  1. I think I could have got them done sooner if I trusted them to use a scalpel (Knife) to do my surgery but the thought of a guy regardless of how good cutting on my eye was not something I wanted to think about so I am saving up to get Lasik surgery. Actually I'm saving up the difference between what Medicare will pay and what they charge to do Lasik Surgery. I had a friend have his done last month and he went under the knife and said it was piece of cake and hardests part for him was the darn drops that needed to be put in his eyes before and after. He had both his done 2 weeks apart and stopped by yesterday and said he wished he had got it done sooner. If I decide to go with the Knife, Medicare will pay it all and if I should need reading glasses after wards they pay for the first pair but everyone that I know that has had it does not need glasses. That is one reason why I have not been to the range in last couple months. Last time I went with my new glasses my O.D. doctor made for me I was still good and on target for the 10 yard range but a little off at 15 yards so decided I would not go back till after I had the surgery.
  2. Thanks Randall53 for covering my bad eyesight. Back when I first came here OS jumped me for yelling because I was using large type but he has not brought it up recently. I have the magnifier on to read most of the posts but can't use it to type. I am hoping to get my cataracs removed in the Fall but right now I am just saving up to be able to get both done. I know a lot of folks that will get 1 done and then wait sometimes a year or more to get the second one done. I'm planning on getting them both done 2 weeks apart and get it behind me.
  3. I have owned 2 of those and would love to own another. I am still trying to figure out why I sold the last one I had other than just plain stupid. The last one I had worked great and shot great and hit what I was aiming at. It would eat about any ammo you fed it and never failed. I love the lemon squeezer grip. It makes you hold the gun more firmly. If you decide your going to keep it I will give you the name of a company that will make you magazines for it. I searched far and wide for some back ups and none to be found but I had 3 backs up made and was not to costly like I was expecting it would be. Should you decide you want to part with it sometime let me know cause I would be interested it getting it........
  4. You got that right. Back when I was a youngster about 14 years old a buddy and I use to shoot trap at a local gun club we could walk to from our homes and back then it was $2.00 to shoot a round plus the shells and my buddy and I worked for neighbors doing odd jobs to get the money to afford to do it. When we could not make any money we would go and watch. He and his sons both shoot still up there and I think it costs about 8 bucks no per round but he does his own reloading so saves on the ammo costs. He and his two sons chip in to buy the reloading supplies and work together on the reloading. Last time I spoke with him he was still using the Mec 600 reloader he bought back in the 1960's.
  5. That is why I never plan on attending any of these type of events. My pockets are very shallow and I don't want to get blown up by some idiot wearing a vest full of ball bearings and something that makes it go pop that will be standing in a crowd waiting to get in and desides it's time to go get his virgins!! Yea I am kinda of a pessimist about some things and thats just one of them.
  6. I found this while researching the Ascend Ampitheater and found it interesting. If you read it carefully you will find that it is located within the Riverfront Park complex which makes it part of the park. That means it cannot be operated by a private operator by law..........JMHO The Ascend Amphitheater was unveiled during a media conference today in Nashville. “Harmonizing the Ascend brand with Nashville’s beautiful new amphitheater is paramount to achieving our strategic intent of being recognized as Nashville’s credit union,” Ascend Federal Credit Union President and CEO Caren Gabriel said. In the heart of the new Riverfront Park development along the Cumberland River, the Ascend Amphitheater is expected to accommodate 6,800 people. It will host various forms of entertainment – from concerts to comedy shows – and it will be the summer home of the Nashville Symphony. The 12-acre park will be open daily on non-event days and will include trails, a dog park and gardens. The amphitheater is slated for completion this summer.
