1. Shoot, top shelf for me is the $600 dollar model. That model you linked looks way to fancy for this guy. I'm guessing the 22 conversion is very similar to the kadet variant for the CZ's. As I mentioned, I was originally looking for a CZ with the thought of picked up a kadet for it down the line. I like that the Witness provides the same option of easy caliber conversions. I have read really good things about kadet accuracy and hopefully the witness conversion produces similar results.            While I do enjoy my ribeye's and filet's, a hamburger steak has it's place too. I'm hoping the Witness turns out like one of them fancy Kobe beef hamburger steaks!
2. I am far from "very pro." The model I am looking at, the Witness Elite Match which sales for just shy of $600. It is SAO with adjustable trigger and sights, features a match grade barrel and is "tuned" by the Tanfoglio custom shop. It hold either 17+1 or 18+1 (I have seen mixed reviews on how many rounds the mag will hold). It is my understanding that Tanfoglio makes conversion kits for this gun from 22 to 10mm for around $250 per. One downside is that I believe it only comes with one mag so figure another $50 to purchase two additional magazines. Here is a pretty good review with photos: http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/other-handguns/38472-my-new-gun-eaa-witness-elite-match-pics.html
3. I have been looking for a CZ SP01 for a couple months now without much luck. Recently, I came across the Tanfoglio Witness Match 9mm. Essentially, the Tanfoglio is a CZ clone imported by EAA. From what I read, the new model Tanfoglios, and particularly the custom tuned Match variants, are excellent shooters and many folks prefer them over their CZ counterparts. The intended use of the gun would be for accurate plinking/target and optimistically eventual use in 3gun/USPSA. I am looking for an accurate, all metal framed 9mm. I do not plan on ever carrying the weapon. Does anyone have experience with Tanfoglio, particularly the Witness Match model?
4. This is good news. An AR-10 style rifle is on my list for 2014 and I have been very pleased with multiple builds from PSA.
5. Updated first post with pic of final build.
6. Building my brother his first AR Christmas morning, a Stag.
7. Emailed Taccon inquiring about the "End of 2013" ship date. I gave my order number and asked when my order would ship. I ordered Dec 1 I think. I got the below general response. I assume this means they will ship sometime 2014. "Tac-Conâ„¢ 3MR Trigger shipments to begin at the end of December 2013. We will be sending out a large number of orders in the beginning of 2014. Orders Customer Service Tac-Conâ„¢" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
8. You are doing better then me. I have the following orders:   11/26/13 P-Tac Upper "Processing" 11/26/13 P-Tac Lower Build Kit "Processing" 11/29/13 P-Tac Lower Build Kit, moe (For Stag build) "Processing" 11/29/13 Blemished Lower "Processing"
9. I am hoping to make it buy at some point.
10. Two weeks now and my order is still processing. PSA's website says to allow 5 business days for shipping at one place and up to 10 business days for shipping at another place.  I'm sure it will get here eventually. It's a bit frustrating though.    The upper from Stag's website I got in their black friday sale is going on a stag lower I bought for my brother last year. The upper is set to get here today so at least I will have that one done by Christmas.
11. Good looking rifle. I really like the 14.5's.
12. My girlfriend's brother was visiting from out of town this weekend and we brewed up a quick English Brown Ale. Racked to a 5 gallon carboy Saturday evening and by sunday morning the airlock blew off. Definitely have some active fermentation.  I ran a blow off tube and will likely replace with a standard airlock this evening. I'm hoping to turn this around as quick as possible and have it bottled for when I see him again over Christmas.
13. My order is still "Processing" with PSA. I also purchased a Stag Complete upper for another build during Stag's midnight sale on Thanksgiving day. It hasn't shipped either.  PSA is normally slow with shipping. Hopefully it ships out this week.    I ordered the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, 11/26.
14. I gave in and pre-ordered one a couple days ago. Pretty nifty looking triggers.
15. I am considering putting a red dot on a shotgun for waterfowl this year. Has anyone tried using a red dot for hunting, particularly waterfowl or may some skeet during 3 gun? My plan is to throw in on a backup gun and try it out but would appreciate input from anyone with experience.    I know red dots are gaining popularity among turkey hunters and 3gun, but I haven't read too much about duck and goose hunting. The gun I would likely be putting this on is a Benelli Super Black Eagle.
