  1. Ok, just talked to a buddy of mine and you know him yote cause he was the guy in that Mazda Pickup that bought that safe from you and we met you to pick it up. He has an enclosed Featherlite trailer same size as the one your looking to buy. He is a Harley guy and he can put two Harleys and all his gear he takes on road trips and he goes all over the country and has been stopped several times in different states and when he shows them his Tennessee drivers license and they check it out they are told by their dispatchers that Tennessee does not require that trailer be tagged and they give him his license back and send him on his way. I guess it all depends of the officers demeanor as to if he writes the ticket or not but so far Butch has had not tickets issued and he has been towing that trailer for at least 10 years and has gone to Florida which is were he is right now and he has towed to Sturgis several times with no issues............All I will say is good luck with which ever choice you choose.........................
  2. Over the years the African Americans have been known by many different Classes or Nationalities of  people depending on who you ask. i am not trying to start an issue he so please don't take offense by my questions.   When I was a very young man growing up in West Chicago and having a lot of African American friends they were kind of offended if they were called Negro and they became wanting to be called Black so as time passed they were called Blacks And then as time passed by and the Civil Rights movement came and the Desegregation and  Discrimination laws were signed into effect by the President they took a new role as African Americans. Now here is where I get a little confused. If a person is born in America they are an American plain and simple  (well should be anyway).  I have friends that are of Irish descent  that were born here but they are not Irish Americans. They are Americans.   I have friends that were born here that are of German descent and they are not German Americans. They are Americans. I have friends that are of many different nationalities from generations past that have been born here and they are all Americans. I also have some African American friends that were born here and raised here but for some reason unbeknownst to me for some reason cannot just be Americans but must be African Americans.   Now with that said I do have one friend that is a true African American. He was born in Nigeria and is of Nigerian descent and came here as a child at 8 years old and became a legalized American Citizen at the age of 17. He and I were having lunch one day and he was talking about his and I asked him which he preferred to be known as and his reply was I am an American. I was an African and now I am an American were his words.   So now Since that lunch I have always wondered why Africa Americans that have been born here and raised here and educated here don't want to be called Americans but would rather be called African Americans. I ask my friend from Nigeria and he had no answer for the question. He just said he was very proud to be an American............Just seeking input and thought on this issue............................... :ugh:  :ugh:
  3. has anyone heard from Smoke recently. Last post I read was he would give me more thumbs up if I would split up my posts into sections. I began doing that and have not hear a word out of his since.  Anyone heard from him?.......................... :ugh: :ugh:
  4. Well, I pretty much know what are good and what are bad decisions when it comes to terms of engagement in a self defense scenario. I also have given a lot of thought as to what is a safe distance before the threat is no longer there and is retreating or on the ground moving or not moving. Moving means could still be a threat so you keep your vigilance until the threat is completely neutralized. Many of these decisions are made in seconds or milliseconds and practicing for that and covering all of most scenarios is almost impossible so you try to put what would be the most likely and that is what you base your thought and practice towards. I don't go anywhere near as many places as I did say 5 years ago so if I do become involved in a situation  pretty much know where it could and would happen. heck I seldom get out of city limits of Gallatin more than once a month and sometimes never. Kroger store, Walmart Store, TSC store, Walgreens and sometimes the park/boat launch ramp at the lake near my house to let my Kasey get some exercise. At the Park I remain very vigilant if their are other people there which from now till next Spring won't be many.
  5. Oh I do agree I am very glad he was there and his shot did what it needed to do to stop the carnage but it just seems that in most cases recently when law enforcement people are forced to use their weapons in up close and personal situations their shot placement seems to be for the most part off the mark. The only one that I have heard of recently was the one in  Ferguson MO and even after being attack by a man the size of a bear and being injured that officer was able to shoot and kill his assailant and they want to crucify him for doing his job. I want to give him a commendation for Bravery for his actions................jmho
  6. If I am not mistaken Red that is Mr. the Old Sears Farm tobacco barn at the Narrows and use to belong to a family named Jackson back when it was built many moons ago. Man I grew up on that river and always loved floating the Narrows of the Harpeth in jon boats small mouth fishing. I think if anyone would like to enjoy reading a little bit of history about Tennessee they would enjoy reading about how that cave came to be. Most folks probably don't know it was man made.........
