  1. Thank you very much Mike for explaining that to me and yea I love the Make Him Own It also. But that beaing said I still have no use for that snickering sneering guy that was at the hearing with the young lady in Texas and he was at that one.............jmho
  2. Yep, without a doubt I like this guy a lot. I also noticed the sneers and chuckles by the Democrats listening to him. I wish  this man would run for the White House cause I think he has more sense that just on gun control. I loved it when he said the 2nd Amendment was for the American people to protect themselves from the politicians like himself. That young lady whose parents were killed in Luby's also made that same statement and guess what. The guy in this video that had the sneer and snicker about this speech was also at the one with the young lady who lost her parents and he smiled and sneered that time also...........I'm not sure who he is but He definitely needs to be gone from his position....................jmho
  3. Gosh your wanting to bet on a sure thing huh???????
  4. So far my son and Grandsons have bagged 9. My son called me the other night and told me my youngest grandson Logan age 9 bagged his first deerthat day An 8 point buck. Some of the meat is in my freezer. I was thrilled to hear also, he bagged it with of all guns my old Winchester model 94 I gave my son when he really began hunting deer seriously. He was about 18 at the time and it was one of the only 3 guns the thieves failed to steal in 1988. They were well hid in a false wall and didn't find it. Head is being mounted and pictures will be coming soon of mount. They are hunting on his land only and has quite a few deer on it. He has promised me one more before the end of season and I told him make it a young and tender one about 100lbs if possible.......................
  5. I have been wanting to ask a question on something that relates somewhat to this topic and I would like opinions on it please. I am going to use Sandy Hook in this scenario. Alan Lanza was declared as having mental issues and apparently there were doctors that had treated him for these issues. His mother also knew that he had mental issues and I am guessing she refuse to accept the fact her some was mentally unstable. Yet knowing he had issues she purchased several firearms and kept them in the home. Evidently she also took his to ranges where they practiced shooting the guns.   Also evidently the firearms were not locked up at home wish allowed him to gain access to them, thus upon getting them he proceeded to kill his mother before going to the Sandy Hook  school. Now with this said, what is the opinions in regards to a person knowing a family member living in a house with a mental of a few issues and firearms also being kept in the home? My thought is if they want to have fire arms in the home, as long as those firearms remain under lock and key or combination lock in a top line gun safe they should be allowed to have them. I do believe that the mother of Alan Lanza was in denial and therefore was careless. How does folks here feel about firearms in the home of a family member with mental issues.............Just curious and would like other views....................Curious Mind would like to know????
  6. Well, back when I was kid there were no such things as Convenience Stores in the town I lived in. Back when I was a kid folks new to make lists and get everything they needed before the Christmas holiday or did without. You could not even buy gasoline anywhere near where I lived which was 65 miles southwest of Chicago.
  7. Did anyone else hear on the radio this morning that a bunch of folks representing Sumner approved a Property Tax increase of 23% for 2015. My son-in-law called and woke me up this morning to tell me he just heard it on the radio because I live in Sumner County. He said it was some kind of closed back door deal and no one in the county knew anything about it. Just wondering if anyone else heard it?
  8. Back when I was a young boy very few to almost no businesses where open on Christmas. Then as more and more businesses began to get really greedy they would be open on Christmas eve till Midnight and then reopen on Christmas Day. I have made it a practice of not going to any store or business on Christmas Day or New Years Day for any reason. It is my way of not supporting companies that don't respect the "Reason for this Season" or their employees for forcing them to work.....................jmho
  9. A couple bucks on a some cans of spray paint on the doors would have taken care of this because he would not get any more on trade for a work truck with probably a gazillion miles on it. It had to be in pretty rough shape for the dealer to send in directly to auction to begin with. It was just stupid to not do something with the doors but not near as stupid as people calling the company threatening their lives. That goes beyond very stupid to totally ignorant!!!!!!.........................jmho
  10. I agree with you 1000%. As far as the boy regretting shooting the bad guy, I think by the death of his father by a robber bad guy he might feel more vindicated for his fathers death that bad about shooting the bad guy. At least hope it has not lasting bad feels by the boy. He was protecting his grandmother and himself.................jmho
  11. Prayers for your family Luke..............
  12. Probably not any more than I would. I would guess ISIS has people in this country buying trucks at auctions for cheap prices and putting them in cargo containers and shipping them where they want the to go. It did take quite sometime between when he traded it and when it appeared on Tweeter. They would have had time to ship it.............jmho It was kind of stupid not removing his company name off the truck before trading it.............jmho
  13. This is completely crazy. It was in Yahoo news just now............... :ugh: :ugh:       https://autos.yahoo.com/news/texas-plumber-ford-truck-ends-terrorists-133033518.html
  14. I have a close friend on TWRA and there were times I would see things going on while I would be fishing Old Hickory Lake and I had his cell phone number. When I called he never failed to show up and in most cases made an arrest of the bad guys. Drunk boating, reckless and dangerous boating, Duck hunting  from a moving boat and other such things. He got promoted and just rides around now in his truck or rides a desk so we still talk , just not as often.............
