I think she has always been a class act and has always been a generous person when she sees a need for something that needs doing..............jmho

I think the main issue is that folks in East Tennessee and other surrounding states that stretch from the Smokies through the Applachian mountain chain are not as use to facing a forest fire as the people out west are. We seldom have drought conditions as bad as this year and tey have been facing these conditions in the west for many years so they know more how to plan on escape routes. Last time we had conditions close to these was 2013 when they did have a few fires in the Smokie Mountain Park but were contained quickly. I think in 2013 we also had the La'Nin'a weather system in the Pacific which is a dry warm weather system.

I think it is a total shame that this is happening. I heard when the fires were first discovered that they said many of them were arson. If that is true I hope they catch who ever did this and make a real example of them to discourage any of this in the future.............jmho

Maybe they will get some of this rain we are getting which should help some. Can only hope!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the folks and folks families on TGO. Good advice David and thanks for another great year here on TGO. I plan on staying home with the mutt as I hate traveling on holidays. I'm sure family will stop in and see me as they always do and they always bring food. Some edible some not so much but I never tell them that. I don't want the edible stuff to stop coming...................

Back when I was growing up before moving south at age 17 we never had turkey. I was an avid hunter at a very young age and my state always had an early Goose season and I was responsible for our dinner bird and every year we ate goose. Sometime a Canada goose and sometime it was a Snow goose but goose was on our table. When we moved to the Ranch/Farm with my grand father the Thanksgiving dinner most times was a country ham out of Grandfathers smoke house with all the trimmings. Like some have mentioned my family was not much on turkey so when I had my own family it was a country with all the trimmings. Love the smell of a ham slow cooking all night in the oven. Makes the whole house smell great.............jmho

Those countries have never been known for their intelligence and selling the firearms probably would have only made the War Lords stronger over there. All the money in those countries are in the hands of a few and most villages are starving to death while the War Lords live like kings. I watch those commercials all the time about all of the starving children over there and they recieve zero help from the few in power. Back many years ago there was this big plan for farmers here to send them corn for planting and American farmers sent tons of corn to the poor villages. Did they plant the corn? No, they ate it. I saw a commercial recently asking for people to donate money to buy a goat for a poor family over there and the family would have fresh milk for the children and the family could sell off any extra milk. I would guess that 95% of the goats sent got ate by the starving families........that is just a guess but if they ate the corn that they should have planted they would also eat the goat. It is a shame that all those children are starving but you can't help people that don't or won't help themselves...................JMHO

Well, since I am not smart enough to really understand what the video is actually trying to say I do know that when I saw the words politically correct that was enough to where it didn't really matter. Those kids are just being brainwashed as normal by any type of politically correct leftist group and that is how many teachers teach these days. I thank GOD that my daughter in law got her teaching degree and she home taught all of my grand children and will begin teaching the great grand children soon as they are old enough.......................

Back about 8 years ago I was selling a Mac 10 with 2 magazines and a buyer from Minnesota was the buyer and I shipped it to an FFL dealer of his choice once I received payment and transfere was smooth with no issues. Only problem with all was I had to drive about 40 miles to ship it because UPS has a rule that only a main hub can ship firearms,. Local stores and branch hubs cannot ship them.......................

World record whitetail taken in Sumner County
bersaguy replied to bud's topic in Hunting and Fishing
In all honesty back when I was deer hunting I let some really big racks walk right past me. I counted several over the years sporting 14 to 16+ and never dropped a round at any of them. But let me say I am not and never been a trophy hunter and do not have a mount on my wall of a big deer or a big fish. I have always been a meat hunter. I don't fault anyone for having wall mounts. My son and Grand sons have about 12 or more deer mounts on their walls. I like the tasty ones more than the wall ones........jmho -

I had a member give me 1 last year and it was very much appreciated. I can't get out and hunt them any more due to health but ain't to proud to beg................
