Thanks my friend. I am use to a small 380 gun as I have a Ruger LCP and it is small and I can shoot it fairly well. I had a few people tall me I would like the Bodyguard more because it fits your hand better and weighs about 1 ounce more empty. I think after looking at the price retail in a few locations I got a really good deal on it. Gun has had 2 magazines run through it and I am getting the gun with the box and all that comes with it plus a quality pocket holster and 1.5 boxes of ammo. The guy was coming to Nashville so he is bringing it from Bristol Tennessee to me so will save all shipping and other stuff. Got it for $300.00 even delivered. Looks like a range trip is in my future pretty soon. Want to see how she shoots and how the Lazer system works since I have never had one.     Thanks again....................... :up: 

I bought this gun Monday and it will be here tomorrow. It is a  380 Caliber with integrated Lazer. Now since I have never owned a pistol or a rifle for that fact with a lazer what can anyone tell me about this gun they think I should know. Any information or advice will be greatly appreciated.............. :up: :up:

I won't argue with anyone about this and I do understand your viewpoint. You are correct that the guy was not a threat and you are correct the young lady in the car was shot by police but she is still just as dead. My point was to ask a question and get replies and I did and I thank all of the folks here that replied. I learned a lot.  Now just one more question. Just what exactly is the job of the Secret Service if not to protect the President from any and all threats big and small?  I do know that they almost had to double the Secret Service force when he got elected in 2008 and the payroll for his Secret Service is almost double of any former Presidents.

Well, I was just curious about what folks thought and I thank all of you for your replies. TMF mentioned that the fence jumper was able to be recognized as not being a threat while running across the lawn. It turned out he was not but he did make it into the building. The woman in the car never made it past the barricade on Pennsylvania Avenue but was killed because she was evidently a threat to Security personnel outside the fence. Okay , I can accept that but if you look at the history and record of the Secret Service since taking over in 2008 it sucks. Like Omega said, they made a decision he was not a threat while he was running wide open towards the White House residence. Does a threat have to be packing an armory of weapons and running across the W. H.  lawn to be a threat. He could have had pockets full of Resin or Anthrax  in plastic bags that he could throw at people and bust open completely contaminating the White House and kill a great number of people. Okay, he was not a threat but was he a dry run test for something bigger. His family says he suffers PSTD from his tours in Iraq. The next guy might have a different plan and will they make the same decision and be wrong next time?  Only time will tell I guess. As far as the record of the Secret Service since taking over in 2008. I think it sucks from the party with that couple crashing it by walking right in the White House and mingling with the President and First Lady in the beginning of his first term to partying in South America with prostitutes when they were suppose to be securing the presidents living quarters prior to his arrival and now this poor decision. Even if they did not shoot him, this guy should never have made it to an unlocked door of any building and he should have been confronted on the lawn and not inside the building. Folks, it's not that I like the President because he is not near the top of people I like. It is the fact that he is the President of the United States. I have lived my life remembering the assassination of  President John Kennedy and soon after his brother Bobby Kennedy as he was making his bid for the Presidency. I don't want to live through another and this day in time and the way the world is ans the way our country is hated by so many I think the security around the president needs to function at 110%...........JMHO

