Well, I have read all 6 pages of this thread and learned almost nothing but it was a nice read.  Really nice discussions on several levels. Like I have said in the past, I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. In conclusion I figured out the Principal did something wrong and the Cheerleaders did what they thought was right but then turned out to be wrong because the principal was wrong yet the Cheerleaders were right because they were not wrong in saying a prayer.   Saying the Prayer offended someone and they threatened the Cheerleaders with physical harm for saying the prayers. That is totally out of line regardless of who was right or wrong in the beginning. You never threaten a child for any reason. I would not consider my self to be a crazy religious person by any means. I don't discuss my religious beliefs with any one because I think that is my business.   I will say this, I have my beliefs and other people have their beliefs. If a group of cheerleaders gather together and have a prayer so what. I would not be offended either way and be adult, accept that is their beliefs and move on. I would not feel I was having anything forced upon me because I am more of an adult and a person than that. I consider many of today's petty issues childish when it comes to things such as this.    I served with a guy that was a proclaimed Atheist and he didn't mind letting any one and every one around him know it. He made it quite clear to all concerned and even those who weren't concerned. About 14 months into our tour we came under attack while on patrol and he got shot up pretty bad and my medic was working frantically to keep him alive. I was on my knees working with the medic and the soldier looked at me and said I'm going to die and I said I don't know.     His last words were " Sir, will you say a prayer for me tonight and ask GOD to forgive me?" I thought a few seconds and I said yes and about 10 seconds later he was gone. I kept my promise that night under the stars I said a Prayer for him. I told GOD that I had not ask him for much since I was just a little boy but I had a request from someone and I am fulfilling a promise I made and I said my prayer for him. I wanted to share that because in a few ways it seems appropriate here. In all honesty I do believe there are true Atheists in the world and I honestly thought in my heart that that soldier was one but I guess my judgement was off a little.   I did a lot of thinking after that day and night about many things in life and how we really think we know so much when in all reality we know very little. We are trying to live a life we think is what we want but in the very very far back corner of out heart, soul and brain their is that  very small question mark saying " Is this all there is or is there so much more"?   I have suffered a lot of grief in my life but I think there is always someone out there that has suffered so much more. I often allow my mind go back to 1990 when I buried my Father I dearly loved in April totally unexpected, my Grandfather I loved in June, My brother next oldest to me passed unexpectedly in his sleep in July at the age of 41 and my son which was expected  four 4 years and was living on borrowed time since the night of his accident.  He passed away in August 1990. Lost the Love of my life in 97 to a heart attack.   I look at this world today and I wonder how it has lasted as long as it has with every one complaining about everything someone else is doing or saying and all of the petty little things that people can find to argue about. Has anyone besides me ever wondered what it would be like to just 1 time in their life turned on the TV and the evening news reporter saying   "Well, we have had another day of peace across the world and the weather is nice and that is the news for today!"  I have and it is a beautiful thought until reality sets back in....................jmho

I think you and Big K are both right and it turned off like a water faucet cause I was looking at gun prices a couple weeks ago cause I had a little money to invest and I figured I would invest it in firearms. Figure I could always get my money back. Glad I only bought 2 back then because right now I can't sell either one of them and looks like I will be making safe queens out of both and won't even have one of them till Wednesday. Bottom fell out on it before I even got it from the guy............ :shrug: :shrug:  Maybe the November elections will get folks buying again. I'm hoping it gets jump started by something else because the elections we need to win........JMHO

:panic: Is it just me or has handgun prices began to come back down?  I go and look at prices at Buds on line ever so often and I remember back when I bought my Bersa Thunder 380's back about 4 years ago I gave $219.00+ tax here locally plus normal stuff NCIC stuff. Then about a year later I went back to same store another 380 Bersa and it was $279.00+ all the other normal stuff. So I looked at Buds and it was $238.00 + goodies and saved about 25 bucks. Then about a year later local store was $349.00+ stuff and Buds was $319.00 + stuff.  Just went and looked at Buds and they are now $272.00 and that would be plus stuff. Did I imagine all those gun prices or did they really exist and now they are coming back down? I bought my LCP back about 3 years ago and gave 299.00 + stuff and when I looked about 2 months ago they were like 359.00 + and today they are $302.00. Now someone tell me I am not imagining all of this and it has really been happening........................ :shrug: :shrug:

:panic: If they are going to change the real Popeye & Brutus and Olive Oil for the benefit of our Children I would rather they just quit using the names and retire them and come up with their own Politically Correct Sailors and bully's and homely girl friends. Lets see   How about Harry Reedy,  Poppy Pelosi  and Slick Biden. That would work for politically correct names anyway. Just write about all the politically correct things they have done for the good of the country and make cartoons about it and see how many kids watch it...................... :shrug:...............jmho

Just teach your children that political correctness is for politicians only and not to be used by anyone out side of Government and when their teachers at school try to teach it have your child ask them if they are a teacher or a politician? I only have one grandson left in school and this is the truth. He is now in third grade and his teacher began talking about something the President said about how the people needed to learn more about other peoples origins and learn to accept other nationalities without prejudice.   I could not believe that my grandson raised his hand and when the teacher called on him he stood up and asked her if she was a politician because she sounded like one. She sent him to the office and his parents were. First mistake was sending him to office instead of answering his question and second mistake was calling my son and his wife to the school. The principal spoke to his parents first and told them what question he asked the teacher.    My son asked the principal what the teacher was discussing that made him ask the question. When the principal told him my son said that he was not going to apologize for his sons question because the teacher was trying to teach children what the Government is trying to brainwash children into believing it is right in it's immigration polices are and that he did not believe they were right either.   The Principal said he was going to send my grandson home 3 days for being disrespectful to the teacher and my son said that's fine and you can explain your teaching practices to News Channel 5 Investigates and any other news networks he could get to come out. Needless to say the principal left the room and was gone for about 10 minutes and when he came back in his office he sad the issue had been resolved and my grandson was going back to class.    That was about a month ago and their has been no more issues about it and his report card he got a B grade for that grade period in that class. I told my son not to let them teach him the PC BS and since my grandson has a very high IQ and he knows PC BS when he hears it. If not he will do like he did that day and raise his hand and ask questions. There are a few teachers that have been replaced in his school and it was because of their teaching beliefs and teaching formats from what has been learned by parents...... :cheers:

    I have been saying this since the long gun deal began in Texas and all that crap at Target started that these were all scam photos staged by the Moms organization and that for the most part is all fake and staged. Probably husbands of many of the Moms that do own the Long guns. If it happens just one time that someone gets pinned down and asked the right questions Moms will be caught dirty and that will be the end of them..........jmho

"When you are shipping a package that contains a handgun, you must verbally notify the UPS driver or UPS Customer Center clerk"   I did all of that and jumped through hoops and even provided all FFL paper work required and the guy still cut my package open because basically he thought I was lying about the ammo. I did find out that he was removed from Counter Service at the main hub on Elm Hill Pike to the Whites Creek location and put in a sorting section. I did receive an apology from  UPS for his actions and they told me what disciplinary action was taken and it is not the policy of UPS to assume any customer is lying about a package contents and not a policy to open a package................. :up:

Well, back about 7 years ago I was getting ready to ship a Mac11 and extra parts to a guy in Minnesota I sold on Gun Brokers. I had all the paper work, FFL's and everything needed in order when I went to the UPS store. They told me that they could not ship it and I needed to go to the UPS hub on Whites Creek Pike. I drive 29 miles to the hub and stand in line 45 minutes only to be told when I get up to the counter that they could not ship it and I needed to take it to the hub on Elm hill Pike because only the main hub of UPS could ship a firearm. I drove 34 miles to the hub on Elm Hill Pike.   Got there and was greeted by a nice guy. He asked me for the copy of the FFL dealers license the firearm was being shipped to. Once he saw that he proceeded to open the package to inspect the contents after asking me if their was any ammunition with the weapon and my reply was no. I spent a lot of time packing that Mac so it would not be damaged or anything in shipping and this guy whips out his pocket knife and undoes everything I was so careful to do.   I asked him why he had to open the box and he said I needed to check for ammo and I said I told you there was none and he said I know and then out of his mouth came the words and I suppose your mouth is a Prayer Book. I looked at him and said no but I am not a liar either and as you can see you didn't find any ammo. I watched as he got a new box and he repacked the entire package again and after he got it packed to my satisfaction the shipping process was completed and I bought $5,000.00 worth of insurance to make sure it got where it was suppose to go.   Once the guy opened the package and got a look at the gun I no longer trusted him and if the gun didn't make it to it's destination I was going to be paid for all the crap they put me through to ship it. I got an email 4 days later from the FFL dealer in Minnesota telling me they had received the package and inspected the contents along with the new owner and it was all in good shape.   First and last gun I have ever shipped. Now as a follow up I contacted the UPS Corporate Office about the man on the counter opening up my package and inspecting the contents. I got a reply back that what the counter man did not a UPS policy and it would be investigated and the person would be disciplined accordingly and thanked me for bringing it to their attention.

