Fisherman Killed on Percy Priest lake boat ramp!!!
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Back when I was fishing with my son in law we only used Seven Points launch ramp because it is well lit at night. Also when I would approach the dock to load at 1 or 2 AM I would do a scan of the entire parking area and woods around it before letting my Son In law out on the dock to get the trailer. In case I have not shown the front of my Skeeter on here I have a pair of Airliner Landing lights mounted on the front that will light up a football field and are really hard to actually look into directly so when I turn them on things do light up a lot. I also hand him one of my pistols I have in the boat to walk to the truck with and I keep the lights on with gun in hand to back him up. I worry about him fishing alone now with my eye sight but he now will take a friend along and he does same procedure and now has his own HCP and packs his own heat. -
I have a friend that has several L.C Smith Double barrels he has had for many years in his collection of shotguns. back when he bought them they were a very sought after double barrel. His are all original L.C.Smiths and two of the are so old they have the Damascus twist barrels on them which does not recommend anything except Black powder shotgun shells be used in them. ...... :2cents:

The only reason Japan did (NOT) invade our homeland when they attacked Pearl harbor was because of the intelligence of an Admiral of the Imperial Japanese navy when he was ask why Japan did not attack the American home land he stated that to do so we would surely be defeated. ("In that country there is a man or women behind every blade of grass with a gun and we would be enormously out numbered"). He was not afraid of our military but of the fighting spirit of the American people overall. He also made the statement as men cheered on their way back to Japan that was( "I fear we have done nothing more than awakened a sleeping giant") Dolo is correct in so many ways I cannot pick any one item out. I can say that our President has caused a great loss of respect by our allies because of his say something but do nothing actions and by not standing behind our real allies he has made our great nation appear weak in the eyes of our allies. He has also done great damage in his attempts to divide us at home as a nation. All of us can only pray for a new leader to step up and take America back where she needs to be and we all need to hammer our elected officials in the Congress and Senate every day letting them know our distrust in them and let them know they all can be replaced...........................JMHO

Plus storage and maintenance fees while in storage. Said , depending of the item anywhere from a $100.00 a day up to a $1,000.00 a day would be a nice round figure!!!.......................

Of Course I will have to see it and we have a Carmike theater here in Gallatin that is not posted nor do they wan nor do they have metal detectors last time my son in law and daughter was there both packing heaters 2 weeks ago. I will also buy it when it comes out on DVD as I do have the complete collection of them up to this one. I will be passing them down to my grand children's children. One thing I did notice in the trailer was all new costumes and was shocked and pleased to see Harrison Ford but with all that they are still flying the same space crafts which makes the movie more special. The Old Millennium Falcon was a sight to see again..........

If Obama is really serious about getting his stuff back I would invite him to come and pick it but but would not spend time or money locally to send it back. I bet he would have trouble finding any troops that would be willing to come and pick the stuff back up..........jmho

Clinton suggests she'd consider mandatory gun buy-backs
bersaguy replied to polecat's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This topic was brought up on the Megan Kelly files on Fox last evening. It was discussed by about 3 + Megan one being from the Down Under Country. I had to laugh when he said that the people in the country have recovered back and now own about the same amount of guns they did back during confiscation but this time there are not quite as many shotguns and more Hi powered Rifles. Sounds like they may have a couple of those markets like Ted mentioned down there huh??? All that money the government spent back then buying old shot guns didn't do anything but give everyone money towards new and better weapons. Kind of Ironic huh??? More power to the people down under is all I can say............. That should be proof enough that if people want to own guns they will own them one way or another. Also now the Australian government has no clue who all has them now because no one registered them like they did the first time. So now they can't come and take them like they could the first time............. -
My Son in Law fishes Percy lake often so I made sure he stays alert to all surroundings while launching or loading the boat. http://www.wsmv.com/story/30278848/1-killed-in-shooting-at-rutherford-county-boat-ramp

I to was promised my fathers old Remington 22 single shot that my mother bought him back in the 50's. Never got it. One of my other brothers got it and instead of offering it to me to buy he sold it to a stranger. Needless to say I have not spoken with this brother in almost 15 years and honestly don't even know if he is still alive. He knew I wanted that gun and sold it to spite me.

Lucky it was only one death and I would almost guess that particular Zombie was targeted............jmho

So I am thinking about starting a TGO Hall of Shame
bersaguy replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I don't see anything with a Hall of Shame at all. I always say if the shoe fits wear it and if someone deserves to be placed in the Hall let it be! This is your site and you are the one that has to deal with these less desirable's so you do it as you see fit and folks can just deal with it...................JMHO -
Gun Violence in Chicago -Where is the outrage?
bersaguy replied to polecat's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Can anyone remember the last time our local news networks didn't mention a shooting or a killing right here in Nashville? It seems like an everyday occurrence these days also. As for Chicago, it has always had murder issues all the way back to the roaring 20's and has never changed. There have always been murders in the Windy City. It is only because of the mass shootings that it has been brought to the fore front. Back in 1974 right after I returned home from Service I went to work in the Illinois Department of Correction and was stationed at the Joliet Prison branch. There was a whole walk(Tier) of Black gang members 80 cells worth with 2 in each cell. They were mostly members of a Black organization known as the Black P Stone Nation which was in connection to an area of Black Stone Avenue in Chicago. I ask one of them what he was in for because he seemed so young to be in a Main Prison system. He was 16 years old and doing life without parole for the murders of three other black youths all under the age of 15 because they refused to join the Black Gangsters Street Gang so he just shot each one in the head and walked away. So this is not a new problem in Chicago. It is just a really old problem that has never been solved nor will it ever be and the news medias have finally figured that out so yea, it's not news any more in Chicago...........jmho -
Very sorry to hear of your loss Ben. He is now with GOD and his pain is gone and I wish you and your family the best and prayers coming........

Clinton suggests she'd consider mandatory gun buy-backs
bersaguy replied to polecat's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"One thing else to consider if it moves forward, theft will skyrocket. It'll likely be a few or no questions asked deal for those who voluntarily produce them for the buy back. Lock them down tight! You have a point but I think anyone that would risk stealing a gun is a thief and a criminal to begin with and they would not steal it to sell it to the cops. They would most likely steal it to commit a crime of some type..............jmho -
Maybe Obama has finally figured out that if he decides to do something stupid that he does not have the support of just about any law enforcement in any state at state level so he does not want them to have weapons that our military has. The law enforcement agencies in New York proved that when that stupid governor passed that law requiring all New Yorker's to register their Black rifles and semi auto rifles and only about 5% of them did. All the law enforcement agencies including the state police told him to pound sand if he thought they were going knocking on doors to arrest anyone that did not register their guns. That busted his bubble don't ya know. Told him where he stood with regards to the law enforcement in his state................

bersaguy replied to polecat's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is a recent article written about Australia's point of view verses America comparing the two and Australia's saying their gun laws would never work in the United States for many reasons. It is a long article so read it when you have time. I read it all. The last few paragraphs are the most interesting about facts. http://www.thefederalist.com/2015/06/25/the-australia-gun-control-fallacy/ -
is it illegal to sell a gun with a non functioning safety?
bersaguy replied to JoeJ615's topic in General Chat
If it were me and I was trying to sell a gun that is designed with an external safety I would not sell it till the safety was fully operational. If I could not fix it myself I would take it to my gunsmith and get it fixed. Then and only then would I sell the gun. There is no way I could sleep at night knowing I sold and unsafe gun to someone that might have young children either in the home or visiting the home. Or even some adults for that fact.................JMHO -
I practically grew up on my Grandfathers Farm/Ranch in Cheatham County and we had whole hog Bar-B-Ques for family gatherings every summer 3 times. Beginning on Memorial Day and ending on Labor Day and my Grandfather was very particular about his wood. It was 70% Hickory and 30% oak and we would cook an entire hog for about 20 to 24 hours on an open pit using nothing except hot ash chips from a large fire burning about 20 feet from the hog. Family men tended the fire and shoveled hot coals under the hog all during cooking process. it did take about 24 hours to cook a 175 to 200 lbs hog that way but it was a wonderful experience and I got to hear some great stories from the elders of the family as they sat around the fire. My Grandmother made the Bar B Q sauce that was mopped on the hog about 10 or 12 times during cooking. I sure do miss those days of family gatherings. It seems as the elders of the family began dying off their traditions died off with them. My family has spread to the four winds and no longer gather except to bury someone and only then do many folks find out that the family is getting smaller...............I still have my memories and they do come to me when I also drive by a BBQ pit during cooking hours............Just an old mans memories is all................. Oh yea forgot to mention the quart fruit jar that was always being passed around while the stories were going on. I don't think any of them would have been complete without that fruit jar.......

What is confidence? A Navy Seal walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a very attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance then casually looks at his new Apple watch for a moment. The woman notices this and asks, "Is your date running late?" "No," he replies, "just got this state-of-the-art Apple watch, and I was just testing it." The intrigued woman says, "A state-of-the-art watch? What's so special about it?" He says, "It uses alpha waves to talk to me telepathically." The lady says, "What's it telling you now?" "Well, it says you're not wearing any panties." The woman giggles and replies, "Well it must be broken because I am wearing panties!" The Navy Seal smirks, taps his watch and says, "Darn thing's an hour fast." And that, my friends.......is Confidence!