You know the President feels totally and completely safe and secure along with his family with that group of men on the job. I bet for the next two years they sleep in a different bedroom every night........ :shrug:  I saw the video several times and that one officer up on the pillar porch by the doors had what looked like his firearm pointed right at the guy and he just let him go through the doors and finally got tackled by several Secret Service people.     Now I have heard several different excuses as to why no one shot him which none of them do I my self believe. They said while he was out on the lawn they were concerned with through and through striking a civilian because they were lined all along the fence. Fine so when he gets closer to the White House a sniper takes him out. OOOppps forgot Obama had them done away with when he took office. When asked why his reply was because "I said i don't want them. "   So the guy on the porch with the pillars is about 25 feet away with gun pointed at the bad guy and does not fire????? WHY???? Anyone got any real ideas?? Anyone?   Does anyone remember the young lady with the baby in the back seat in the black rental car that supposedly tried to run down a White House Security Officer out in the general public with people everywhere and they fire 17 shots at her and the car while it was moving and finally hit a barricade when the young lady was struck in the head by a bullet. How much public safety consideration was given that day?????? 17 bullets flying in the air and 8 hit the car. Folks that leaves 9 bullets unaccounted for.   I will make the first guess and any one that wants to just jump in. I think Mr Obama has taken away all their bullets except 1 and it is now an Andy and Barney Fife Mayberry bullet in the pocket scenario because he does not know who he can trust and not trust any more so everyone has 1 bullet. That's my guess. I know Hozzie but it is the same thing in the fact that that little scum bag Organization throws their weight around making many people lives Hell. I also realize that the organizations I mentioned are also owned by stock holders and investors and it seems that regardless if it's a foot ball game at a local High School of in Cowboy Stadium. The first amendment says that a person has the right to speak. Now with that being said. I may hear someone screaming at the top of their lungs something that is angering me to hear what they are saying just as bad buy I will not argue with them. What I will do is fight with my last breath up my death  defending their right to say what ever they are saying. That is what made America so great and that is what will make it the America we all have loved all our lives.     Our biggest challenge ahead of most of the younger generations and I am referring to the parents of toddlers all the way till they are grown this day in time need to teach their children what this nation once was and what it needs to be again and not all this trash they are being taught in school. If a Teacher stands in front of a class and says ok lets discuss Climate Change or Global Warming one of the students need to raise their hand and ask the teacher if he/she is referring to Mother nature and what changes she is making upon the earth as she has done for 1000's of years.     My Grandson did that for me last month and the teacher sent him to the office for being disrupting. I made a trip to school the next day with him and I asked her to show me total 100% proof that man is causing the climate changes we are seeing or is it just a natural change like has happened at least 1000 times in the earths history and I could not believe she produced Al Gores book as her proof and i could not help it and I busted out laughing.    I then asked he 1 question for which she could not answer out of Al's book. I asked her if man is causing all of the volcanic eruptions and active volcano's and Earthquakes or are they natural acts of Nature and she could not answer. I rested my case and ask her not to send my grandson to the office because of her lack of intelligence to answer a 9 year old's question............... :up:   As to your response about public / Government funded organizations. Public schools are funded with money collected from the private sector in the way of taxes and I am sure the parents of those cheerleaders paid more than their share of taxes for their children to attend that school. Does the ACLU also attend school there and pay taxes to support that school. Those cheerleaders have just as much right to hold a prayer as the atheist  has to not listen or hold a peaceful protest at the game against the prayer. LMB and Hozzie both have good points and the points are that they agree to disagree but it is not meant to be hurtful as much as it is a discussion about a situation which is about a mistake made by a human being that is not perfect but is a principal of  school and it is the poor cheerleaders that are taking the brunt of the storm which is totally not fair...........jmho on that.   Now this very same issue has not only be taken up at the high school levels. It was also taken up at the Professional levels of sports. The only difference is those little trouble makers known as the ACLU found out right quick that they made a very large mistake when you get out of your league. They stepped up to the Big times and tried to get prayer controlled first in baseball. The Major League Commissioner was nice enough he told each team that it was the Leagues decision that as far as prayers before a game were concerned they would be leaving that up to the owners of the individual teams to make that decision and it ended there.   Then they went after the NFL and pretty much got the same answer that base ball gave them. They said that the NFL Commission did not have a stand on a prayer issue but it would be up to the owners of each team as to how they handled the prayer issue but as far as the NFL League, they would be remaining neutral.   Gotta love the next one. The ACLU big wheels went to Florida to have a discussion back years ago with Mr. France at NASCAR. Yep!!!!  They came right down here in the middle of the Bible belt to confront NASCAR on their decision to no longer have a Pastor say a prayer for the drivers and all in attendance at the home of NASCAR. The Daytona 500 in February of that year. Mr France was polite for a short time and he told them that with all due respect there would be a prayer at the Daytona 500 and every NASCAR event after that one. One of them spoke up and I still don't have a clue what he said but Mr France's reply to him was "You take your Yankee A$$es back up where you came from and Pound Sand cause we will have prayers and you don't have to watch or attend any of the races if your offended!" and Track Security escorted them out.    So with that said, the ACLU found out right quick what league they can play in and what ones they cannot. I guess they better stick with principals and cheerleaders....................jmho

