  1. Well right now I am paying $53.94 with cricket and have unlimited talk, unlimited nation wide long distance, Call waiting, 3 way calling, voice mail, text, and 3G of Broadband for computer and a few other options I don't even have turned on that I could have at no extra charge and all on my little flip phone I dearly love. Don't want anything the do with any phone that is flat with a screen that you moves things around with your finger period. In all honesty Technology to a point SUCKS!!!!!     I want you to know that I went to cell phone store with Grandson to buy a new cell phone he wanted. Yea one of them damn smart phones. He told the guy what he wanted and the guy goes back and says yep, greatest thing going right now. I want you to know that before he got done having the phone programmed the guy asked him if he was sure he didn't want the updated version of that phone because it came out a week ago and the new version came out last night at midnight. It's a crock when your buying was it suppose to be the newest and find out your brand new phone is already obsolete............ Technology just needs to slow down so the good guys can catch up with the bad guys (hackers)..............jmho
  2. I have had the Verizon episode before I went to Cricket and I won't ever make that mistake again. I was with a small phone company that i can't even remember the name of now but I loved the company and I could bank any unused minutes up to the next month and they kept adding u because I didn't ever use my 300 minutes.     Well Verizon bought out this little company but never bothered to notify the customers of the little company to let them know all of their banked minutes were not longer good. Well had some family emergencies that month and used my phone a lot. When Verizon converted every ones account every ones service went to 100 minutes which meant mine went from 300 plus my banked minutes.   First time I learned that Verizon had purchased the small company was when I got a bill from Verizon for $1096.35 for 1 month because they charged me a ridiculous price for all the minutes I used over 100. I told them to turn off my service and where they could put that damn bill. They sued me which I knew they would. Lets put it this way. Evidently the judge in court that day must have had the small phone company service also. Cause he told the Verizon rep and their attorney that when they could provide 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt proof that they contacted every person that was a customer of the small company of their intentions come back to court and until then my case was dismissed and I owed them zero. Screw me once your fault, Screw twice my fault. It is never going to be my fault cause no one gets a second shot a screwing me..........................jmho
  3. Last time I went to one of those I was only allowed to shoot once and won a Country Ham but was asked to leave. I asked if I could just put my gun up and watch and the guy said yea but when your watching folks shoot and the hair on the back of you neck keeps standing up from folks looking at you, you figure it's time to leave. I went there and met my little brother there cause he shot at this one in Greenbrier Fire Department Turkey shoot often. I told him to see if he could find out why I was asked to leave. He told me later that it is seldom that a shooter shoots a gun at the paper target and it cuts the center out of the target and cuts the target stick in half.   He said that indicates a Sleeved gun and they are illegal at Turkey Shoots. Well since I use to shoot turkey shoots up north at gun clubs but we shot clay pigeons coming out of trap houses it was a different situation. But with that said I was not using my  clay bird gun either. I was using a gun I got from my older brother in a trade for an old hump back Browning semi auto I had he wanted. It was a gun made in Brazil and was a 12 gauge 2 3/4- 3 in chamber O/U 30" F&F duck gun. Until that day I had never fired the gun and had no clue what kind of pattern it shot.     Later on that Fall when duck season opened up I was invited to go duck hunting with a few friends and I took that O/U and bought 1 box of 3 inch and had a box of 2 3/4 HB# 4 shot. I was knocking down ducks with the #4 shot rounds that the other guys were having trouble reaching with 3 inch magnums. After the day was over I think I bagged about 11 ducks of assorted breeds and everyone got birds but I had this one buddy that walked up to me and asked if I would sell the gun. I mean this was a beautiful O/U all engraved with really beautiful wood, gold trigger with select safety to choose which barrel you could fire.     In all honesty I have never been into pretty guns but more into guns I don't mind scratching or using without worrying about them. He was a buddy and a metro Police officer and at first I stumbled about throwing an answer out and he said I will give you $900.00 cash for the gun. I shudder a second and he went to a grand and I handed him the gun but I was going to hand it to him on $900.00.     I didn't really have anything in the gun. My brother gave me the gun and $300.00 for the Browning Humpback that I had $150.00 in. I spoke to him about a year or so ago at a pawn shop that a mutual friend of ours owns and he still has that gun and shoots it every duck season and I think we made that deal back in I want to say 87 or 88. I had to laugh when he told me he took it the a Police Department Fund Raiser Turkey shoot for Toys for Tots and was disqualified and had to go home and get a different gun and come back. I said yea i should have warned you about that................   We had a good laugh over that. That was the 1st and only time going to a meat shoot down here........
  4. For those of you that are not sure how things work. When a company reaches a point that it can begin franchising it's business name it does so because they can receive a small amount of funds from every franchise store that is open. Normally 7% but that means that every franchise store receives the benefits of all the advertising that is done by corporate as part of that 7% which to me is really cheap advertising benefits. Now with that said Corporate has a set layout of rules that each franchise store is required to follow to remain part of the family of that business. I went and looked at the basic requirements to become a Papa John franchise location and the decision of whether you make your business a gun free work environment and business it entirely up to the Franchise Owner of that particular store or chain of stores they own and not the policy of Papa Johns Corporation.
  5. Well, all good things must come to an end as usual. I have been with Cricket Phone Service for almost 16 years with phone and 10 years with phone and broad band Service. Cricket had 4.5 million customers nation wide and AT&T absorbed them like they were flea on an elephants butt. So sometime with in the next year my cricket flip phone will be junk and I will be forced to buy a 500.00 I-phone of some kind and have no clue about what will happen to my computer broad band. I can tell them right now, I ain't buying no $500.00+ phone from any one and I will going back to dial up before I will pay for an outrageous computer on line server. So what kind of phone companies are ya'll using and are you happy with them cause I will be switching shortly if I can find one affordable.  Any replies will e greatly appreciated................................
  6. I would like to thank each and every member for supporting me in their choice to buy a Pizza from Papa Johns this weekend. I do realize there has been a history with employees with the company and I know that you can find those same issues with every company in that type of business. None of them are without fault. I know the issue was recently mentioned from a former employee that Papa Johns has a great and powerful PR firm but so does every other company that deals and depends on the public to survive. Like I mentioned earlier I lost a close friend in a robbery similar to the one last week and he worked for Bellisarios and there was 3 other employees killed with him and no one from any of the families heard one word from the Bellisario's. There was two Dominoes drivers robbed and killed and not one word to the families from Dominoes to either family. Now of course Papa Johns has a Collateral damage team in their PR section and they could have sent any higher up representative to cover the PR issues. I'm sure it was not the PR firms idea that John Schnatter(Papa John) himself be the one to go. He runs the company and could have sent anyone but chose to go himself. For that the man has earned my respect. Below is a part of the interview with the young mans sister. She didn't expect this either and I feel the same way the family did. Interview: We never once imagined that this would touch anyone high up in the Papa John's corporate office, let alone, John Schnatter," Devan Cronin wrote. "He was visibly distraught when speaking to my family about the tragic loss of my brother and it was apparent that he didn't come just to pay lip service." Cronin said Papa John's also paid for Schaffer's funeral service and medical expenses. But, she added, "this display of support was so much more meaningful than any monetary donation."
  7. Well, who isn't money driven at one point of another? I went and looked at the link you have posted. I would expect him to have a big fine home. so what!!! If you were a successful business man would you live in the Government housing or a nice house in the country. There are disgruntled employees from every company on earth. I don't care if they were paid minimum wages or $750,000.00 a year. If they get fired or quit they will always bad mouth the company. If a person is not happy in his job he has 3 choices. Get a new one. Live on the street on Welfare or open his own business and become one of those people they seem to hate.........................jmho

  9. Yea, I know Glock, I went and looked at the Corporate program and could not find any where that the corporation itself has a firearms issue. But then about 85% of Papa Johns is franchise businesses owned by people other than Papa John himself. Heck Peyton Manning owns about 12 papa John stores in the Greater Denver area. That is why it just depends on which franchise owner operates the store in your neighborhood as to whether your firearms are welcome of not. A lot of the franchises leave that decision up to the store managers. I carry concealed everywhere I go and make sure I don't even print and I have got to where I don't even bother looking for the signs anymore. If I want to go in I do sign or no sign. If they don't want me business they can ask me to leave...............jmho
  10. Yea Tricky, several years back a Papa Johns Pizza driver shot an armed robber and ended up getting fired over it and another disgruntled employee that got fired for getting robbed and it looked like 99% inside job and the Police never investigated it. I could probably go to Pizza Hut, Dominoes Jet Pizza of any company that does home deliveries that deals in cash and find a book of these kind of issues. Thing is I do know that two Dominoes drivers were killed on year and not one person from the Dominoes Organization showed up or gave a damn. Just hired more warm bodies.................jmho
  11. Ok, I am willing to admit that there has been issues in the Papa Johns Organization but so has their been in every one of the Pizza delivery companies. No denying that. But I had a very good friend killed during an Armed robbery of the Bellisario's Restaurant which also had the no gun policy and my friend Chris Karis and 3 other employees had their hands tied behind their backs face down on the floor and after the bad guys emptied all the money locations one walked up and shot each one of them in the back of the head and executed them. The restaurant had been closed about 15 minutes and they came in when one of the employees took out some trash. My friend was killed because the men and women that robbed the place were ex employees and knew the routines and knew the back door would get opened. Chris was getting married in a month and was just moved up to manager 2 weeks earlier and moved to that store.  Yea they caught all  the bad people and they are all in prison and will be until they are dead I hope but with politics as they are they could all be free with the next change of the Governor. Ray Blanton was prepared to release 34 inmates on his night before leaving office. Only GOD and a few words in Lamar Alexanders ear prevented that from happening.  There is probably a few here that remember those days. The only good bad guy is a dead one killed by a good guy.....................I will still be buying a Pizza Friday night.
