Gun Rights groups going after Gun Free Zones!!!
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Ok Mike, here's a review: One Group Has Jaw-Dropping Plans For “Gun-Free Zones” That will Enrage Millions 30599382_s There’s no doubt about it, gun free zones do absolutely noting to prevent mass shootings. Just take a look at a list of all the recent mass shootings the mainstream media has focused on and you’ll see 90%+ took place in a gun free zone. Which is of course why pro-gun groups have another name for the gun free zone…referring to them as target rich environments. One pro gun group thinks they’re so awful they’d like it so the creators of the gun free zone are actually the one held responsible for deaths that take place inside of these “protected spaces.” Guns.com writes: A gun rights group on Monday called for liability in mass shootings to be shifted to the entity or person who created a gun-free zone on which the incident occurred. The Second Amendment Foundation released its report on resolutions adopted at its September policy conference in Phoenix, Arizona, where the gun rights group reaffirmed its belief that that prohibiting guns in specific areas makes them vulnerable to mass shootings. The SAF also voted to unify support of urban and rural gun ownership, going as far as to put in writing its undeniable support of a measure in Utah correcting language to the 1934 National Firearms Act and 1968 Gun Control Act defining suitable firearms as those “particularly suitable for sporting purposes,” where self-defense isn’t mentioned. The bill, H.R. 2710 – also supported by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the National Rifle Association – would further protect large caliber rifles and shotguns from the classification of “destructive devices” under the NFA and would prevent the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from from being able to reclassify ammunition to “armor piercing.” A recent scare over the potential ban of green tip rounds for all but military and law enforcement use caused panicked purchasing in the civilian community, in turn increasing the ammunition’s value significantly. The argument was over whether that type of round, used in AR platform rifles, was suitable for sporting use. ARs have become increasingly popular in hunting. The committee also urged lawmakers to pass legislation protecting businesses and organizations that don’t post signs banning guns and called for gun owners to practice their Second Amendment rights and “joyously act in what an outsider might describe as ‘irrational self-reliance.'” This is a reasonable action to pursue. Businesses who look to infringe on a person’s second amendment right to protect themselves ought to be held liable for any injury taking place there. That’s what the Supreme Court rules on plenty of other acts that are in violation of a person’s constitutional rights, so why not have it be the case here too? Do you like the idea that it should be the people who prevent others from protecting themselves who should be held responsible for harm done to a person? Or should the gun manufacturer’s be the ones who have to pony up? -

My AVG didn't signal any problems with it at all and I just clicked on it again and opened it up and it works fine. It even posted my link on Google and opened up TGO link again and it worked. -
That's a fine deer for sure and I bet you put that mount on the wall of your man cave.........

How to thank an officer for going far beyond the C.O.D.?
bersaguy replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
It might be that the officer may not want his nice gesture known to all his fellow officers so I would try and see a way to make gift card that he can use personally and just say Thank you for your kindness to so-n-so in a Christmas card. Wait until a time when he can be approached and hand it to him, say thanks and walk away. A Prepaid Visa Gift card might be nice in a card..............just my :2cents: -

We have intermittent outages here from time to time and I hate it cause my coffee maker does not have a battery back up and I get up to no coffee. If the power comes back on and the timer has a backup it will make coffee. I have to fire up camp stove and do it the old fashion way if it does not come on before I wake up. Last time I did that the power came back on before the camp stove completed the coffee. I am going to buy a new coffee maker with a battery back up so it keeps the timer working instead of going to all flashing zeros. I know it still won't make coffee unless the power comes back on but at least I won't have to keep resetting the damn thing. I am not a nice guy till after my second cup in the morning............. :wall:

I am 100% confident in our Military up to a certain level. Our fighting men and women are the best there is in my book. Our rank and file Lower level commanders also I have respect for but anything beyond that I begin to become skeptical about. They are the Arm Chair Staff and where politics enters into war in which they have no business being. Wars are won on the Battle Fields and not in plush arm chairs in some plush office. This began back during the Korean War and until we get politics out of war we will continue to see our military deteriorate in increasing numbers. Since becoming President Obama has practically removed all of our best leaders of our military in all 4 branches and replaced them with far less adequate leadership and far more a$$ kissing Mr President personnel. That is why our Military is called weak. We are not weak as willing to fight to protect our great America. Our President is weak and he has placed weak leadership with in the ranks of our military. He promised change and we damn sure got it!!!! I agree with Comms on the fact that we will have to have a few attacks on our soil to get the attention needed for our Government to wake up but I also fear if Obama is still in office that any attacks will be called work place related incidents just as Fort Hood, the Naval Base, And training Center in Chattanooga was. The man will never admit they are terrorist attacks by Radical Islamic Muslim Terrorists............jmho

Hell, I wish they would print a program and distribute it among us stupid people like myself so I can figure out just who is fighting who on any given day and list the names of all the different factions that are fighting this damn war over there.............Now we have Turkish/Syrians involved??? Just who the hell are they? Have not heard of them till today. I really don't believe it was justified in the shooting of Russian Pilots while on parachutes floating helplessly to the ground. That was totally uncalled for and just another example of barbarism of those people.......jmho

Yep, it works great and that is what my Vet had Kasey on until she could not get it any longer. Last visit to get he a new refill of it and her vet said she could not get it any longer. It is fairly expensive but how much is to much for your best friend. To me I will pay the 70+ buck a month for it because it works. Can't get her to take the new stuff she put her on so that was a waste of money.

Who is making a trip from Knoxville to Nashville?
bersaguy replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
I have a 17 and I was looking for a 19 and 20 would be great. When I expand the screen size with the Control + to make it easier to read and type I have to keep re-centering the screen so was looking for something bigger. 20 would knock my socks off............. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated and thanks all. I will move my 17 on to someone else that might need a flat screen if I get a bigger one. -
Quote"The older I get.. the pickier I get what I put into my body". I had to laugh when I read that........... I am just the opposite..........The older I get the less I care about what I put in my body. I guess in the last several years I have ate foods I would never have eaten 10 years ago. learning now what I was missing out on all those years........

I spent a small fortune on Kasey's itching issues with 1 Vet which was just giving her a shot of Steroids every time I took her in and he claimed he checked her for Fleas but evidently the guy was blind cause she had them bad but I could not see them for the 5 coats of hair and I coat of tight skin down like a duck has as it is part of her breed. She sheds about 10 times a year also. Took her to a buddy of mines Vet when Kasey began losing hair off her rump in front of her tail. She said Kasey had a very bad case of Fleas causing her hair to fall out and her constant scratching and loved anyone that would scratch her. They gave her three baths on first trip to make sure they got all the way down to her skin through the down against her skin. Then they sent her home with a topical flea treatment for me to put on her once a month. All her problems were gone in about 60 days and her hair was back and she was not itching that way she was. Now we do deal with her ear and rump itching issues. There is a food issue that the Vet says as long as Kasey will not eat anything normal dogs will eat there is not much that she can do for that. She is a great vet and Kasey likes her where the other guy she offered to bite several times.Kasey's new vet for the last 8 years has spent a quite a few bucks trying to find meds in the form of snacks that most every other dog will eat and beg for more and Kasey turns her nose up at them. I have some Samples she gave me two weeks ago in Kasey's normal check up and nail clips and she gave me a new liquid fish oil base medication to put on her food to help with her skin issue in winter. I put a few squirts on Kasey's supper and she refused to eat it. I tried to Ok go hungry stunt which didn't work. She just refused to eat for about 4hours and daddy fell weak and put a new plate down and she woofed it right up. She did have her on a pill which I was able to slip past her in a slice of lunch meat but the darn company quit making it. She is trying to find another company that makes the pills. Hope you find out what is your dogs problem soon and can get it solved.

