Yea , back many moons ago when I was young and had money to blow I bought a used 1977 Dodge Ramcharger for $1,500.00 and about $23,000.00 later had a monster truck from Hell. When Detroit lockers were not engaged along with NP205 Tranfere case that was powered by a 403 CID power plant under the hood it got 4-6 MPG turning Monster mudder tires under a 10 inch lift kit. With everything locked in for off road top speed was 6 mph but that was up hill down hill or on level ground and the MPG was 1 mile per gallon and I had 4 fuel cans on back gate and truck tank held 40 gallons. Had a lot of fun in that old high dollar toy for about 5 years and then some guy decided he liked it a lot more than I did and I let him own it since he had more money than sense. Offered me about twice what I had invested and I was tired of feeding it as gasolene was going through the roof. It went out west some where on a trailer never to be seen again...............

People think their cars automatically become boats in floods when in many casees can become coffins. Back many years ago I had a monster Truck and I did drive it into flooded roads but water seldom got above the tires and I knew the roads and new what they looked like without water on them so knew which ones to not try also. I had a lot of fun with that big ole truck back years ago..............

If I owned that it would have to set right where it is because I could not afford to start it much less drive it.................

If I had 12 five gallon cans of gas it would last me about 2 years or longer. When I got my Jeep back 8 years ago it had 157,000 miles on it. When I went to get my new tags for this year the guy ask me what the miliage was at the testing center and it was 164,240. That is 7,000 miles in 8 years so that should let folks know how much driving I do so 12 cans would last me for at couple years at least. Almost everything I need to buy is within 10 miles of my home and most of it is 5 miles from my house. When I go visit family which lives 70 miles from me I fill up Jeep and when I get back home I fill it up again and it normally take about 8 gallons to fill it back up so thats about 18 mpg for round trip. If I just run around getting things I need here close by I can buy gas one time a month and normally put 12 to 14 gallons in an 18 gallon tank to fill it. I love my old Jeep almost as much as Kasey does.................

I also took that same Oath when I entered the military and will honor it with my life if necessary. I have been member of Oath Keepers since it formed and is why I get emails from them. Because of my health I cannot do things like many are doing in Houston but I did donate what I could afford to them and their work. As for the people that believe they are a radical racist organization, well they are not!!! But people will believe what they want so won't go into that.........JMHO

My son has a creek in front of his house in Kingston Springs but house is on a hill but he also has a repair shop and fixes cars there and he spent most of the night with oldest son pulling cars up on high ground that were in the parking area between creek and shop. He had to pull 19 cars into the back yard and all round his house. He said they almost lost one to flood water but got it before it got over the tires and it was the last one. He said the winds got up to about 50 or 60 mph while they were moving the cars also. He said right not the creek is up in front yard but he can get out because him and his son both own big tire Dodge Pickups with lift kits and he and Justin have both been out once this morning to go by gas. He said all the stations have down there is High Test except the Truck stop up by interstate so they filled up both trucks and a few cans and went back home. He said the other day when he filled his wifes car up gas was $2.09 and today it was $2.69.

Yea, I heard it on a news network when he first announced it and I figured all the players on Texans would donate. The owner of The Tennessee Titans donated 1 million dollars as she is from that area of Texas the same day J.J. announced his fund raiser. I'm waiting to see if Jerry Jones donates anything to it from Dallas Cowboys.................

Now thats funny right there cause me and about 5 friends use to do just that just about all holiday's from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Couple coolers and lawn chairs sit up in my buddies yard that lives right on Bull Creek Boat ramp on Old Hickory Lake. WE have see everything from really serious fights to mild arguments, to Naked young ladies that put their bikini's on while standing in the boat while boyfriend or Hubby or who ever it was that was trying to back the boat down one of the ramps. It would begin about 10AM and finally end about 1 PM. The good ole days.............LMAO

I use to watch Buffy too! As far as grilling steaks when she sees me fire up the grill she automatically knows she is eating girlled something whether it be Hot dogs, Chicken breasts. Hamburgers, steaks or fish or anything else I can grill. I grilled some of the last of my Deer Tenderloins the other day. She in very fond of deer meat and loves it grilled. As far as how she is doing, it looks like the medication the Vet has her on is working and she is doing better and I hope it continues to work and thank you for asking..................

So who has big plans for Labor Day weekend? My son in law just called me and ask me if I wanted to go fishing and I told him no but if he wanted to go to come and get the Skeeter and go. I don't go near the lakes on Holiday weekends. My neighbor was nice enough to give me 2 nice T bone Steaks the other day so I am thinking about griling them out for Kasey and I and making some homemade potatoe salad of Macaroni Salad and maybe some baked beans to go with the steaks. Gonna probably rain anyway even though they are calling for rain to move out Saturday morning. Hope every one does have a good weekend and continue to pray for those folks in Texas.........................

Back when B.T. passed away it was like losing a brother. We had been fishing buddies for 30 years and range shooters together for about 10 years and he came over about every morning for coffee and biscuits and just to talk. I still miss him a lot and trips to the range is no longer fun so I don't go but about once a month and then sometimes not at all....................

I'm sorry if I posted this thread and it has caused a division of any sort to our members. That was not my intentions at all. I just wanted to show a group of Americans that were stepping up and doing all they could do to help the people in the eye of Harvey and were being shot at for their help. I am proud to see the outpouring that is being shown by the people from all across the country that is AMERICA!!! to help provide aid and anything else they can do. It is disasters like these that show what this great country is made of and that is people taking care of anyone that needs help. It is what makes me proud to be an American.........JMHO

Last I have heard or read about it, they say that they are going to try and fire up Refineries in Corpus Christi as soon as today. They are none of the bigger ones but they will at least possible be able to keep fuel flowing until the bigger operations in Houston can get back on line. One of the problems they are having is sporadic power failures.

I think those looters that shot at the Oath Keeper boats are very very lucky that they just got arrested and not dead considering who they shot at. Most Oath Keepers are either ex military or ex Law Enforcement people and you can bet they are all armed. Had they actually hit someone in any of the boats the bad guys probably would have been killed instead of arrested and I don't think Oath Keepers would have cared who got upset over it........JMHO

I got an email this morning from the Oath Keepers. They have about 300 members in Houston with boats and are working search and rescue. They said that some of their members where actually fire upon by looters while on patrol looking for people in need of help. It was said that the looters were taken into custody by law enforcement. I am surprised they lived to be arrested considering who the bad guys fired at. It is a shame that people can be such low life individuals as to loot at a time when so many people are suffering a terrible loss. If the Oath Keepers would have shot back and killed the looters it might have sent a much needed message to other looters that they will be shot if caught.........................

I know 2 guys that hunt Ginsing and they do fairly well doing it. They are both retired military and they both hunt it up on Ft. Campbell. Last year between them I think they made about 8 grand in a month. They quit using private land even with permission because of confrontations with trespassers digging illegally.

Well the other day when I got my gas at Kroger it was $2.07. I went to buy some groceries today and it was up to $2.17. I just got back from filling up 6 Five gallon cans and topping off my Jeep. That should be enough to last me a couple months if need be. Last time I has gas stored in my cans I had stabil for fuel in it and I put it in this also. I became concerned about it geeting old since I had it almost a year so I ran Jeep down near empty twice and used it. Now I have it again for emergencies.

I'm guessing that the refineries are going to be down for a lot longer than was first thought. They are not only looking at major damage to the refineries that will need to be repaired but they are also looking at a major labor issues because almost everyone that is employed at the refineries are also dealing with personal loss and their personal lives are in turmoil. I would buy up a little extra in cans and hope things improve as soon as possible..............JMHO