Well, considering I am using a 13 year old flip phone and have two more I bought as back ups and have 2 back up batteries for them I bet when I make a call I ping the tower like an alien space ship but then I could really care less if they track my phone or not since the only thing I do on it is talk and might text in an emergency but it would really have to be an emergency to get me to do that. Good luck to all the smart phone folks in the world that enjoy doing their banking and all those other great things you can do with a phone that puts all your personal information out in cyber space......................jmho

I think if the stats for child suicide is checked most of them are caused by bullying by other people their own age and in most of those stats the child ends up hanging them selves or jumping off high buildings and pills that we prescribed for the parents that were in the medicine cabinet in the bath room when they should have been locked up.   They can put stats up on about anything they want but let them post the links that back up the stats and provide proof that it is guns. Of course the Lame Stream Media will broadcast anything negative about a gun and gun owner but they will also go out of their way to do everything possible to avoid saying anything positive about them when they happen..............jmho

Well, I have read all 6 pages of this thread and learned almost nothing but it was a nice read.  Really nice discussions on several levels. Like I have said in the past, I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. In conclusion I figured out the Principal did something wrong and the Cheerleaders did what they thought was right but then turned out to be wrong because the principal was wrong yet the Cheerleaders were right because they were not wrong in saying a prayer.   Saying the Prayer offended someone and they threatened the Cheerleaders with physical harm for saying the prayers. That is totally out of line regardless of who was right or wrong in the beginning. You never threaten a child for any reason. I would not consider my self to be a crazy religious person by any means. I don't discuss my religious beliefs with any one because I think that is my business.   I will say this, I have my beliefs and other people have their beliefs. If a group of cheerleaders gather together and have a prayer so what. I would not be offended either way and be adult, accept that is their beliefs and move on. I would not feel I was having anything forced upon me because I am more of an adult and a person than that. I consider many of today's petty issues childish when it comes to things such as this.    I served with a guy that was a proclaimed Atheist and he didn't mind letting any one and every one around him know it. He made it quite clear to all concerned and even those who weren't concerned. About 14 months into our tour we came under attack while on patrol and he got shot up pretty bad and my medic was working frantically to keep him alive. I was on my knees working with the medic and the soldier looked at me and said I'm going to die and I said I don't know.     His last words were " Sir, will you say a prayer for me tonight and ask GOD to forgive me?" I thought a few seconds and I said yes and about 10 seconds later he was gone. I kept my promise that night under the stars I said a Prayer for him. I told GOD that I had not ask him for much since I was just a little boy but I had a request from someone and I am fulfilling a promise I made and I said my prayer for him. I wanted to share that because in a few ways it seems appropriate here. In all honesty I do believe there are true Atheists in the world and I honestly thought in my heart that that soldier was one but I guess my judgement was off a little.   I did a lot of thinking after that day and night about many things in life and how we really think we know so much when in all reality we know very little. We are trying to live a life we think is what we want but in the very very far back corner of out heart, soul and brain their is that  very small question mark saying " Is this all there is or is there so much more"?   I have suffered a lot of grief in my life but I think there is always someone out there that has suffered so much more. I often allow my mind go back to 1990 when I buried my Father I dearly loved in April totally unexpected, my Grandfather I loved in June, My brother next oldest to me passed unexpectedly in his sleep in July at the age of 41 and my son which was expected  four 4 years and was living on borrowed time since the night of his accident.  He passed away in August 1990. Lost the Love of my life in 97 to a heart attack.   I look at this world today and I wonder how it has lasted as long as it has with every one complaining about everything someone else is doing or saying and all of the petty little things that people can find to argue about. Has anyone besides me ever wondered what it would be like to just 1 time in their life turned on the TV and the evening news reporter saying   "Well, we have had another day of peace across the world and the weather is nice and that is the news for today!"  I have and it is a beautiful thought until reality sets back in....................jmho