  7. Over the past few days folks have been asking if they can carry here or carry there and it appears that the answer seems to be no in most cases. If you look at many of the places that have been posted with GUN Buster signs most of them have been or are similar to many places that terrorists have struck at one time or another. Any place were crowds gather such as sporting events like to soccer games in Paris to a bar in Florida. Big or small but all gun free. It is beginning to appear that if anyone wants to take the family to what is advertised for families they must do so at their own risk unprotected. At some point I wonder what it will take for these people that are running these events or operating these businesses are going to realize that they are making themselves and their patrons targets for terrorists. Don't these people that are in charge of these places realize that bad guys don't live by the same rules that law abiding people do. How many times does a business have to be robbed or attacked with loss of life before they learn that GUN BUSTER signs welcome violence...........jmho
  8. I was always curious about the duo of Bonnie and Clyde and was curious and to what type of guns they preferred. I new Clyde was fond of the BAR as a long gun and Bonnie was a shot gun person in long guns. I have seen several movie remakes of the story of Bonnie and Clyde but after doing some research was very surprised to find out that there was no Tommy guns used when they killed Bonnie and Clyde like in the movies. It was later stated that Bonnie and Clyde were both actally killed by the same rifle calibre and very possibly the same shooter. Here is a link that tells the story behind the Remington 8 rifle used. http://jamesdjulia.com/item/lot-1170-historic-remington-model-8-rifle-used-to-kill-bonnie-and-clyde-57943/
  9. I went to a Dave and Busters back many years ago that was a free standing one in Hermitage Tennessee. I looked and I don't see it anymore and the only one showing up in Nashville is at Opry Mills. I have been to Opry Mills exactly 3 times since is was built. Once I went there because I was riding with friends and they decided to go to BPS. @nd time was to go see a movie in the IMAX theater cause it was at the time the only one in town and the last time was while on a date and we stopped in at TGI Fridays for dinner. That was all over 10 years ago. I have heard so many things about the crime from the hoodies at the Mills that there is no way I would go unarmed and if I was denied entry I would just leave. You mentioned taking the family out for some fun. You may want to try this place! My son in law and daughter take the grand children there quite often and they say it is great. Use to bowl there and did carry concealed but that was also years ago. Don't know policy now. http://hendersonville.strikeandspare.com/circus-world
  10. Yep, the Mayor of Nashville thinks pretty much like most in her party when it comes to obeying laws. You have to obey her laws but she does not have to obey the rank and file people above her that hand down laws at the state level.............JMHO
  11. Every thing I have found on them is the Home Company has a CCW policy but I have also seen some posts about some of them having metal detectors at the doors and Gun Buster signs up. I guess it is being left up to the managers of each location to make the call on how they handle it. I guess you won't know till you arrive there to see what that manager has done...............JMHO

    N-Range

Yea, it was hit in January 2016. All but 2 of the weapons were recovered within a day or 2 and one of the bad guys was captured. They have not caught anyone involved in the 1st one in Hendersonville last year and not caught any one in this most recent one..............I bet their insurance is going to go through the roof since they seem to not be able to secure their locations properly............jmho
  13. I think the politics section has also be deleted if I am not mistaken...............
  14. I think the only thing they may question is he shot the bad guy twice in the back. Other than that I don't think they would have much if any of a case. He was questioned and released shortly after the incident.

    N-Range

Saw on local news this morning that the N-Range Gun Store in Hendersonville was hit again last night in a smash and grab breakin. They said the bad guys smashed the from glass, entered the store and smashed the glass gun cases, grabbed what they could and got away. I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time this gun store has been hit in recent years. They said they did not have a total yet of how many guns they made away with. Evidently the owners of this location have not done anything to improve their security knowing that they are a prime target in a prime location for this to happen..............jmho
  16. I think a lot of it will be determind if the Attorney General in Oklahoma is a liberal or not as to whether they will get a grand jury indictment against him. It is pitiful when an elected official will put his election before the lives of 2 babies and a man doing the right thing by saving their lives.
  17. I think most anyone one this site would have acted much in the same way. I know I would have and took my chances with a jury of 12 if I was charged. I don't even see why this is even being considered for charges. The guy was not only trying to kill the 2 babies but was armed with a butcher knife. Clear case of Self defense along with stopping a double homicide. Like Bigun said Mayor should pin a metal on him for being a hero..............JMHO
  18. It has been said Stupid is as Stupid does so this is just a prime example of it. When they won't even sell them to the officers that once carried the weapon that tells you how much they trust their own police officers to do what is right. The tax payers will not only have to pay for the destruction of the old guns but pay for all the New Glocks that are replacing the Smith's. Now I know why Obama likes Hawaii so much! They think just like he does!!!
  19. If it was changed from a park to an Ampitheater and is not under the control of the city any longer then the people of Nashville need to find out why it was not brought up and announced to the people before it was changed from a city park to a private operation if it was sold to the people of Nashville as a public park. As far as Manchester goes, they probably just don't enforce them and will take them down eventually. I have a few friends down that way and they carry in all the parks down there now with no issues.
  20. Back when I first moved to this location I decided I would plant a garden and a buddy of mine tilled a plot about 60X80 feet with his tractor and tiller and he chopped it up so good it took about 10 minutes with a rake and it was ready to make rows and begin planting. I had never had a garden but my father had a very green thumb and could grow anything. I went with the basic stuff. Tomatos, Squash in 2 kinds, Banana peppers, Jalapeno peppers, Cucumbers, Okra, and put a small hill of watermelons in and they vined all over the yard that surrounder the garden on one side. Got about 25 melons of the plants that year. At the time I did have a lady friend that helped me tend it and I guess some of my father passed down to me cause I had enough veggies to give the neighbors a bunch. There was a eldely gentleman two doors down from me and he put a garden in also and I would watch him till his ground and it was very hard on him so when I got my buddy to till mine I got him to till the old gentlemans while he was here. He grew a few different veggies than I did so we did some trading. He had corn and Green beans that he planted so they would vine up his corn stalks which I thought was cool. I vined my cucumbers up a piece of lattus I put on the outer edge of the garden and they grew up it just fine. Each year for about 5 years I expanded my garden space and the last year it was about 100x140 and I planted more stuff like Califlower and Brocolli which was a colder weather plants and needed to be planted when it was cooler but it worked and I began putting a bunch of stuff up in canning jars. Daughter and neighbor ladies helped with that along with freezing some stuff. I did enjoy it a lot but it got to much for me so after about 6 years I never put another one it. Now I just have a few patio pots for tomatos and a few pepper plants and anything I can grow in patio tubs. The old gentleman passed away but one thing he left for me that last year was after his garden was done he said he wished he felt like tilling it up so he could put in a crop of Turnip Greens so I got my buddy to come down and till up his garden and he sat there beside the garden in a chair and directed me how to sow turnip green seeds and I had a small field of Turnip greens that Fall and Winter but lost him before they came into picking size. I picked some every day of so for his wife and she canned them so she would have them and I gave her veggies from my garden. Sorry for the long post but just remembering some of the good times......................
  21. What someone should have done is go and try to buy the gun and request a background check form to run a back ground check and then when he could not provide one ,call the police and tell them some guy it trying to sell a gun at a lemonade stand and give them the address. Then stand back and watch!!
  22. If the law in the state of Tennessee states that if you have a legal carry permit and you can carry it in a location such as this I would carry if I planned on attending it. It's about time the envelope is pushed to show these people that the state law trumps their postings. If folks keep backing down what good is the law? I carry is several parks around Gallatin that were or are posted when I take Kasey out to the park to let her run around some where pets are allowed.
  23. It will probably be the best investment you make in sometime. I love mine.........
  24. Ok, finally took the time yesterday to learn how to use my new toy. Took me about 10 minutes to figure it out but once I did I instantly fell in love with it. I unloaded all my magazines and let the mag springs rest and today I loaded them back and it was so easy it spoiled me and I wish I would have got one of these years ago. I will give them 5 stars and would give 10 if I could..............
  25. I'm surprised they were wrestling and not shooting each other. It seems that punch things out are just not the way to do things for young people any more......JMHO
