Has a small issue yesterday in Cookville!
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Ok teecro, would it have been any different had I be on open carry that day? My gun would have been shown and known then also! I could have proved the kids as liars if they called to report an over heated dog in a vehicle. Most folks keep forgetting I did have a friend with me in the Jeep with Kasey watching everything going on and listening to everything said. I also had ice water in her water bowl and dog biscuits for her to snack on. I could have turned the tide on them by saying the reason she was overheated was because they were aggravating her. There are many if's and could haves and many different scenarios that could have been but none were. In my heart I did what I thought was the right thing and it turned out to be the right thing and everyone lived to go home.....................jmho -
You have many times and I thank you for it. I watched the NASCAR race yesterday and I am so thrilled to see how NASCAR has stepped up to the plate to help our troops and show their total support for them.

I try to remember to post this on every Memorial Day, Veterans Day and 4th of July in all the sites I am a member of. Folks have no idea how thrilled I am to see the American people stand up and stand behind our troops with Spirit and Pride. I remember when I cam home and it was another time and era. We were told by our CO's that we may want to change into civilian clothes and not wear our uniforms while flying home on a commercial flight because it might get ugly when you get off the plane. I asked him, "with all due respect Sir, can it be any uglier then the Hell we just left to come home. I wore my dress Blues Home with pride and yea I had to have them dry cleaned after the walk through the airport to my family that came to pick me up. I told them to meet me out front because I didn't want them to see what might and did happen. Now folks know why I am so proud of how our troops are loved and honored today but then I think back. It comes to mind that the mood may have changed because we are the guys who came home back then may have chosen to raise our children better and to be more respectful of out men and women in Uniform.................... :usa:

If you don't move them far enough they may come back home. Some of them roam long distances while searching for food. We had them all over the Farm while I was growing up and like OS said. They are very tasting but point is taken that this time of year it make be a mother or soon to be mother. We always shot them in Fall........Good luck with your endeavor what ever route you choose to follow............

Like TNWNGR mentioned above. You might even ask your son to help and make it a father/son venture while fixing it..............

I missed him grounding the gun. I thought he put it back in his holster................... :ugh: :ugh: Got to get new glasses real soon.......... Ok, went back and watched another video of it and saw him lay his gun on the ground. Pretty cool of the LEO to shake his hand..................  -

A buddy and I make jigs and soft baits for a lot of the local anglers that fish Old Hickory Lake and the last two weeks have been tough on all the bass anglers. A few guys have picked up some Flipping Jigs with craws as trailers on wood on the main channel from Bledsoe Creek up river to the 231 bridge. A few folks have been catching fish on Shakey Heads with some of my Red Shad Bungee worms around outer weed edges from mouth of Sandy's Chapel down to the mouth of Bell Island. They are also taking a few on Buzz baits out on the river flats from Bull Creek up river early. Hope this helps and you have a great Memorial Day Weekend................. :usa: :usa:

Let us not forget to honor all of our troops both serving, Veterans and Fallen Heroes this weekend. This is their weekend and remember if you know a Vet or active military make sure you thank them for their service.................... :usa: :usa: :usa:

I am a long time member of the NRA And my renewal is in September and since January I have received not less than 6 renewal from the in the mail. I look at my card date and throw them in the trash without opening them up. I will renew in September but not until. They are hoping for donations which I never send is all..............jmho

If someone is trying to kick my door in or breaks a window and enters my home 911 operator will hear the gun fire as I am shooting the bad guy/guys. When 911 says shots fired the squad cars begin going faster and normally at that point the ambulances roll. If they are kicking my door in or breaking me windows my life is definitely in danger at that point..................jmho

I think Obama stopped all sales and gifts of Military equipment and firearms to all police departments. He made the announcement in a press conference the beginning of this week. The only things they will be able to get is body armor and riot shields. He said he didn't see a need for police departments to be militarized like they were in Ferguson MO. My guess is he is not wanting the police to be that protected from rioters and riots with a show of that kind of force. I am guessing he did have ulterior motives for this but would be racist to tell the truth...............jmho

Yea and they announce new ones every June that are going into effect on July 1st on the news and everyone is suppose to know what all of them are..................

I did not mean anything negative at all about the Patriot Guard and I have the utmost respect for them and even know many of them. I said many people that don't know the difference would assume that because they ride in a large group they are a gang and don't know how to separate a Gang from a Club. Like I said I meant no disrespect at all towards the Patriot Guard. If I could still ride I would ride with them...............

Ok , so Sturgis has had a few incidents but if you consider the number of bikers that gather for it you would have expected a lot more than that over the 75 years. I have a friend that rides a lot and he is what is called a Free Rider to the gangs because he has friends in a few or them so he can ride with them but not wear their colors or patches. He use to go to Sturgis every year but age has finally got hold of him and his old Nam injuries are finally showing up. He only ride local now but he stopped by yesterday and we had a long talk about all of this. I learned a lot about the gangs I didn't know. I didn't even know you could ride with them as a Free rider till yesterday. Just have to follow a few rules to do so. Like you cannot ride in first 6 positions as they are reserved for the Gang leaders and you cannot pass them. When they stop, you stop. You can exit the ride at any time just by pulling off on side road with right arm raised. Sorry but he is my friend but his likes on somethings don't blend well and riding with a gang even in a Free Ride would not be for me.........jmho

I need honest opinion related to HCP Class
bersaguy replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in Women's Perspectives
Quote from grady "The shooting test was so easy that the hardest part was reloading the magazine. You'll be fine." I wish I would have known a head of time what the shooting drills consisted of so I could have brought extra magazines for it already loaded. The particular firearm I was using I had 5 back up mags for and my buddy has 5 for his and I could have borrowed them............  -
I'm guessing it is really cow hide and they are using a Bull Hide sales pitch because most folks think of bulls as being tough and rough and most people don't know about real bull hide. What really matters most is if you like it and it serves your needs. Everything else is irrelevant........................jmho Oh Yea, Nice Belt................ :2cents:

Do me a favor and don't beat your self before you even go to the class by beating yourself up so much before you even go. You will pass it like a cake walk....................................  -
I was raise from age 13 till serving my country on a Farm/Ranch in Cheatham county and every fall we would have a neighborhood killing weekend and several neighbors would gather at the farm and bring their animals and it would be hog and beef killing time from 4AM on Saturday till it was all done late Sunday night. Women worked in the house and men outside. Was like an assembly line. We would put down a heifer at about 1000 lbs and three hogs about 225/250 each. It was my job to put each animal down My old Remington 22 single shot never made a hog squeal and every cow went down with out a kick. Now as I look back I don't know now if I could do that again but back then it was just what you do to eat on a farm/ranch along with a huge garden...............

How to survive a carjacking
bersaguy replied to The Legion's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
A friend of mine was carjacked in Chicago a few years back. A guy jumped in passenger side with a knife and my buddy turned off his car pulled his keys and got out leaving the guy sitting in the car. The guy jumped out and ran away. He said he would have done the same thing if the guy had a gun. They don't expect you to exit the car and just leave them sitting there. Better to let them have the car than get shot..................jmho
