I have not been tree rat hunting in years but have been considering doing a little this year. Just enough to make up some squirrel and dumplings a few times. I have plenty of 22'lrs to do it with and a buddy wants me to come and hunt them from his back deck because they did some damage to his house last year by getting in his attic so he ask me if I would take care of that problem and if I am going to shoot them I will eat them. I think you did exactly what you should have done and I would have done. If you would have heard gun shots inside the store that might have made a difference and I would have taken cover with gun in hand at that point to defend myself. I would have gotten license plate # of said truck but not got involved unless my life became threatened................jmho

Did they charge you on the back when you ordered it price or today's price?................just curious

  Oh yea, they charged both of them with attempted murder as there was about 3 or 4 other people standing less then 10 feet away and they saw him pull the trigger, knowing my buddy had a gun pointed right at him. I think the punk had a death wish that didn't work out for him. Now he is in the Gray Bar Motel with Bubba. Plus there was two other guys right their with their guns out and down at their sides and if things would have went south they would not have got away regardless. They got a whole log of charges filed against them from aggravated assault to attempted premeditated murder. They are both still in jail cause bond is like 1 million bucks each.

My phone keeps sending me text messages that I need to take it in for service because it will not accept Multimedia messages. It has been sending me that message for two years now once a week. If I wanted multimedia messages I would have signed up for them but for some reason they cannot understand that............... :rant:

Yep he is a close friend of mine and comes by here many mornings for coffee and is the guy that really got me back into guns. I had got out of them since back when my home got burglarized and they took all of my guns while we were at hospital with son after car wreck. He is the reason I have my HCP. He sparked my interest in firearms again. He is a very unique person and close friend.

I had it happen to a friend of mine  in a Food Lion parking lot. The two guys followed him out of the store and they had more plans than just taking his gun, they planned on robbing hm with it after they got it. this happened about 8:30 one evening last Fall. They got more then they bargained for thinking old man, easy target. He had grocery bags in both hands when they snuck up behind him and one grabbed his side arm from it's holster. The guy pointed the 9MM in his face and said for him to give them all his money. He calmly set the bags of groceries on the ground and while reaching in on pocket for his money clip that they saw when he paid for his groceries he was also reaching inside his jacket for his backup 32 Caliber in his shoulder holster. he didn't pull his money clip out but he did level the 32 caliber directly in the face of the guy with his other gun. The guy started yelling "I will shoot you man, I will !!! and my buddy told him calmly "not with that gun you won't." The guy told him again he would shoot him and by now there we several other folks around after all the yelling. He told the guy to shoot him if he had the balls and the punk pulled the trigger and it went click. Then my buddy told him if he made even one move he would shoot him and the gun he was holding was loaded. He made both of them get down on their knees and he took his gun away from the punk as he heard sirens coming so he knew that police had been called. The two punks were taken to jail and he went home and ate almost totally melted Ice cream. He never carries a bullet in the tube of the gun on his hip but his back up is ready to do business with the first trigger pull.  He has done many hours of practice with his side arm and when he draws it in one smooth motion he draws the gun racks the action to load it and is ready for action with about as fast as the average person would be with one already in the tube........................ :up:

Said he just got out of rehab and couldn't kick the alcohol and the depression that came with it. Some people can get help from rehab and it take and they get their lives in line while others go through program after program and end up like him.......Very sad to hear about him. I enjoyed him movies...........Prayers to his family.

The older gentleman I saw in open carry today was coming out of Walmart and he had bags of goods he purchased so evidently no one from Walmart said anything to him cause he seemed easy going about his business.........jmho

I thought about it but you just never know how old folks are going to react plus we were both in the cross walking area of the Walmart doors how ever I did stand by the doors and make sure he was safely in his vehicle and leaving before i went into the store and he was parked right in front in one of the handicap spaces.

