My children will be relieved when they read this. The Explanation Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe. Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full, so, too, do humans take longer to access information when their brains are full. Researchers say this slowing down process is not the same as cognitive decline. The human brain works slower in old age, said Dr. Michael Ramscar, but only because we have stored more information over time. The brains of older people do not get weak. On the contrary, they simply know more. Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for. It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature's way of making older people do more exercise. SO THERE!! I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names. So, please forward this to your friends; they may be my friends, too.

In part of the post made by wileecoyote, he said "Many of the current BATFE / GCA laws and restrictions did not exist prior to 1968, and yet the world was not a criminal hell on earth, and there was not a blood bath in the streets on a daily basis, and crime was not significantly impacted either way before or since." I have a little different view on this issue. I think since the new laws have been put into effect crime in big cities has definitely increased over the years. Back before the laws went into effect firearms were more readily available to most everyone and those laws changed that. By doing so it created a different atmosphere causing many people to become unsure about how much longer the right to purchase guns would remain. That in turn started people purchasing firearms more readily before the laws got so that many of them would not be able to buy them. I would not call it panic buying but close. Many of those guns bought back years ago are showing up now in crimes in big cities. Yes there is a straw buyer problem to some extent but I think many of the guns like being used in Chicago came from purchases made before back ground checks went into full operation. I bought my first hand gun at age 12 from a licensed FFL gun store in my home town in Illinois and it was not an illegal purchase. It was a Colt Single action 6 22 lr.....................................jmho

I agree with a lot of this very much including the Horizontal Shoulder Holsters. I have been looking for a good vertical drop in shoulder holster for several years and all I have found so far is junk. I don't want cloth or I would already have one. I have been putting a few dimes and nickles back because I have located a man here locally that works with leather and he has agreed to make me what I want when I get the funds saved back. I would not feel right knowing my muzzle was pointing at anyone standing behind me. Either way I will continue to carry concealed as I always wear a cover shirt large enough I don't print. .............jmho

I guess Tim was listening to Daddy Joe Biden when he chose the name for his summer tour. It is called the Summer Shotgun Tour. Just saw that advertised on TV!!!!! Thought he didn't like guns.......... :stunned: :stunned:

I just think that open carry is another word for open target, "shoot me first" in a robbery or just an open invite to have someone try and take the gun such as in this report. Had the bad guy landed a good head shot with the bat he would have possibly killed the guy and got his gun at the same time....................jmho

Well in all reality a bad guy with a gun acting irradically in public is not the guy you try to bump on the shoulder or leg with the front of your patrol car. Besides that how can you hit them in the shoulder with the bumper unless you do it just like this LEO did? It looked to me like he hit his shoulder and his leg very well................

Sorry, Didn't see previous post................. :ugh: :ugh:

It was in effect long before the late 70's. I was required to sign up shortly after my graduation in 1966 and I got my draft notice That my friends and neighbors have selected me to serve in our nations Army and gave me the name of the closest recruiters location. I put the letter in my pocket and drove the a Naval recruiters office and signed up for 4 years in the Navy. After we shook hands I pulled out the letter and asked if he could do anything about it and he said he would take care of it.

A lot of ya'll know I make fishing baits for purchase by anglers and I have quite a few folks out of state that order some. I had an angler that has been buying from me for years call me yesterday and we talked for quite some time and I don't know how we got on the conversation of guns but he said his wife is in that Bloomberg outfit and he said that he has given her a deadline in which to drop out of it. He said he is tired of all that crap. He said his wife is really just a follower and he knows many of the husbands of those lady's. He said 90% + of all the husbands own 1 or more firearms. It is just like Gabby Gifford's group. They fight against Americans legally owning guns yet Gabby and her Husband both own and shoot guns regularly at ranges. Even Gabby is back shooting. Now I don't know about ya'll "BUT" I would that being the POT calling the KETTLE Black!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................JMHO

I agree with you 100% on these issues. I really don't see that many of our actual military following those type of orders. Would you follow an order to enter your best friend house and take his weapons or into your grand fathers home and taking his weapons? I don't think so. I also agree with you on the Military would be spread so thin it would not be possible to carry out those type of orders. Again I agree that the big cities would demand most of our Military. I have said that if the Military was sent into Los Angeles to remove all the weapons from the honest people and gangs it would be like entering Iraq or Afghanistan and blood would fill the city sewers in that one city alone. I read the other day that the two police officers that shot and killed that man in New Orleans after Katrina to take his guns and he refused. They shot and killed him and then burned his body. The have been brought up on charges of murder. I think if there was any attempt to create a Martial Law over this entire country it would fail miserably. Hell, Japan was smart enough on the December 7th 1941 not to attack Americas Homeland because the Japanese Admiral said they would be defeated because behind every blade of grass is an American with a gun. That was in 1941. I am guessing behind every blade of grass most Americans have a minimum of 5 guns and a well supplied ammo stash to go with them..................jmho

