They may have quit picking them up but this use to around here but it's been a while since I checked into it. I'm glad your dad is not letting them go to waste and it is smart of your Dad to keep a ledger to protect his actions.................JMHO

The only problem with the Nuisance license is you can shoot the deer but cannot keep it and must call TWRA to pick it up. I really don't have an issue with that because they supposedly have the deer processed and donate it to homeless shelters and other charities. The only problem I have found with this is I had a friend that shot 3 deer in his garden and called TWRA and it took them 3 days to even show up and all of the meat was ruined and was beginning to stink. I guess it is a Catch 22 situation on that!!!!

Well, I can't say that the one time someone tried to rip me off was wearing anything except kinda normal clothes. It was summer time and about 2 AM when all hell broke loose in my carport. This is back when Kasey was still a young dog and very aggressive around strangers and had to be on a run cable when out doors. She was out side the night that two illegal immigrants decided to help them selves to some of my high end rods and reels off the deck of my bass boat. There was 2 of them and Kasey didn't bark but just reacted by grabbing one of them in the calf of his leg removing a chunk of his leg and when he tried to hit her she got hold of his hand and about took off 3 fingers and he jumped up in my boat to get away from her and as I was clearing the door heading that way his buddy broke and ran as Kasey turned and tried to get him before her cable stopped her. This guy in my boat was screaming at her in spanish and I yell to shut up because she does not know spanish. I had the police on the phone and was trying to explain what was going on and he was screaming and kasey was barking and I tried to tell her he needed an ambulance and finally she told me it would be about 20 minutes before she could have a car to the scene. I told her fine, I will just shoot this SOB a few times and when ya'll get here he will be laying in my boat and I will leave the carport lights on for them and she said NO NO don't do that and I said I better hear sirens really quick and it was about 1 minute and I heard several coming. when they arrived they began tending to his dog bites and I noticed Kasey still had her cable stretched to the max looking down towards the neighbors back yard at an out building. I told the police that he had a partner that took off when I came out. They said they would get a K-9 to come and see if they could find him. I told the officer that if he wanted the bad guy I can get him to come in and he said how and I said watch and I unhooked Kasey and she broke into a dead run. About 10 seconds later there was a bunch of screaming in the dark and the guy came running out of the dark as fast as he could right into the arms of the police and I grabbed Kasey and put her in the house. The officer said they needed her on the K-9 squad. I found out later that they worked for a lawn care service that cut the lawn of the house next door and they kept seeing all those rods and reels on the boat when they would cut the back yard next door. Come to find out the lawn service only had illegal imigrants employed and they arrested the company owner and all of his employees and confiscated all of his lawn care business equipment and trucks. As the last LEO was getting ready to leave he said would you really have shot him and I smiled and said glad we didn't have to find out huh??? Now with that said, they were dressed in cut off blue jeans and tank top shirts and jogging shoes. Nothing abnormal that most people wears in summer.

Justice Thomas Calls Out The Supreme Court
bersaguy replied to xsubsailor's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Supreme Court justice Kennedy is considering retiring soon so once Trump puts a replacement for Kennedy on the bench I would guess the case will be appealed back to the SC again and get a hearing next time..........JMHO -
I did like this but not for how you were treated while growing up being willing to speak out about it now. I also served with African American men and many times they made me proud to be their friends. I don't have a lot of black friends today but the few I do have are welcome at my home anytime they stop by with or without their family and we have grilled out a few times, I at their house or them at mine. I know there will be a few people here that don't agree with my views but that is their business and mine is mine and I hope it can stay that way...............JMHO

Well I was taught all the time I was growing up that is was not the appearence that makes the person but their actions so that is how I have always based my opinions on anyone. I grew up in far west Chicago as a kid and went to school with about every race on earth and when recess came we all played baseball, basket ball or foot ball. It was never decided who played by race. We all played ball. Before we played ball together we shot marbles together when younger and again it was never based on race. Many times I would share marbles with kids of other races that were less fortunate than I was just so they could join in. Some kids wore nice clothes and some kids wore what they had. I remember many times my mother would pick out some clothes none of us could wear any longer do to growth and she would pass them down to another family that she knew needed them and again she didn't pick a race but a family. That is the way I was raised and even moving south I did not change my views on my up bringing even though I learned quickly that things were much different n the South. My mother was raised in the South but she never did follow southern traditions when raising us 5 boys up north and she married my father which was from Michigan. I still to this day do not judge a person by their style of dress, race, Sexual preference, or anything else that many do these days but their actions tell me everything I need to know about a person. I am to damn old to change my ways now so I just take everything with a grain of salt and face value today and just try to make each day a good one....................JMHO

Ok someone is going to have to explain this to me. Michael Brown attacks a police officer. After scuffle with the 2 over the officers gun the officer is found that he was justified in shooting Brown. Officer was never charged with any wrong doing by the officer yet they give the Brown family 1.5 million dollars in lawsuit. What part of this am I missing?.....................

