I need honest opinion related to HCP Class
bersaguy replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in Women's Perspectives
Congrads and glad your didn't eat yourself up before you even took the class. Glad you did well. Welcome to the life of a safer person............. -
I'm just curious, unless you think you might have to shoot someone wearing Body Armour what is the reason for carrying a gun loaded with All Brass or Copper loads. I would be afraid the round would pass through doing little damage and possibly strike an innocent person. I would much rather have my carry gun loaded with a ball ammo in FMJ but will do more damage and most likely not do a through and through endangering others behind your target................jmho

Need car brake rotors turned/lathed in Williamson County
bersaguy replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I use O'Reilly's to get mine turned. Since i have not worked on any of the newer trucks, do you have hubs made onto your rotors or are they Hub-less? If they are hub-less I would look at new verses having old ones turned. If they have made in hubs I would have them turned, pack bearings and put in new grease seals ................... -
Well I got very specific while talking with my agent about my renters insurance policy before I purchased it. She said instead of itemizing certain items in your home do a bundle and see what kind of limit you would like to have on total over all contents. Then buy the policy based on that figure. If I have a total loss I have everything insured for $35,000.00 w/ $500.00 deductible. If I have a theft and only certain items are taken valued at less then $10,000.00 my deductible is $250.00. It is all in a bundle with my Skeeter Boat, Jeep and renters policies. Since being with this agent I have had 1 claim. I damaged my Skeeter Boat on Percy Priest by hitting a very large pile of rocks that someone had put in some water I had run through for years and never hit it. People do build piles when they draw down the lake in Winter and then go back and fish them when they raise the lake. Damage to my fiberglass was about $5,500.00. This happened on a Monday night, I called my agent on Tuesday. Got two estimates on Tuesday morning. On Tuesday afternoon with pictures on her computer along with a quote from Fast Glass Boat repair it was approved for repair and i got my boat back on following Monday. Cannot complain at all with their service or State Farms no haggle claim handling. Fast and efficient service.......................... Oh yea, the following year my boat policy actually came down $14.00 from previous year.....

I hope they find your brothers guns in their house but I think in many cases they have buyers lined up to flip them as soon as they get them. even if they are in their home they are still evidence and it will be a time consuming job getting them back cause you will have to wait until after court trial and then go through the red tape but in the long run, if he gets them back that will be a win for the good guys.........

My State Farm agent told me to take pictures and keep serial numbers and all of my firearms are covered under my renters policy with no top end replacement limits. So I keep all the pictures and serial numbers in my fire proof/water proof safe. ............. Wish I would have had a gun safe back in 1988. My Home Owners in 1988 did pay me for all the guns that were stolen after 90 day waiting period but in all honesty I would have much rather got my guns back because many of them were irreplaceable. Either family pass downs or belonged to my dead son.................. :(
-
Same thing happened to me back in 1988 and I gave the Sheriffs deputy a list of every type of gun and Serial Numbers and to this day not one has surfaced any place. I check with Cheatham County Sheriffs office once a month and my grandson is a deputy there and he also checks on them often.

Reloader question. Cheap source for lead.
bersaguy replied to TN Volunteer's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Most tire weights today are not made of lead but another metal and aluminum product with only about 15% lead in them. I had a buddy get some and he couldn't do anything with them but throw them out. -
Thanks for that Dolo. I think if anyone has been in war and serve in battle they had that one best friend they lost. I know what your talking about. I lost one of my team 3 years ago, but not in battle but from heart attack. It still hurts because my team have all kept in touch since we came state side in 74. Memorial Day does make his passing a remembrance also. Sorry about your loss and about how it effected you with your already tough situation. Glad it has at least gotten easier for you in the years gone by...........

The only thing I will ever use Comcast for it cable TV. I won't ever use anything else they offer period. I delete all their emails without opening them and pay the Cable bill in person and if it is anything from them but a bill in snail mail it does not get opened either. Junk mail file 13 for it.

Has a small issue yesterday in Cookville!
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Maybe so but in all honesty I don't believe these kids really wanted to police involved or attracted to them at all. You could tell on the faces of most of them that they didn't even want to be there. You could tell they wanted to run by the expressions on most of them faces. I'm sorry about your friends trouble. It sounds like the police didn't handle it correctly of something happened when the officers went to his home to confront him which resulted in his arrest.................  -
Has a small issue yesterday in Cookville!
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Ok teecro, would it have been any different had I be on open carry that day? My gun would have been shown and known then also! I could have proved the kids as liars if they called to report an over heated dog in a vehicle. Most folks keep forgetting I did have a friend with me in the Jeep with Kasey watching everything going on and listening to everything said. I also had ice water in her water bowl and dog biscuits for her to snack on. I could have turned the tide on them by saying the reason she was overheated was because they were aggravating her. There are many if's and could haves and many different scenarios that could have been but none were. In my heart I did what I thought was the right thing and it turned out to be the right thing and everyone lived to go home.....................jmho -
You have many times and I thank you for it. I watched the NASCAR race yesterday and I am so thrilled to see how NASCAR has stepped up to the plate to help our troops and show their total support for them.

I try to remember to post this on every Memorial Day, Veterans Day and 4th of July in all the sites I am a member of. Folks have no idea how thrilled I am to see the American people stand up and stand behind our troops with Spirit and Pride. I remember when I cam home and it was another time and era. We were told by our CO's that we may want to change into civilian clothes and not wear our uniforms while flying home on a commercial flight because it might get ugly when you get off the plane. I asked him, "with all due respect Sir, can it be any uglier then the Hell we just left to come home. I wore my dress Blues Home with pride and yea I had to have them dry cleaned after the walk through the airport to my family that came to pick me up. I told them to meet me out front because I didn't want them to see what might and did happen. Now folks know why I am so proud of how our troops are loved and honored today but then I think back. It comes to mind that the mood may have changed because we are the guys who came home back then may have chosen to raise our children better and to be more respectful of out men and women in Uniform.................... :usa:

If you don't move them far enough they may come back home. Some of them roam long distances while searching for food. We had them all over the Farm while I was growing up and like OS said. They are very tasting but point is taken that this time of year it make be a mother or soon to be mother. We always shot them in Fall........Good luck with your endeavor what ever route you choose to follow............

Like TNWNGR mentioned above. You might even ask your son to help and make it a father/son venture while fixing it..............

"So you woke up stupid this morning?"
bersaguy replied to Clod Stomper's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I missed him grounding the gun. I thought he put it back in his holster................... :ugh: :ugh: Got to get new glasses real soon.......... Ok, went back and watched another video of it and saw him lay his gun on the ground. Pretty cool of the LEO to shake his hand..................  -
Looks like it may be from a Bambi that a predator may have gotten hold of.................

A buddy and I make jigs and soft baits for a lot of the local anglers that fish Old Hickory Lake and the last two weeks have been tough on all the bass anglers. A few guys have picked up some Flipping Jigs with craws as trailers on wood on the main channel from Bledsoe Creek up river to the 231 bridge. A few folks have been catching fish on Shakey Heads with some of my Red Shad Bungee worms around outer weed edges from mouth of Sandy's Chapel down to the mouth of Bell Island. They are also taking a few on Buzz baits out on the river flats from Bull Creek up river early. Hope this helps and you have a great Memorial Day Weekend................. :usa: :usa:
