Well, I was going to try backing away of somethings mentioned and bacon was one of them. Well, Kroger made me buy bacon yesterday. They had Wrights thick sliced bacon in 40 ounce packs for 5.99 normally about 5 dollars more so I bought 2 packs. Going to have breakfast for supper tonight. Eggs, bacon, Skillet Fried taters with onions and some toast. I thought about biscuits but have to draw the line somewhere so going with wheat toast.................

I'm really glad to hear she has been about shut down and i hope before it's over that some type of legal action is taken against her even though with her evidently long record it would probably just be some kind of probation or slap on the wrist...........jmho

You may want to try Kikkoman Japanese style Bread Crumbs. I use them when I need to make something low carb. They do have a few carbs but nothing compared to things such as Bisquick.

I have bought 3 sets of tires from the Gallatin location plus Boat trailer tires and took 2 of my Grandsons up there for them to get tires and we all got free rotate and balance for life of tires and I can go there anytime and they will check tire inflation for correct amount. Always friendly folks that stumble over themselves trying to serve folks. I will continue doing business with them and recommend them to anyone looking for tires..................

I will share one story from Nam that I have not talked about till right now. My team had just checked in a fire base for a few days R&R and being in jungle for a solid month on recon. New recruits were also arriving at the same time. As they climbed out of the Huey's you could see it in there eyes. They were scared to death. Charlie also knew the new recruits were arriving and many times they would test the fire base and new recruits. That night they hit with mortars and then they charged of the wires with ladders. Everyone was scrambling to get under ground and get ready to fight. A man who will remain nameless jumped into a half covered trench only to see a new recruit that arrived that day trying to get his rifle muzzle in his mouth. The man shouted at him to get that damn gun out of his face and pointed to the wire. The damn enemy is out there and the man began firing at the enemy approaching the wire and the new recruit threw his gun down and buried his head in his arms. As things began to calm down some the man looked at the kid and said just what were you thinking and the boys rely was "I am going home"! The man looked at the boys face and said yea you are and he shot the kid in the foot. Then hollered for a medic and by then things had calmed down except for this boys screaming till the medic arrived. The medic looked at the wound and ask how he got shot in the foot while in a trench and before the kid could say anything the man said accidental discharge during a reload while under fire. As the man started to walk away he turned and said say hi to your family for me. He just looked the the man as he walked away. Just before the kid was loaded on the Medi-vac to go home the man walked passed his stretcher and the young man said "thanks and the man just looked at him and said "for what?" and walked away. If any of you think it was me it was not. It was shared with me by the man that did do it and I asked him why he did it? His reply was that kid was going home and if I didn't send him home he would just do what he was trying to do an hour later. He went home breathing and will probably have a limp. Was the man wrong? I don't know and was not my place to judge him. I know he probably would have been court martial-ed for his actions if the young man would have ever mentioned what took place that night but evidently the young man knew what the man had really done and left it alone also. I have known about that action taken that night since October 1971 and this is the first time I have mentioned it since that night. I probably would not have ever mentioned it had this thread not been started. As I look back the action taken that night may have saved a young man/Soldiers life. I don't know. Hell the kid may have still killed himself after returning home. I hope not but I guess none of us will ever really know..............I do have my own opinion on that action but that will remain sealed.

Suicides by military personnel is not anything new. It just gets more attention now than it did back in the Vietnam era. Like GT said some guys didn't do it because of what we were facing over there but it was what was going on back home in many cases. Also back then many of the young men that were drafted and forced to serve at such a young age really messed them up. Far to many young men went to Vietnam were expecting to be killed. You could see it in their eyes when they arrived in country and didn't have a clue how to approach anything. They were just told to follow orders and they would be fine. Of course that was told to them by an officer here that had never see combat so it was easy for them to say...........JMHO

I think we are going to begin seeing more of these type offers and also see those gun buster signs begin coming back down as more and more business owners realize that having concealed legal gun owners in their place of business is really added what could almost be called free security for the business. Just putting the Gun Busted signs up invites a bad guy to rob them. A sign welcoming concealed carry would give the bad guys a feeling of insecurity not knowing how many legal carry people might be in the business at any given time................jmho

I guess they have once again changed their minds on meats. Last night on the news they announced that any processed meats can be a cause of cancer and that smoked meats are as bad if not worse than smoking cigarettes. They also said pork is a red meat after is has been advertised as the other white meat for years. They also say grilling meat on a grill compounds the dangers and make them far more dangerous than smoking cigarettes. I damn sure wish they would make up their minds on what is going to kill me and get it over with. Look how hard every fast food restaurant has been pushing bacon on everything they make. I guess all of them are working over time to give folks cancer. Below is a link about this and as far as I can tell the article is pretty much a toss up between "Chicken Little running around screaming the Sky is falling" and "The little boy that cried Wolf". If you read the entire article you will probably be as confused as I was to all of the crazy findings of many different findings of many different groups. Myself I agree with one woman interviewed while coming out of a grocery store when ask about the survey and it's findings. her reply was " Everything causes Cancer according to some organization, Everyone dies of something and all lives end" and she walked away. I find things a little different in one sense. Back many many moons ago when my Grandfather and all his brothers were farmers and raised all their own meats and processed their own meats and grew their own vegetables they all lived to be quite old. My grandfather was 96 when he passed away. He had 3 brothers and they all farmed. The brother that passed away the youngest was 88 when he died. So with that said, I don't think it's the meats killing anyone but the chemicals that the big farmers are using such as growth hormones that cause faster growth so they can get their stock to market quicker is the real culprit in the meat.....................jmho http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonkblog/wp/2015/10/26/hot-dogs-bacon-and-other-processed-meats-cause-cancer-world-health-organization-declares/

