Actually I didn't have Hell week when I quit. It was actually fairly easy and the only life style change was not emptying ash trays all over the house and just washing them and putting them in cabinet for company. I think that because my old dog stays close by and I made he a promise and I will not break a promise unless I am on my death bed that helps. It's like silent counseling just watch her facial expressions when I talk to her............. :rofl:  :rofl:  :up: 

That's exactly why I need a good lawyer. 33 years after being shot but still able to function a little and with limited capacity speak  they are going to declare his death a homicide. When My son had his auto accident I had a great Health insurance policy plus his auto insurance and both of them had Life insurance policies attached to them. My Son was in a coma almost 2 years and was in a stupor for the last two years and was never out of a doctors care and was classified as Terminal the night of the accident. He never spoke a work or was feed by mouth and was a Quad but because he didn't died until 4 years after the accident both Life Insurance companies refused to pay because he didn't died within a year of the accident. If they can charge Hinckley with Homicide 33years later for Brady's death now then my son Life Insurance Companies should have covered his death because he never recovered from the accident and was under the doctors care and was never released from medical care till he passed away................I didn't know better then but I think I got screwed and I still have the policies from both companies................ :rant:

Well, I hav   Well I have seen all the TV ads about these help stop smoking drugs and hell, the smoking and cigarettes are safer than the drugs are to try and stop. Smoking has never made me want to kill someone or myself but those Chantix drugs do........ :shrug: I thought if that's the best they got to offer, A promise to my old dog and a bit of Cold Turkey will do it for me. So far I'm not having any issues to speak of. I can be around other smokers and not a problem. Most of my friends that no I have quit will stop by and visit a few minutes but when they need to light up they either go out side or just leave. I'm trying my best to not turn into the Good Year Blimp in the process. I am drinking a ton of water but I don't guess that will hurt. My Doctor will be thrilled as long as I don't gain 50 lbs but she said the weight won't be as bad as the smoking but I have only gained 1.5 lbs to date and i think that is water........ :rofl:

Well, I do have my challenges at times but this pass quick. I thought one of my biggest challenges would be if a friend stopped by and fired one up and was smoking but surprisingly that was not even an issue at all. Morning coffee was, after a meal was. Pouring baits was, but in all honesty the hardest one is watching some person light one up on the television. One of my favorite programs is Deadliest Catch and those guys are all chain smokers and that show was tough to watch but it's over for the season now thank goodness......... :up: :up: :rofl:

Just curious if anyone here is using the Bitcoin programs and are they real or a Ponzi scheme?

Unless a politician can see a profit in it for them and then it will get done over night or possibly the same day............jmho

I still use the old flip phone to Mikey and my phone company hates me because when they started pushing all these Smart(dumb) phones I bought 5 identical flip phones and so far i have worn 1 out in last 3 years and cost me 10 bucks to have them turn on another one and move all my phone book over to it. I have no apps on it. I have this great big package of services I could be using right now that have been added to my original package over the past several years but bill remains the same because I don't use any of them. My Flip Phone will even take pictures but I won't let them turn it on so I can send them to people. I can take pictures. Just not send them to folks.......... :rock: I have a phone to do 5 things and 5 things only. Make calls, get calls, voice mail calls I miss, caller ID and Text messages. That's it. No Wifi, no internet, no this and no that. It's just a phone. Right now I have enough flip phones to out live me probably............... :rofl: :rofl: :up:

That was one of the issues I worked on religiously when I settled on the Bersa thunder as my carry gun was the placing of the first round because if the first round finds it's mark a second round may not be needed unless dealing with more than one perp. I worked very hard on making that first shot count from holster to target and I feel about 90% to 95% confident I can place the first round where it needs to be but going to do some more work on it since I was able to run up on a buy of 380 reloads a buddy had that he passed on to me at a really good price. I have shot his reloads for a couple years and he loads a great round........ :up:   

I was having similar issues with my Rugar LCP and a buddy of mine told me I was not gripping the gun hard enough allowing it to move in my hand. I went back to range a week later and gripped it like vise grips and went through 5 mags with no issues. Do't know if that may be your situation or not but just wanted to tell you what my issue was.............. :up: :up:

Well, I have been smoke free for 35 days as of today. I smoked for 57 years and didn't think I would ever quit. I had tried a few times and made it a few days is all. Ya'll are gonna laugh at how I did it to this point but it's the truth. My old dog goes every time the Jeep moves and about the 4th of July we had been out running errands and she was in back seat with paws and front half of her up front on console looking out front window and I had a/c running and noticed the jeep was kinda full of smoke from Cigarette I was smoking and I realized that my old dog was breathing all that secondary smoke all the time both in the jeep and house. I made her a promise I would quit smoking and on July 3rd at 9:45 at night before going to sleep I smoked my last cigarette. Have not had one since. Had 3 packs on table in kitchen and gave them to a guy that smokes that came by the house. Gathered up all my ash trays, rinsed them out, put them in dishwasher and washed them and put all but one up in a cabinet. Left one out for company that stops in that smokes. Every so often I catch myself reaching for shirt pocket but not as much as that first week.  I am beginning to be able to smell things I had not smelled in sometime.  Foods are beginning to taste different. Still will miss them like after a meal or especially with morning coffee but it is getting easier. I don't plan on losing this fight or breaking my promise to my old dog................ :up:  :up:  :up: 

sounds like they may have been drunk locals if they we asleep in the car. Sounds more like maybe passed out. I guess you may have handled it the best way you dd but I wold have made sure the authorities were notified if not that night the next morning and I would have gotten the plate number of the car if you were really sure it was the same car. By them just firing in ya'lls direction they could have shot and killed one or more of you guys. Guys like that need to be dealt with before they do kill someone........jmho

My Ruger LCP is a striker pistol which I have as back up to my Bersa on most outings in pocket. The only long pull on the Bersa is the first round and I have become very accustom to that operation since i have 3 of them and go to the range with them often, ammo permitting. I am not crazy about a full striker weapon but most all pocket pistols like the LCP are designed that way....jmho

If that would have been one of my kids acting out like that there would have been and immediate exit of the restaurant and a lesson taught before either leaving the restaurant  or going back in with a new attitude of my child. My two boys never got away with anything like that in public or at home. Fit throwing meant trip to wood shed in my home. As far as the guy buying the pies. Nice of him to buy all his co workers a treat..............jmho

Ok and I thank all of you for your replies. The reason for my asking this question was because a buddy of mine said he would never carry a DA/SA because of that first long trigger pull. I carry my Bersa with it is double action mode with hammer down and all safety's in fire mode. That way if I need to react to a situation I can react in one smooth move when I would need to fire first round, Yes it would be a long trigger pull for first round. But if I pull my self defense weapon it will be to most likely defend myself or another person from a life threatening danger and with the rush of adrenalin at that point the long trigger pull will seem like a split second before the gun discharges the first round. How many feel that my thoughts are or may be correct? In a life threatening situation when Adrenalin is rushing through your body will that long trigger pull make a difference at that point is my question? My thought is no but always like to hear other opinions. .......................... :up: :up:

When I began looking for my carry guns of choice the first question my buddy put to me was was did I want a semi auto or a wheel gun? I said a semi auto and he said single action or double action. It had been so long since I looked at hand guns I didn't even know they were making DA Semi auto's.  Anyway I said I wanted to check them all out so spent about 3 months shooting all kinds of guns and settled on a double action semi auto Bersa 380 for first gun. Now I have several DA's and a few Single actions and enjoy them both equally at the range but I carry  a DA. What is ya'lls preferences?..................just curious

Well, the NCAA passed approval that college athletes can be paid for playing sports while attending college. Since many kids that play college ball are there on scholarships that are in some way paid for by tax dollars or other fund raising organizations I think if they are going to begin paying college athletes that are attending school on a scholarship they should loose that scholarship funding and they can finish paying their way through school and scholarships can be given to non athletic students that don't play sports but need the scholarship money to attend college. I already know that grade point averages don't mean anything if your a hot wide receiver or a hot quarterback or any other star player. You can tell that if you listen to them in the professional level during and after a game when they are interviewed and they can't put a 7 word sentence together that they did'nt fair well in the class rooms but excelled on the playing field or BB court..............jmho

I carry all factory to date but that is because I carry a 380 or 2 while I'm out. I have shot factory reloads at the range and on had 1 FTF in about 800 rounds at the range so I would feel comfortable using them. Now that for the time being I own a 40 Caliber and all I have is new ammo I guess after some range time and practice with the 40, if I decide to keep it and carry it I will probably still use new ammo since I don't reload.......... :rock:  :rock:

Well , I'm just glad you were not hurt Monk and sorry they got away. I remember my son telling me once about an egg incident that took place on him while he and his two sons were on their home from an afternoon outing. Some kids in a car hit his SUV several times with some eggs. All I can say was wrong truck wrong day. My son and his two boys were on their way home from a paint Ball competition that they competed in and they still had plenty of ammo still in the guns. Son turned around and had little trouble catching them and my two Grandsons marked the car up really well and the guys inside also because they could not get the windows up fast enough. The were orange and Lime Green Florescent and glowing when cops got them in Kingston Springs. They thanked my son because they had been getting complaints on these kids for a week and no one could give a good description of the car. My two grandsons made it easy to locate. Bet it would have been fun if you would have had a paint ball gun huh Monkey/...............jmho
