  1. I have little doubt we the American People will ever get the truth about this and it is not even in the news any longer. What is going on in DC is taking up every spare minute is all the news medias period. I have no doubt they are still investigating it but not as news worthy as DC news....JMHO
  2. I use to hunt witha guy that made his own bullets for his muzzle loader and I got to see his bullets in action one day. He was a rather big guy and he laoded the powder laod to the max that hsi Charles Hawkins would safely accept and his bullets. We where hunting the Islands on Percy Priest and had to get to them by boat. We were in stands about 30 yards apart and I saw a large doe coming and it would have to pass him to get to me. I was watching and he raised up his loader and took aim. The deer was facing right at me when he fired. I'm not exaggerting, when that bullet made contact with the deer is knocked the deer about 5 feet straight sideways. When we got to the deer I said slight over killed there Steve and he said yea kinda. He destroyed both front shoulders and damn near ripped the doe in half. He showed me his bullets and I took one and I could roll the lead off the bullet with my finger nail. He was shooting almost pure lead bullets. After that I think he began adding some other type of material to harden the bullets up a little. I hunted with his a cople more times and his bullets were not doing as much damage to any more deer.
  3. Yea, I have never owned a 243 but I used to hunt with a buddy back years ago that used Remington 243 Semi Auto and he bagged a lot of deer with it. he seldom had to track one. The deer usually went down in just a few yards but he never shot at one more than 200 yards. He said the gun can reach out a lot farther and still be pretty accurate but was always concerned about the impact at over 200 and was concerned about just wounding one. When I will be hunting a 100 yard shot will be about the max because of all the thick brush surrounding the deer plots my grand sons made several years ago and all the ladder stands are about 60 to 70 yards from the plots. I need to get out and sight it in and see how close it is to plum on. Might try and do that this weekend at Son in laws house. He doesn't hunt so won't worry about bothering any Muzzle Loader hunters down on my sons place. My youngest 11 year old grandson didn't get one during Juvenile hunt last weekend. Got a shot at one but it broke and ran just about the time he fired. He checked to make sure there was no blood so he thinks it was a clean miss. He is going to try Muzzle loader this weekend with his oldest brother Logan is a small framed youngster so he will be using his dads Knight Rifle and first few times he practiced with it he was rocked a little backwards so he has been told to make double sure he is tied in stand before shooting it.....................
  4. Tommy is definately a Keeper son in law. Has been married to my daughter since 1995 after she came out of a very abusive marriage with 3 young children and he has been the greatest thing that could have ever happened to my daughter, grandchildren and now Great grand children. We use to fish a lot together out of my SKeeter Bass boat and I can still remember the first time I let him drive and taught him about how to trim and read the graphs. The day I remember more was the day he came by and asked if I wanted to go fishing and I was not feeling well and I told him to take the Skeeter and go. His face lit up like a street light and he said are you sure and I said yup! He called a buddy of his and ask him if he wanted to go fishing and they went. Before I get to far ahead he had driven the boat quite a bit before that day with me in it so I did not just turn him loose with one time behind the wheel. He comes and gets it any time he wants to use it now which because of his work is not much but Yea!!!! I do have a great son in law!!!! He called me the other day all excited to tell me his boss gave him a bonus and he just paid their house off. And bought me a rifle!!
  5. I have only one gun that is close to my heart and thanks to many folks here I was not forced to part with it but would have for sure to do what needed to be done. My model 85 Bersa I have. It came from my friend of 30+ years, BT. He passed away last February while fishing on Dale Hollow Lake. He came for coffee and a biscuit about every other morning here for the past 10+ years and he always scratch and loved on Kasey when he was here and she looked forward to his coming by. She learned what days he would be coming by and she would lay in the carport waiting for him. For about a week after he died she bgan laying in the parking area where she could see the driveway better and I guess she did that for a month and finally realized he was not coming by any more. That 380 will be going to my son Ronnie when I am gone.
  6. Once I get it completed I will let you know if there is any in it..........
  7. Pictures!!!
  8. Sounds like another Sam Walton. He would walk into one of his Walmart stores and buy something and walk to check out and pay for it and it was very seldom any clerk that checked him out new who he was. He also drove an old Chevy pickup truck.............
  9. It was an honor to meet wade195(Doug) today. He is very much a gentleman a pleasure to talk with. We had a short but nice visit. It's always nice to be able to meet another TGO member and get to shake their hand. My Son In Law saw me looking at the Ruger rifle the other day and asked me if I was planning on doing some deer hunting and I said I don't own a deer rifle so guess not and he said would you go if you had one and I said I might go down to Ronnies (my sons place) cause he has about 4 nice ladder stands up and about an hour later my Tommy(SNL) came back and a laid the funds down for me to buy the rifle and told me Merry Christmas. So Doug was nice enough to bring it to me today and I am now the proud owner of a great 243 and enough ammo to hunt with................
  10. Well since winter is not a good time for fishing bait orders so I will still probably sort it out and see what I come up with and it will still be free once I get it done.
  11. To begin with this was an indoor range so won't be no rifle brass. Also I don't plan on selling the brass. once I get it sorted out I am going to give it to anyone here on TGO that wants to reload it since I don't reload but hate to see it go to waste if someone can use it. Also is there anyone here that reloads 380 Caliber ammo?
  12. This is my new wall paper when I turn computer on!
  13. Well Kasey is back home. Vet called yesterday to tell me she had been returned and was ready for pick up. I went right then and got her. This time she got to ride in the front seat of the Jeep!!!!
  14. I have a bunch of assorted brass that came from a range here in town that closed up. I have probably almsot two 5 gallon pails of it and I am thinking about sitting down in spare time and going through the pails and seperating out all the different calibers into different cans. Now with that said, are there any calibers that would be wanted more than another for reloading. I figure it will give me something to do this winter when I get bored. I know the 22caliber is junk but just looking to find out what might be the more popular calibers..............