I think in that case the Feds did underestimate just how much opposition they would encounter so quickly and be out gunned so quickly either. The oath Keepers Stepped up to the plate really fast. That was why the Feds backed down. It would have been a Ruby Ridge or Waco in Reverse. They did the smart thing and packed up and left. They used the old adage of run away this time and live to fight another day. They won't make that mistake twice!!!! Next time they will have Troops with them to give them armed support. Now depending on what the situation is they better hope that their troops they bring with them better agree with their plans also. Other wise they may not have the support they think they have. My grandson has told me of many men he served with that have zero respect for politicians and many of their programs. Many of them have talked about not following orders that would mean moving against American people on American soil. I am glad he is out of the Service and I was able to talk him out of re-enlisting after his two tours in Afghanistan ..........................jmho

Right to Bear Arms? Gun grabbing sweeping the nation

New york has been begging for new businesses to come there and open up new manufacturing. I laughed the other night at the commercial when I heard they had even lowered the employee state income tax. That is one of the main reasons they can't get any companies to come there is the States employee income tax. Just about every state that has one is now suffering because companies will not go and open up a new shop in a state that has one. California is going to be that way real soon and well deserving of it...............jmho -
If I were attending the NRA Convention I would be parking at LP Field and taking shuttle. The Metro police will be the security at LP Field and will have roving patrols all during the period of time cars are in the lot. I have two metro buddies that caught the overtime and are assigned as security.............jmho..................

I have heard and read a lot of ideas all the way back to the Transmission when it comes to ideas. No one has mentioned that if you go with any V-8 that 6 cylinder rear end will never stand up under it and you will be gear so low for the V-8 you will either destroy the rear gear or blow the v-8 for to many RPMS. If you stay with the 6 cylinder you will be far better off............jmho

Well, evidently the man was shot because they had a warrant on him for back Child Support and didn't want to go back to jail. There is a lot more information in link below. Not a felon at all. http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/08/us/south-carolina-cop-shoots-black-man-timeline/

I don't have any issues at all with a Police Officer shooting at a fleeing dangerous felon which may be what will come out on this case. But unless a police officer sees a felon committing the crime and the felon flees or there is a bulletin out for this dangerous felon there is no way a police officer can remember the names and faces of every dangerous felon in their area. so when do you shoot and when do you hold your fire. that is a very fine line our police officers walk every day............jmho

Oh, I have no doubt there is a very deep investigation into this case. There may be a lot more to come out before it's over. My main question is why would a man run from a police officer for a regular traffic violation unless that person had a lot more to hide than a tail light being out. I mean it might be evident that the office may have been profiling because pulling a person over for a tail light out is not a violation 95% of police officers would take the time to do a traffic stop. I hope it all is exposed and we all hear the true reason for this shooting................jmho

something happened in Seymour this morning.
bersaguy replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
That sounds like an inside job. Who all would know that the person would be having that kind of cash while walking into open the business. In any normal Check cashing or loan store I know of makes night deposits and leave enough cash in a safe in the store to open next day. I have a friend that owns about 25 of those type stores and it opening 3 more next month and that is the way they operate but they make their deposits by Loomis Armored car during the day.....................  -
I'm sure there may be some protests but they will be fairly calm as long as Al and Jesse don't show up and :stir: They have charged the officer for murder 1 by the Mayor of the city which I feel was the right decision unless something else changes...................jmho

Well, I don't use Comcast for my internet. I get that through my Cell Phone Company but I did get a shock yesterday when I went in to pay my Comcast Bill yesterday. I was paying $62.83 after taxes and two boxes a month for a package with limited channels. Digital Economy Package with 24 channels plus basic package of local stuff so I ask. I asked the young lady how much it would cost to switch to the Digital Starter Package and she did some computer stuff and came back with a Price of $64.95+ taxes and that price included 2 boxes and now I get 138 channels. I requested that she put that in writing on my receipt and she did and signed her name to it. I wanted to make sure I had something to fall back on in case Comcast felt differently and sent me some kind of crazy bill next month.

Well, I don't know what part of the Video you saw the Black man pull a taser out and attempt to use it on the officer. The officer said the man tried to take his away from him and that was what was on the ground. What was the reason for the officer to shoot the man in the back several times s still unclear. Why did the officer pick up his taser or what ever that was laying in front of him and carry it over and throw it beside the dead man? Lets face reality folks. If anyone of us with legal handgun carry permits gets into a confrontation with another armed criminal and the criminal makes a break and chooses to run away, the immediate to you is over. If we shoot anyone in the back we will be charged with murder and we will go to prison. This officer in this case has no more legal authority to shoot this man in the back than anyone with an HCP does on this site or anywhere else. I agree with Hozzie and he should be charged with Murder1......................JMO