It was back in the news tonight. They think they have him kind of cornered but not 100% sure. He sure is a slippery old man. I am betting they probably won't take him alive. Unless he has access to news, he probably thinks he killed the officer he gut shot...In all honesty it would not hurt my feelings he was killed in shoot out with police. Save taxpayers a fortune and get another piece of :poop: off the streets...............jmho

It was on NBC Late News last night and they said he was driving a red Ford Pick up and they thought they had found the vehicle but were still hunting him.............

The lack of coverage and attention given was because it was a Law Enforcement Officer being shot and not a Law Enforcement shooting some so called innocent person. The Media's have become as far left as our President when it come to LEO's. He hates them because most all of them has refused to act on Americans that refuse to follow the stupid gun laws issued in a several states...... :ugh: :ugh:

There are people out there everyday running the Vet Con games on the vulnerable public. Several years back when I would go to my old shop to visit my son there was they man( I say man) that was always standing on this same street corner holding a sign saying "Can you help-Vietnam Vet." After my third time seeing him I pulled up to him and told him that he might want to try changing his sign to read Operation Desert Storm and he ask why and I said because you about 25 years to young to be Vietnam Vet. He evidently changed street corners after that because I never saw him again. I don't give to any of them. There are to many legit organizations to donate to for Veterans................jmho

What are TGOers putting on their Christmas list this year?
bersaguy replied to Spots's topic in General Chat
I myself would just like a year without any major health issues and I would be happy. I have told my entire family not to buy me a damn thing cause I don't need all the junk I have now. My daughter calls me Scrooge every year and every year I agree with her. I try decorating that year after I lost my wife to try and keep her memories alive but it didn't work so I gave all my decorations to the Kids so they could decorate for the grand kids. -

I am a Vet and I have never walked through the doors of a VA hospital and never will. I have always paid for insurance for my medical bills for myself and my family. I have no use for anything the Federal Government has to offer me that I did not pay for or into first and they are looking for ways to screw me along with millions of other Americans out of their Social Security. They stole all the funds out of it and use them on pet projects. When Social Security laws were handed down it stated that no one except Social Security recipients were to receive funds from it. All that's left in the account are useless IOU's that no politician intends on paying back. If they ever sent me pain pills via UPS or any other carrier I would refuse them and make the driver take them back................... -
I seem to be able to find 380 most places I go but then I am looking for 380 to see if I can get a buy on any. I never look at 9mm since I don't own one. That might be why I don't see the cost difference. A buddy of mine that frequents some of the same places I do and has a few 380's told me of a couple place we go that just got a large stock of 380's Ammo in Remington at a good price and he bought 5 boxes while he was there. 18.00 a box for 50 rounds. That is what I paid about 4 years ago for it................

Save Monkeyman ... Or not ... (Classic Car Advice)
bersaguy replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in General Chat
Ok, after reading the ad and looking at the truck you are not really wanting to sell her. You are actually hoping no one buys her. You listed ever flaw she has and has already planted in any potential buyers mind that they will be paying somewhere close to 10 grand on a vehicle that will need at least another 5 grand spent on her from the get go........... That is sure sign you don't want her to sell..... -
You may be right, never thought about that. It's been a while since I bought any ammo. Bought quit a bit back several years ago so have not priced any recently................... :ugh: :ugh:
-
Bersa Thunder 380s start at $265.00 and Bersa 9mm begin at over $400.00 at Bud's so where is it that you find 380's cost more than 9mm do?

Save Monkeyman ... Or not ... (Classic Car Advice)
bersaguy replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in General Chat
I had a 1990 GMC 1500 Sierra that I bought new in 1990 and paid cash for it. I put 240,000 miles on her and much of the time it was pulling a bass Boat all or southeastern U.S. fishing bass tournaments. All the time I owned that truck I only had to put two rebuilt trannys in her and regular maintenance. It still had original timing chain in it. My Son gave me a Jeep Cherokee once I quit touring and it will pull bass boat to all local lakes. I parked the GMC for about a month and got a hair up my but to set it out front of my house with a 4 sale sign on it That same day I had 5 people stop by and ask about it and how much I wanted for it. I to this day cannot explain why I sold it rather than just slowly fix her up but I put a price of $2,500.00 on it back in 2009 thinking no one would pay that for it. A guy and his wife stopped in that same afternoon and test drove it and came back and ask what I wanted for it. I said $2.500.00 non negotiation. He said I was asking to much for a truck with that many miles on it and the age of it. I said that is the price and not a dime less. He said thanks and went and got in with his wife and left. An hour later he came back and handed me 25 folding Ben Franklin's and I signed the title and watched it drive away. 5 minutes after it was out of sight I regretted selling it and to this day still regret it. Make sure that once you do sell it you don't end up like me. Regretting it and helpless to do anything about it.........jmho -
I got out in 73 so I am sure my info is probably on a micro-phish some where and don't know if they can get at those but one never knows when it comes to stupidity of the Federal government...................
