aircraft fly into and active war zone is beyond me................jmho

Maybe the Republicans will do just that in September and over ride his Veto...............jmho

Haslam is beginning to remind me more and more like that guy in the White House with his politics. He says one thing but means something entirely different. Haslam has been caught dirty in several scandals and yet he still hold his office without any discussions at all about removing him just like in DC....................jmho

  The few times I have had to leave my Kasey with people they are people that she has shown in the past that she likes and plays up to and will go let them rub her old fat belly. That is a privilege very few people are offered. If she will walk over to a person and roll over on her back and allow them to rub her belly she approves of them and that is only about 4 of the many friends I have. Dogs know who they like and who they just tolerate and those they dislike completely.   Very glad you got her back as she look like she is precious and a good companion in the picture...... :up:  

Maybe she didn't like who you put her in care of while gone and was just hiding and waiting for you to come back home before showing herself. I have heard of that happening before with other dogs. Sure glad everything turned out for you well and your best friend is back home. ................... :up: :up: :up: :up:

Well, I have never eaten any dillo and don't plan to any time soon but I  have eaten some really strange things in my life in the jungles of Southeast Asia back in the late 60's early 70's and was glad to get them. I watched a few of these survival programs on TV and seen a few things that they passed up eating that were rather tasty if they would have tried them.............jmho

Just trying to make sure they meet their quota of spending their entire budget so it does not get cut next year and was probably the only excuse they could come up with in a hurry of something they didn't already have................jmho

I have tried to find a good Sicilian pizza joint around middle Tennessee and there are a lot of them that claim to be but since I grew up in Chicago till 1967 and know a good Sicilian pizza. I gave up years ago and just quit eating pizza made down here. I have a buddy that drives a refer 18 wheeler and makes trips to Chicago 3 times a month and he brings me back large pizza's from Home Run Pizza that is located behind Wrigley Field. He calls me from there and I place my order and he puts them in his freezer unit of the truck and brings them to me on his way through cause he has to come right through Gallatin going to Smyrna.......... :up:  :up:  :up:  I do wish I could find a real Sicilian Pizza joint around here that actually knows what really good Italian sausage is!!!!

I live in Gallatin and we have a no firearm ordinance here also but I have a buddy that has a pellet gun and he was having issues with squirrels and rabbits and he removed screens on certain storm windows screens of his house and eliminated all his issues buy shooting from inside the house to the outside and neighbors could not hear the pellet gun when he fired it. I don't know if a BB gun would kill a rabbit but a pellet gun sure will and squirrels to. Not advising any one do this but just saying what he did to remedy his problems and protect his garden.............jmho
