Welcome to TGO and Tennessee, Ain't it funny how the North use to brag about winning the Civil War yet the Yankees are moving south in large numbers to get away from the supposed winning side............ Gotta love it when folks finally come to their senses and do the right thing. I just hope when you left NJ you left all of them bad habits up there. I still have family in Middlesex, NJ and I told them to stay up there cause I know them and they will bring their bad habits with them.................

I'm still out on the Castille case but I guess will accept the findings of the case as it was determind. As for the Damond case. If the officer continues to refuse to give a report on what happened I think he should be told he will be removed from the police force and be charged accordingly. This officer has had several complaints and reports filed against him during his 3 years on the force so evidently he has issues that need to be addressed..............JMHO

I know there are some of us that have been stopped by a police officer for some reason or another and have experienced armed civilian / LEO encounters. I for one know of at least 3 or 4 times I have had it happen. I was expecting it because by orders of my doctor I had to have my seat belt system altered to remove the shoulder strap section and just wear the lap belt section. That is done to protect the large amount of mesh I have in my abdomen. She said the Mesh could be torn with just a sudden stop and not hitting anything and she issued a letter I carry in my console to give to a police officer if need be. That is why I have been pulled over every time was because it looks like I am not buckled up. At least that was the reason given and I have no reason to not believe it to be something else. Each time I was stopped the officer remained in his car and I knew he was waiting for back up and I was correct cause within a few minutes backup arrived. After that both officers approached my vehicle one on each side. I already had my windown down and both hands on top of the steering wheel in clear sight. The officer came up to the drivers side and asked me to step out. I told him I would have to unbuckle my seat belt and he told me to wait and he was going to open my door and when he did he looked and saw that I did have my lap belt clicked. At that point he told me to remain in the vehicle and provide him with DL and registration. I did provide what he asked for and I also exlained to him about the letter but he said it was not necessary. He handed my paper back and told me to have a nice rest of the day but did tell me that I would probably go through this type of stop again as they are in Click-it or Ticket Month and officers are looking for folks not wearing their seat belts. They were both Gallatin police Officers. I also did go through pretty much same type of stop in Hendersonville once and Goodlettsville once and all of the officers were very understanding and two of them did read the letter from the doctor written on her letterhead and I never got a ticket. All that was over 3 years ago now and I guess they quit having click-it ticket month cause I have not been stopped since. I will say that every officer I spoke with was very professional and very curtious but every one did not approach my vehicle until they had back up on scene which tells me they are ran my tags and knew there would be a good chance I was armed but none of them ask if I was or asked to see my CCP.

I agree with you 1000% Dave! Teaching needs to begin at home but to many times it goes in one ear and out the other as peer pressure seems to make all the teaching useless. That is one thing I pounded into my boys and they pounded it into their sons and they have never disrespected a police officer yet cause none of them have ever been arrested for anything.........."Knock on Wood again" I even have 1 grandson that is a Duputy Sheriff in Cheatham County. I have been stopped a couple times over tha past 10 or so years for different things and if the officer asks me to search my car I give them permission every time after we have the gun situation cleared up which always goes smooth and by the book. Kids now days think they know everything and are smarter than Mom and Dad. They are taught a lot of that in public schools. It still never hurts to try and teach them...............JMHO

Gosh who knows who hit the bird.................There is a 59 Olds and a 60 Olds, 60 Chevy and 61 Chevy and I think a 57 or 58 ford pick up that I can make out of the lower picture

There was just a discussion on a fishing site I hang out in about the subject of being able to carry a gun while on TVA water ways and according to a new law just passed it states you can legally carry a gun in your boat just as you can your car with or without a CCP. It states that your boat falls under the Castle Doctrine? Some were talking about being unsure about the law and others said it was in fact the law. My post to it was as follows: When confronted by an LEO and having a gun in your boat, car or just in public best thing you can do at that point is to follow every request the LEO makes regardless. Even if you know you are right. The LEO's interpetation of the law may not be the same as yours. Best thing is to follow the LEO's orders and let the judge and legal system sort it out. With times like they are it is better to follow orders than is is to get shot or have more charges added to the ones you may already possibly be facing. That is JMHO but I think it is better to be safe than sorry and live to go home and be with family.

