Gatorade is another, they still sell the 32oz one, but they have one that looks like it but I think it is 24oz. It is the same price.
-
They are heavier, but 45acp in such a small package, imo, that isn't such a bad thing if you are actually shooting it.

Another vote for the wft, I have the original in .223, and the wft2 in 6.8spc, and .308. They say you can get it to debur by turning the case backwards, but I haven't been able to get satisfactory results doing that, so I just debur and chamfer in a prep center afterward. It is still pretty fast doing it that way.

I have a P07 Duty in 9mm, I also have a 92A1, and a sig MK25 and some others. I like them all but I just seem to grab the CZ more often, funny it was the cheaper one of the bunch as well. Knowing what I know now, I would pay more for this one if I didn't already have one.

What press should I buy for my brother in law?
tmauto769 replied to MrBrian's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
While I never used the lee turret press, I did have the lee loadmaster progressive, and it was pure junk. I had nothing but headaches with that thing. I picked up a Hornady LNL, and haven't looked back. Of your choices I would go with the rock crusher. I have one I use for certain rifle loads, and you just can't beat that press for durability. -
I recently picked up one of these http://www.hera-arms.com/!irs-keymod/c1ksk# very nice, made in germany. Well it wouldn't link directly to the page for the rail, but it is the irs keymod I have a troy, UTG pro, and a MI. The Hera rail is my favorite out of all of them, easily the lightest of the bunch.

Do these take M9/92 Beretta mags by any chance?
-
no it wasn't you, I met you guys up there once before. (not denying you can do it though) I think the guy replied above, his screen name is BJB

And I think this is the man I was speaking about above.

Tac is my favorite powder, but I tried a pound of AR-comp and really liked it as well.
-
another vote for a linear comp. I put one on my 6.8 it works rather well. Everyone beside me at the range seems to think so as well ;). I got one in OD green to match all the other doo-dads in od green on that particular rifle for pretty cheap.

There are two guys that frequent the norris range, that hit clay pigeons on the berm at the "100yd" mark (my range finder says 112yds) with 9mm so I would be careful with that bet.
-
Seriously? $7/50 9mm is that brass? That is $140/1000 It is costing me around $150 to reload 1000 9mm picking up my own brass. I think I am wasting my time now.

Unless she is a bigger girl, most compacts are "normal" size for most women. That wasn't meant as an insult just some food for thought. I went through this with my wife, she is small. She had a real hard time racking the slide on a sr9c, so I sold it and she ended up with a 92fs compact. That particular "compact" is far from compact, but she liked my 92a1 so much, I figured that would be the next best thing. She absolutely loves it.

Frankford Arsenal Case Trimmer and Prep Center
tmauto769 replied to TNMTBik3r's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Never used the Giraud, but the wft is by far the fastest trimmer of all the ones you attach to a drill. i thought it was a little expensive until I used it the first time. You say that one indexes off the shoulder that should be pretty fast as well. -
And that is why I use the FCD, much less hassle in setting it up. It seemed like my oal was more inconsistent when crimping using the seating die also.
-
I picked up a used cz75 p07 duty from buds for $375, I have been shooting that thing more than my 92's lately. Great gun for the money. It is the polymer version, has a pretty good trigger for a gun in this price range, accurate as the 92's as well.

Opinions on Hornady Lock-N-Load AP
tmauto769 replied to 2006Blackpearl931's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
i didn't get the bullet feeder, but I did get the bullet feed die and the tube, I will say don't waste your money on it. I would get about a 50% bullet drop out of it. The other 50% I would just put it in there manually, so I finally just did away with it and moved the seater die there and went back to a lee factory crimp in the last station. The case feeder has some issues as well, such as cases sometimes get behind the plate and knock it off the spindle. I am going to drill and thread the shaft so I can put a bolt on it to keep it down. I do like the case feeder when it works though. Seems like Hornady would have done something to lock the plates down though. -
Bucket of .223 @ Acadamy in Knoxville
tmauto769 replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I just deleted a pic off my phone from last year, that same barrel of 5.56 was $6k. Unreal how crazy it can get sometimes. -
Their prices must change daily, I was in there on friday and picked up 2 100 rd boxes of mini mags for 9.99 each. They did have something called cci "green label" in 100rd boxes for $16.99. Never heard of these, they must be plated in platinum or something.

I have 4 of them, 3 standard black 1 green tiger stripped one. no complaints at all on the black ones, but the tiger stripped one has absolutely no anodizing or coating at all on the inside of the lower or upper. Just bare aluminum. I built a 6.8 out of that one and it doesn't get shot much so it shouldn't be a big deal, but I would have thought they should have coated it with something. It sure is purdy on the outside though.
-
Also the powder through expander die is typically used in some turret or progressive press. My hornady LnL AP uses a seperate expander and powder drop station. I guess you could use it in a single stage, but that seems like a pain in the butt to me.
-
yes you will have to re-zero, but it will be real close. I have done this before as well, and it was just a couple of clicks off.

Looks like my Tactical is going back. Maybe they will make the trigger better, as the xmp is kind of junky imo. Thanks for the heads up on this, I hadn't heard anything about it.