I think you and Big K are both right and it turned off like a water faucet cause I was looking at gun prices a couple weeks ago cause I had a little money to invest and I figured I would invest it in firearms. Figure I could always get my money back. Glad I only bought 2 back then because right now I can't sell either one of them and looks like I will be making safe queens out of both and won't even have one of them till Wednesday. Bottom fell out on it before I even got it from the guy............ :shrug: :shrug:  Maybe the November elections will get folks buying again. I'm hoping it gets jump started by something else because the elections we need to win........JMHO

:panic: Is it just me or has handgun prices began to come back down?  I go and look at prices at Buds on line ever so often and I remember back when I bought my Bersa Thunder 380's back about 4 years ago I gave $219.00+ tax here locally plus normal stuff NCIC stuff. Then about a year later I went back to same store another 380 Bersa and it was $279.00+ all the other normal stuff. So I looked at Buds and it was $238.00 + goodies and saved about 25 bucks. Then about a year later local store was $349.00+ stuff and Buds was $319.00 + stuff.  Just went and looked at Buds and they are now $272.00 and that would be plus stuff. Did I imagine all those gun prices or did they really exist and now they are coming back down? I bought my LCP back about 3 years ago and gave 299.00 + stuff and when I looked about 2 months ago they were like 359.00 + and today they are $302.00. Now someone tell me I am not imagining all of this and it has really been happening........................ :shrug: :shrug:

:panic: If they are going to change the real Popeye & Brutus and Olive Oil for the benefit of our Children I would rather they just quit using the names and retire them and come up with their own Politically Correct Sailors and bully's and homely girl friends. Just teach your children that political correctness is for politicians only and not to be used by anyone out side of Government and when their teachers at school try to teach it have your child ask them if they are a teacher or a politician? I only have one grandson left in school and this is the truth. He is now in third grade and his teacher began talking about something the President said about how the people needed to learn more about other peoples origins and learn to accept other nationalities without prejudice.   I could not believe that my grandson raised his hand and when the teacher called on him he stood up and asked her if she was a politician because she sounded like one. She sent him to the office and his parents were. First mistake was sending him to office instead of answering his question and second mistake was calling my son and his wife to the school. The principal spoke to his parents first and told them what question he asked the teacher.    My son asked the principal what the teacher was discussing that made him ask the question. When the principal told him my son said that he was not going to apologize for his sons question because the teacher was trying to teach children what the Government is trying to brainwash children into believing it is right in it's immigration polices are and that he did not believe they were right either.   The Principal said he was going to send my grandson home 3 days for being disrespectful to the teacher and my son said that's fine and you can explain your teaching practices to News Channel 5 Investigates and any other news networks he could get to come out. Needless to say the principal left the room and was gone for about 10 minutes and when he came back in his office he sad the issue had been resolved and my grandson was going back to class.    That was about a month ago and their has been no more issues about it and his report card he got a B grade for that grade period in that class. I told my son not to let them teach him the PC BS and since my grandson has a very high IQ and he knows PC BS when he hears it. If not he will do like he did that day and raise his hand and ask questions. There are a few teachers that have been replaced in his school and it was because of their teaching beliefs and teaching formats from what has been learned by parents...... :cheers:

    I have been saying this since the long gun deal began in Texas and all that crap at Target started that these were all scam photos staged by the Moms organization and that for the most part is all fake and staged. Probably husbands of many of the Moms that do own the Long guns. If it happens just one time that someone gets pinned down and asked the right questions Moms will be caught dirty and that will be the end of them..........jmho

"When you are shipping a package that contains a handgun, you must verbally notify the UPS driver or UPS Customer Center clerk"   I did all of that and jumped through hoops and even provided all FFL paper work required and the guy still cut my package open because basically he thought I was lying about the ammo. I did find out that he was removed from Counter Service at the main hub on Elm Hill Pike to the Whites Creek location and put in a sorting section. I did receive an apology from  UPS for his actions and they told me what disciplinary action was taken and it is not the policy of UPS to assume any customer is lying about a package contents and not a policy to open a package................. :up:
