i have always figured that those shotguns are designed as Self defense/ Home defense weapon so the gas chamber would be designed more for those particular rounds and not for low powered hunting loads.......jmho

Well, I want them to begin their plans in to try confiscation of gun in their fine state of Sand and Surf first and let them start in L.A. county or San Bernadino  County and if they have any police officers left after they try to disarm those two counties I will be greatly surprised. I said years ago that is they go into L.A. to get the guns from the Latino gangs they will learn right there many many lessons about what military goes through when they are sent in to an urban warfare situation. Believe me they don't have enough police officers on the entire LA police for to clear 1 block in the Latino neighborhoods.They have areas in cities like L.A. , Chicago. Phili, NY, Miami, and many many more that police officers refuse to patrol in and then they talk about disarming someone?? I love the way elected officials don't think before signing a law of this type. "You just can't fix Stupid!!"

Thanks guys. I might look into it. Can't remember the last time I read anything that didn't come on a computer or a medicine bottle and have to use a magnify glass with many medicine bottles. I had to make the NRA quit sending me magazines like Rifleman because I had piles of them and never read them. I like to have never convinced them I didn't want something free. I would have gave them away but everyone I know is an NRA member and get them too.............. :rofl:  :rofl: 

Yea, that is how the audio version began. He said he was not yet a classified sniper but the CO left him in charge of the rifle while he was taking a break. He was ordered to fire and hesitated at first but was ordered to SHOOT and he fired at the same instant she dropped the grenade. I'm not sure exactly how it read but he either shot her or the grenade but either way she was dead.   Thanks Omega but I don't read enough to invest in any of this new fancy stuff out for sale these days. I don't have an Iphone or droid. I use a small flip phone to make and receive calls and can text on it if I choose to which is very seldom. Yea, I am kinda old fashion, let me re phrase that. I am really old fashion but I guess most of that comes with being old also. I bought the video Lone Survivor and watched it and then passed it through the family and have no clue who as it now....... :rofl: .   I will buy American Sniper and after watching it I will send it through the family so everyone gets to see it. I might by the audio version of the American Sniper and I might not. I hate it when one ruins the other. I read a lead into the the audio version of the book and it begins with Chris talking about a woman and a young boy coming out of a door as Marines are advancing into that area and he sees a hand grenade  and he is ordered to shoot her and that was as far as the into went so maybe it was not in the hard book version but it was in the audio version.. Last time our country had a President Assassinated was when JFK (a Democrat) was in office and we got LBJ which was a very sorry excuse for a President. With Kennedy we knew what we had and with LBJ the War Machines got what they wanted. With Obama, we know kind of what we have which has a book of flaws to long to mention but if anything did happen look what would fill his shoes . Shotgun Double barrel Joe Biden. That would be about like getting another LBJ but maybe even a little worse. Believe me when I say I am not a fan of either of the two of them but I do and always will respect the office they hold as long as I live..............jmho

i was gonna shave my head and a buddy of mine did his and said he won't do it again. He fishes like I do or did and said he cannot keep a ball cap on his head when running fast in bass boat. Had to stop and go back several times and pick up his hat so not going to shave mine.............jmho

I quite reading books many years ago and they going to the movie expecting to see anything even remotely close to the book. Now as I have gotten so old that my eyes are an issue and they don't print books In this size type  I just go see the movie or maybe not even both till in comes out on video and buy it.   One thing I will tell you about Eastwood's directing. He holds nothing back in a movie so if that piece of video was not in the book it was probably omitted from the book before publishing and Eastwood thought it should have not been and put it in. WOW sometimes being old ain't so bad. i just went and looked at the book and found out they make them in audio so might get to do both anyway...................... :up: :up:

you were one of the lucky ones that never got reported. I guess I was also along with my son and daughter when they were raising their kids but back many moons ago the reason the spankings stopped and the threats of spanking stopped was back when DCH and DHS were coming down on people like gang busters for any type of child abuse including spanking. Kids were calling hot lines claiming their parents abused them just to get control of their parents and it worked really well. The Department of Children Services said that any type of corporal punishment such as spankings what so ever was abuse and you would be arrested if reported and your children may be taken away. You could not even raise your voice to them and let a neighbor hear it and report you. In the last 5  or more years they have backed way off on it but the damage was already done. They realized to late that they cannot do a better job of raising your children than you can but like I said to little to late I think. ...............jmho

  In all honesty Ugly I think most adult true adult Americans already know and can read the writing on the wall. I think it is the younger generation that are in for the really rude awakening because it is the new college Graduates and even the High School graduates that are old enough to vote but not smart enough to stop and take a long hard look at what is happening to the world around them. I have seen news interviews of reporters just out on the streets asking very common sense questions and about 85+% get the answer wrong. Stories that were on the nightly news the evening prior to interviews and they cannot answer them correctly. I love the question of when was the last time you watched the evening news and the answer is either never or "What time does it come on?" My all time favorite question of all is. Who is the President of the United States and about 55% of the ones asked don't know!!!!! Oh yea and most of the interviews are taking place while the person being interviewed is also texting on their phone and the reported has to re-peat the question at least 3 times to get the stupid answer that drools out of that persons face. Folks these are the people that will be in charge of our country in the future and I really feel sorry for my children and grandchildren because with all probability I will be dead by then of old age. I hope so anyway...................jmho

