  1. 2 people dead and 2 people seriously injured over a $25 fee for a gun repair is just ridiculous. What in the world is happening to the way people think these days. I do realize that people have killed for a lot less but this is not a reason for anyone to die or be shot over.............jmho
  2.   I am glad to hear you placed her with a good new owner since she couldn't fit in with your pack. Now as far as her eating a lot and not gaining weight. That is not unusual for Hounds. The larger hounds like Blue Ticks, Red bones and other ones are seldom fat like most folks expect dogs to be since they eat so much. It's in their metabolism not to gain weight.  To see a fat larger hound is very rare regardless of how much they are fed. I know because I use to have both breeds on our ranch and we fed them a ton of food and never had a fat one. Just a tidbit of information about hounds.....................
  3. I have several friends with Foresters and they all brag about them in weather like this and they get decent fuel mileage.........Have never owned one but just talk among friends...............
  4. I used to hate snow except when I had my Ramcharger and then it was fun. I use to go out and play in it back then. Now it does not bother me because I don't have to get out in it as I am retired. Had a buddy cal me yesterday and ask me if I needed anything as his wife is sending him out for a few things. He picked up what I needed and dropped it off but he has a monster 4X4 truck so was like a walk in the park for him...............

  9. I am a Seenager. (Senior teenager)     I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. I have ID that gets me into bars and the wine store.  I like the wine store best.       The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant, they aren’t scared of anything, they have been blessed to live this long, why be scared and I don't have acne. Life is Good! Also, you will feel much more intelligent after reading this, if you are a Seenager.    Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe this also makes you hard of hearing as it puts pressure on your inner ear.  Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full, so too, do humans take longer to access information when their brains are full.  Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for.  It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature's way of making older people do more exercise.                                                     SO THERE!!    I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names.  So, please forward this to your friends; they may be my friends, too.

  12. My store won't ship a firearm but a scope is not a firearm. It could be use like one mentioned. Bird watching scope.............
  13. I got to attend 2 Eagles concerts and both of them were fantastic to say the least.  R.I.P Glenn. I agree with hp and Fourtyfive. Our Music is dying at such a young age only leaving us with memories................

  15. When I have ti ship something like a scope or anything fragile I take the item to UPS Store and let them pack it. They are equip to be able to make sure they pack the item so it is very safe. I use to ship 4 quart jars of Sorghum at a time to my brother and his wife in California. They packed it for about $4.00 and I never had an issue with any jars getting broken................jmho
  16. I have caught several Stripers over 35 lbs during my years of fishing. Caught one over 40lb on  Jig rig on the Sh-t Hole on Old Hickory Lake and I had a good fight for about 25 minutes and I ended up just letting the fish drag the boat till it turned belly up and died from stress and fight. Most of the bigger ones that fight that hard end up dying. Gave the fish to a guy on the bank that was fishing for the table just so it would not go to waste. The guy was sure happy to get it....................
  17. I don't expect anyone is obligated to engage an active shooter unless it would involve protecting my life or life of Loved ones. With that said, I would more than likely if I had a good chance of seeing an opportunity to take down an active shooter that was trying to kill innocent people I would engage the shooter/shooters and hope that there might be a couple more Sheep Dogs at the scene willing to also engage. In most cases the shooters are not expecting someone to be shooting back which does give a Sheepdog an edge. With that said my family and myself comes first and foremost.......................jmho
  18. Well, I began a list a long time ago of places I use to spend my hard earned money that went GUN BUSTER signage and I have not went back to any of them even though several have removed the signs. Once they realized they were costing them customers that is. Once I know their true feelings regarding my rights I will then express my rights by never doing business with them again. For every business with a sign posted, there are 10 stores that sell pretty much the same products without the signs...................jmho
  19. I have a friend that is a K-9 officer up in Robertson County and he had a Doberman for his K-9. About 5 or 6 years ago his partner gave his life protecting my friend from a pistol wheeling drug dealer and jumped in front of him to take the bullets. My friend did kill the bad guy but he lost Jake. He was heart broken because they had been partners for 8 years. I went to see him about a month later and he was getting ready to move off the K-9 division over his grief. At the time I happen to have a friend that was having to give up his Dobie because he was moving into an apartment from a house in a divorce. I asked him if I could have Sadie and he said yes. Sadie was about 10 months old and ready for training to begin.   When I went to visit my friend I had Sadie in my sons Van and we talked for a few minutes and I asked him to help me with something in the van and we walked out and I opened the back doors. She looked at him and he looked at her and then he turned to look at me. I said her name is Sadie and she needs a home. He looked back at her and I saw his eyes swell up and he called to her and she jumped into him arms.   He didn't quit the K-9 force but he didn't use Sadie either. He did train her but he trained her for guard duty at his home in the country to protect his wife and children while he was working. His property if completely cyclone fenced with gates and on the front gate a sign reads "K-9 officer on duty. Enter at your own risk". Anyone that wants to visit him or family calls first. I have seen her about 3 times since I gave her to him. She turned out to be one awesome Doby for sure............
  20. During my years of fishing in tournament competition I caught 19 large mouth bass over 10 lbs and 3 over 11 lbs 3 over 12lbs and 1 over 13lbs. The 12's and 13 were all in the Spring of the year and all were full of eggs to get ready to spawn and I didn't take any of the to the scales because they were all caught during practice so all got released right where they were staging to spawn and all were released healthy and unhurt. In all honesty I doubt I would have taken them to the scales if I caught them in a tournament knowing that spawn would be lost. I was sportsman first and tournament angler second............................   I did win my share of events over the years and did take my share of 10 pounders to the scales but not in the Spring. Was just something about those big green ladies and Spring and my love of the sport that protecting the spawn was more important to me than losing a few bucks and coming in second or third at the scales........
  21. And just how many bears and wild boars are we going to see in grocery store parking lot?........................... :wall: :wall:
  22. SENIOR DRIVING As a senior citizen was driving down the motorway, his car phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him, " Vernon , I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on M25. Please be careful!" "Hell," said Vernon , "It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!"
  23. Two elderly women were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to major crossroad. The stop light was red, but they just went on through. The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself "I must be losing it. I could have sworn we just went through a red light." After a few more minutes, they came to another major junction and the light was red again . Again, they went right through. The woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous. At the next junction, sure enough, the light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred, did you know that we just ran through three red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!" Mildred turned to her and said, "Oh! Am I driving?"
  24. ROMANCE An older couple were lying in bed one night. The husband was falling asleep but the wife was in a romantic mood and wanted to talk. She said: "You used to hold my hand when we were courting." Wearily he reached across, held her hand for a second and tried to get back to sleep. A few moments later she said: "Then you used to kiss me." Mildly irritated, he reached across, gave her a peck on the cheek and settled down to sleep. Thirty seconds later she said: "Then you used to bite my Neck." Angrily, he threw back the bed clothes and got out of bed. "Where are you going?" she asked. "To get my teeth!
  25. I also think the guy was a jerk! I respect all LEO's if they show me respect up front. Asking to see a carry permit is nothing to get so upset about. I have been asked once to show my permit by an officer while pulled over for a seat belt issue in which I was not ticketed for  because I did have my belt buckled up. Just not the shoulder strap. Showed the officer my Drivers license, proof of insurance and carry permit. Officer was very professional and turned me loose and told me to have a nice day..................
