Well if the police do like most they came to the scene with sirens blasting telling the bad guys how much time they had. I have never seen a reason to run Sirens and lights in the middle of the night when responding to an alarm in a business going off unless they want to make sure that bad guys get gone before they arrive. I had an alarm system in my auto repair business and it was a silent alarm so that bad guys never knew when they triggered it and twice over the years the cops caught the bad guys still in the business during break ins. Gotta love small town LEO's. They get it done!!

You have raised a good point GGG. They consider comitting Suicide is against the law. If a person commits suicide does any one honestly think that person gives a damn about it being illegal? I think that is really one of the stupid laws on the books. If they attempt to comit suicide but try and don't succeed then that would be a crime of attempted murder I would think but then if a person does try that they would be considered mentally unstable and a lawyer would file a request to the courts on that. I honestly don't believe there can be a true law to address Suicide...............JMHO

I don't really know if insurance would cover Suicide by Cop but first the insurance company would have to prove that is what it was and I don't really believe they could.........JMHO

Well, I guess they are gone!! I have been watching all day to see if I have any left and have not had a bird all day that I have seen. I will leave all my feeders up for about 1 more week and then I will down size to 3 feeders and keep them with fresh food till the first frost for travelers going south. Time to begin getting ready for my winter birds and squirrels. A buddy of mine told me his Oak tree is full of big acorns this year so I will be taking my shop vac up to his place and load up the acorns on his driveway, deck, patio and sidewalks. He didn't have any last year for some reason. First time in years his tree did not produce. Year before last I got about 100 lbs from his place. I take those and mix them in with 50 lbs of kernel Corn in a 35 gallon galvinized trash can and then I put 100 lbs of wild bird seed in another can and I am normally good for most of the winter depending on how many critters I get. Last year I had to buy extra bird seed because I had a very big flock of Doves that showed up and I put some food down in my crush&run gravel drive way for my Cardinals and other ground feeder birds that don't feed on the tube feeders. It started out with like 3 doves and inside of a week it was about 20 and they stayed all winter. I don't know why I thought Doves migrated further south but I guess not....................

Yep and chances they are local is slim to none. Probably live in Antioch in Gangland!!!

Well, it can be looked at in several ways. In one sense it was a burden for the officer and a relief for Ray. What conclusion was drawn the officer was completely legal in his defense of himself and his fellow officers and not knowing Rays intent. I completely exonerate the officer for any wrong doing. As for why it happened was all on Rays shoulders. As for how the daughter tried to say they could have prevented it would have just ment that ray would have suffered longer which to me would have been more cruel than what took place. I know it was not somethng that the daughter and Grand daughter should have seen but they should have not put any blame on the officers for doing their job. It was all Rays decision for his actions. From what I learned later was that the officer did feel remorse but his fellow officers supported his actions and helped him get through it. A couple of them that knew Ray that were not there even told him that they would have shot him even though he was a friend of theirs. I think most of the LEO's that new Ray knew exactly what he did. .............JMHO

I don't know that for sure but I have 2 dead bolts on my house door. 1 can be latched with fingers from inside and the other requires a key on both sides. I would think that the lock on that door is key access on both side as most businesses are...............JMHO

It's been years since I dealt with the Critters From Hell but I found that the spray on Benedryl worked pretty well for me and I kept several bottles of it on hand just in case plus a bottle of the tablets............JMHO

Yea, I knew Ray and his whole family. He and his brother Fey owned a Wrecker Service and did all my towing for my shop all back in the 80's. They were also zoned in that area to do all of the police towing for city, county and THP on any wrecks in their zone. The 2 brothers were like fire and ice but they got along great. Ray in his younger days got in trouble alot with the law, nothing big, most being drunk related stuff and Fey never once got in any trouble. Ray quit his drinking when his daughter was born and never touched another drop. That was when they opened up their wrecker Service together. He told me one time while they were at my shop drinking coffee that he heard about a guy on the news that got himself killed in a Suicide By Cop story and he made the statement that if it ever became necessary for him to leave this world that is how he is going out. I didn't think he was serious and told him to just chill. I said you ain't going no where. When I quit operating my business due to my health and turned it over to my son I left Kingston Springs and moved on with my life and it was only after my son called me right after it happened to tell that Ray got shot and killed by the police in his yard that Ray had Terminal Cancer. I then remembered what he had told me back years earlier about the way he was leaving the world. What they didn't say in the news or in the investigation was what kind of gun Ray had. It was an old single barrel 4.10 and when they didn't shoot at him the first time he had to go back in the house and get another shell. Another thing that was not mentioned in the investigation was the fact that Ray had cut the tips off the shells and dumped the lead BB's in an ashtray and then loaded the gun again. The police found the BB's while investigating and when they checked the shell in the gun it was also empty of lead. He didn't want to hurt anyone, he just wanted the pain to go away and it did. I often wonder just how many times things like this happen that the entire story never gets out. It would be hard to hide something like that in a town like Kingston Springs where most of the folks all know each other that grew up all their lives there. They were able to keep that one quiet but folks found out later on anyway but it was old news by then.............................

