  1. Struts are a main front end part that basically controls most all front end parts. They do control the camber on the front tires which camber on older cars before struts also cause tire wear on outer side of tires and many times back then you ended up replacing inner and outer tie rod ends and got an alignment to correct the problem. The front struts are also the shock absorbers so they will cause shaking when worn. Make sure when you choose a shop to do the repair that you choose one that can do everything in house. Firestone and Goodyear are a couple that do this but they also love the almighty dollar. They will try and sell you a lot of things you probably don't need. If at all possible I would look for an Independent Shop before last resort Chain operations...........jmho
  2. Jennifer, a manager at   Wal-Mart, had the task of hiring someone to fill a job opening. After sorting through a stack of resumes she found four people who were equally qualified. Jennifer decided to call the four in and ask them only one question. Their answer would determine which of them would get the job. The day came and as the four sat around the conference room table, Jennifer asked, 'What is the fastest thing you know of?' The first man replied, 'A THOUGHT.' It just pops into your head. There's no warning. 'That's very good!' replied Jennifer. 'And, now you sir?', she asked the second man. 'Hmmm...let me see 'A blink! It comes and goes and you don't know that it ever happened. A BLINK is the fastest thing I know of.' 'Excellent!' said Jennifer. 'The blink of an eye, that's a very popular cliché for speed.' She then turned to the third man, who was contemplating his reply. 'Well, out at my dad's ranch, you step out of the house and on the wall there's a light switch. When you flip that switch, way out across the pasture the light on the barn comes on in less than an instant. 'Yep, TURNING ON A LIGHT is the fastest thing I can think of'. Jennifer was very impressed with the third answer and thought she had found her man. 'It’s hard to beat the speed of light,' she said. Turning to BUBBA, the fourth and final man, Jennifer posed the same question. Old Bubba replied, 'After hearing the previous three answers, it's obvious to me that the fastest thing known is DIARRHEA.' 'WHAT!?' said Jennifer, stunned by the response. 'Oh sure', said BUBBA. 'You see, the other day I wasn't feeling so good, and I ran for the bathroom, but before I could THINK, BLINK, or TURN ON THE LIGHT, I had already shit my pants.' BUBBA is now the new greeter at a Wal-Mart near you! You probably will think of this every time you enter a Wal-Mart from now on!
  3.   I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 76).    We decided to grab a bite at the food court.    I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.    The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green,   red,  Orange , and blue.   My dad kept staring at her.   The teenager kept looking and would find my dad staring every time..   When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked: "What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?"   Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response;    I knew he would have a good one!   In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid .... "Got stoned once and had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if You might be my kid."
  4. There s a lot of Actors and Actresses in Tinsel Town that agree that Americans should be able to have and own guns but to scared to admit it. In several cases where a person spoke out in favor of them soon found themselves unable to find work in Hollywood. By that happening many have just kept quiet about it or even spoke against gun violence to keep working. Ever so often another one speaks out and expresses their true feelings. I guess those are the few that no longer need to work.........jmho
  5. Well, I have a pretty good idea about the Muslin/Islam issue now and thank all for that. I guess unless the police and Homeland Security can catch the bad ones planning on hurting a lot of people and can stop them in time we will some day experience  more things like the Boston Marathon Bombings across the country. As far as Presidents Kennedy was a good one for what time he got to prove it. I think he would have been a  good one. Since then I guess Reagan would be next in line but only on a few issues. He showed the Unions who is really the boss when he fired unionized Traffic Controllers that were on strike. put military controllers in the airports until he could get new non union controllers trained and in the towers or allowed any that wanted to return in a non union status could go back to work. He also brought the jobs back and straightened out the budget from the brink of disaster and got people back working, Helped in getting the Wall torn down and fixed relations with Russia......................
  6. Welcome to TGO and Tennessee Mike...................
  7. A Lonely Man on a Beach   A man washed up on a beach after a shipwreck. Only a sheep and a sheepdog were washed-up with him. After looking around, he realized that they were stranded on a deserted island. After being there awhile, he got into the habit of taking his two animal companions to the beach every evening to watch the sunset.   One particular evening, the sky was a fiery red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle - a perfect night for romance.   As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the lonely man. Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and put his arm around it.   The sheepdog, ever-protective of the sheep, growled fiercely until the man took his arm from around the sheep. After that, the three of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together, but there was no more cuddling.   A few weeks passed-by and, lo and behold, there was another shipwreck. The only survivor was Hillary Clinton. That evening, the man brought Hillary to the evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful evening - red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze - perfect for a night of romance.   Pretty soon, the man started to get those feelings again. He fought the urges as long as he could but he finally gave-in and leaned over to Hillary and told her he hadn't had sex for months.   Hillary batted her eyelashes and asked if there was anything she could do for him.             He said, 'Take the dog for a walk .'
  8. I do every time I go through the drive up window................   I do carry inside which is seldom I go inside but I do go in armed....