:rock:   I thought I was the only person that thought that way  dralarms... :up: I have had people ask me what I would do if my doctor ever told me I had a tumor and it might be Cancer. In the first case back 15 years ago when this doctor and I began our relationship I told her one thing that she was never allowed to do if she wanted to be my doctor.     If she ever found anything that was going to kill me she was not allow to tell me and remain my doctor. She has been my doctor for 16 years now and just went and had semi annual checkup yesterday and got Flu shot.    My philosophy on a tumor is I grew it, it's mine and I plan on keeping it and they can have it after I'm dead. Every one has to die of something and I plan on living till I die and then I won't really care....................jmho

All I can say is the Aurora shooter was far from crazy before and during the shooting. Now with that said he will be a raving lunatic by the time all these psychiatrists get done working him over. They are on the third test now. 1 yea ok!! Found fit to stand trial.  2 pushing the envelope but found fit to stand trial once again so his attorney goes for 3 and gets it.   With the layout of planning this guy put in play from ordering his equipment to bugging his apartment with explosives to his surrendering after the shooting when confronted by authorities shows he was totally sane. A crazy person would have shot themselves in the head like every one prior to and after his shooting.   He knew exactly what he was doing. In all honesty I would put a great portion on the blame of this shooting on the Professor he sent an assortment of his plans to that never came forward until after it was over. What was her excuse? "I never thought he would actually do it." She had almost a month to contact authorities and never did.   I was wondering when someone would try and sue someone over this and it was an Idea from the Brady group and not the actual parents that filed the suit for the parents. I figure an ambulance chasing lawyer would have came up with the plan but they didn't.   They could also sue the Theater owners also for making the theater a GUN FREE ZONE which by doing so failed to protect all the movie goers that went to the theater once the signs were in place.   There are a lot of different people that could be sued how many of these suits would be won. GOD only knows..........jmho

Glad you caught that TMF. I was going to ask that same question. I think Michael Jordan is a great role model for the youth of today. He is an intelligent business man, had a successful career in hoop Sports and I have never had to opportunity of meeting him but would like to some day and shake his hand.................jmho

Well, I was expecting it to have something to do with Race before I ever opened it up and I was right. Also you have a historian that thinks the records might be of vital statistics and a major part of history.   Where was this historian when they were re writing our U.S. History Books used in our schools that had a great many if not all the history of Slavery and a good portion of the Civil War removed.   They said that the old history books were very racial and discriminated against African Americans so after the Civil Rights Bills were signed into law the history books got re written and a part of this nations history was erased at the same time.   I agree with all my heart that those were some very dark times in this country's history and I don't think any one man has the right to buy another man into slavery and I never ever will but that was a part of our heritage that many of the young African American Children will never know and will never be able to see how far they have come and have that pride to know how far they have come. They are not held back by the White people. They are held back by their own leaders............jmho   The only thing they will know is what lies people like Jesse Jackson and and Al Sharpton tell them.......................JMHO!!!!  

I have found that if I use the same desk top logo without ever logging out eventually it will fail to sign me in to the site and I have to do it manually and then place a new logo on desk top and it's good for about 4 to 6 months before it begins acting up again. Not saying this is your issue but I found it to be mine a while back..............jmho

Well, it's like I said earlier, it is what you say in Tinsel town or to the press that determines whether your going to continue working or not as an actor/actress these days. If the press wanted to be fair which we all know that is a joke at best but if they did actually want to be fair they would not ask the people that make their living in Hollywood what their views are in that area at all. They should not be forced to put their personal feelings out in the public eye and put their livelihoods in jeopardy................jmho. You can bet if someone from the press asked me my opinion on this topic and my job was on the line with my reply, it would be "None of your damn business."........................jmho 

Well, I guess another one bites the dust.......... :up: I think a lot of it is the actors that want to keep working in some cases know not to speak out in favor of guns or be Pro gun. Many of those who have are not getting work. There have been quite a few that after they have retired have spoke out favorably about guns and are Pro gun and many of them join the NRA. But to do it before your ready to retire and you will be put in early retirement like it or not.............jmho

I just went and tried it to open up my desk top TGO Icon and I had to double click it to open it. May be time for a new mouse.