  7. After what he did I would think no leader of any Mosque is going to admit to knowing him because they are hiding in this country  under the guise of Peace and Love when any American with 1 brain cell working knows better. They have pictures of him dressed in all the Muslim Garb, You have people telling authorities that he was trying to convert them to Muslim faith and can't be workplace violence because he didn't work there any more so draw your own conclusions. I have mine...................jmho
  8. Ok, I have read all these again refreshing myself plus can't sleep but I am also curious about another issue that has been touched on ever so lightly and I want to ask a question about Firearm Calibers. I know most people are either 9MM or 45 caliber folks just by reading posts. Now I on the other hand prefer the 380 and have several of them. 7 to be exact and when talking about where you will most likely want to put your first few rounds in a self defense situation. A lot of folks I have spoke with ask me why I carry such a  small caliber and why I don't have a 9MM or larger. I feel that a 380 Caliber pistol will be more than enough power to knock even a larger man down with 2-3 95gr 380 Ball rounds center mass of his chest which would be my first choice to begin putting rounds. Now with that being said I have spoke with a lot of people that shoot 9mm, 40 's and larger and my question to them is do you ever think that at close range which stats show in most confrontations are 5 yards or less that a larger caliber weapon has a much better chance of passing through your target and possibly striking someone standing behind tour impending target? Is there a time when you can have to much fire power in some instances. I do own a 40 but never carry it. Don't see the need What I do plan on buying and it is on top of my list and that is a Bersa Thunder 380 Plus merely because I want a weapon with more rounds with out having to reload and no need to carry extra magazines as I do now for my Bersa's.............Just wanting to learn more is all.
  9. Heck I don't go to my mail box out at the road any more unarmed. Might run into a stupid guy that brings a knife to a gun fight..... :ugh:  Last few sales I have been to that were not TGO member related sales I was armed and my shot gun rider was well armed and had my back the whole time. I am done buying guns for awhile. I did an evaluation of my safes today and found a couple I forgot I even still had.......................
  10. Your not old my friend, You are like me, Just well preserved...................... :ugh:
  11. Gosh Tricky !!!!!!!!!!!   Do you honestly think this guy has any plans at all of answering any questions? He probably already has 5 Muslim Lawyers surrounding him in the hospital bed protecting him from saying anything. I just wish that people would spend a little more time on the range if they are in law enforcement. They are not shooting their bullets on the range but then maybe when they really need to make a kill shot they can. They said that the Shooter at Ft Hood was shop by an MP and the one brother in Boston that died did not doe from gun shots even though he was shot a couple times. They said he was killed when his younger brother ran him over in his escape. Then you have the younger brother in the boat and according to news there were several rounds fired in the boat yet this guy lives and then you have this guy also shot by a LEO and lives. ...............
  12. What happens if you saw him on camera in daylight morning hours????  You would just have to quit hunting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  13. Yep but shoots better.......................jmho
  14. I have to agree here. I think the 93 bucks for a one time tag might be a lot less costly than an out of state ticket might be...........jmho
  15. I only have two regrets about this 1st is of course the loss of the lady's life and the injury of the other for for which I will be sending prayers.   My second regret is that the shooter was not a much better shot with his rifle and for some reason Mohammad must be pritecting these guys because they get shot and seldom die Ft Hood Shooter the Boston Bomber younger brother and now this guy.               Also I'm confused about this part of the report. The shooter was a former CEO of this business yet he is there with a rifle doing WHAT??? Was he a security guard for the company. If so I would really call that a major drop in Salary and position. If he was not the Security and was not the CEO what was he doing on the scene with a rifle??? Why not a hand gun?  Has anyone else figure this out that can help an old man finding a problem grasping......................    (  Officials say at that point, Mark Vaughan, an Oklahoma County reserve deputy and a former CEO of the business, shot him as he was actively stabbing Johnson.  )
  16. I have seen their commercials on TV and the idea of dumping hot soup in a bowl made of bread is just about the biggest turn off I have ever seen. I want my soup in a bowl and my bread sticks on the side but really prefer crackers with soup anyway. But don't have to worry cause the signs on the doors will keep me out......................jmho
  17. This is going to be a plan of survival of the fittest or the fastest or both. The so-called real true friendly Muslims ask us to trust them but do they do anything to cause us to really trust them. I can promise you this convert attended a Mosque somewhere and the suppose to be real Muslim friends of Americans had to know the man was dangerous and they should have notified someone about him. I mean it is seldom when a crime of this nature is not known by others that fail to step up. People knew about most all of the mass shootings because there were warning signs but no one spoke up. You know there we also the Supposed Friendly Muslims that knew about the Boston Bombing and said nothing. So in all honesty which ones do you trust? Keep you powder try and ready loaded and locked...................................jmho
  18. Yep and they say they come to spread the word of Mohammad and are a peaceful religion but with that said there are some really crazy folks in most religions but that is about the only one I know that wants to kill you if you say no to joining them....................jmho