  9. Turning rotors while on the car has been around since the early 80's when FWD vehicles got popular and many of them had rotors that were pressed on so rather then have to use a hub puller to remove the rotor they would turn them on the cars. I used one of them about 10 years before i quit working on cars.
  10. I have a close friend that owns about 30 Cash  Loan/title loans businesses in and around middle Tennessee and he will not hire an employee that does not have a carry permit to work in any of his stores. He figures if you can't get an HCP or purchase a firearm he does not need you in his employ.  All of his employees are trained and armed.
  11. How do you purchase insurance on a firearm you have not even purchased yet? One of the posts stated you have to ahve insurance on a gun before you even buy it so just wondering how to do it?...........................
  12. Welcome aboard to greatest gun site on the Net and to Tennessee.........................
  13. Congrads and glad your didn't eat yourself up before you even took the class. Glad you did well. Welcome to the life of a safer person.............
  14. I'm just curious, unless you think you might have to shoot someone wearing Body Armour what is the reason for carrying a gun loaded with All Brass or Copper loads. I would be afraid the round would pass through doing little damage and possibly strike an innocent person. I would much rather have my carry gun loaded with a ball ammo in FMJ but will do more damage and most likely not do a through and through endangering others behind your target................jmho
  15. I use O'Reilly's to get mine turned. Since i have not worked on any of the newer trucks, do you have hubs made onto your rotors or are they Hub-less? If they are hub-less I would look at new verses having old ones turned. If they have made in hubs I would have them turned, pack bearings and put in new grease seals ...................
  16. Well I got very specific while talking with my agent about my renters insurance policy before I purchased it. She said instead of itemizing certain items in your home do a bundle and see what kind of limit you would like to have on total over all contents. Then buy the policy based on that figure. If I have a total loss I have everything insured for $35,000.00 w/ $500.00 deductible. If I have a theft and only certain items are taken valued at less then $10,000.00 my deductible is $250.00. It is all in a bundle with my Skeeter Boat, Jeep and renters policies. Since being with this agent I have had 1 claim. I damaged my Skeeter Boat on Percy Priest by hitting a very large pile of rocks that someone had put in some water I had run through for years and never hit it. People do build piles when they draw down the lake in Winter and then go back and fish them when they raise the lake. Damage to my fiberglass was about $5,500.00. This happened on a Monday night, I called my agent on Tuesday. Got two estimates on Tuesday morning. On Tuesday afternoon with pictures on her computer along with a quote from Fast Glass Boat repair it was approved for repair and i got my boat back on following Monday.  Cannot complain at all with their service or State Farms no haggle claim handling. Fast and efficient  service..........................  Oh yea, the following year my boat policy actually came down $14.00 from previous year.....
  17. I hope they find your brothers guns in their house but I think in many cases they have buyers lined up to flip them as soon as they get them. even if they are in their home they are still evidence and it will be a time consuming job getting them back cause you will have to wait until after court trial and then go through the red tape but in the long run, if he gets them back that will be a win for the good guys.........
  18. My State Farm agent told me to take pictures and keep serial numbers and all of my firearms are covered under my renters policy with no top end replacement limits. So I keep all the pictures and serial numbers in my fire proof/water proof safe. ............. Wish I would have had a gun safe back in 1988. My Home Owners in 1988 did pay me for all the guns that were stolen after 90 day waiting period but in all honesty I would have much rather got my guns back because many of them were irreplaceable. Either family pass downs or belonged to my dead son.................. :(
  19. Same thing happened to me back in 1988 and I gave the Sheriffs deputy a list of every type of gun and Serial Numbers and to this day not one has surfaced any place. I check with Cheatham County Sheriffs office once a month and my grandson is a deputy there and he also checks on them often.
  20. I'm quite sure that couple days will be in the memories of both young and old for ever. Those are the things people like to remember................
  21. I have always said Chrome don't get ya home when it comes to fancy cars but I have a feeling in this case Chrome would surely get you home. That is one beautiful rifle for sure. ........................
  22. Most tire weights today are not made of lead but another metal and aluminum product with only about  15% lead in them. I had a buddy get some and he couldn't do anything with them but throw them out.
  23. Thanks for that Dolo. I think if anyone has been in war and serve in battle they had that one best friend they lost. I know what your talking about.   I lost one of my team 3 years ago, but not in battle but from heart attack. It still hurts because my team have all kept in touch since we came state side in 74. Memorial Day does make his passing a remembrance also. Sorry about your loss and about how it effected you with your already tough situation. Glad it has at least gotten easier for you in the years gone by...........
  24. The only thing I will ever use Comcast for it cable TV. I won't ever use anything else they offer period. I delete all their emails without opening them and pay the Cable bill in person and if it is anything from them but a bill in snail mail it does not get opened either. Junk mail file 13 for it.
  25. Maybe so but in all honesty I don't believe these kids really wanted to police involved or attracted to them at all. You could tell on the faces of most of them that they didn't even want to be there. You could tell they wanted to run by the expressions on most of them faces. I'm sorry about your friends trouble. It sounds like the police didn't handle it correctly of something happened when the officers went to his home to confront him which resulted in his arrest.................
