I was a certified mechanic for over 35 years and I have never seen a transmission or engine that did not sweat or seep oil or fluids at some point. During the 100,000 miles, how many times did you have the transmission serviced. My son is a professional transmission builder and he was just here while I was reading this. He is the one that asked if it had ever been serviced. There are gaskets between the tranny pan and tranny. There are gaskets between the transmission and transfer case and transmission. There are front and rear seals with rubber or neoprene seals and any one of them parts can seep and sweat fluids eventually. My son said it probably is not something to really panic over but it is something that will require some attention pretty soon because it will not fix it'self. He also said you may want to contact your warranty company since it happened so close to the warranty running out that the issue may have been there prior to the warranty running out and they may still be responsible for it. A good mechanic can tell you how long it has actually been leaking and that information given to the warranty company may help you..............Good luck with it which ever way you have to go.................

Anyone else had the stomach flu for Christmas?
bersaguy replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I had other issues but not anything flu and cold related. I think a lot of people get sick at this time f the year because they are in and out of so many stores doing their shopping and come in contact with so many people that it is almost impossible to avoid. I did not do any shopping and did not spend much time with many folks. I guess I was lucky enough to avoid it. I hope all her that came down with any kind of crud is over it now.................  -
Quote "But people are not permanently attached to the one vehicle. I know I might be using any of four different vehicles on any day (I am not disabled but I think it's valid for illustrative purposes). I do see your point and the placards due have numbers on them and can be checked by officers to see who that particular plaque belongs to. If that person did not in the vehicle when it is parked in a handicap space the vehicle is illegally parked. I can accept the plaque being moved to another vehicle if the plaque the person is assigned to is in the new vehicle. It is the people that are just taking advantage of the plaque when the disabled or handicapped person is not riding in it that is annoying...............jmho

I had a written letter to inform the license plate issuing office telling them of the seriousness of my need and they issued me a license plate and all I do is put the new stickers on it each year. If they wanted to crack down on the abuse quit giving out a plaque to everyone that walks in and asks for one and make them get metal license plates. That way they cannot move it from one vehicle to another because that is illegal for sure and they won't be able to move a plaque from one vehicle to another for a quick trip to the store like many people are doing.....................jmho

I have always been interested in sniper rifles old and new and did a little research on a couple of the more famous ones that used to older sniper rifles and a little bit of history on them. Here is a little about what I found interesting. The real name of the person that was the real Private Ryan was Fritz Niland and the youngest of four brothers, three of which had died on Omaha Beach. Niland Brothers Veteran Harley Reynolds was one of the first men to make it off Omaha Beach on D-Day and gives us his powerful eyewitness testimony. Pete Niland tells why his family story is thought by many to be the inspiration for the film, and why his uncle is the real Private Ryan. We take to the seas in one of the last surviving landing boats, see the real effects of an exploding mortar shell on the human body and test whether a sniper really can shoot an enemy straight their scope as shown in the film. The sniper in the real life rescue was Pvt. Daniel Jackson and his rifle was an M1903A4 Springfield Rifle. he was actual left handed and he developed a special rhythm for using the right handed with a smooth accuracy. In the movie they show him shooting a sniper directly into the enemy snipers scope lenses. Didn't happen That was only done one time in recorded history by one sniper. In American history and that snipers name is and was Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam. http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Hathcock Just some interesting reading for those interested.......................jmho

If I am not mistaken every retail store or outlet is required by Federal law to have a set amount of HC spaces in front of or very near to entrances and have to have a handicap access to enter the place of business. http://www.smallbusiness.chron.com/laws-regarding-handicap-parking-businesses-381.html

Needs some Gorilla Glue on it. That stuff is the cats meow when you really need to glue something for ever....................

Good point!! Even if they are there on official business such as a call from the manager for maybe a shoplifter I don't see why they would not park in emergency lane in front of store rather than take up a HC parking space.................jmho

Ok, Most folks here know about my conditions from back when I got smashed by that truck. Since then I have been able to function almost normally until 1990 when they implanted that mesh inside me and even then I was still able to walk relatively pain free. It has only been in the past 8 or so years that walking and standng has become more and more an issue. I have gone to doctors in the sports medicine programs and they have all said the same thing. They said over time as I aged the 4 vertebra's that are fused together in my back from that truck are what is causing the pain in my pelvic area. I can walk about 25 feet before the pain and burning begins in my pelvic area and gets worst with each step. The strange thing I did notice after I began paying attention to times I could walk really well with no pain was a very simple thing. If I was hurting by the time I entered a store and was able to get my hands on a cart with in a few minutes the pain was gone and I could walk around that store for an hour or more pain free. That was when I began testing new ideas. I began not using the handicap spaces but would park as close as possible to one of the cart slots. I would get out of my jeep and and grab an empty cart and push it to the store with no pain and shop with no pain. On rainy days I would use an umbrella of rain coat and still used the cart. Once I discovered this I seldom if every use a HC space. I figure there are many real handicap people these days with all of our vets coming home wounded that need them. My situation may change in the future but for now it's me and a cart. I did ask the doctor about this and he told me that it was the positioning of my arms on the cart that most likely took just enough pressure off my back to make it work. I was out just before Christmas with my daughter and we stopped at Krogers and guess who I saw. He was not on his motorcycle but in a unmarked and yep, he was handing out Christmas presents to unsuspecting illegal parking in HC folks. He spend about 4 hours at Kroger and then goes up to Walmart and begins again. Gotta love a dedicated Police Officer...................

