  1. Yea Dave, I am going with the thumb flash drives which I am only going to be saving about 125 pictures and the thumb drives I looked at say they will safely hold over 500 pictures each. Since I have the pictures scattered all therough my documents and pictures files. I spoke with my son in law and I am going to email all the pictures to him. He will put all of them in one folder on his computer and once he has all of them he is going to down load them onto 3 different Flash drives so they can be safely kept in 3 diferent locations plus he will have all of them on his computer along with me having them on mine. We both have fireproof gun safes which is where I will put my flashdrive.
  2. First thing I did was ask the Vet what signs I should look for and she said she will have trouble getting up when laying down and will begin losing interests in things she has always done. She will not respond to you talking to her. Not attentive. So far I have not seen any of those in her but when I do I will know it's time. I am not one to allow anything to suffer, especially as much as I care about her.
  3. Thank you and no need to doubt that. She is right now number one in my life and I am not going any place but spending time with her here.
  4. Kasey will never go through that! I promise that with all my heart and soul but right now those signs are just not there and believe me I am watching for them every time I watch her move or sleep. She is just about to get a plate of Hamburger I cooked up to make some spagetti sauce for me later. I always cook enough for both.
  5. I told my vet that I am also diabetic and I have a ton of syringes but she insisted I use theirs cause mine would not work on her. Funny they work on me just fine every night before bed. Well, I gave her the first shot and she did not react to it as I did it like the Vet told me to do. This morning after her breakfast I knelt down beside her to give her the seond shot and she pulled away from me and would not let me near her and was banging on the screen door wanting to go out so I let her out. it took me almost 3 hours to get her to come to me and only because I showed her I had nothing in my hands. I have regained her trust and I won't lose it again. Her trust in me is far more important at this time in her life than damn shot..............JMHO
  6. Ok, I will be the first to admit I am a computer dummy on many issues and this is one of them. I have a ton of pictures of Kasey stored here on this computer and my back up computer setting over in the corner. I have no clue in how to protect them in the event of a computer crash. I have had several people tell me to just put them on a flash drive. Is that what most folks would recomend. Thing is all of the pictures are mixed in with other pictures. Is there any way to just put all of Kaseys pictures in one location so I can download them onto a flash drive without all the other pictures or is it best to just save all of them together on it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bersaguy aka Doug
  7. Thank you my friend for that. I will never left her suffer. At the present time other than the fact that she is drinking more water than normal and going out to urinate more often which the Vet said that was probably being caused by her Diabetes more than anything else. I asked her if that would include pain and her reply was most likely not. I have had Kasey 17 years and I can tell any changes in her almost imediately and I am seeing no/zero pain or suffering. We went out for walk in the back yard yesterday and she saw arabbit and broke into a run chasing it back into the fence row. She turned and looked at me waiting for my laugh of approval as she always does and I laughed and she did that 2 more times on our walk. Until things like that go away I will not do anything to hurt our trust and bond...............JMHO
  8. Ok so I got the results of the blood tests yesterday and it shows she has uninary tract infection and is a diabetic and the vet has said they are both treatable with medications. Both of them would require her to eat a special food which she has already proven to me she won't eat. It also means giving her a shot every 12 hours for the Diabetes and forcing her to allow me to shoot a sryinge of antibiodic in her mouth every 12 hours. I did consider doing all of this at first but I know Kasey and the bond we have. By giving her shots and forcing things down her throat by holding her mouth open will do far more harm then good to damage the bond we have at this point in her life. We all want whats best for our best friends and it was the last paragraph in the written instructions she set home with me that helped me make the decision. It is not going to do anything about what is going to end her life soon It reads: "Our goal is to provide Kasey with the best quality life possible. There is nothing that we can do medically to change what we have seen on X rays with the Mass/Tumor in Kaseys abdomen. It is either attached to her liver causing the enlargement or her Spleen or both. My hope is if we can control her blood sugar and infection then some of her clinical signs will improve/resolve and give her a better quality of life." Now with that said! In the event Kasey shows any signs of pain at all I will act accordingly at that point. Until then I feel that her trust in my love and the bond just seems more important than the shots, forced meds down her throat and foods she won't eat. Any opinions are more than welcome and appreciated.
  9. To update folks on Kasey, I will know tomorrow when it will be closer to time. The Vet did call me today and said that she did not get blood tests back she took yesterday when she showed me the tumor and her enlarged Liver. She did tell me to love her and enjoy her for as long as you can cause the time will be short regardless of the blood tests because the tests results won't change the outcome. She said she will call me tomorrow and give me a more exact time frame.
  10. Thanks for that Sailor. It sounds like just the place Kasey will love to be since she loves running through the grass at the park when we go and just walk and she use to run but these days she walks.
  11. Ok, Need to update. Right now with what has been sent or being sent tomorrow, I have a little more than enough to cover all expenses to take care of Kasey.............. I have no way to say THANK YOU ALL for your kind words and help with her final expenses. I was going to express my thanks to all that gave but wanted to get their permission first. 1 has already said he does not want to be known so will wait for the rest to PM me before I put out any names. All I say is this is the greatest site on the web which I knew that before today but what has taken place today just proves it. I can't thank everyone enough for their kind thoughts and generosity in helping a fellow member in need. I am humbled by all the acts of Kindness that has been shown to KASEY and I !!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Thank you Whisper for your kind offer. Let me tell folks where I am on this. One of the members has stepped up and is sending the money to cover the Vets bill of $170.00. What i trying to do now is get the Cremation covered. It is $210.00. Many of you have offered to help beginning with Hi Power so I don't know how to figure out who is planning on sending what. If ya'll that are planning on giving please send me a PM letting me know what you plan on sending and I will update so folks will know what is coming to me. I can't think of another way to do this. If anyone has abetter idea I am open to ideas!!!!!!