Welcome to Freedom Land man.............. :up: :up:  I saw on the news last evening that another large company is opening up a new 12 million dollar location here in Tennessee that has a home base in New York. They have already mentioned an expansion in the next two years and moving there New York division down to Tennessee also. I am seeing more and more advertisements Paid for by the state of New York and  in the commercials they are almost begging companies to come their and open up shop. They are almost promising companies the keys to the state with zero taxes of any kind for the first 10 years the business is open and they are still losing businesses faster every day. They are just to ignorant to realize their liberal politicians running the state are driving off all their industry and yet they keep re-electing them. Sorry to hear about your mother. Lost mine the same way about 9 years ago. She lived about half way to hospital but passed away in route for smoke inhalation also..............Again sorry bout your mom

I was totally exhausted after watching it and had to go sit and rest in my recliner. The scenery is breathtaking to say the least. If my wife was still alive we would never be home. We would be traveling to see as many wonders as this great country has to offer and fill as many bucket list wishes as we could. When she passed away I threw that bucket list away and started a much shorter one and am slowly marking off things as I accomplish them.........Wonderful video for sure and thanks for posting it............. :up:  :up: 

I can only really vouch for how I was raised and for me to curse in the presence of either of my parents, Grand parents or any other elders not related and it got back to my parents I knew a trip to the wood shed was in my immediate future. In turn I raised my boys in that same manner and they raised theirs in the manner they were raised in.  I did catch one of my grandsons at about the age of 12 allow himself to say a few foul words within ear shot of me and I called him out on it right then. I told him what I thought about his actions and I said, This time it is between you and I but if I ever hear that from you again it will get back to your father. Never heard him say those words again and he is 23 now. I will not go into a long story but I still blame the DHS And DCS for the problem with children today far more than their parents..................jmho

In all honesty Ugly, I think I am happier not having a  press that has all the real news that is news to broadcast because to actually know the truth would probably cause most true adult Americans to have night mares just by knowing how bad a shape our country is really in...............jmho

i have a friend that had to 6.5 guns back years ago. One Italian and one Japanese. He did his own sporterirzing  of them for deer hunting and I was actually surprised at the number of deer he was able to bag with them. This was back in the mid to late 60's. Have not seen him since our High School Class reunion about 25 years ago so have no clue if he still has them or if he is even still alive. I shot them both a couple times while down at his place when we were still in High School but I hunted with my 308 Savage or my pre 63 Lever Winchester 30/30.

I am guessing daddyo that when word gets out about why he is in prison he will get his in the end and probably both ends and what ever he gets it won't be enough...................jmho

I grew up around firearms and have always been around them. Not having a gun or 10 in the house just would not seem normal. I will say I was sure glad to see the new approach and introduction of Hand gun carry permits because now it allows me to legally carry one with their blessings instead of me depending on being charged with that trumped up charge of having a gun for the purpose of going armed. Over my many years of being armed I can only remember 1 time I got caught and it was funny later but my lawyer didn't think so. i had a pocket 380 on me when I was going up to finalize my divorce and forgot I had to pass through metal detector till I was standing in front of it. My lawyer walked through it and I looked at the lady Sheriffs deputy sitting on the stool with the other deputy standing beside her. I just looked at my lawyer and looked at the deputies and told them that I had a gun in my back pocket that i forgot to leave in my truck. The two deputies looked at my lawyer and one laughed out loud and the other one told me to go lock it in my vehicle and come back in. I did and went right through up stairs 15 minutes later free man but was wondering if I would be when I got down stairs.  I stepped off the elevator and began to walk past the deputies and I just had to ask, so I stopped and asked them why they chose the action they took. One of them looked at me and said because you have an honest face and they both began laughing and one said because a real bad guy is not going to bring a gun into a court house. They know better and you were up front honest about having it. I thanked them and went on about my business. I don't know if they could have arrested me at that point for saying I had a gun or not but I am sure they probably could have if I took it out of my pocket to put in the basket they give you to walk through the detector. I was thrilled when they made I legal but in all reality I don't think I have gone unarmed since Jr High. When I began high school at Hyde Park High School in West Chicago I was armed every day. Now that was also back in the early 60's and yea we had gangs and gang fights but when our gangs butted heads everyone left their guns at home and it was settled with fists. Not like today with white hot lead flying. All of us got banged up but no one ever got killed...................... :up:  :up: 

I agree with you 110% Omega. The job of protecting the President is not a political one at all. The job of protecting the President of the United States should be considered an honor just to be chosen and intrusted with that kind of responsibility.  I know Cherokee Slim had some choice words for their attitudes when he got to work with them but if I am not mistaken their was an attempt on President Fords life once.   We had only buried about 12 or 13 years earlier and Robert Kennedy in 1967 so back then it was very hard to be an SS person and it required a great deal of "GRIT" and there was always that thought of will you take a bullet to protect the CIC? That question is still out there today and I have my doubts about if this group would be willing to step in front of a gun pointed at President Obama and take that bullet.     I said in an earlier post in another thread that if I were on the SS under this administration and assigned to the Presidents person protection I would indeed take a bullet for him or a member of the first family because that is my job and I knew the risks going in......................JMHO