Well. I guess the holster was one of the reason I was attracted to it was the gun did have quite a bit of movement when he walked it actually wobbled around a little and it was one of the less expensive black clothe holsters so year $600.00 in a $30.00 holster but what bothered me the most was he was walking with a cane with his right hand, The gun was a cross draw type like would have been a right hand draw possibly but then if he walks with a cane all the time he may have also thought to be able to left hand draw but would have had to reach back past his Cell phone case either way because it was in front of the holster. Then you add all of the packages and bags he was packing to his vehicle both in his left hand and hanging on his left arm there is zero defense in this instance that the man could have prevented anyone from walking up behind him and grabbing his gun and running away unless he was a Ninja with the cane and could have avoided being shot with his own gun. I guess to each his own and I am sure he felt safe but in all honesty he was in more danger than if he was unarmed....................jmho 

I guess it would not bother me to much if someone came up and politely and discreetly mentioned to me that he could see my weapon. This being because I never carry open and if they can see it then I may need to do some adjustment to my carry program because I don't want to even print much less have anyone see my weapon period. Every one has their own opinions on an issue such as this and I respect everyone's for sure.................jmho  

I didn't really pay much attention to his posts and didn't see the last couple that got him sent to never never land but The few  did read seemed a bit off the wall kinda sorta. I have got to were I don't want to ever get booted from here and if I am getting ready to post something I have doubts about I will send on of the moderators a Pm and ask them about it and get their views on it before I go with it. I would never say anything racist because I am not a racist person. I love everyone equally, well almost that is. I do have an issue with some Muslims but not all. Just the ones that want to kill me and all other Americans. Those I have issues with that, but not racial ones, Terrorist ones.............. :shrug: :shrug:

Well, saw an open carry person today coming out of Walmart as I was going in. Prime target for a gun snatch and run for sure. Man looked to be in mid 70's, was alone had what appeared to be a Glock in a holster and you could see the gun moving in the holster as he walked. The gun was in a reverse draw style on his side next to his cell phone case. He was walking with a cane in his right hand and carrying what looked like 2 or 3 bags of what ever he purchased in his left hand and had at least 1 or 2 bags hung on his left arm.  Wish I would have had a camera phone and got a picture of this. There is no one he could have prevented anyone from walking up behind him and grabbing his gun. I would not have thought half as much about it had he been pushing his purchases in a cart to his vehicle but he had all those bags draped all over his left arm and walking with a cane in his right hand........... :shrug: :shrug:

I have watched the Video's about 10 times and even though I am as far from a Tony Stewart fan as anyone can get he did not hit that young man on purpose. If you look at the video really close the number 45 car went past the driver in a dark racing suit and he was close to him ad after the 45 car wen passed the young man stepped down even closer to the path of Stewarts car. There is a really good chance that Stewart was focused on the 45 car in front of him and didn't even see that young man till the last second and then hit the throttle to move around him and the car didn't react as Stewart thought it would and miss the young man. It was something that I have always been against for all the years I raced at Nashville, Smyrna and Ridgetop Racetracks was drivers getting out of their cars in a fit of rage to cuss out another driver. They do it in all divisions from Sprint cars on dirt to Sprints cars in NASCAR. Stewart was one that got out one time and threw his helmet at another drivers car. A race track is no place to climb out of your car while mad and cars are still moving to show your rage. Prayers do go out to this young mans family for their terrible loss..... :( :(

I spoke with my State Farm Agent and she told me that my Renters liability insurance covered me shooting an intruder or defending my self while at home and that she does not see any type of fire arms policies coming down any time soon as the insurance industry has no intentions of getting tied up in any 2nd Amendment Issues between to unhappy indites that cannot settle a dispute that has been ragging for years and is very far away from a settlement for either side. My agent also has an HCP and she says she never leaves home unarmed................. :up: :up:

They did some major air drops of food and water and other supplies to all those people trapped on top of that mountain and are planning more. They sent in F-18's first to blow up a bunch if ISIS and clear a path for the C130s to drop the cargo on chutes. Then the F-18's hung around until they could get some drones in the area to protect the people while they retrieved the food and water. The drones are fully armed and will be there to protect the people indefinitely up on the mountain until someone with a brain cell working in DC can figure out a solution to this fine mess our Commander-n-Chief got us into by thinking ISIS was a Harmless bunch of thugs. Maybe someone in Washington DC will get a  brain cell out of neutral or coast mode and figure out a solution. I think someone made a similar conclusion about Al Quada also, Just a  bunch of harmless thugs!!!!!!!!!