I can say I have never had a rifle or pistol round squib "Knock on Wood" but then I probably don't shoot as many rounds as most here do. What I have seen and had back years ago when I was just a kid growing up. Me and my best friend Dave were both into trap shooting as kids and had a gun club within walking distance of our homes and we would save our money we earned doing odd jobs till we could afford to buy reloadng supplies and we would reload as many 12 gauge rounds as we could and go shoot. We were using an old Texan reloader and if you did not pay close attention you could run out of powder quick. Both Dave and I did that a couple times and we learned quick the dangers of it. Neither of us damaged either of our guns but another shooter almost did with one of his reloads had failed and had it not been for Dave it could have been bad! Dave was on the line when the guy next to him had a squib and Dave hollered real loud "Squib" and that round was stopped till it was checked. Sure enough the Remington Power piston wad was still lodged in the barrel of the shooters gun and he was going to call his next bird and shoot. Maybe it would have just blown the wad out but maybe it could have blown the gun up. The guy was very thankful to Dave for hollering Squib beccause there was 2 other shoots going on and he didn't hear his squib load but Dave did and didn't see the wad clear his barrel. We never had a wad not clear the end of our barrels because we seemed to have just enough powder in out squib loads to push it out but it was smething we wtached for and we became much more careful when reloading after that. Shortly after that we saved our money all Winter and bought a Mec 600 reloader which had safety's that would not allow the bar to slide dumping the powder or shot into the casing if there was not enough powder of shot to be a safe load. We used Federal primers, Peters # 8 Shot and Hercules Red Dot Powder for ur reloading.

News: Armed Robbery w/ a Twist
bersaguy replied to Wheelgunner's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It is never a good idea to mess with an old man. He will kill you. Proof is in the report. I just wish he would have got both of them but 1 is better than none..... -
I admit I am enjoying seeing all the old vintage firearms but in all honesty I am also enjoying getting to see all of the old cars and trucks also. Love the 59 Corvette!!

US Urges All Nationals In North Korea To "Depart Immediately"
bersaguy replied to tennessee1911's topic in General Chat
If we strike N. Korea it better take out all of their ability to launch any missiles because if just 1 or 2 get out and South Korea can't shoot it down or Japan can't shoot one down many thousands of people will die. If we hit them it needs to be a 1000 times worst than Pearl Harbor. We need to bring them to their knees on day one and make them not want a day two...................JMHO -

Remember me saying "YOU CAN"T FIX STUPID" People that go there are defining that saying and explaining the statement with action! With that said I sincerely hope they keep the Dennis Rodman forever......... -

Just my opinion but it sounds like the machine work is a little off plum in the break open area and it might take more than just a little polishing or buffing to make it work. There is a product called Rocket Fuel that is designed to make any tight actions on any thing work smoother. I use to use it on fishing reels back years ago and it sure made them cast a 100% easier. Might want to get some of it and give it a try. https://www.fishntech.com/tg_rocket_fuel.html

I agree with you 100% Omega. I don't think many people give consideration to the unsettling ground that is know as Yellow Stone. If that baby pops I would guess you could about write of most of the U.S.A. a good bit of Canada and maybe even part of Mexico. It has been rumbling for many years now and folks don't even give it any thought what so ever..............JMHO

I don't doubt that at all. Children today are not taught what we were taught when we were in school. The reason that they quit teaching U.S. History in public schools was that they declared the text books and teachings to be racist because of the part where the Civil war was discussed and they said is was to depressing for students to learn. It was a very dark part of our nations history but it was a part of it regardless. I agree that it is wrong for 1 man to own another and a great war was faught and thousands of Americans died proving that and I think all young Americans need to learn it..............JMHO

They quit teaching U.S. History in our public school systems and went to only world history it took away the most important piece of education our children could be taught. I am glad my Grand children are all home schooled and taught US history and they know a lot more about how America was built and they have a lot more respect the Flag and the National Anthem and the Constituton than many public school students.........JMHO

I'm sure there have been some people here that have seen the movie "War Games" with Matthew Brodrick where he almost set off world war III by trying to play games. Now that was a "MOVIE"and Hollywood and it was back before computers were no where near as high tech as they are now. Kids today watch those types of movies and they get ideas. I don't doubt that many of the leaks that they are complaining about in DC may be coming from these so called kids and that might be why everyone says they are anonomous(spelling) because many of them are. Wikileaks got a lot of what they posted from hackers about the DNC and Hilliary and were the same people that were able to hack into Hilliary's email accounts. Now with that said, I don't think these kids are stupid at all but instead they are highly intelligent. They know that if they bring down the grid they also shut themselves down and that is the last thing they would want to do so even if they could do it they won't........................JMHO