What Is It - Groundhog Size with a Long Bushy Tail
bersaguy replied to Jeb48's topic in General Chat
8 to 10 lbs rules out a Fox Squirrel, I have bagged a bunch of those in my life for the freezer and some really big ones but I think about 3 lbs is the biggest I put in the freezer. I'm sure you would have recognized it if it was house cat so would almost rule that out also. I found this video that might help with some insight. Hope this helps!!! -
What Is It - Groundhog Size with a Long Bushy Tail

Was it in a tree, field or near water? Might help narrow the search knowing where it was located when you saw it...........jmho -
For example, 49 “regular citizens” were killed in the June 12, 2016, Orlando terrorist attack and 14 “regular citizens” were killed in the December 2, 2015, San Bernardino terrorist attack. I was also planning on raising this same question. Was there any elected officials victims in either one of these attacks?? .........................

That sounds similar to the comparison back years ago with the BAR(Browning Automatic Rifle) It weigh 19.6 lbs not counting ammo and is was mostly considered a two man gun back then. One carried and shot and the other wore the belts of ammo magazines for the gun. There were some guys that did carry gun and ammo belts but not many from what I have read.

I have said it in a prior post and I will say it one more time. This does not past the smell test because if the LEO really thought he was about to make a traffic stop of an armed bank robber his first reaction should have been to radio a request back up and waited for it to arrive before approaching said vehicle. With that said, I do believe is was a bad shoot and the LEO should not have gotten off and allowed to remain on the force............JMHO

Well lets see. 2+2 = 22 right?..........................

"Given the comment from the camera guy that they both went flying past which prompted him to get his phone out and start recording, there's no way that was a surprise." That is why I said I would not be judgemental on the situation because I think the problem began long before the guy began making the video. Either way the biker should have stopped at the scene and it made him look guilty even if he was not the person that actually provoked the problems beginning.............JMHO

Yea ,I will have to say mine were all a lot newer but when I was a kid I sure bagged a bunch of game with the field grade Model 12. Many of the same type birds she is holding. Had a lot of Pheasants where I grew up along with Rabbits, Doves ,Squirrels, Ducks, Geese and in some places Quail but had to drive to where they were down in southern Illinois. I pretty much keep all kinds of meat in the freezer at the house during the hunting seasons and that Model 12 was a meat getter for sure..............JMHO

Well I watched the video and I will not make a judgement call either way because who knows what happened a few miles before the video began?...........JMHO

Yes sir and as far as I'm concerned probably the best Pump Shotgun Winchester ever made. I have owned several in my lifetime. Had a Field grade, Trap grade and Pigeon Grade and wish I still had a couple of them today........JMHO

I bought both movies of John Wick the other night and watched both of them back to back. The only thing I have to say is it is not a good idea to make him mad at you!!! I also noticed that only got to see one LEO in each movie and that was when the one came to his door about a noise complaint and asked him if he was working again? I guess I would say that they are good movies worth watching and got to see a real varity of different types of guns use.............JMHO

You mean the real one with Yul Brenner and Charles Bronson or this remake that sucked

I'm guessing they are using them because they are still working and apparentely working well with that last kill. Sorry buddy , had to say it..................

I keep a small caliber gun in my bathroom also. Just big enough to get bad guys attention should he be in my house but will also still stop them.

I remember watching a special on either the History channel or the Discovery channel about snipers and they referred to one of the earlier Canadian Snipers makinga shot at over 1 mile and at the time it was the longest kill on record and he was taking out another sniper which makes it even more challenging. They had exchanged rounds at each other several times and the Canadian was shooting a Barrett and he had run out of the Canadian ammo for it. His spotter handed him some American rounds so he could keep shooting and whith the first American round he took out the bad guy. Upon closer inspection between the two rounds they concluded that the projectile from the American round was lighter than the ones from Canada yet pushed by the same powder load making it shoot farther more accurately. Evidently Canada may have began building ammo to our specs or they are shooting our ammo...................JMHO

I only have one question about this entire case. If in fact the officer did think he had stopped an armed bank robber as was implied why did he not radio for back up and wait till it arrived before making his approach to the car? That is what I apprecaite about the police department in my town. On any traffic stop you see there is always 2 or more squad cars on the scene and the officer that made the stop waits on back up every time. I have noticed that Hendersonville also practices that same approach on their traffic stops. Always at least 2 cars on the scene. I think that is a great practice................jmho

I will tell you how to have your fishing day wrecked in a hurry. A friend of my was fishing a Super Bass Tournament about 15 years ago on Old Hickory and they had locked through the dam to fish in the river and were flipping boat docks when my buddy set the hook on what he thought felt like mushy type bit. When he began to pull it up he pulled a hand still attached to an arm that was still attached to a body. They called the police and it took almost an hour for police boats to arrive and it took another 3 hours for them to release him to return to fishing but he said he didn't want to do anything but trailer his boat and go home. I think I would have felt the same way...............JMHO
