  1. An Irishman, a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building. They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, 'Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building.' The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed,'Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too.' The blonde guy opened his lunch and said, ' Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too.' The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death. The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too. The blonde guy opened his lunch, saw the bologna and jumped to his death as well. At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She said, 'If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!' The Mexican's wife also wept and said, 'I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much.' (Oh this is GOOD!!)?   Everyone turned and stared at the blonde guy's wife. The blonde guy's wife said, 'Don't look at me. He makes his own lunch ..'
  2. I also didn't see where any particular caliber weapons were used. I wonder what caliber gun the bad guy had verses what the good guy had?.......................Curious minds like to know!!! :squint:
  3. When the Good Lord calls my number he will find me in Tennessee and I will be buried in Tennessee.  nuff said............
  4. Very sorry you are going through this and you can bet Prayers will be coming your way. I have a friend who's mother is going through it and surprising to him he learned from the Assisted Living facility she is in right near his home. He has learned that people who suffer with AD do have one thing that they have found that works at the facility. Jig Saw Puzzles. Many of the patients with AD at the facility actually enjoy working on Jig Saw Puzzles as it keeps their minds working. You might try that with your Dad. If he quits playing his mouth organ get him involved in a puzzle and work it with him. Maybe it will ease some of his frustration. Prayers will come your way and thank you for taking care of your Dad. He may not seem to appreciate now but it will help you later knowing you are there for him now.   God Bless
  5. I love the body cams for sure. That was self explanatory and I don't think there is any doubt what so ever it was a justified shoot. I also think it was a smart move by officers to get him out of the business as calmly as they did. Good job on LEO's parts.....jmho
  6. Ok, I have done this a few times back when I was turning wrenches. I had a two wheel tow dolly so didn't have to rent one from u Haul but either way once you have the dolly pulled up in place to the end of the car FWD or RWD and then jack up the car high enough to back the dolly under the tires. Let it down on the dolly platforms, strap it down. Once you have it on the dolly you can take it anywhere you want to go. A lot easier than trying to figure out a way to disable the transmission and a lot safer. my :2cents:
  7. I don't know how many folks remember when those propane tank cars exploded in Waverly in the mid 70's and a lot of folks were injured and some killed. The police didn't really have a lot of time to react and get folks to safety. I think they may have learned a lot from that horrible situation so now they are acting on the side of caution for the good of the people nearest the site of the derailment. I don't actually know if they can force you to leave your home but thinking of my family if I were in the danger zone I would leave and go to a friends home or motel away from the danger area rather than a shelter and my pets would go with me and not a shelter.........Just my ......... :2cents:
  8. I'm sure your girlfriend knows you carry. I would ask her about her friends and if she has ever heard any of their feeling about firearms. The homeowner may also be a pro gun person themselves. After learning all I could I would then make a decision. I don't drink alcohol  so that would not be an issue on my part..............just my :2cents:
  9. I have no intentions of leaving my home so this is were I live and this is were I will die if the SHTF comes. I have enough food and supplies and probably enough ammo to protect what I have for a while but  l am to run and was never one to run from a fight to begin with. Like Peejman said if the time comes it was an honor knowing ya'll..................
  10. You should be very proud of his accomplishments as he has proven he is his fathers son. you should be proud of your service to your country also. You served proudly also..............................
  11. I saw on news last night that almost the entire western US in on fire. I think about every state west of the Rockies and up in Canada they has wild fires burning.................... :ugh: :ugh:
  12. I do also. I don't think they were local. From what I have heard Cookeville is a pretty cool town so I'm guessing they were just passing through and were probably staying in one of the local motels near by..
  13. Well, yea it was a lot of work and from 1998 when I got the boat new until 2012 I was on the water 5 days a week minimum. either fishing a bass tournament or practicing for one. I had to have a lower unit put on in 1999 under warranty. That was the first time it was in the shop. The 2nd time was back in 2010 for a hard to start when cold issue that S&R fixed in less then 15 minutes at N/C so while they had it I had them do a maintenance service which included the addition of an automatic bulge pump to back up manual pump. They serviced lower unit, did water pump, did complete turn up, fogged carbs for winter storage since it was November, changed all filters and cost me $385.00 for all of that including parts and labor. This was the first major repair on the boat since it was new in 98. I have zero complaints with my Yamaha motor and Skeeter boat. In 2012 I had finally burned myself out and was only spending a couple nights a month smallmouth bass fishing so I turned the boat over to my son in law cause my daughter said I created a monster when I taught him how to bass fish. He is now on the water when ever work will permit it and we still chase Smallies at night J Percy Priest Lake when he can get time off to go...................
  14. I had my home burglarized back in 1988 and had about 19 guns taken and have yet to have any one of them surface. I  find that rather remarkable but who ever took them I believe still has every one of them or some of them would have shown up by now. I feel it was someone that knew my family very well because they knew all of what we were going through at that time and knew we were not home for long periods of time and they were able to find some of my guns that were hidden in false walls. That leads me to think it was a close friend of the family at one time or another................jmho

A  Marine enters the Catholic Church confessional booth in > Jacksonville. > > He  tells the priest, "Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.  Last night, I > beat the hell out of an  Obama supporter." > >          The  priest says, "My son, I am here to forgive your sins, not to > discuss your community service." > >                                                                       *Semper Fi!*
  16. Yea, you got one one of those great OMC motors. The Fast Strikes from 90 to 95 were almost bullet proof motors like my Yamaha. I had to have carbs rebuilt, have inner and out exhaust pans replaced inside power head as they had holes burned in them allowing exhaust to escape inside the power head and that was what was killing number 4 cylinder. Had all new fuel lines and filters replaced, lower unit serviced and seals replaced. Water pump and new primer bulbs replaced. Total bill $908.00. I called a few other dealers and got quotes from them on what all S&R Marine did and everyone of them was $1200.00 or more. That is why S&R does all my work...................
  17. Well went up and picked up my repaired boat yesterday and am happy to say I had a very UN-eventful trip. left house about 10:30 and back home at 1PM........................
  18. Sorry to hear about the break in but glad your daughter was not hurt. Hope you locate her firearm quickly.
  19. I need to look when I watch the next NASCAR race because in all honesty the only flags I have seen at them are the American flags in the crowds. I guess I should have looked before all the controversy cause now there will probably be some................. :ugh:  :ugh:
  20. Not exactly Metro Nashville but Guns & Leather would be one you may want to look at.........jmho

  22. back when I was in Grade school in the 5th grade I had a man teacher named Donald Bruce and I will never forget him. On our first day of school he said before I am done teaching you students there are three things you will know and know well. They are Reading, Writing and Arthematic. He made sure of that and when the class moved to the 6th grade he moved with us and we had him for a second year. Our reading consisted of reading our U.S. History and our writing came from the World History books as we would be required to write out of them for 30 minutes and then read to the class what were wrote. Our Math got 1 hours of each day dedicated to it. I am still complimented to this day about how nice my hand writing is for a man. His goal was to make sure that when we went out into the world we would know the 3 main things that a person will use every day of their. Reading, Writing and Math. I'm 67 years old and I use all 3 of those teachings every day. Those are the dedicated teachers we need teaching our children today.....................
  23. yep, it's only a matter of time before the pot boils over and all hell breaks loose. Keep your powder dry is all I can say and stay locked and loaded...............jmho
