  1. very nice , i love mine .  very fun dmr and cheap to feed .
  2. i cant wait to leave ny state in my rearview ,  but i do love how people get creative in the face of ridiculous laws .
  3. just a little news from ny , http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/09/23/fed-up-ny-man-sets-up-hidden-camera-to-find-out-who-was-repeatedly-stealing-his-pro-gun-sign-what-he-discovered-blew-him-away/   and how it all started (its from another forum i am on) http://www.nyfirearms.com/forums/laws-politics/60634-so-remember-my-repeal-safe-act-sign-issue.html
  4. just about every county has passed resolution against the "safe act "(i am in st.lawrence  for at least a few more weeks) i dont know a single person who supports the safe act . i have however been reminded about the new laws countless times by leo's at the range.
  5. nice shooting ! i like your target setup
  6. it would seem i will be looking the most east of nashville,i have already done quite a few applications . i am really a quiet person and dont like to venture into the very populated areas any more then i have to  lol. most of my free time is spent working with my father ,out in the woods ,spending quality time with the family or tinkering with guns ,cars, trucks or bikes . i am really hopeing to hear back about something soon so i can load up the family and my "evil guns" before the deadline to register them with the state or neuter them .    but thanks again for all the responses everyone , i feel alot better about looking into the east now .
  7. well as far as past work and and experiences ,i have worked on a number of different jobs from farm work (corn /wheat/ dairy/beef) i have done soldering on a assembly line ,i ran a sealcoating and line striping road crew, i was just laid off from working on a landscaping crew ,i have worked in grocery stores, lol pumped gas on the indian reservation ,i have spent years assisting my father who is a blade smith,  and the list goes on . i have a perfect driving record (no special licenses though other then the motorcycle license ) i dont have any current certs but i used to have one for security in pa ,also the soldering ,and i had one to operate fork truck .    other then that just a desire to work my a** off for a living and i try to always keep positive ,and i am always respectful .        i havent heard about that new law but i will just have to trust you  ,i would provide all the ammo just to see some of those fancy nfa items in person (in case you don't know there is no nfa items for any one in ny state ,just getting a permit to own a pistol is a lot harder and longer and sometimes much more expensive then it seems it is to get nfa items down there )     i really do appreciate the feedback
  8. thanks  for the input everyone! and just so you guys know "the way we do it in ny "is one of the reasons i am done with this state . i just want to work ,raise my family in a state that treats me like a citizen and not a subject. sounds like i will probably take a drive to central tennessee and i will work my way to the east . thanks again ! this whole escape from ny thing is a bit overwhelming so its nice to get a little first hand knowledge before i just jump in the car and start heading town to town .
  9. as i posted in my introduction i am planning to move to tennessee ,what area has yet to be determined though . finding work is the biggest thing i am worried about  (there is really no work where i am now) so i need to find an area that has some work available ,i don't really have a career path yet but i have worked a wide range of different jobs ,and have lots of references . mostly i am just wondering what the job market is like in the different areas  for laborer and entry level jobs ?  i have been doing internet researching but i figure it never hurts to ask the people who live there.   another consideration is i will not be moving into a main city ,i would prefer to find a place to rent outside of a smaller city( i have been looking in tri-city area) so any info or opinions about where to zero in on would help . i am planning to make a drive down in a week or two to check a few areas out and apply for work with anywhere i see thats hiring , so i am trying to get a good idea of what areas i will be stopping in . like i said any info or opinions to think about would help .
  10. hahaha ... thats fine ,precautionary measures to ensure the integrity of the state lol. of course the weiner would have to stay up here .    i would not mind waiting 6 months and $200 spent for quiet ,  i would be excited just to be able to unpin my stock lol and not having to spend a year or more trying to get a permit just to buy and own a pistol  cant wait to leave lol
  11. nice buy! i love my k31
  12. thanks for the welcome guys , it is beautiful country up here but there is almost no jobs available ,they tax the hell out of you ,my area (right on the boarder) has a extreme problem with drugs and crime . i just recently got laid off due to there being no work to do up here so i feel like i should just get my family out of here while i can .   i was doing landscaping but i have worked a lot of different jobs from working in a grocery  store, detailing, soldering , farm work , working in a forge , sealcoating and ect .the big thing is finding work ,i don't really have a career path yet but i prefer to work outdoors and i love hard labor lol(makes me sleep good at night).at this point i will work any job that would hire me. i was thinking east tennessee maybe , nothings for sure yet ,other then the fact that i am leaving this state even if i have to just get in my car and drive down and find a place to rent  and a place to work . not to mention this next year is the deadline for the "aw registration "  and all that other nonsense . how does it feel to live in a state that trusts you with more then 7 rounds in a mag? lol
  13. found this site while checking out places to move to in tennessee so i thought i would join up . as it says in the title i am unfortunately living in upstate ny at the moment ( just about as far north as you can get in ny )but i have decided to get out of this state .  i have a small collection of rifles that keeps growing , and i try to get out to the range with the wife at least once a week . in any case i am happy to be here and hopefully learn a bit about tennessee prior to a move .