I know exactly were your coming about dolo. I am legally handicapped and they offered me a placard and I requested a permanent license for my Jeep Cherokee and handed the the doctors letter and got my license plate. With that said I have the same issue as you do when it comes to parking at Krogers 99 times out of 100, all the HC spaces are full. One day when my legs were no bothering me to much I actually walked through every space and looked to see if the vehicle had an HC plaque or an HC license plate on the vehicle of the 30 HC places Kroger has to vehicles has plates and all the rest had plaques hanging from mirror or just laying on the dash. I have several friends that have the plaques because they will carry their elderly parent or handicap member of family with them. I found one parked in a handicap space and watched as she approached her vehicle and she was by herself. The handicap person in her family was not with her. I asked her why she parked in that space when her mother was not with her? She began babbling some excuses and got in her car and left. Her husband called me that evening about my concern and I told him. Needless to say it was not a close friendship and it is no friendship now. It ended with him telling me to mind my own business. I thought I was considering I am legally handicapped and his wife is not. I waited till I got my chance and I saw him park in a handicapped space in his truck and put a plaque on his mirror and made my move. I called Gallatin P.D. and they sent out a motorcycle officer to see me. I told him why I called him and he said I understand your concern and we will see if he is legal. About 15 minutes later I was out of sight when he came out. The officer approached him and ask him for his ID DL. He then ask him if he was handicapped and he said no, but his mother in law is. The officer ask him if she was still in the store and he said no, she was not with him. The fine signs in Kroger Parking lots are $250.00. I sat and watched him sign his big fat ticket. I know he was looking to see if I was watching. I was not in my Jeep but I was there. I then went in along with the officer to speak with the kroger Manager as the officer told the manager that they had been receiving a few complaints so for the next few days he would be patrolling their lot and probably writing some tickets and the Manager thanked him because he knew there was issues and he wanted to do something about it. The use of the plaques by relatives that are not handicapped with out that person in the vehicle is an automatic ticket if caught. I got a chance to speak with that officer about a month later and he said he wrote 67 tickets in 5 days for the same violations and was making plans for another 5 days soon. I am not having as much trouble locating a handicap parking place there any more. Yea, I'm the guy your friends warned you about...............................

It just gives the Anti-Gun people more ammunition to use about the rationality of some gun owners and how ignorant they can be...........jmho

I had a couple buddies go see it here in Nashville and their rating of the movie on a scale of 1-10 they gave it a 2. They said maybe if the Koreans had seen the movie before throwing the fit they probably would not have bothered having an issue with it....... :ugh: :ugh:

I don't think Buds has as many problems as the guy throwing the fit in the Video. If I were Buds and he called me up raising that kind of hell I would be more than glad to offer him a full refund of all he spent and once Buds received the gun back I would send him the full refund and then refuse to sell him another. It sounds like the guy does not really need to have a gun in his possession with a temper and fit throwing like that.............jmho

My grade. Not bad for and old fart like me I guess!!!! You got 13 out of 15: You're a grammar genius! You've definitely got our respect! 13 out of 15 is a really, really impressive score. Your grammar skills are so good, you're probably the person that picks your friends up on their mistakes, right? We'll happily admit that this test was pretty hard and we're pretty sure that your friends can't do better – why not test them and find out?

Believe me NE, the last thing the black communities want to hear is statistics showing how many blacks kill other blacks. When the proof is in the pudding and statistics are published it only proves that many black people are the more racist because they will kill their own and very little to nothing is addressed to fix it but let one white man or officer shoot a black person and all HELL breaks loose!!! So in all reality who is the most racist? How many times have you see Al the REV Sharpton or the REV Jesse Jackson or many other so called black leaders protesting a Black on Black Killing? Like I said before. THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING and the pudding is the black community leaders. Lets take a look at Chicago just a second since Chicago has the largest Black on Black murders of any big city. Our President was a Community Organizer in Chicago and went from there to the U.S. Senate and from there to the White House in 2.7 years. If he is trying to organize our great nation in the same way he did in Chicago it is no wonder our country is in shambles. One long look at Chicago and it is evident he failed both the communities of Chicago and his rating in the White House are not any better........................jmvho!!!

Well I agree with you 1000% but is it the fault of the young people or the fault of their teachers and parents for allowing this type of talk in their educations both in school and at home?

To the best of my knowledge the next Carrier to come out is the USS Ford to be completed in 2016 and will have 4000 person crew which is about 800 less them most other carriers because of new higher technology being implemented.

I spent time on the Ranger 3 different times while serving in Nam. It is and was a great ship. Sorry to see it go. As to the steel and expenses. Since I don't really trust anyone that can purchase one of our Naval vessels and only pay a penny for it, Makes me wonder if China is not providing the funds necessary to do the tow and already bought the steel................jmho Thank you very much for your service buck......... :usa:
