I believe that with all my heart but so far I have not heard of one person that has done a break in and stole Guns has be caught so it's hard to hold public executions until they catch someone first!!!............JMHO

I have heard that saying many times that location is # 1. I have also heard the expression which has been proven to work well also and that is "Build a better mouse trap and people will beat a path to your door! ...............JMHO

If I owned a gun store and was talking with a building owner about renting their building I would make it clear up front that what security measures I plan on taking to protect my merchandise and if the building owner declined my security measures I would find someplace else to open my Gun Store. Store Security would be my primary goal before I opened my doors for business...........jmho!

Yes, my vet explained that all to me and I did understand. I spoke with her again today about things I could do to make it easier for me to give it to her because she is so smart if she sees me drawing the needle to give her the shot she won't eat her supper and hides under the bed and she has to eat to get the shot. She told me to roll the bottle like I was told to and then draw and fill about 3 and keep them in the fridge and get it out while she is eating and not paying attention and that worked tonight. We will see what tomorrow brings with her morning meal. She does not seem to react to it so far if she does not see me with it when I give her the shot. She said not to try and get her to take the antibodics because it tramatizes her to much. She said if she begins reacting to the shots DC those also so she does not get tramatized and we will just take it from day to day now.

Moving Back to Tennessee....Need Advice On Jackson, TN Area
bersaguy replied to Seabeejason's topic in General Chat
Well, thats kind of funny about the number in graduation class. When I graduated from William James High School in 1967 it was K-12 school also and my graduating class had 22. Now if you want to talk about a shock, when my parents moved me to Tennessee I was going to school at Hyde Park high School in West Chicago and had I graduated from that school in 1967 the graduation would have taken 3 days to complete. There was 1,990 seniors in the 12th grade that year in that school. There was more Seniors in that class than the entire K-12 school I did my senior year in and graduated from. The campus of Hyde Park High School was bigger than Titans Stadium and was only an 11th and 12th grade school. Oh yea let me add, I enjoyed William James High my last year more than I ever did Hyde Park. I hated that big H-ll Hole........... -
I can tell folks about deer hunting and dogs. About 4 years ago a buddy of mine was hunting on a friends farm and was sitting in his stand about 7AM when he heard some dogs barking way off in the distance. They were heading right in his direction and closing fairly fast. He saw a big buck run out of a field and into a thicket about 30 yards from him and it stopped. He has a pretty good shot at it and he could tell the deer was getting ready to bolt as the dogs drew closer so he dropped the deer and when the guns went off the barking quit and he could see the dogs running back in the direction which they came from. He was in the middle of Field dressing the deer when the game warden walked up to him. He told him that he is under arrest for hunting over dogs whic is illegal. My buddy told him they are not his dogs and he was not hunting over dogs. It took him about 3 hours to get the mess straightened out. The Game warden was in thata rea along with 2 others because several hunters had complained they thought someone was using dogs and they were there trying to catch who ever it is. The land owner finally showed up on the scene after the warden allowed him to call him. The land owner made it clear to the warden that my buddy was a friend of his and his truck was parked back at his house and he had been hunting his land for several years but the dogs just showed up this year and they are not his or the hunters. The warden finally cut him loose. He never found out if they caught the hunters using dogs but said it about ruined his day.

First off I want to thank all the folks here for their kind and caring replies to what is taking place in my life right now. I also want to say Thanks to all the folks that have sent funds to help with Kaseys needs. I think I have finally been able to send each of you a PM thanking you but it is kinda hard connecting screen names to actual names so if I missed sending you a PM it was only because I don't know your screen name. If I missed any one please send me a PM.

In all honesty Sam I trust a flash drive more than I trust Google these days with everythng going on with them. At least with a flash drive I have them in my possession and full control of them. I do have several hundred fishing pictures I am also going to save but getting Kaseys pictures save now is priority one with me.
-
Might have to parboil that sucker for hours to make hm tender enough to eat.....................
-
Yea Dave, I am going with the thumb flash drives which I am only going to be saving about 125 pictures and the thumb drives I looked at say they will safely hold over 500 pictures each. Since I have the pictures scattered all therough my documents and pictures files. I spoke with my son in law and I am going to email all the pictures to him. He will put all of them in one folder on his computer and once he has all of them he is going to down load them onto 3 different Flash drives so they can be safely kept in 3 diferent locations plus he will have all of them on his computer along with me having them on mine. We both have fireproof gun safes which is where I will put my flashdrive.

First thing I did was ask the Vet what signs I should look for and she said she will have trouble getting up when laying down and will begin losing interests in things she has always done. She will not respond to you talking to her. Not attentive. So far I have not seen any of those in her but when I do I will know it's time. I am not one to allow anything to suffer, especially as much as I care about her.
-
Thank you and no need to doubt that. She is right now number one in my life and I am not going any place but spending time with her here.
-
Kasey will never go through that! I promise that with all my heart and soul but right now those signs are just not there and believe me I am watching for them every time I watch her move or sleep. She is just about to get a plate of Hamburger I cooked up to make some spagetti sauce for me later. I always cook enough for both.

I told my vet that I am also diabetic and I have a ton of syringes but she insisted I use theirs cause mine would not work on her. Funny they work on me just fine every night before bed. Well, I gave her the first shot and she did not react to it as I did it like the Vet told me to do. This morning after her breakfast I knelt down beside her to give her the seond shot and she pulled away from me and would not let me near her and was banging on the screen door wanting to go out so I let her out. it took me almost 3 hours to get her to come to me and only because I showed her I had nothing in my hands. I have regained her trust and I won't lose it again. Her trust in me is far more important at this time in her life than damn shot..............JMHO

Ok, I will be the first to admit I am a computer dummy on many issues and this is one of them. I have a ton of pictures of Kasey stored here on this computer and my back up computer setting over in the corner. I have no clue in how to protect them in the event of a computer crash. I have had several people tell me to just put them on a flash drive. Is that what most folks would recomend. Thing is all of the pictures are mixed in with other pictures. Is there any way to just put all of Kaseys pictures in one location so I can download them onto a flash drive without all the other pictures or is it best to just save all of them together on it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bersaguy aka Doug

Thank you my friend for that. I will never left her suffer. At the present time other than the fact that she is drinking more water than normal and going out to urinate more often which the Vet said that was probably being caused by her Diabetes more than anything else. I asked her if that would include pain and her reply was most likely not. I have had Kasey 17 years and I can tell any changes in her almost imediately and I am seeing no/zero pain or suffering. We went out for walk in the back yard yesterday and she saw arabbit and broke into a run chasing it back into the fence row. She turned and looked at me waiting for my laugh of approval as she always does and I laughed and she did that 2 more times on our walk. Until things like that go away I will not do anything to hurt our trust and bond...............JMHO

Ok so I got the results of the blood tests yesterday and it shows she has uninary tract infection and is a diabetic and the vet has said they are both treatable with medications. Both of them would require her to eat a special food which she has already proven to me she won't eat. It also means giving her a shot every 12 hours for the Diabetes and forcing her to allow me to shoot a sryinge of antibiodic in her mouth every 12 hours. I did consider doing all of this at first but I know Kasey and the bond we have. By giving her shots and forcing things down her throat by holding her mouth open will do far more harm then good to damage the bond we have at this point in her life. We all want whats best for our best friends and it was the last paragraph in the written instructions she set home with me that helped me make the decision. It is not going to do anything about what is going to end her life soon It reads: "Our goal is to provide Kasey with the best quality life possible. There is nothing that we can do medically to change what we have seen on X rays with the Mass/Tumor in Kaseys abdomen. It is either attached to her liver causing the enlargement or her Spleen or both. My hope is if we can control her blood sugar and infection then some of her clinical signs will improve/resolve and give her a better quality of life." Now with that said! In the event Kasey shows any signs of pain at all I will act accordingly at that point. Until then I feel that her trust in my love and the bond just seems more important than the shots, forced meds down her throat and foods she won't eat. Any opinions are more than welcome and appreciated.

To update folks on Kasey, I will know tomorrow when it will be closer to time. The Vet did call me today and said that she did not get blood tests back she took yesterday when she showed me the tumor and her enlarged Liver. She did tell me to love her and enjoy her for as long as you can cause the time will be short regardless of the blood tests because the tests results won't change the outcome. She said she will call me tomorrow and give me a more exact time frame.

Thanks for that Sailor. It sounds like just the place Kasey will love to be since she loves running through the grass at the park when we go and just walk and she use to run but these days she walks.
-
Ok, Need to update. Right now with what has been sent or being sent tomorrow, I have a little more than enough to cover all expenses to take care of Kasey.............. I have no way to say THANK YOU ALL for your kind words and help with her final expenses. I was going to express my thanks to all that gave but wanted to get their permission first. 1 has already said he does not want to be known so will wait for the rest to PM me before I put out any names. All I say is this is the greatest site on the web which I knew that before today but what has taken place today just proves it. I can't thank everyone enough for their kind thoughts and generosity in helping a fellow member in need. I am humbled by all the acts of Kindness that has been shown to KASEY and I !!!!!!!!!!!

It's kind of strange that you mentioned that. I have had a few friends that know me well along with family and they have said that they have never seen such a relationship between a man and his dog like there is between Kasey and I. They have mentioned a couple times that they fear if either one passes away they fear the other will go shortly after. I never gave that much thought until the time is near. 'Im kind of relieved a little in the fact that it will most likely be her so I can make sure she is cared for properly before and when the time comes. My daughter and Son In law said they will be with me and my son said he is going to be there also.

I thank you for your kind words. When I got her I had to bottle feed her as a puppy because she had no mother and I actually rescued her from a from a very large wild Tom cat that was trying to kill her. Cat weighed about 20 lbs and I put a 22 bullet in the cats head and picked Kasey up and brought her inside and had to stop bleeding on her nose and ears and gave he a bath. She still had that smoke blue in her eyes. I called the vet and she said I would have to purchase some dog milk and bottle feed her so I went there and got 4 cans of dog milk and a they gave me a bottle to feed her with. From the time she went on hard food she ate what I ate. If I grilled Pork chops ahd had pork chops, If I grilled steak I grilled 2 steaks. Your gonna love this but of all the foods I ate and fed her she loved Deep fried Crappie or Shell cracker filets the best. Anyone that knows me and Kasey personally knows there was never a shortage of love from either side. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.

I want to begin by saying how humbled I am to see how folks here are offering to step up and assist me in my needs pertaining to Kaseys final expenses. All my life I have prided myself in being as independent and standing on my own. Back when my little bait business was enabling me some extra income to supplement my Social Security income I was able to pu a little back. Since Kasey has been getting sick the vet bills have consumed what little I had saved. My bait business has slowed to almost non-existance in the last year or more causing me to depend on my monthly check to cover all expenses and anyone that lives on just a Social Security check knows after house expenses are covered there is very little left for food to get through the month. With that said if it was for me I would not accept any help and struggle through it. Because it is for Kasey and the short time I have to get this done I will accept any help that may be offered and it will be more than appreciated. I did call the Vet a few minutes ago and they said that the cost of their service to lay her down is $179.00 and the cremation is $210.00. I know that does not seem like a lot and back when bait business was good it would not be an issue. Now it is a major one with a short time to get it all done. I don't know what else to say except Thank you to all that can see your way clear to help. Doug aka Bersaguy

I don't know how to reply to this. First off thank you for your offer to help as it means very much to me. As far as costs I do know how much the cremation and urn will be. I was going to asked the doctor was the charges would be for her services but when she came and got me to come back and look at the x-rays I forgot all about it. She showed me the growth that is affecting and enlarging her liver and putting pressure on her spleen. She said if her spleen were to rupture she would bleed to death internally almost imediately. I ask her if she thought she was in pain and she said she does not appear to be at present but that could change so she sent me some pain meds home with her and said if she begins to show any signs of discomfort to give her some and see if it help her to get comfortable. I do appreciate your offer HP but at present time I don't exactly know what the costs will be. I might be able to call and find that out but I am prepared to sell the Model 85 if I have to as I feel that should cover it. Guess I better call and find out cause yesterdays visit was $247.00 and all I had was $200.00 and my buddy that was with me loaned me the other $47.00.