  13. It's kind of strange that you mentioned that. I have had a few friends that know me well along with family and they have said that they have never seen such a relationship between a man and his dog like there is between Kasey and I. They have mentioned a couple times that they fear if either one passes away they fear the other will go shortly after. I never gave that much thought until the time is near. 'Im kind of relieved a little in the fact that it will most likely be her so I can make sure she is cared for properly before and when the time comes. My daughter and Son In law said they will be with me and my son said he is going to be there also.
  14. I thank you for your kind words. When I got her I had to bottle feed her as a puppy because she had no mother and I actually rescued her from a from a very large wild Tom cat that was trying to kill her. Cat weighed about 20 lbs and I put a 22 bullet in the cats head and picked Kasey up and brought her inside and had to stop bleeding on her nose and ears and gave he a bath. She still had that smoke blue in her eyes. I called the vet and she said I would have to purchase some dog milk and bottle feed her so I went there and got 4 cans of dog milk and a they gave me a bottle to feed her with. From the time she went on hard food she ate what I ate. If I grilled Pork chops ahd had pork chops, If I grilled steak I grilled 2 steaks. Your gonna love this but of all the foods I ate and fed her she loved Deep fried Crappie or Shell cracker filets the best. Anyone that knows me and Kasey personally knows there was never a shortage of love from either side. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.
  15. I want to begin by saying how humbled I am to see how folks here are offering to step up and assist me in my needs pertaining to Kaseys final expenses. All my life I have prided myself in being as independent and standing on my own. Back when my little bait business was enabling me some extra income to supplement my Social Security income I was able to pu a little back. Since Kasey has been getting sick the vet bills have consumed what little I had saved. My bait business has slowed to almost non-existance in the last year or more causing me to depend on my monthly check to cover all expenses and anyone that lives on just a Social Security check knows after house expenses are covered there is very little left for food to get through the month. With that said if it was for me I would not accept any help and struggle through it. Because it is for Kasey and the short time I have to get this done I will accept any help that may be offered and it will be more than appreciated. I did call the Vet a few minutes ago and they said that the cost of their service to lay her down is $179.00 and the cremation is $210.00. I know that does not seem like a lot and back when bait business was good it would not be an issue. Now it is a major one with a short time to get it all done. I don't know what else to say except Thank you to all that can see your way clear to help. Doug aka Bersaguy
  16. I don't know how to reply to this. First off thank you for your offer to help as it means very much to me. As far as costs I do know how much the cremation and urn will be. I was going to asked the doctor was the charges would be for her services but when she came and got me to come back and look at the x-rays I forgot all about it. She showed me the growth that is affecting and enlarging her liver and putting pressure on her spleen. She said if her spleen were to rupture she would bleed to death internally almost imediately. I ask her if she thought she was in pain and she said she does not appear to be at present but that could change so she sent me some pain meds home with her and said if she begins to show any signs of discomfort to give her some and see if it help her to get comfortable. I do appreciate your offer HP but at present time I don't exactly know what the costs will be. I might be able to call and find that out but I am prepared to sell the Model 85 if I have to as I feel that should cover it. Guess I better call and find out cause yesterdays visit was $247.00 and all I had was $200.00 and my buddy that was with me loaned me the other $47.00.
  17. Thanks to all for the kind words. I am getting ready to sell my model 85 to a guy to cover all the expenses but I will not deny her anything but the best and I wanted to have her cremated so a part of her will be with me always as long as I am alive.
  18. Well, I guess after trip to vet today the news was not good. The vet took Xrays and she had a growth on her liver and even though she is not in any pain the vet sent pain meds home with me to make sure I can keep her comfortable. Blood tests will be back by Friday to confirm her prognosis. I refuse to allow Kasey to suffer at all and at her age the vet said she probably would not survive the surgery. I'm going to dedicate most of what little time I have left with her and feeding her everything she loves to eat. She is 17 years old and been my best friend all that time. I have decided to have her cremated and keep her with me as long as I am alive. For those of you that don't know Kasey her she is.
  19. Ok so that answers that and thanks guys. I ain't never been to Sin City and have no plans on going ever...............
  20. Ok I know this is not about the Bump stocks but I keep hearing on the news about how he got all that stuff up to the room. Is it not possible that because all huge casino's offer Bell Hops and customer service people to assist most high rollers with comp rooms to get all their bags to their rooms on the elevators without knowing what is in the bags they are taking to the room? Would that not explain the help he had getting all the stuff to his room?..............Just a question?
  21. Some idiot left winger from New York wants to actually do away with the Second Amendment completely instead of just Bump Stocks. Give them .05 Brain Cell functioning left wing politicians and inch and they demand a 1000 miles.......................
  22. Ok since I am not and never was familiar with Bump Stock items because for 1, I don't own an AR rifle of any type or caliber. What I do understand from what I have heard in the police briefings is that he had as many rifles with Bumpstocks and he did because that stock would cause a problem with guns getting to hot and malfuctioning or jaming and as they did he would discard it and get another one and start shooting again. I think I heard that they found at least 12 rifles that had malfuctioned and had jammed. Can anyone here explain if that does sound reasonable that has maybe used one of these and did experience this type of issue?....................
  23. Nice grouping for sure. Probably a lot better than I would do right now. I do need to get back to the range soon...............
  24. Probably whole hand.................
  25. There have been rumors that Justice Thomas is looking at retirement. Let us hope he does so while Trump is President and maybe he can talk Gingsberg into leaving with him but that is probably a slim hope...........JMHO