  19. Back many many years ago my father had a small open top low side trailer a riding mower may not have even fit on and they made him buy the semi tag after he got stopped by a state trooper and received ticket for no tag on a Semi trailer so go  figure that one out. Back then the tags were based on size of trailer. When my Father went to get the tags they ask him for the title and he said, I don't have one and the court clerk said, how do you prove ownership and my father said with this bill of sale. Now this is were it gets really good.   My father bought this little trailer in Illinois for some small stuff he wanted to pack in it when were moved south. The clerk said you didn't pay any tax and my father said I bought it from an individual and the guy said does not matter, you have to pay sales tax. My father said ok, who do I pay it to since I bought it in Illinois and I now live in Tennessee. The guy said I will be right back. He comes back and says you pay us and we forward it back to the state of Illinois.   Ok My father was a very patient man all his life and I never saw him get mad about anything and he was not even getting mad about this but as it went on  he was starting to smile. Now because the guy was a friend of my fathers that sold him the trailer he only pay 35 bucks for it and that was what it said on the receipt. So now the guy looks at my father and asks what the size of the trailer is and my father says well lets see, it says here on the receipt that is it 5 X 8 open top trailer. The guy is in this huge book looking up semi trailer sizes and he says it cannot be that size because our book does not show a semi trailer that small.   My father said well the Tennessee State Trooper that wrote me this ticket I am sure will argue that fact with you. Pretty soon another man joined in on trying to figure it out and this was the actual County Court Clerk. After another 20 or so minutes the Clerk was about to tell my father to take it to the judge when my Grandfather walked into the clerks office and up beside my father and said He son, whats taking so long and the clerks all raised their heads when they heard my grandfathers voice.   The actual clerk asks   "Bubba Lee ( my Grandfathers nick name) do you know this gentleman?" and my grandfather said "yep, greatest son in law a man can have and this one is married to my only daughter." Well we need to take care of this issue right now. One of the other clerks ask for my fathers ticket from the Trooper and my father gave it to him. He left the office and went across to the judges chambers and came back with a case dismissed stamp on the ticket and signed by the judge.   They handed my father a Semi Tag and a registration for the trailer and we were able to leave with the problem fixed. That little trailer sat in back of the barn for about 30 years until it was nothing but a pile of rust and never moved again. I still visit the old family ranch even though we have not owned it in many years because my son is buried in our family cemetery up there and I always look behind the old barn the road goes past and think about that old trailer and my father and Grandfather. My grand father was known by everyone in Cheatham County and the main county road that that runs through the Ranch now bares his name. "Lee Greer Road"
  20. I have been watching a new little 3 or 4 business mini mall being built at the end of my road I live on. Heard several people in Krogers about 3 weeks ago talking about a great new Restaurant was going to be in one of the shops. It is in the big one on the end but it will never see my money. Panera's will open up there. Signs are up and they will open any day now. I was hoping for a good restaurant was coming to town but not my bubble has busted once again........................
  21. I agree 1000% Peace. I think the time had drawn very close where we all need to stay more vigil then any other time and I have been avoiding GFZ's for weeks now.  Very good advice
  22. The Medias are probably trying to play it down to prevent a panic. This is what the ISIS Radical Muslims have been doing to anyone that refuses to convert and this Proclaimed Radical Muslin was trying to get the people he worked with to convert did what they are doing and they might be afraid folks might open season on Muslims here.
  23. Man , I have fished all my life and I truly miss my dad and our outings. My dad would call me up and ask me if I wanted to go drowned some worms. That's what he called fishing. We bank fished for many years and he caught a million Blue Gills I guess. After his passing I took up Bass Fishing and have a Skeeter Bass boat and I fished so much that I literally burned my self out on it. I still have a Skeeter Bass Boat but now Son in Law keeps it at his place cause he has the fever I had 15 years ago and he is on the lake every spare minute. He still calls me up hoping I will get the bug again as I was the one that got his started going with me about 6 years ago but I just politely say no and he takes one of the grand kids or a friend with him. I had a wonderful life of fishing from about age 6 and do not regret 1 minute of the time I dedicated to it but I just don't go any more. I am not saying I will never go again but have not been in 3 years but I still think about it a lot.............. :pleased:
  24. Well, I have a feeling there will be a lot more of these type attacks as promised by ISIS on Westerners or Americans. I have no doubt that we have 100's if not 1000's of these type people here already. I mean after all Our President promised us our southern Borders were completely secured............... :shake: :shake:  I guess that means the bad guys that got in before he SECURED them are not trapped inside the country with us...........
  25. If the inner structure for an airliner was going to suffer any damage or fall apart it would be when it hits the enormous air pockets they hit and the plane drops several 100 feet in a couple seconds and lands hard on the lower hard air platform and often people are injured when they hit the ceiling of the aircraft along with other objects............jmho
