    Helmet Law

PDF and seat belt are not the same in Tennessee. In Tennessee if you don't click it you get a ticket. With PFD's Your only required to have one in the boat for each person but they are not required to wear them. Thing about that PFD law is except on Holidays there is no TWRA boats out on most lakes to enforce it to begin with...........jmho
  5. Really great moonshine if your not expecting it. This one goes back to my high school years in a small town in Illinois. All through High School we has this one SOB that thought he was blessed with the gift to being able to drink more than any one else at any party. His specialty was double or triple shots of whiskey and would wash it with water. Well, me and a few buddies took a road trip down here to Tennessee back when my Grandfather was still making really great shine and it was Gin Clear. I asked him if he had any Corn liquor which was mostly shine ran through charcoal to darken it up a little. I got a large fruit jar of the Corn and a gallon of his shine and headed back north. At a party the following weekend down on the river bank with a bon fire blazing and music blasting this SOB was just tipsy enough for me to shut him up. I called him out and told him I had something he could not do a triple on and he said bring it on.   Well, We poured him a triple shot of corn in a glass and I had poured a glass of moonshine about 10 ounces or little more and I told him I had his water ready. He dumped that Corn in his mouth and his eyes got real big and he reached for the water and he chugged about 3/4 of the moonshine before he realized what it was and as he began to lower the glass slowly. 2 guys got behind him as he began to lean over backwards and caught him and eased him to the ground. We kept checking on him to make sure he was still breathing. About the time the party was winding up he began to show signs of life. One of the guys asked him if he wanted another drink and he rolled over and began to cover the ground with some really ugly stuff. He never attended another one of our parties and he actually accused us of trying to poison him. We told him that what he drank is drank by thousands of folks all over the country everyday. Difference was it's a mans drink and not a boys drink................