  15. In all Reality I didn't think the movie would ever make the opening. It was very controversial since the promo's were released. Since I am not that much into comedies it is no loss as far as my going to watch it but I still think it sucks that we continue to knuckled under to the threats of just about every foreign nation on Earth. I often wonder where the United States of American went that I grew up in.....................jmho
  16. I don't know if any of ya'll here have ever watched North Woods Law but it is a program on Animal Planet about the Game Wardens of the state of Maine. I was channel surfing one day and found it was just coming on and I watched it.   Now I do realize that is a reality type program per-say but I also know a few folks that live up in Maine and I called one of them and we talked about an hour and he also watches the show and has also met and had all positive dealings with several of the Wardens on the program.   He said about 95% of what you see on the program is in all reality exactly how the Warden Service performs in real life and operates every day. He said they are the actual police in the woods and also on highways and in towns. If they have someone driving recklessly on the highways they are authorized to stop and detain them, do sobriety tests and arrest them if they are impaired. The can legally search vehicles for anything from alcohol to drugs weapons and illegal game. If the TWRA was even 1/2 as active in doing their jobs as these men and women in Maine are they might deserve a raise.   I asked my friend who's name is Allen in Maine if the North Wood Law was any different before becoming a TV show and he said the truth is they were somewhat tougher before and there has been a few cases of stops and arrests that did have to be edited out during programing because they felt  they may not be suitable such as when they encountered a poacher of big game and he shot at them and they returned fire and killed the poacher. They also bust Mary Jane growers when they find fields during routine woods patrols.    For those interested in seeing how a good Game Warden Service it is worth the watch........jmho
  17. Believe me when I tell you the "TWRA DOES NOT" cater to bass tournaments. In fact they hate them and have made that clear many many times. I know because I have operated tournament trails in the past here in Tennessee and they hate it when someone like BASS or FLW comes to town. They don't take into consideration that about 250+ bass anglers will be buying out of state fishing licenses every time they come. About 4 million dollars will be earned by the host county like Hendersonville or Gallatin and Sumner County Tourism. This license increase may send them to other states and lakes to spend their money that appreciate them coming there.  I do agree 100% that it will punish young people fresh out of school and it will also punish Seniors that have to buy trout stamps and big game stamps if they hunt and trout fish but as I said they hate Bass Tournaments..........jmho
  18. Well, I have considered booting Comcast cable but I would go nuts. I have become addicted to the History channel, Discovery channel, Animal Planet, and a few others and the only way I can get those is by cable. I have been talking with Comcast and they said they had a cheaper plan than I was on that had all of these so I have them switch me to that package. My bill went from $72.00 to $100.98. I guess they thought I was to stupid to know what they had done. Well I went up to the local office and a clerk and I had a big discussion and he was nice enough to show me a package that actually had 95% of what I wanted but did have all the channels I really wanted and it was $45.95 + $9.95 for a second box for my bedroom TV.so after box and taxes my bill is $61.07. I am fine with that. If you don't stay on top of them they will surely screw you at every opportunity..................jmho
  19. Yes, I read the article and yes I saw where they said they didn't have any tranquilizers. My point is they knew they were going after a Cougar and should have had the darts and Tranquilizers in route the location at the same time. They could have sent for some and a dart gun while the cat was in the tree and should the cat make any attempts to try and escape then put it down. I just feel that the decision to put the cat down was made to quickly, possibly even before arriving without putting much if any effort forward to save and protect such a beautiful animal that is suppose to be instinct east of Ole man river (Mississippi). They said they were afraid it might escape but they didn't know that. I'm sorry if you disagree. Yes this is probably only my opinion but it is how I feel............jmho
  20. A  Scotsman and his wife walked past a swanky new restaurant.   "Did  you smell that food?" she asked. "It's smells   absolutely incredible!" Being  a 'kind-hearted  Scotsman', he thought,  "What the heck..., I'll treat  her!" So, they walked past it  again...
  21. I mentioned in a post the other day that I have noticed that more and more people have gotten back in the spirit  of THE REASON FOR THE SEASON and this is just another proof of it. "Bless this person who ever they are!!!!!!!!
  22. Remember where Osama Bin Laden was hiding all those years before they got him. We took him from a house 1/2 mile from a Pakistan Military base yet for years they said they were on our side and also were hunting for him. When they took him out of that country is when the money should have stopped flowing from America, period!!!!...............jmho
  23. I think that was total ignorance to kill such a beautiful creature but then Ky Game wardens  are a lot like TWRA and not the brightest light bulbs in the lamps. I guess they never considered darting the cat and taking it to a local zoo for containment until they could find a suitable place to ship the cat to......................jmho
  24. Ya'll need to remember that if any of you are nearing 65 even with the increase you can get a Senior License and never have to buy another unless your going after big game. Small game and fishing is for life. I am glad I got mine for $11.00 so won't have to buy another. Not all I need to do is make it through January and be fixed up  so I can feel more like fishing I have only been fishing twice since I got the license but have not felt like it either. Maybe January will  help that..................
  25.   That won't have no influence with the Pakistan Government. What needs to happen is America needs to quit sending them millions and millions of dollars every few months until they take steps necessary to make a stand against the terrorists. To them the money is far more important that the lives of 1000's of Children............jmho
