Man saves 2 babies from being drowned. By their father.
bersaguy replied to Randall53's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think the only thing they may question is he shot the bad guy twice in the back. Other than that I don't think they would have much if any of a case. He was questioned and released shortly after the incident. -
Saw on local news this morning that the N-Range Gun Store in Hendersonville was hit again last night in a smash and grab breakin. They said the bad guys smashed the from glass, entered the store and smashed the glass gun cases, grabbed what they could and got away. I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time this gun store has been hit in recent years. They said they did not have a total yet of how many guns they made away with. Evidently the owners of this location have not done anything to improve their security knowing that they are a prime target in a prime location for this to happen..............jmho

I think a lot of it will be determind if the Attorney General in Oklahoma is a liberal or not as to whether they will get a grand jury indictment against him. It is pitiful when an elected official will put his election before the lives of 2 babies and a man doing the right thing by saving their lives. -

I think most anyone one this site would have acted much in the same way. I know I would have and took my chances with a jury of 12 if I was charged. I don't even see why this is even being considered for charges. The guy was not only trying to kill the 2 babies but was armed with a butcher knife. Clear case of Self defense along with stopping a double homicide. Like Bigun said Mayor should pin a metal on him for being a hero..............JMHO -
What a waste - Hawaii destroying old issue guns
bersaguy replied to Ronald_55's topic in General Chat
It has been said Stupid is as Stupid does so this is just a prime example of it. When they won't even sell them to the officers that once carried the weapon that tells you how much they trust their own police officers to do what is right. The tax payers will not only have to pay for the destruction of the old guns but pay for all the New Glocks that are replacing the Smith's. Now I know why Obama likes Hawaii so much! They think just like he does!!! -
If it was changed from a park to an Ampitheater and is not under the control of the city any longer then the people of Nashville need to find out why it was not brought up and announced to the people before it was changed from a city park to a private operation if it was sold to the people of Nashville as a public park. As far as Manchester goes, they probably just don't enforce them and will take them down eventually. I have a few friends down that way and they carry in all the parks down there now with no issues.

Back when I first moved to this location I decided I would plant a garden and a buddy of mine tilled a plot about 60X80 feet with his tractor and tiller and he chopped it up so good it took about 10 minutes with a rake and it was ready to make rows and begin planting. I had never had a garden but my father had a very green thumb and could grow anything. I went with the basic stuff. Tomatos, Squash in 2 kinds, Banana peppers, Jalapeno peppers, Cucumbers, Okra, and put a small hill of watermelons in and they vined all over the yard that surrounder the garden on one side. Got about 25 melons of the plants that year. At the time I did have a lady friend that helped me tend it and I guess some of my father passed down to me cause I had enough veggies to give the neighbors a bunch. There was a eldely gentleman two doors down from me and he put a garden in also and I would watch him till his ground and it was very hard on him so when I got my buddy to till mine I got him to till the old gentlemans while he was here. He grew a few different veggies than I did so we did some trading. He had corn and Green beans that he planted so they would vine up his corn stalks which I thought was cool. I vined my cucumbers up a piece of lattus I put on the outer edge of the garden and they grew up it just fine. Each year for about 5 years I expanded my garden space and the last year it was about 100x140 and I planted more stuff like Califlower and Brocolli which was a colder weather plants and needed to be planted when it was cooler but it worked and I began putting a bunch of stuff up in canning jars. Daughter and neighbor ladies helped with that along with freezing some stuff. I did enjoy it a lot but it got to much for me so after about 6 years I never put another one it. Now I just have a few patio pots for tomatos and a few pepper plants and anything I can grow in patio tubs. The old gentleman passed away but one thing he left for me that last year was after his garden was done he said he wished he felt like tilling it up so he could put in a crop of Turnip Greens so I got my buddy to come down and till up his garden and he sat there beside the garden in a chair and directed me how to sow turnip green seeds and I had a small field of Turnip greens that Fall and Winter but lost him before they came into picking size. I picked some every day of so for his wife and she canned them so she would have them and I gave her veggies from my garden. Sorry for the long post but just remembering some of the good times......................

What someone should have done is go and try to buy the gun and request a background check form to run a back ground check and then when he could not provide one ,call the police and tell them some guy it trying to sell a gun at a lemonade stand and give them the address. Then stand back and watch!!

If the law in the state of Tennessee states that if you have a legal carry permit and you can carry it in a location such as this I would carry if I planned on attending it. It's about time the envelope is pushed to show these people that the state law trumps their postings. If folks keep backing down what good is the law? I carry is several parks around Gallatin that were or are posted when I take Kasey out to the park to let her run around some where pets are allowed.

