  1. Probably not but then the news never gives you the truth but write what they want and no one really finds out the facts till the trial. They threw the book at him but yet he is under house arrest for agun and shooting and not in jail. Will probably even be turned loose when it gets in court unless the guy has been in trouble before.............JMHO
  2. Congrads and hope your life is blessed with a great new addition and just remember they grow up very quick so savor every minute you have with the baby cause babies don't seem to stay that way long. Take lots of pictures and home videos so you can look back to the days when a baby was part of your life.............JMHO
  3. Welcome to Canada!!!!! Just don't shoot anyone while your here or we will throw the book at you and your stay here will be extended for an unlimited period of time! Hope you enjoy your visit...................
  4. Believe me Mac I can understand completely your stance on this and I also have given it a ton of thought and it is hard for me to see trusting any Judge, jury or Prosecutor to produce all of their evidence to the Defense so a fair trial can be held. Now I will let my problem known what scares the hell out of me about life in prison without the possibility of parole. Back for those of you folks that remember a Governor named Ray Blanton. I don't know how many people knew his plans for the night before he left office but he planned on signing pardons and paroles for people in prison. On the list was about 12 or more murders and two in particular where professional hit men partners that killed a doctors wife for him while he was out of country and when he learned it was done the doctor got scare and feared them that he hired so he ratted them out if he could avoid prosecution. He set them up to be caught. Because the authorities wanted these 2 killers off the streets they made the deal. Blanton was going to Pardon these 2 guys along with several other really bad guys that had bought their way out! I learned about this years later while talking with a retired investigator that was one of the ones that took Blanton down. It is things like this that make me not trust putting men like this in prison for life instead of putting them on death row. President Obama pardoned a bunch of people just before he left office. I don't know what crimes they had committed but the fact is it was done. For those of you that don't know who Ray blanton was you can read about him in the link below. That is what scares the hell out of me is some crazy politician turning a bunch of these crazy people back out of prison. They cannot pardon anyone on death row!!! http://themoderatevoice.com/tennessee-governor-blanton-the-most-mischievous-of-mischief-makers/
  5. Do I believe that most police officers are good Cops? Yes! Do I believe that there are bad cops? Yes!!! now with that said there is something that folks probably don't think about when they say that cops circle the wagons around the brothers in Blue. Yes they do! But has anyone ever wondered why they do that? Has anyone ever wondered why there are very few whistle blowers in the police forces across this country? If you blow the whistle on a fellow officer for an infraction but he is allowed to remain on the force and happens to have many friends and something comes down and you, the whistle blower needs back up help in a dangerous even life threatening situation how much help can you expect and how fast will that help arrive? I think that is why even good cops circle the wagons but that is JMHO and I wonder just how many times that has happened when an officer needed help that never showed or showed to late. I think circling the wagons might mean self preservation for many officers even when they don't agree with it!!!! . Do I agree with it NO!! but I understand it to a point..............JMHO
  6. I am a firm beliver that if you take a life and it is proven beyond all doubts that you should be put to death but only after all forensic tests have not clear you. This idea of givinga person all these appeals and letting them live on death row for 10 + years needs to be removed. Richard Speck murdered 6 student nurses in Chicago back in the 60's and their was zero doubt he did it yet he had some many appeals that he died of old age on death row awaiting execution. Zero justice was given to those 6 young girls he violently slaughtered. Those are things to need to be stopped and sentences need to be carried out. Those brothers that killed Frankie Jordan should still be in prison as they all had police records for many crimes and prior convictions!!!! I don't care how much the shooter said he is sorry will not bring Frankie back or give his family any comfort.
  7. I have never thought that all crimes should fall under the same level of punishment but then many times I also see that by being easy on some that break the law causes them to only get out and in turn break the law again and again. I worked in corrections for a few years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and was stationed at the Joliet Prison Facility which was where at the time was a the worst of the worst and I think I saw the worst of the worst many times come out of the inmates. We experienced 3 all out riots while I was working there and there was no way of being nice to that class of inmates regardless of how much you reached out to listen and work with them...................JMHO
  8. This is an article I found about Frankie Jordans murder but didn't know his killers had already been turned loose even though they were sentenced to life +10 years!!!! http://www.wsmv.com/story/16677454/brothers-convicted-of-murdering-deputy-set-free-family-keeps-fighting I think they should still be in prison which such a murder as bad as this was. Frankie was struck 19 times in the back by buckshot. There are also many descrepences in the news article about who did the actual shooting.
  9. I guess most folks here are not familiar with Cheatham County like I am since I lived down there when we moved he when I was 17. Cheatham County is one of those "Good Ole Boys" counties. The sheriff back when I first moved here had been the Sheriff about 30 years and everyone called him by his first name which was Les. the folks in Cheatham county knew him well and all knew when he said something he ment business but they also said he was very fair to all a well. (example) State Stove water heater company located in Ashland City and about 95% of the people employed there lived in Cheatham County. If Les had a complaint filed against an employee there he would go to the plant and tell the guard at the front gate to tell So-N-So he needs to come by the office on his way home from work today!!!! If the guy showed up Les would have a talk with the guy and tell him to quit beating his wife or quit doing what he was called for and send them on. If teh guy did not show up, the next day Les would go to the plant, walk inside, walk up to the guy he was looking for , cuff him and drag him out of the plant. I'm not sure what happened to the guy but you can bet next time Les told him to stop by he did. Les finally retired and another sheriff was elected and he was a first name sheriff also named Dorris. He didn't change much from the way Les ran the county Sheriffs office. Still a "Good ole Boys" club of deputies. That was until one of his duties was murdered during a burglary and was killed by being shot in the back by a shotgun using oobuck and was shot three time cause they found 3 empty casings on the ground by a lookout watching for the police. At that point the investigation was out of the Sheriffs control and was being handled at State and Federal levels. I knew the deputy that was killed personally and he was a really nice young man. I honestly thought all the good ole boys club was gone when that sheriff passed away and an ex state Trooper was elected to the Sheriff but that was short lived. Next election another good ole boy was elected and is still there at least till we see where this mess goes they have now. Just thought I would give some back ground into that counties law enforcement policies!!.............................
  10. I would be willing to bet peejmans skin is a lot thicker than your is but I am not going to lower myself to your level any further than I already have.....
  11. Links you posted are from a Home school course K12 and not from the Public School System.
  12. The greater Chicago school system for 1. I have friends up there that had told me about it several times. I grew up up there till age 17 and I was taught all of it in US history but my friends have grandchildren that don't have any US History classes offer in Junior high and High Schools.
  13. My buddy and I when growing up use to hunt Pheasant and Quail in southern Illinois but last time I spoke with him he said he and his son still hunt them but their numbers are way down in both species so the creel limit on both species has been cut way down almost making it not worth hunting quail but they still hunt Pheasants.
  14. My Grandson works in the jail in Cheatham County and I know he would not have had anything to do with that ordeal. He is head jailer on the night shift and I can promise you it would not have happened on his shift. It looks like he will be pulling longer shifts again cause they are already short of staff and going to be short again. As far as people that did this. You can bet they will probably be charged with something and I do agree that the man they tazed needs to own a good portion of Cheatham County...........JMHO