That is why I keep a small amount of cash locked in one of my safes in case debit and credit cards become useless. and I have Dry Milk for emergencies. Just add water. Cash will buy more water. It is exactly why I have designed my life to not depend solely on Bank Cards but insert some cash into the equation. Also it is wise to have some things that will work in a barter situation when cards and cash won't work.................jmho

I will probably wait till it comes out on DVD and the buy it. I enjoy sitting at home watching great movies and once I watch it I share them with family members. They normally chip in a few bucks towards the purchase of it so everyone gets to see it for a few bucks. Most everyone in the family has the huge screen TV's except me but I have a 36 inch flat screen which is plenty for me.................

Referring back to the Diane Black residence and location. I have been fishing on Old Hickory lake since the 70's and during that time bass fisherman saw a great lake forming and becoming a Big Bass lake. By the mid early 90's the lake was a Maga big bass anglers dream. The section of land in Station Camp creek was one of the best locations on the lake to catch numbers of big bass because it had a beautiful growth of Milfoil beds in which big bass lived. Milfoil was growing anywhere the water was 5 feet deep all over the lake but would not grow very far away from the banks because it is a shallow water plant. All of the channels remained clear of the plant. There was a large farm on the point of land located in Station Camp creek and cattle would live on it and they would go out in the lake to cool off in summer. The elderly man that owned the farm had no living relatives and a contractor made a deal with the gentleman to purchase the land and gave him a lifetime endowment allowing him to remain on the property as long as he lived. The old gentleman passed away in 1995. In 1997 the Milfoil began to die off and dissappear all over the entire lake and not just in Station Camp Creek. Through a bunch of investigations it was discovered that the Corps of Engineers was killing off the weeds beginning in Station Camp Creek. Problem was that it was a private deal made under the table between the Contractor and a man high enough up in the Corps ladder to get the weed erradication done without needing to go up the ladder to get approval. Next problem was the Corps and Contractor subcontracted to erradication to an outside firm to do the work. Well they began spraying in late 1996 and in late 1996 hundreds of thousands weeds were being killed along with hundreds of thousands of fish of all species. Turns out the contractor used the wrong chemicals to kill the weeds and it killed the fish also. That brought the TWRA into the mix and they began investigating the fish die off. They collected many different species of fish and sent them to labs to find out what killed the fish. It was determinded that it was the weed killer used by the contractor killed the weeds and the fish. The guy that worked for the Corps tried to cover up the true reason for the weed erradication as the fact that the weeds were damaging to Turbines at the dam that they used to generate electicity which in turn ended up being a proven lie. The investigaton turned up that the contractor that had bought the land in Station Camp Creek knew that his lake front property would be worth millions more if the weeds were gone so he found a guy at the Corps he could bribe to get the approval to kill the weeds and once he had that he was the one that hired and paid the sub contractor to do the job and told the contractor to do it as cheaply as possibly and to do so he bought the cheapest weed killer available that was not approved for the protection of wild life including fish. Old Hickory Lake fishery is still trying to recover from the damage that was done to it in 1996. Everyone found to know anything about what deal was made at Corps was fired and the main 1 or 2 at the top level where prosecuted. The contractor was charged with Bribery of Government officials & distruction of Government property and was still fighting it in court when the housing bubble burst and he went bankrupt and lost everything. Construction on houses that were half done was stopped for about 2.5 years and everything sat dorment there till a new owner bought the operation. The Sub contractor was also charged with distruction of Government property and lost his license and was fined some astronomical figure! The weeds are still gone and the fishing average at best and where bags of fish averaging 25 to 30 lbs coming into tournaments in 1995 are now 14 to 17 at best on a good day but many are 12 or under. Off my soap box now!!!!!!

I did some reading about the power grid system across the country and it was mentioned many times that the power grids are really old and need to be updated which will cost up into the bilions of dollars to do. I think it might be that the Feds are looking at trying to figure out a way to raise the money necessary to begin to update the grid system. I am guessing that if it comes to Trumps Wall or the Infrastructure of fixing the grids that wall will take a back seat, especially if there is a grid problem. As far as what would happen if there was a grid failure, I hate to think about the riots and damage that will be done depending on what section of the country is affected but it won't be a good situation where ever it might happen............jmho