I know this one has nothing to do directly but I do know about this shooting and I knew the man killed personally. Parts of the story are true and parts of them not so much. Thanks for the extra information. I have 2 Flat screens but neither one is High Definition and I really don't see enough difference to pay the extra. I have friends with High Def TV's and I have watched Races and Football on their TV's and my TV's have just as good a picture as far as I am concerned. I have been wanting to see The Orville even though it's suppose to be kind of different and even a little funny but I love anything space related. I even liked the original Star Trek even though I dislike William Shatner. My friends call me a "space cadet"..................

Ok so like I have said many times that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer he comes another stupid question. For those of you that are located in Middle Tennessee and have Comcast cable I am wondering what is the channel number for FOX. I have been trying to find out how to watch the program The Orville that is on FOX on Sunday Nights at 8 /7 c but I don't know what the channel number is. I thought it was FX channel 70 but evidently it is not. Can anyone give me the FOX number channel please? Thanks Bersa

I think about 1/2 or more of my birds have left this morning as I have only got about 10 birds now and they are all sharing feeders so I am guessing they are also getting ready to migrate.

I don't know what my credit looks like because I have not had any in over 15 years and don't want any. If I want something I save up until I can pay cash for it or I just do without it.........JMHO

I was watching Tucker on Fox last night and he has a doctor on there that is writing a book called Dumbing down our Children. She said that smart phones since 2012 have been destroying our children. She said that this generation of children will be the most uneducated generation in many years. She said children don't interact with other friends except on a Cell phone screen. The don't actually visit face to face any longer, They don't go to movies togeter like they use to, don't play baseball or sports together in the parks, They are living in a technology world and ever teachers are seeing it more and more. Kids use to get outside and ride bikes and do things kids have done for generations and smart phones have ended all of that and what she ment by Dumbing down our Children is teachers are saying that many many kids cannot even read and write by the time they are ready to enter high school...............

I think what is hurting all of the cable and satellite companies are all the different phone companies that are getting in the business of showing all kinds of TV shows on Cell smart phones. I don't know if they have to have a Cable provider or not in order to provide all these programs on phones. I do know that I don't want to watch a foot ball game or a Nascar race on a 4 inch screen for any reason. I guess that is why I don't have a smart phone. I know many folks almost could not live without one but I can and do. I have a standard flip cell phone that I don't even get pictures on and can't send any. Yea, I'm old fashion but I think a phone is made for making and receiving phone calls and maybe voice mail messages.............JMHO

My neighbor has AT&T Direct Satelite and computer service and I have looked at it as he pays $100.98 a month and got to pick his channel package with all of his favorite channels minus any Pay channels like HBO or Starz but he did not want them anyway. Like most have said on Comcast like I have they are stuck paying for a bunch of Spanish speaking channels they don't want and he does not have that problem. I already have AT&T Go Phone for my broad band for online computer and pay $50.00 a month for 5 GB which I seldom use it all but got close a few times. He has unlimited online internet service on his. I'm paying 70.00 for cable and 50.00 Broad band so not really enough savings to change but I would be able to get a better choice for TV channels and would have unlimited On line instead of 5 GB. Since I don't have a lot of things going these days with bait business in the cellar and not getting any bait orders, having TV channels I can enjoy and being able to be online without a time frame might be worth the change. The only real thing holding me back is they require access to my checking account and I would be on automatic billing pay. I don't to this point allow anyone to access my account for bill pay. That may be the only reason I don't go that route................jmho
