II don't doubt this but I will still put my money on the gun owner if he/she has any practice or training what so ever in confrontation type situations.

My doctor has never had to ask if there are firearms in my home because when I took my coat off in her examining room to get my BP taken she saw mine in my belt holster. She did ask what caliber I was packing and I said 380. She opened up her doctors smock and said mine is 380 also and smiled and went on with the exam. Everyone working in her office has a gun on them except the very elderly lady at the front desk. She paid to have all of her people go through a gun safety course and carry course and she paid 50% of the cost of each persons firearm they chose to carry....................

I have been living with bad mail service for so long I just ignore most of it now. After being in a home small business of making fishing baits and using the post office priority mail to ship my products I was never to surprised but a couple times. One time was when I had a bait customer that lives in Robbinsville NC that called me on a Sunday night panicking because he had run out of a special bait I made for him and he was leaving out Wednesday at 6AM to fish a big tournament in SC and he asked me if I could get them to him before he left and I told him not to worry. He would have the baits. I sat up all Sunday night and had them all packed up in Express Mail package address and at the Post Office at 8 am on Monday. I put the package on the counter and the guy typed in the zip code and told me it was not going to happen over night. I said why not he said that zip code only gets mail delivery 3 times a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I said thanks and picked up the package and headed for UPS Store. I put the package on the counter and asked the clerk how fast they could get that package to that address. He typed in the Zip code and said 7PM tomorrow night and I said guaranteed and he said yep. I said ship it and he put that box in a larger box of theirs and addressed it. I paid $44.00 and then I told the guy that if my friend didn't call me and tell me he got it at 7PM or sooner I was going to come back up there and throw a large brick through the front window. My friend called me at 6:45 Pm and first thing he said was don't throw the brick and I started laughing and he said his wife would send me a a check. Just send her an amount. I had no idea folks only got mail 3 days a week any where in the 21st Century.

Yes and No. She had a 7 year old child in the house and if she is accustom to having children in her home she probably made the decision to not chamber a round. She may have been acting on the side of caution because of the children...........jmho

The 11year old was charged with Murder and found guilty and sentenced to 8 years in prison ( Juvenile Facility) till age 19. He will have a felony charge on his record for his entire life. I have mixed feelings about all of this. I do realized that the Boy was old enough to know what he was doing when he went and got the gun. It is not exactly clear if he handed the gun to a friend or if he was the actual shooter but he was the one that went in the closet and got the gun. Thing about all of this is none of it will bring back the little 8 year old girl. From all the different stories I read on line about this case, is there was bad blood between the 2 children for sometime and her refusal to let the boy pet a puppy seems to be what sparked the whole thing. Children will have these kinds of issues as long as children exist. We can all go back in our childhood memories and remember times we got mad at someone at that age. Guns were much more readily available back then then they are today but we didn't go get a gun and shoot them. Normally a few hours or days later we were back friends again of at least not holding a grudge about it. I have no clue where the answer lays when it comes to children these days and have no intentions of offering any suggestions on how to fix what children do these days. I don't think this law they are proposing will fix anything in regards to children. I do feel that at some point parents must realize that children do kill other children and it is up to adults to look for ways to fix this problem but again laws are not going to do it. This law like someone mentioned in an earlier post, is a reaction law that will only happen after a child has been killed by another. It's like a car insurance policy. They don't make any one a better driver but just pay up after the fact. Regardless of having the most expensive insurance on the market or the cheapest 100's of 1000's of folks die every year in car wrecks. There has been a few good ideas posted about LGS's offering a Gun Lock Box but like in the case above a gun lock box would not have worked. A trigger lock might have worked maybe???? but then another person raised a very good point about kids today being smart enough to figure out ways around lock boxes and locked doors if they want in bad enough. I guess I have gone on long enough so off my soap box now............ :2cents:

I heard about these new laws in news last evening and a lot of it during the discussions in the news was based around a particular case in question as the prime example that makes these laws needed. This particular case was mentioned several times by the news network during the report. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=www.cnn.com%2F2015%2F11%2F25%2Fus%2Ftennessee-girl-killed-over-puppy%2F

I am to dumbfounded to comment on that magnificent piece of equipment other than I would bet ammo would not be an issue because all the enemy would be filling their pants, wetting their pants and trying to become invisible to it. Not to say they would be to scare of it's appearance to stay and fight but.............. :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

I am still stuck on the bayonet topic. Is anyone going to get close enough to a shooter of a Barrett that the shooter would need an 18 inch blade sticking out of the lower end on the barrel? ............just a humble question?

I don't know about Montgomery County but in Cheatham County my Grandson is a jailer and when he is not working at the jail he is packing his Glock and his identification including his real badge and has the same arrest authority as any other deputy on the force.......

I would make this same suggestion to the city of Chicago but I think if the police did any real research they would probably find out that 97% of all the houses up there already have guns in them. I think that is why most shootings up there take place in parks and streets. Kicking a door in up there for home invasion probably would not be a safe thing to do.............jmho

I hope we see more and more of this type of thought spreading across the country. I see nothing negative about it. I like most don't think I would make it mandatory but I would damn sure make it as option for those employees that do choose to carry and be armed as long as they have the proper training and common sense................jmho

Does Mike still own and operate Gorilla Muffler and Exhaust on Nolensville Road? -
I know Bobby's family are not the vindictive type but I do hope they pursue this and have the POS charged with something for sure....jmho

I heard on the news a while ago that Bobby was being moved to a Hospice facility which more or less means the doctors have given up on him. I can say this for sure Bobby is and always will be 1000 times more of a man than that POS that attacked him is or ever will be. Bobby and his family will be in my PRAYERS

I'm waiting till Super Tuesday because in all reality I am still very undecided on who to vote for. I don't know that right now any one of them is going to beat Trump. I don't really want Trump to win because he is to radical in to many areas but according to most polls every time he goes radical his numbers grow. Is that really what the American people want as a President is a radical in the White House? (A loose cannon so to say) I also fear that if Cruz gets it that if a challenge is made by Democrats as to his eligibility and it's gets into the courts with a 4-4 with Scalia gone can Cruz get disqualified? So many factors I just don't know!!!.......... :wall: :wall:

I also knew the victim in this as I use to live in Kingston Springs for many years and son still does. I wish him the best and hope he is able to come back from the stroke but his age is going to be against him I'm afraid. I keep my Jeep doors locked while I am in it driving. I also have a Bersa in a holster beside my seat. It goes there when I get in the jeep and goes in my wear holster when I get out. God Have mercy on any bad guy that tries to open my door because I will have none for them...................

When Dale Earnhardt died a piece of NASCAR died. My son was a Earnhardt nut and he spent 4 grand on a Dale Earnhardt Mac Tool Box and keeps it covered in a corner of the shop all covered up with a Dale Earhart logo on the cover. He bought the box 3 years before Dales death and about a year after Dale died he had a guy offer him 8 Grand for it and he called me and ask me if I thought he should sell it and I said it's not eating anything and it can only go up in value as long as Dale Junior is still racing and keeping the name in front of fans. I told him when the offers went 10 grand or more sell it cash only. I also told him to add that box value to the Shop Keepers Insurance policy as a collectors Item and he insured it for $10,000.00. Now as far as NASCAR to this day and will be a fan till the day I die. I spent 14 years racing at Nashville Speedway, Smyrna Speedway and Highland Rim and once in a while in Birmingham. I still have the feel of Burnt Rubber and hot gear oil in my veins Most all my friends are Gordon, Johnson, Earnhardt, Legano Fans. My driver has been Rowdy Kyle Busch ever since the first time I saw him drive and I knew he would be a champion one day but didn't expect it to be last year after his injury at Daytona. When NASCAR offered him that deal that he could still race his way in and he won his first race back and it was a road course with all that shifting with those sore legs I knew right then he was going for the gld and he brought the gold home. Now as far as cookie cutter cars that's all the Auto manufacturers are giving them to work with. It's not NASCAR, it's the lack of skill in the designing at the Auto Makers. I was a mechanic for almost 35 years and I could tell you what make and model a car was from 1/4 mile away back years ago. Today, unless I', parked next to it and can read the name on it I have no clue what it is. I listen to police everyday say that the bad guy got a way in a black car, possibly a Chevy Malibu, or Toyota Camry but it might have been a Honda Accord. They cannot tell them apart any more either. Like I said I will be a die hard fan till they are shoveling dirt in my face and Kyle and maybe even Kurt will be my two drivers. They both drive like a Young Dale Sr. did that earned him the name "The Intimidator" Kyle was not afraid to use his bumper from time to time on slower cars after he would bump them a few times letting them know he was faster. Now that is one place that NASCAR has hurt the sport. It use to be "Rubbing was racing!" Now if you rub a little to much your parked for a few weeks. To me that's a crock...........................jmho