  12. Of course these days more than any time in history when a person goes to a strangers house to deliver food and there is going to be a cash transaction that person some be armed. The worry is not the person receiving the food that is the risk. It's who the person my be confronted by to and from the location or those that may walk through the door of the store with a gun in hand such as last week....................jmho
  13. That is your decision and I respect it. I went and read that entire story in that link and then went and looked for a police statement and there was never a complaint filed evidently because there is not police report for an armed robbery of a Papa Johns Pizza Driver. I also went and read many of the comments about it and some said it was an inside job and others took the same outlook as you. I  will be buying a Papa Johns Pizza on Friday night because I trust what took place last weekend a lot more than a bunch of hearsay from an angry former employee that is alive and breathing......................jmho
  14. Well maybe we can change that huh? You can bet they may be looking at it in PJ Corporate right now. Litttle nudge might help.......
  15. Yep, I will be getting a large loaded and a Cookie...................Those cookies are great!!! I has a slice of one at a friends house. There goes my new diet started a week ago..................  We are committed so lets make sure we show up.....................
  16. Link is working now!!!!
  17. Make sure you tell them how many members we have an that we hope to get as many ordering as possible on Friday or over this next weekend but Friday will be main ordering evening and that is a great idea Dusty........................
  18. The Tennessee Firearms Association is conducting a survey on our opinions as gun owners regarding firearms legislation that could, or should, come up in the next Tennessee Legislature. There are only about 8 questions. They would like you to express your opinions at the TFA site here:         http://app.getresponse.com/survey.html?x=a62b&s=zMK1z6&u=izZc&v=fss&y=e&
  19. We get them a little in the evenings but a little Skin so soft spray from Avon and their gone..............
  20. + 1 for Friday night
  21. Well, this will be my first Papa Johns Pizza but you can bet it won't be my last if it is as good as some folks say they are that I have ask. A lot of it will depend on how it is when I eat it cold out of fridge the next morning.........I dearly love cold pizza and coffee in the morning. When I read that the CEO of Papa Johns was there and they showed pictures of him that sold me for sure. I'm sure that probably 90% of the Papa Johns Pizza Stores are franchise own and the one where the young man died is probably a franchise store. So for the CEO of such a large Corporation to show that kind of feeling towards a young man and employee and his family was just over the top for me.   I wish there was some way we could all get together across the unity of TGO'ers and all order a pizza at the same time and let them know that we care about  CEO Papa John and have great admiration for his stepping up to the plate for the family and being there for them. Do you think this could be done and could we get it organized quick enough? Other wise just make sure it's a Papa Johns weekend at your house on Saturday or Sunday............................
  22. On 1 weekend a month I will usually order in and get something delivered so I don't have to cook and this week I think I will be ordering a Papa Johns pizza. I normally order Pizza Hut or Dominoes because they are both less then 5 minutes away and if I do pick up it's close by. I have no clue were Papa Johns is located at here but I know we have one cause I have seen their cars running around. I will also have it delivered and make sure I tip the driver. The owner of that company really gained a lot my respect when he did what he did last weekend...................jmho
  23. vontar and Tricky are both head on with some good points. I really enjoy wildlife shows and love shows shot in Alaska and the upper northwest Wilderness but it seems that about any shows that are great the first year seems to lose a lot the second and third year. I use to really enjoy shows on the History Channel, Discovery channel and National Geographic channel. I liked Gold Rush, Alaska The last frontier, Yukon Men, Mountain Men, Ice Road Truckers and Deadliest Catch to name some and  then the networks had to begin adding 1 hour shows with the Miners and the Crab Fishermen and a couple of the other shows and it just takes away from the shows. I don't watch any of them 1 hour shows. I just wait for the shows to begin and watch the shows. They mess them up any more and I will quit watching them all together.....................jmho
  24. I use to make gun racks out of the feet back when I was young and hunted a lot. My brother was still doing it right up until he passed away a few years back. My son and grandsons and several of our friends kept him in deer hoofs plus he would visit several small processors in the area. He would make about 80 to 100 gun racks a year and would custom  build some for folks. He did also make a few knives back many years ago but that got to be to much work getting the good steel so he quit making them..................
  25. Well , lets see. I got a flu shot and I can still drink wine and flush my arteries and have much less chance of catching flu so I have a win win win and that is one more win than you.................