Ok, finally took the time yesterday to learn how to use my new toy. Took me about 10 minutes to figure it out but once I did I instantly fell in love with it. I unloaded all my magazines and let the mag springs rest and today I loaded them back and it was so easy it spoiled me and I wish I would have got one of these years ago. I will give them 5 stars and would give 10 if I could.............. -
I'm surprised they were wrestling and not shooting each other. It seems that punch things out are just not the way to do things for young people any more......JMHO

This reminds me of my grandfather back many years ago. We had goats on the ranch and he called them lawn mowers. He kept them a in a field west of the front yard of the house and had a gate in the fence leading from the field to the front yard and once a about every 2 weeks he would get someone to let the goats in the front yards for about a week and they would cut it down to the ground and then he would have them put back in the field. I offer to cut the grass so we didn't have goats in the front yard but he was having none of that. He said thats what goats are for and there was no arguing with Grandfather. Be surprised what about 20 goats can do to a 1 acre yard.

Stuff like that happens daily in Nashville, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. Gallatin has been in the news more in the last year than it was in the 1st 16 years I lived here for violent crimes. I agree OS, anyone one of those things could be a motive for a crime but recently in Nashville it is 14 and 15 year old kids killing each other so I am figuring gang related but could be wrong. Just know I don't walk to my mail box any more with out a gun...............JMHO

I'm just thrilled they got the Ba-tard before he got to actually fullfil his dream. Maybe Big Bubba will fill his dream for him in Prison.................. -
I will say this. I attended another concert which was 1 nighter and it was just before I lost my wife and it was the last one we got to attend together and it was probably the one I remember the most. It was right here in Nashville at Starwood. It was almost not announced and it was just filling a void they had but it was Lynyrd Skynyrd Marshal Tucker performing a Concert. Starwood had a cancellation on a show and they stepped up to fill the void since they were between concerts. There was several stars that just showed up to join in and when they thought they had closed the show the crowd would not leave and we all kept protesting that we were not leaving not leaving till they performed FREE BIRD. They finally came back out on stage and performed it and did it is style for about 10 solid minutes. No it was not a Woodstock but it remains in my mind like it was yesterday..................

I guess I should be as excited as many other people but I don't plan on making any extra plans to go out of my way to see it. If I can view it from my yard fine, I might take a few minutes to do so but other than that I will watch it on the news.....JMHO

There are a lot of unanswered questions to this for sure. I read everything in the news release and not one thing was mentioned about the man that sent him the plane ticket and offered to buy him a car when he arrived in Knoxville other than what the family member mentioned. No name was mentioned at all. It would seem he might be at least a person of interest?.............JMHO

I have a ammo site on one of my old computers that I will try and find later that had about any and all knds of shotgun ammo a person could want. They had ammo that would do more damage then some IED's. One I saw that was interesting was you could shoot completely through a car with it in the 3 inch Magnum version and kill who ever was on the other side if they were not protected by the engine. Myself, I have never seen a need for that type of stuff but I am sure some people are. I'm happy with my 3 inch mags in 00 buck or BB shot.

Well if you want to talk about festivals that are not just music related I went to an ICAST Fishing show in Vegas about 12 years ago and they said the 5 day attendance to that event alone was between 350,000 and 400,000 paid admissions. I didn't make this post to argue about how many shows are bigger or smaller. I was just curious to see if there happened to be any WoodStockers here besides me?

Report provides details from San Bernardino shooting
bersaguy replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The suspects were not great shots, thank god. Of the 81 rounds they fired at police, only 1 hit an officer. He lived. They were not bad shots at the Christmas Party, reason being they were shooting and killing defenseless people. That was alot different when they have incoming hot lead. It kind of makes it a lot harder to hit your target when your dodging hot incoming lead. It does sound like the police officers do need more range time but it also sounds like the bad guys didn't stop shooting after they had been hit if they each we shot 15 times before they went down. -
It was all over WLS radio out of Chicago and the DJ's were pumped about it.

There have been many concerts larger than Woodstock. I won't argue that fact but there has never been 1 to have that many attend a multi performer festival which is not a concert. Woodstock was actually scheduled for a 3 day event but had to be extended a 4th day to get all the performers in. In 1994 Neil Diamond had a concert at Copacabana Beach that had 3.5 million but it was 1 day event. Garth Brooks had 750,000 at a concert in Central park in New York but yet again it was a 1 day concert. Simon and Garfunkle also had a concert in Central Park NY and had 500,000 but again it was a 1 day concert. They had big crowds for 1 day not 400,000 for 4 days like Woodstock. Can you post the name of the Festival you plan on attending that will surpass Woodstocks attendance in a few weeks?

That is a disorder that most gun enthusiast have to some extent. If I had the pocket book some folks have I would buy more and I am glad I don't..........

Yep, you had a Rolls Royce of Home Entertainment Centers of that era for sure. My folks had a Magnavox I think but not sure anymore what it was. I know it was a big and took up half of one wall in their living room and very heavy to move..........
