A few days ago I was thinking about all the negative things being said about police officers and I thought of a great thing I could do. I sat down and wrote both the Gallatin Police Department and Sumner County Sheriffs Departments and told them I wanted to thank them for their job of protecting and making Gallatin a nicer place to live and wished them a Merry Christmas and New years. I was not really expecting any replies but got these posted below along with the email I sent first: Subject:Thank you!! I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every Officer on the Gallatin Police Department for all they do to protect the people of Gallatin. I am aware that it is a very difficult time for all police officers and I do have the utmost respect for all of them. I hope each and every one of them and their families do have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year and once again THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!! Respectfully Douglas Richards Gallatin, Resident Submitted By: Name: Doug Richards Email: drichards.sr@gmail.com Douglas, Thank you for taking the time to send this email. On behalf of the men and women of the Gallatin Police Department, your support is very much appreciated. I am very proud of this department and the service it provides to the citizens of this community. Merry Christmas! Sincerely, Don Bandy, Chief of Police over5091@bellsouth.net <over5091@bellsouth.net> Dec 21 (5 days ago) to me Douglas Thanks for taking time to send an encouraging word to our police department. Chief Bandy tries hard to keep our community safe. He is a local guy that cares deeply for this community. It is citizens like you that makes it worth serving. Jimmy Overton Gallatin City Council

You can bet if I ever run up on a situation where a police officer is in need of back up that has not arrived yet and his life is in danger I will have his back for as long as possible...............jmho -
Elvis is NOT dead.....here he is better then ever
bersaguy replied to Ron_TN's topic in General Chat
The best impersonator I have ever seen was Roddy McDowell back years ago. Wife and I wet to see him perform in Nashville and if you closed your eyes you would think Elvis was on the stage. He was great. This young man is really good and as his voice matures just a little more he will really sound more like Elvis , I'm sure......................jmho -
It's O'Reilly's fault or Hannity's fault. You have to blame someone for their actions. Dish evidently does not like Fair & Honest reporting.............jmho

One day God was looking down at earth and saw all of the rascally retirees' behavior that was going on... So He called His angels and sent one to earth for a time. When the angel returned, he told God,'Yes, it is bad on earth; 95% of retirees are misbehaving and only 5% are not. God thought for a moment and said, 'Maybe I had better send down a second angel to get another opinion.' So God called another angel and sent her to earth for a time. When the angel returned, she went to God and said, 'Yes, it's true. The earth is in decline; 95% of retirees are misbehaving, but 5% are being good...' God was not pleased. So He decided to e-mail the 5% who were good, because he wanted to encourage them, and give them a little something to help them keep going. Do you know what the e-mail said? Okay, I was just wondering, because I didn't get one either.

2 NYPD officers shot, killed in ambush on cop car

Now with this I have said and will say more prayers for the families of the two fallen officers. As far as the bad guy He is already in hell. If I am not mistaken the Bible says that the only true sin for which you cannot be forgiven for is suicide. The bad guy did that so he is Hell Bound on elevator that only goes down................jmho -

I think it would be virtually impossible for the Mayor to fire every cop and replace them with new officers. For 1 reason. The Mayor has no back up plan like Reagan did. Reagan had a complete replacement for all the Air Traffic Controllers that refused to return to work. He had all the air traffic controllers from our military air bases prepared to move into the rolls until new controllers could be trained. The only thing the Mayor would have would be the National Guard and that would have to be approved by the Governor which I doubt would get approved..................jmho -

I got to spend an hour or so with superduty this morning and he is a really great guy. Talked several issues mostly about firearms. If you ever get to spend a little time with him make sure you do cause he is a very nice guy. I happen to know that for sure because Kasey also approved of him and I trust her judgement 100% because dogs know!!!!!!.....................

My view points very much reflect hers in many ways. I have known and still know many men and a few women to do truly suffer from PTSD and in all of them the most danger to any of them is hurting themselves or taking their own lives. In all honesty I think this is the first case I have ever hear of someone suffering from PTSD killing or hurting another person................jmho

None really, except my own views. I just know that people like Chris are and always have been the most hated of all American military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan just like in Vietnam. There are always a bounty placed on a snipers head. Especially a really good one. Now for another opinion, I often wonder if Chris kyles death was as it was told. Yea, he did help other fellow vets with PTSD but I am not sure this was one of those cases. It may have been a fit of jealously or maybe just wanted to be the man to kill Chris but guess we will never know.......................jmho

A friend of mine and I were talking one day and the topic came up about his home and his mortgage. He made the comment that he finally paid it off and the house was his debt free. I said to him no it's yours and the county tax commission's. he said NO!!! it's mine. I told him if he failed to pay his taxes for about three years it will become property of the county and state and if he didn't believe me just don't pay your taxes and you will find out. He went home and got on his computer and read it for himself. Next time I saw him he was pissed because he said I was right. He was not mad at me but mad at the systems of Government. I use to own a home. In fact I had purchased a couple new homes over the years. I then enlightened him on the fact that as his home went up in value, if he sold the house the profits he made above the sale price of the house would also be taxed. He said that he wished he had never bought a house now but continued to rent. I told him not to feel bad about owning his home. It is was always has been the American Dream to own your own little house with a white picket fence, a dog and 1or two children. He has got that dream so just be happy, pay your taxes and enjoy life as life is to short to worry about petty things..................jmho

I have used the rubber grips on mine and love the ones with the finger slots. It made a 50+% better feel of the factory grips. If you don't want the finger grips but still would like to bulk up the grips for a better feel, buy a bicycle inner tube and cut it to fit and it will also add better feel to the gun. I have done that on a couple of my other smaller semi autos such as my Phoenix 22's and it helps a lot with grip on them also. That's about all I can tell you. You may want to try these less costly ideas before going to high end wooden grips..........................jmho

My Son -in -law wants so much for me to go to the theater on opening day to see it. I told him I might go see it but not on the opening days of it. Most folks may think I am paranoid or other things but considering what this movie portrays I am sure that Chris made enemies for his actions. I remember the opening night of The Black Knight and even though the guy may have been a nut which I don't believe he is but knew everything he was doing because of all the planning he did first. With that said I don't want to be in any theater when someone from a family Chris effected decides to take out revenge for it on opening night when all theaters will be packed. May not be an active shooter because guns are not a terrorist favorite weapon. Explosives are. Yea, I know some folks are calling me paranoid but my son-in -law has consented to wait a week or so before going and if my health will permit it I will then go with him. Okay, now ya'll can add your opinions about my thoughts................................

In all honesty I have killed most of my biggest deer and most deer between the hours of 10:30 am and 2:30 PM than any other part of the day. I think reason being that many hunters take a lunch break during those time periods and the deer hear or see the hunters leave the areas and once the hunters are gone the bigger deer will then get up from beds and feed until they hear the hunters beginning to return and then bed back down. That is just my observation and opinion but it made may mean nothing............jmho
