Stupid people giving it hand outs is probably why it is still hanging around in such a populated area. No food and it would find it's way back into the woods where it belongs. I have a couple friends that had a bear hanging around their homes and they decided to send it back into the woods. Every time is showed up at one of their homes they sent it packing with a string of fire crackers. After about a week it was gone, never came back. Black bears for the most part spook fairly easily compared to brown bears.

I'm just glad he didn't get to use it before he got stopped. It is a shame to see a Mustang in that poor shape. They are a fine 380 weapon..........................jmho

At this point I honestly don't think that the rioters that come from outside the shooting area really care about facts. They come there to cause trouble and facts don't count. This will continue as long as it is tolerated by the people with the power to stop it step up and say enough is enough and begin arresting the trouble makers as soon as they arrive..........jmho

How many times has the news ever reported that a hispanic has gone into a mall and started a shooting spree just shooting people at random? Then how many times has an islamic terrorist walked in and done it? I myself have never heard of a hispanic doing it but maybe someone else has.............jmho

They were just talking about Clowns just popping up out of no where in peoples yards and near walk ways near woooded areas on the News. One report of a teenager being cut on the arm by one that ran past him. A few sheriffs have commented that many people are deathly afraid of clowns and it is only a matter of time before someone shoots one of them. They are recommending that the clowns stop before some one does shoot one. The news also said that clowns are a popular Halloween costume but it is recommended that if you wear one this year it will be at your own risk...........

First off Prayers for your terrible loss to you and your wife. I know there are never any words to take away the pain a family goes through in these type of situations. Being a vet from Nam I have seen first hand how the Federal Government feels about taking care of our great men and women in our military. I was fortunate enough to be able to secure employment that made it where I never had to depend on VA for medical services but have many friends that do and they tell me all the horror stories about how they are treated by the VA. I learned one thing about the Federal Government while serving and after coming home. That is the Federal Government looks at all military personnel as expendable assets and they are treated accordingly. NO man or woman that serves this country in our military is expendable. They are all important just as your son was also. Again, Prayers will be shared every night for you and your family.

Alabama, Georgia declare state of emergency after pipeline spill
bersaguy replied to Grand Torino's topic in General Chat
Back when I was an Exxon dealer with my own Service Station our fuel prices were controlled by the Feds. I had my location during the fuel embargo. I was told how much fuel I would recieve during that month based on what I sold the year previously. I have a few friends that owned filling station/markets in later years and the rules on gas pricing was a lot different. When ever I received a tank wagon of fuel 8,000 gallons I wrote a check for it when it went in the ground. It was my fuel but the feds could tell me what I could sell it for. In later years as my friends began owning their own Filling Station/Markets the feds got out of the pricing business to a great extent as lawsuits were flying. It was said to be illegal for the Federal Government to tell a business owner what he could charge for a product he/she sold. If the business owner paid for the fuel when it was delivered that fuel became his property and he could resell it at what ever proce he/she wanted to. That is why you will see so many Mom&Pop locations fuel prices are higher or lower than chain out fits or company stores Like BP and Exxon Tiger markets are priced almost exactly the same. Mapco is also considered a company because they also have the own oil and own refineries. The Feds still control the company operations on fuel prices but not the Mom&Pops. Things have changed a lot since I owned my service station back in the mid 70's to late 70's. -

I don't know if folks in E TN are listening to the news, but the Knoxville and east folks don't really need to worry so much. There is an entirely different pipeline that supplies that area with all their fuel needs including gasolene. It is middle Tennesse west that has the real issue. I am not worried because I have been on keep fill since back when gad was almost 4 bucks a gallon and have not changed. It's alot easier on the pocket book if you fill up on 1/2 tank than empty tank. On the 12th of each month I take my jeep and how ever many gas cans I may need and make my trip to kroger and use my fuel points to get 35 gallons of fuel. Since my son in law is buying all the boat gas now I use less. I can fill my jeep and got a month most times without ever needed to use any of the cans but I do every three months just to rotate it out with fresh fuel. during the winter months when I go less I put stabil in the cans before filing them up. When a person lives on a fixed income this works quite well unless a person keeps the highways hot.........................jmho -
I wear a watch all the time but more for the day and date than the time. Comes in handy for keeping appointments than any thing else. Last one I bought cost $14.00 at Walgreens 12 years ago.

I think he has already made his bed and now he will have to lay in it. If the 49's drop him I would guess his football career is over because only a very stupid team would ever sign him again. It would be poison for that team............jmho

Thats funny right there but you are not the only one with doves in your yard.......... I have a flock that has camped out in my back yard for past 2 weeks. I feed the birds around here twice a day and I have a gravel driveway around the back of my house and every morning and evening there is about 25 to 30 doves eating on the driveway and then they go about a mile down to a creek for water and come back and roost in the loplolly pine trees in my neighbors yard. They have found a safe zone here..............lol.

I began hunting small game such as squirrels and rabbits at age 8 when my parents bought me my first shotgun for Christmas. It was a single shot 4.10 and my Uncle Teen took me hunting and taught me all about gun safety and how to hunt. I hunted small game and in later years big game like deer but never lost my love for small game until I got to old to make the long walks in the woods. Then as some have mentioned, finding land to hunt is almost impossible without driving many miles. I did pass down hunting to both of my sons and they have continued the tradition to their sons. I did go a few times last year with my sons youngest boy that came along late in years for them and he is now 10 years old. He is a good shot and he managed to bag 5 squirrels while grandpa got 2. We took them back to the house and he had them cleaned and ready for the freezer in about 20 minutes. If I really wanted some squirrel I have about 20 here in my yard every day cause I feed them all winter with 6 squirrel feeders and I have a pellet rifle that makes almost zero noise but I enjoy watching them to much to shoot them. Would be like shooting pets as I have been feeding them for about 12 years now. I do think I am going to try a deer hunt this year as I have not been since 1990 but 10 year old grandson has invited me to go and my sons land has plenty of deer on it. His older brother and he planted some deer plots last Spring and I think I will give it a try since he has an ATV for me to use and it's only about 400 yards from his house through the woods on well made ATV trails.

Thats funny right there but glad the Chow didn't get to you enough before you got the mask off. This reminds me of back years ago when I was getting ready for Halloween and putting on my Grim Reaper make up to hand out candy that evening. My daughter and wife was going to be taking my grandchildren around the neighborhood. All the time I was putting my make up on my oldest grandson was watching me. Later that evening he was made up as batman when they arrived at our house. He would run up and knock and when the people would open the door he would yell out "I'm Batman" and people would give him candy and he would move to next house. Now take into consideration he knew that ths was poppaws house and was excited to say "I'm Batman when I opened the door. Well, he knocked and when the Grim Reaper opened the door He said I'm Batman and then the words OH NO!!! came out of his mouth and he clear the 3 steps of the porch in one leap and went running to my daughter and wife and hid behind them. They tried about 3 times to get him to go back and get his candy but he was having none of that. Later that night he had forgot about it and after they were done getting candy they came back to the house and came in and he saw me and this time instead of running he just stood there and peep his pants and It took about 5 minutes of me taking my makeup off to convince him it was poppaw. I did have a little problem giving candy away that night...........

Medical marijuana = no gun purchase

I think the Feds are just looking for another way to gain more gun controls. I bet half or more of the Feds wanting the law probably smoke it themselves..............jmho -
I think if someone is going to be flying one of these toys over a persons property they should be required to get that property owners permission or expect that this may very well happen to their toy also. Just because they have the money to buy these expensive toys does not give them the right to make a pest of themselves and disturb the property owners in that area............jmho