Not me, those Formula 1 cars remind me of Coffins on wheels..........JMHO
  16. I guess since they knew who he was, the only way to stay alive was to turn himself in. He was lucky to escape the chase without getting shot that time. I hope he gets the needle. He deserves nothing less.........JMHO

Well I guess I have been a NASCAR fan as long as I can remember but I am slowly beginning to have issues with it as NASCAR in constantly playing games with cars, car owners and drivers. They have made so many new rules it is almost impossible for everyone involved in just 1 race car team to know and remember. I also don't like the 3 stage race programs. When I watch a race the only time I want it stopped is in case of a wreck. And this new 5 minute clock on working on a wrecked car before it is done for the day sucks too. I still watch it because I like to watch Kyle Busch race. He reminds me of the old Dale in a lot of his driving ways. Of course NASCAR has stopped a lot of that also. Back when Kyle first came to NASCAR if you were not as fast as he was and you tried to block him to keep him from passing you he would do the DALE on them and put a bumper to them. Do that today and you will get black flagged. Yea, a year or two more of that bull and I will quit watching them along with football .

I turned wrenches professionally for 35 years and was finally forced out by my doctor after my seventh hernia surgery and had all the mesh put in so turned the shop and business over to my son which is also an ASE Master techincian today. When I left the business after managing it for a couple years I told him it was his baby now and I gave him 2 three tear SnapOn boxes with side boxes hanging on each side filled with nothing but snap on tools. I had my Snap-On tool man give me a rough estimate about the value of the tools and boxes for insurance purposes and it tok him a week or two until he got back to me. Over the 35 years turning wrenches I had accumulated $197,000.00 dollars in tools and boxes and since then my son has spent almost 40 grand more just buying scanners and all the high tech stuff needed to work on this late model junk they build today. He specializes in Transmission rebuilds but they do about everything from the smallest repairs to replacing engines.

Back a year before Dale Earhart sr. was killed my son purchased a Mac brand Dale Earhart top of the line Tool box with the Stereo built in as he was a die hard Dale Fan. Right after Dale died he went back to using my old Snap On boxes that I used for 30+ years and purchased a nice Mac Cover for the Earnhart box and now it sits in his den in his house. He has had several really nice offers from folks wanting to buy it but he just smiles and politely says "it's not for sale"
  21. I am not expecting a lot out of this! When you see the sections that is asking for donations that almost automatically says they don't have funding for a nation wide protest much less any major local ones. Also these folks have to remember it was Americans that voted Trump/Pence into office and now trying to find enough to remove them is going to be many times harder...........JMHO
  22. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It often makes me wonder what people are thinking or should I say not thinking about when most people know what society is like this day in time and will put themselves out there just to get injured or killed!
  23. I had a frend that was trying to buy a Harley froma person on Craigs list and all he got for his Harley purchase was robbed at gun point in a mall parking lo full of people and the bad guy left on the Harley my buddy went to buy. I avoid Craigslist like the Plague............
  24. This deal was in a public place all lit up and I would guess there was other people in the area. It was at a Drive in market on a fairly busy highway/ street. I think his mistake was going alone and with buying a vehicle there was probably a large sum of money involved..........JMHO
  25. Thats back when Rock N Roll was real music.............