Ok, I have ask for 2 for myself and for anyone looking for a processor I just got off the phone with mine and he said he can handle all the deer anyone needs processed but he only does standard cut. Does not do sausage or anything special. Does do burger if you want burger. He picks up all the deer he processes from Poindexters bait shop on 109 1 mile on left after you cross over the big river bridge in Gallatin where they are kept in a big cooler locker. Locker fee is 10 bucks He processes your deer and takes it back to Poindexters and you can pick it up there when you are notified it is done. They will keep it frozen for you till you pick it up no charge for 8 days. Your cooler limit is also 8 days. If anyone is interested in having him process a deer for you PM me and I will give you his phone number and name. The deer must be dropped off for processing at Poindexters Bait and Tackle which is also a Check in Station and open 6-6 Mon-Sat and 5:30 to 5 on Sunday. Hope this helps folks looking for a processor as they are getting very hard to find....................

I'm betting it Moles. I have them here and they have dug soft spots all over my back yard and front yard and build piles of dirt around the patio concrete. I ended the digging around the patio with a couple gallons of bleach poured around the entire patio about an hour before a rain came and it soaked the bleach into the earth around it. Have not had any new ones in over two years in that area. Don't know if it killed the critters or their food but either way they are gone.............

Ok, now if you folks are really wanting to stop this go out and see just where these nets are being placed. They are not allow to be placed in any area that completely closes off any area to boat traffic such as all the way across the mouth of any coves or all the way across a creek denying boats to pass into the that creek access or travel the creek with your boat. If you find one that denies you access cal the TWRA and report it immediately. That Commercial fisherman will lose his privileges, his nets, boat and maybe event his truck used to take his boat to the lake plus fines to 10 grand. That is the only bad thing I don't like about the TWRA. They don't have boats on our lakes patrolling these lakes for commercial fishing violations. That is why it is so vital that anglers do the patrolling while out fishing as I did with the wild life I found. I was just out fishing when I discovered the birds. Check your local areas and see where the commercial fishermen are allowed to have their nets and time of year they can have them. If you see any nets where they should not be report it. I tried to open up the link to sign the petition but I have a firewall preventing it. If you have another link to the poll please post it.............

Gill nets have been used for may years by commercial fishing industry and as long as they have a license and only place the gill nets in designated areas allowed by TWRA there is really nothing any one can do to prevent it. Back when I was fishing almost daily I would find many gill nets located in areas that were legal according to TWRA . I did have a run in with one commercial fisherman but I was totally within my rights to do what I did and he ended up losing his license over it. This was on Old Hickory lake. I was running down main channel and saw a Loon all tangled in the net and could tell it had been in it quite some time. I stopped and put the trolling motor down and trolled over and took a pair of scissors and had to cut a part of the net about 10 foot square out and then bring the bird on board to care fully get the bird out and release it. (By the way Loons are not very friendly) I finally released the bird and began to continue on my way. Down stream about 1/4 mile I ran up on another net that had a Green Head Mallard all tangled up in the net and I preceded to take the same action again to release the duck. Just about that time the fisherman showed up as I was untangling the duck on the deck of my boat. He was raising all kinds of hell about me destroying an 800.00 net for the sake of a damn bird. I told him if he was with his nets as is required by law I would not have had to cut them. He was getting very irate so I took out my cell phone for which I have TWRA on speed dial and I called them and just so happens they have a boat about 3 miles from my location. He shows up while this guy is reading me the riot act about what he is going to do to me while I am still carefully cutting the duck out of the net on my boat deck. Only one that got arrested was him and his nets were all confiscated by TWRA and he lost his commercial license for 5 years. If you find wild life in any of the gill nets call the TWRA and give them location of the nets and wild life trapped in them. They don't agree with Commercial fisherman and gill netting and will normally respond pretty quick. Just my experience with gill nets..................and my :2cents:

I think I heard from some news source that these particular vests they were wearing was extremely volatile and also extremely unstable and even jumping up and down could set them off. I think they said some of the ingredients could be purchased in department stores and hardware stores. That would make them ever more accessible in my opinion. I agree with Dolo on the fact he was not self taught but taught by a bomb maker prior to his making them in France.................jmho

I have a GoPhone wireless from AT&T and I was having same issue. I removed the device from the modem and them went and removed the program from my desk top and waited 5 minutes and re-downloaded the entire program back into the computer and have not had an issue like I having since. You might just try deleting the program and re installing it again...........just an idea and MHO.