    The Mummy

I didn't see that one but I don't watch his movies unless there is just nothing else showing on TV at the time.
  16. I would not think house cats would have got them. Maybe Bob Cats, Foxes and Coyote's but I doubt house cats. House cats would be part of the food chain themselves if there is land capable of supporting a covey or 2 of Quail on it..........JMHO
  17. I would be willing to bet the FHP got held after class and got a learning experience probably. Judges sometimes don't like LEO's with smart mouths, expecially in a tourist towns! .............JMHO

    The Mummy

Actually the only movie I saw with Cruise in it I liked was Top Gun and that was only because there were other top stars in it. I have never been much of Russell Crowe fan either. He did a good showing in Gladiator but that was about all.................JMHO
  19. After watching the video above and I were the officer when he made the move to quickly approach me that would very possibly been when I shot him because of a purely and overly aggressive nature being shown. No doubt the other person in the vehicle was probably loading the rifle and the guy was stalling long enough to get it done. I am very sorry for that officer and I do agree that in this day in time there is no plain traffic stops where there is zero danger with all of the crazy people out there. I guess that is why when Gallatin PD or Hendersonville PD does a traffic stop nothing transpires at the stop till backup has arrived. Just about every traffic stop I have witnessed in both of those towns there is always 2 or more police cars at the scene and I can't blame them at all these days................jmho
  20. I suspect that they are increasing them for a couple reasons, 2 which I totally agree with. 1 is the move over law when you are approaching an emergency vehicle working on the shoulder you do need to slowand move over and #2 is speeding in construction zones when workers are present. Many have been hurt or killed by people both failing to move over or speeding in construction zones. As far as the rest of the high fines, That is just the Judges and clerks doing what all politicians do. They are writing them selves a raise in pay!!!!!.............

    The Mummy

Is that the one where the Mummy is a female? I have quit watching Tom Cruise movies since Top Gun so probably won't go out of my way to watch it either...........
  22. It's all about the money!!! Last ticket I got was back in 1992 in Watertown Tennessee at 3AM. I was on my way to Center Hill lake to fish a tournament pulling my boat. Speed limit was 35 and I was clocked at 58 according to the Water Town LEO. He asked me where the fire was and I said no fire, just a tournament. After he finished writing the ticket and I signed it he said good luck at the tournament and nice boat. I remember the ticket when I got home so dug it out and read what the fine was and it said my fine would be $58.00 if I mail it in. Well since it would mean a 200 miles round trip to go to court so I was getting ready to just pay it and in really very very small print at the bottom of the ticket it said No Checks. Well, I thought about it for a day or two and then sat down, wrote a check and mailed it. 6 days later my check cleared my bank. Never heard another word out of them. Like I said, it's all about the money. They got their money and were happy. As far as going to court and paying court costs those are fees that pay the judge for his time and the clerks for their time and the floor sweeper for his time and so on and so forth.
  23. I just hope she sues all of them for their actions. I would also demand that my mug shots be removed from any and all data bases that may have them all the way up to the FBI and if they aren't I would sue for that also...........jmho
  24. I don't see the benefit to these shot shells at a buck a piece. More rounds from a less powerful round? What is really the up side to this?????.............
  25. I rode a lot back in the 70's and 80's and knock on wood I never had an accident but a close friend of mine did get killed by being stupid. He was doing about 90+ MPG on Franklin Road heading to a wedding and a lady stopped in front of him and he had to lay his bike down and he and the bike went completely under the car and stopped right at the cars transmission. Several witnesses said that he had passed them just seconds before the accident and said he was doing very excessive speeds just before he hit her and the accident scene showed that he laid the bike down at least 50 or more feet before making contact with the car. He died before they could get the car off of him. Shortly after that I sold my bike and never got on another one. It had nothing to do with his death. I just kind of lost interest in bikes and sold it to buy a fishing boat. Keith was always doing crazy stuff and every evening when he left work we could hear him going through the gears and each time we could tell he was WOT. His death was not a surprise to anyone. We all knew it was just a matter of time.