    Monday

Well I have always said it is better to BURP it and taste it than FART it and waste it........................  Sorry about the job. Make sure you file for unemployment....................
  7. I don't really think before he offered to let my buddy shoot them that my buddy was packing a weapon capable of destroying concrete block walls and engine blocks................
  8. That is a pretty cool machine for sure and could be fun, but I bet that machine may not stand up to my buddy's 7.62x25 Tokarev......
  9. I have a friend that does maintenance on one of the local indoor ranges and that gets his free range time and a little pocket change. He came for coffee one day and was complaining about a new class instructor that had been allow to begin holding Tactical Defense classes at the range and each day after the guy held a class my buddy would go in the next day and the guy had not done any cleanup up after the class and the range floor had trash everywhere and still had all the target dummies and two large plywood boards left in the middle of the range floor.   My Buddy went up and got the owner of the range which is connected to a gun shop and showed him how the guy left the range. The owner said he would talk to the guy. Well the Tact Teacher did clear his stuff and store it along one wall after the first couple classes but didn't sweep anything. You know what they say about pay backs.........lol.   The guy had showed up the other day with 5 new target dummies he used in his classes and was bragging to my buddy about how much they cost. He made the mistake of asking my buddy if he would like to take a few shots at them. My buddy declined. The guy would not take no for an answer and said go ahead and shoot a few rounds. Finally my buddy said ok and pulled out his Tokarov and shot the heads off three of the dummies at about 35 yards.   The guy got really pissed because he destroyed 3 new pieces of Tactical Training Class equipment. As my buddy was walking away he turned and told the guy to make sure he cleaned up his mess. The guy went up to the owner of the Gun shop and told the owner what happened. The owner took my buddy's side and said you offer him to shoot them so I don't see the issue. The tactical guy packed up and found another range to hold classes. My buddy is now a happy camper once again..........
  10. I have a buddy that sets up 2 tables at one of the local shows once a year and he collects things from friends all year for the show. He normally has a very variety to offer and in most case will almost sell out every year. He does not make a lot but will normally make 250. to 300.00 profit so makes it worth the trip. He will take a family member or close friend along each time...............
  11. I will never forget that day. I had a few friends in the towers that day that did not come home. My wall paper on my computer is a picture of the twin towers about 1 minute after the 2nd plane hit the tower so I am reminded of it every day when I turn on my computer. I had a friend of mine send me this picture and I thought I would post it here. O got it in the following winter. 12. Your 1995 K1500 should still have one of the good radiators and back for many years as a mechanic I used United Radiator Service to have all of my customers radiators repaired. They have done great work for many years and saved folks a ton of money by fixing rather than selling them a new one. They are located at 118 15th Avenue in Nashville about 2 blocks  off interstate at Broadway. Great bunch of folks................just my  :2cents:
  13. I wish I could learn where I could find some of that gel they use for these tests so I could run a few of my own tests.............jmho
  14. Now thats funny right there......................
  15. I have always considered a few issues when thinking about needing to use any of my 380's to either stop a situation that may be happening to my self or someone else. I don't know how many people here have ever been in a situation where they are on the wrong end of a muzzle of a hand gun but I have a couple times. Believe me I didn't give any thought to what caliber gun I had aimed at me. A 25 Caliber looks like a 45 caliber and your hoping and praying that the guy does not start popping caps is the only thing on your mind. I have given thought to possibly owning a 9MM or a 40 Caliber and over the past couple years I have owned both and shot both. I also got rid of both. I don't want a gun that might have a problem as mentioned in a post above. I don't want a bullet I fire having a potential of passing through my target and injuring an innocent person. I think the 380 Caliber has to ability to stop any assailant I might encounter without the threat of a through & through. That is my  :2cents: and feeling on the issue........
  16. I got burned out on hot chicken bad about 1995 and have not tried any since. A bunch of us got together and went to watch the races and Nashville Speedway cause afew of my friends where still driving back then. After the races the drivers dragged to whole bunch of us to a place on Murfreesboro Road near the old Alladin plant to what was once a Shoneys. They ordered up to huge platters of hot Wings. My eyes were already watering soon after we went in the place. I asked for a large Ice water because I am not much on beer. The platters were put on the table and folks began grabbing them and just sucking them down with cold beer. I picked one up and bit off just enough to realize I had made a grave mistake. I asked for a few slices of Light Bread and more Ice Water. Within about 15 minutes I was able to feel my mouth again and with my tongue I could feel a few small blisters forming in my mouth. Needless to say the platters were mostly empty before we left but not because I helped and I stopped my wife just before her first bite cause she was not a really spicy food liker to begin with. I nursed a mouth full of blisters the following day and that was the end of my hot chicken for ever.......I learn by my mistakes...................... :puke: :puke:
  17. A buddy of mine dragged me to the range this morning. He said I need to get back in the saddle again. I took my Mod.85 Bersa which I have never shot, my Llama and my Bersa Thunder. All 380 Calibers. I sent target down 10 yards. My buddy ask me if I didn't want to begin with maybe 5 yards. I told him if I could hit at 10 yards I don't need to be shooting. I did have first few rounds go astray with the mod.85 with first time shooting but got things back in line pretty quick. Now also considering I need new glasses was also a little issue but here is the results of my morning. 18. Of Course they would use a Pin Head California University to do the tests because they would have been laughed out of any other University in any other state. I wonder if they will end up outlawing tail gate parties at all the college in California. I know they dang sure don't want to mess with them folks up on Rocky Top and their tail gate parties...................
  19. I don't own a Glock and don't plan to but I do love my Bersa's and Llama's 380s and they are my main and only carry guns. I have Fiocchi Ball Ammo loaded in all of them with great confidence if I ever needed to use them they would do what I need in the protection areas............jmho
  20. It's a shame that the young man might be paralyzed for life. When I graduated from cap pistols to my first Daisey BB gun my Father also taught me that a BB gun is a real gun and it can hurt and kill for real and my lessons on how to handle a real gun began and to this day are burned into my mind and if I still owned a BB gun it would be treated with the same respect as a Barrett 50 Cal and everything in between. I taught my sons the same way I was taught but they learned by first shooting my guns before getting guns of their own. Shotguns were their own first firearms. My son taught his two sons in the same manner I taught him............ :2cents:
  21. Your best opportunity to sue is on election day.  That is when the elected officials are most vulnerable and we don't need lawyers.........jmho
  22. Like I said in my first post here. If we can sit here and post and read things that make us upset, it only takes a few minutes to write a short but sweet email to your local guy or gal representing you and making your feelings know and make sure come next election you will remember how they voted on things that you wrote them about. I wish I was smart enough to put a petition together here and begin gathering signatures and when we have enough to turn some heads in the Wagon Circle send it to them and see if we can't open a hole in the circle of wagons. If we never try we will never know.............jmho
  23. You not cheap my friend. I would just consider your very very CONSERVATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Go for it Buddy!!!!!     Old yea!!!!!!Happy Birthday Buddy!!!
  25. I can remember my High School Senior  graduation like it was yesterday. When the Class began looking for that special slogan to attribute to what we had accomplished everyone racked their brains trying to come up with that special one. Folks were throwing out all kinds of things and I just sat and listened. I mean my graduating class had 29 seniors in it. Small town, small school and I was an outsider since I joined that class in the last year of my education in mid term.  Finally the Home room teacher got everyone calmed down from the roar. She looked at me and said you have not said anything since we began discussion this. She then ask me if I had any thoughts about it. I sat there with 28 other students staring at me and I said, " each day I wake up my faith in that day makes my tomorrow beautiful." Everyone sat there staring at me like I sprouted 2 heads all at once. The Teacher went to the chalk board and wrote,  Our Faith in today makes our Tomorrows Beautiful. She asked anyone else if they had another one  to add as she was going to make a list. For a week there was nothing else added so our slogan was "Our Faith in Today Makes Our Tomorrows Beautiful." That is how I felt back then and most days when I wake up I still feel that same way 50 years later................jmho
