  1. I have to agree about old men. They did not get old by being stupid.............JMHO
  2. It appears that many judges think they write the laws. California and Hawaii seem to be full of judges that feel that way. Before long I think the Supreme Court will be setting a bunch of these judges straight on just what their jobs are and if they cannot follow them they can be removed since they are not elected by the people...............JMHO
  3. Yea I did read that and we out and bought 2 of the large Brita water filter pitchers with about 10 extra filter kits for them in case I did have to use the water after a long period of time I can dump it through the Brita units and it says it will purify it to about 90% and 90% is better than 0% any day. I am looking at trying to find a plastic barrel capable of catching and holding rain water also. I know it would have to be boiled but still would be a good source of water in a real emergency.
  4. Happy Birthday America!!!!!!....................
  5. I have 5 cases of 20 oz bottles that i have had about 4 years now and have not got 1 leak in those yet. I'm not going to buy any more of the gallons and the ones I have I will start using to make coffee with each morning. It does make better coffee than tap water does.
  6. Even if you buy the ones filled with water at the store? If so I will go back to buying the 20oz bottles by the case.
  7. I know they have all of them buckets of emergency food you can buy but I would rather trust what I buy. Yea I began putting non parishable food items back about 3 years ago a little along and I rotate the stock of many things from time to time, Someone mentioned dairy products. I have probably 25 boxes of powdered milk and 3 cases of Canned evaporated milk that I do rotate out periodcally. I also have probably 40 boxes of Instant potatoes and spices which have a long shelf life like salt, pepper etc. Tuna and canned chicken is also something folks can store and rotate from time to time as it is all dated and easy to rotate out. I probably have enough to last 6 to 8 months of food items. Water is one thing I have been stocking up on recently. I was buying cases of 20 oz bottles and stacking them up 4 high and recently I found it is cheaper to buy it in gallon jugs so now buying gallons a few at a time. Now I will mention one more thing and I know there are many people that probably planned on this but if you have pets you might want to make sure you put back food items for them also as they are family too....................JMHO No shortage of ammo in any caliber I have a gun either.
  8. I have been pondering this for a month or so and thought I would throw it out there. I do order a few things in the way of food items but mostly snack foods but as I have been observing more and more people are doing a lot more grocery purchasing on them and Amazon just purchased a very large food chain to add to their already enormous varity of items they offer. I am just wondering what if there are only a few brick and motar stores left and the internet is attacked in a cyber attack which is not out of the realm of a possibility how would people be able to buy food if they have gone to buying food only on line? I know it is just a theory but just curious what folks think????
  9. I was thinking that Gun Buster signs might be just as good but I guess not because most Ginsing diggers don't pack guns so I guess that was a bad idea..........
  10. Thanks saves me watching it again just to keep counting...........
  11. I haven't had m magnum out in a year or more and I rpobably have about 1000 rounds for it is all...................
  12. Next time I will take pictures................
  13. Might need that much if town was coming to you but don't think you would need that much to go to town unless your a JOHN WICK type............lol
  14. I think I still have that I got from you if I am not mistaken............LMAO
  15. GEEZZ sheriff.......... I have no idea how he got shot!!!! Must have got shot by another hunter trespassing on my property.................
  16. I agree that knowing what a 22lr is capable of is as important as most anything about them. I have one 22 rifle that I can drive thumb tacks with consistantly and it gets sighted in about twice a month to make sure it is still dead on. As far as reloading, I think it would not be necessary in my case because I probably have enough to shoot anything and everything I would need to shoot and still have plenty left over. I think last look I have 1 large ammo safe completely full of nothing except 22 lr and part of another and still buying every chance I get to fill the second one.
  17. I think to many folks do under estimate the 22 Lr when they talk about guns for self defense and a gun for other uses. back when I was a kid growing up on the farm/ranch I would go squirrel with friends on the back of the farm and I know of many times we would end up fielded dressing a buck that one of my friends bagged with a 22 rifle. I actaully bagged an 8 point buck with one during a squirrel hunt. I have never been 1 to discount what a 22lr can do and never will................jmho
  18. I don't think the kids should do hard time but starting a fire when there is NO BURN ORDERS all over East Tennessee for fear of just what happened they should have the fear of GOD put in them to not do stupid things again. Maybe stiff harsh probation for about 5 years with a bunch of Community Service helping clean up fire damage areas would be a reasonable sentence..............jmho
  19. I watched it again last night and picked up where I left off on my death count and I am up to 51 but still only about 2/3 of the way through it.
  20. Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law sayeth the Judge. Pay the clerk and you can leave. That is for the lucky ones that don't either get shot at or actually get shot for trespassing. I have no clue why they chose purple in the first place. All the TN Game Reserve trees have yellow paint and most farmers I know or knew always used red paint to mark their boundary line trees. Maybe they thought the color purple would be a more gender friendly color. Pink would have been to much!!!!....................jmho
  21. If I am not mistaken there was very strick NO BURN Laws in effect for the entire Smokie Mountain Park and all surrounding areas till futher notice which still makes them breaking the law by starting the first fire when the NO BURN law was in effect. Maybe the winds did bring down some power lines but by then the damage was already well under way from the original fire. This is a terrible In-justice to every person that lost lives and property. I hope the Feds do pick this up and at least give them some sort of punishment even if it is manditory community service in the areas in and around Gatlinburg so they can see what the fire did and not the less than a slap on the wrist by the local authorities are doing................JMHO
  22. I can promise you my father would have got shot or arrested for trespassing because he was completely color blind. If he was sitting at a stop light that was laying sideways instead of up right my monther would have to tell him when to stop and go and he made sure he never traveled any roads that had those type of stop lights by himself. One thing I do wish I had that he had. Being color blind gave him great night vision without needing to use a flash light very often.
  23. Browning was one option back then but J.C Higgins also had a hump back version back then also and as for the Lever Gun it was probably a Winchester model 1887 ............just guessing but both of these guns were available back then also..............JMHO
  24. I won't argue that fact with anyone about the Twitter issue but I don't know how much golf he is playing so can't argue that either. I just hope he does not try to beat Obama on how many rounds of golf he plays cause he would have to camp out on the golf course to beat Obama..............jmho
  25. At the present time my HD shotgun is loaded with 3 inch magnum BB rounds. There is about 300 steel BBs in each round. I took it out to test the pattern at 15 feet and blew a hole about a foot around and had about 50 or so holes around the main hole in a 4x8 piece of plywood. Also shot another round at a old wooden door son in law had and it was about the same effect at about 10 feet.