16. Couple of post on this already.
17. I pre-ordered directly from TacCon, with a shipping date of. . . "Tac-Conâ„¢ 3MR Trigger shipments to begin end of 2013 or beginning of 2014."   The way I understand it based on what I have read on other threads is that in "Mode 3", "when the carrier slams forward, it acts on the trigger, pushing it forward against your finger with more force than the springs alone. It would then disengage from the trigger as the bolt locks up, thus reducing the trigger pull to its normal weight. Keep steady pressure on the trigger, and it will simulate full-auto." They claim a fire rate of 650 rounds per minute but the videos I have seen appear to be quite a bit slower.    While it is certainly over priced based on cost of manufacture and raw materials, when you consider the price of an actual class 3 full auto is closer to 25,000, I'm willing to be a guinea pig to try one. I suppose it makes at least as much sense as spending the money on a 5th AR or AK.
18. I do not need another AR. Ha. Just kidding. Of course I need another AR and I couldn't pass up this deal. All purchased from Palmetto State Armory: $49.99 Blemished PSA Lower $69.99 PTac Lower Build Kit w/Blackhawk Stock $279.99 PTac 16 M4 1:9 Complete Upper w/M16 Bolt Carrier Grand Total: $399.97. I will update with Pic's once everything shows up and I put it together. I couldn't be happier with this price given the past year. It will be my 4th AR and certainly the cheapest. I have plenty of mags and will top it with either a carry handle or a red dot from the parts bin. Once I figure in Shipping and FFL Transfer, my total cost is going to be around $460. Not bad for a quality AR. My only real gripe is that the barrel isn't chrome lined. Update 12/16/03: Upper ordered 11/26 finally shipped this morning so it should be here by the end of the week. Already have the lower build kit. Still waiting on the blemished upper ordered 11/29. Update 12/21/13: Upper arrived earlier this week and lower showed up at FFL on Thursday. Went to pick it up and sent of TICS . . . it didn't come back until Friday afternoon. At any rate, I inspected the blemished lower and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Likewise the PTAC upper and bolt both look good; I can't tell a difference between the PTAC and the premium PSA upper I have. Update 01/11/14: Finally got everything put together, but have yet to shoot it. I was unable to find anything I would consider a defect with the lower. The lower build kit went together without any problems. I would consider it on par with any other lower build kit. Trigger is fairly gritty and feels heavy but nothing out of the ordinary for a stock trigger. I am also very satisfied with the PTAC upper. Again, it seems on par with a PSA premium upper. I added a Stag A3 carry handle and a Magpul grip that I had laying around. For under $500 including transfer, tax and shipping, I am very pleased with how this build turned out.
19. Looking good guys. We should get a group of TGOers to do a homebrew trade one of these days.
20. Just found out my Xbox One is delayed so I went ahead and grabbed BF4 for the Xbox 360. Gamertag is DangerDanJD and I do not plan on doing well for at least a few days until I figure out the new maps!
21. I have no experience with the Whitetail and if Graycrait has used one next to the mueller and prefers the Whitetail, I'm sure there is a reason. Some of the comments on the midway site claim that the Whitetail was originally made in the Philippines but that all the new ones are in fact made in China, which might explain why the one graycrait has is so nice. Again, I have no firsthand knowledge, but it might be something you wanna research a bit if you go with the Whitetail.
22. I also recommend the Mueller. I have a 4.5-14 APT which has adjustable objective and tactical turrets. They run around 130ish I believe. I have it on a savage bolt action 22 and have been very pleased. I think it is a good buy for the price and works great from 20 feet to well over 100 yards.
23. I owned one for about three years and then upgraded to a ruger single six. The heritage I owned had failure to fire problems with all types of ammo. I wouldn't expect all heritage's to have this problem, but mine did. The heritage and ruger were both petty similar with respect to accuracy. Sold the Heritage for $200 and paid $350 for the single six. I feel both were a fair value. I wouldn't have any problem buying another heritage. It really just depends how much you want to spend.
24. I recently picked up a bull barreled model 10/22 with the ruger "Target" trigger and it is surprisingly horrible. I didn't expect it to be great, but I cannot imagine how the stock trigger could be much worse.  It feels heavier than the the basic trigger that came in a lower parts kit from PSA on my beater AR.     At any rate, I am considering the VQ hammer and sear for about $70, but am leaning towards either the Kidd single stage at $200 or two state at $300 as I suspect I will end up with one of the Kidd's eventually.
25.   Good luck with the all grain. Did you move from extracts or will your first beer be an all grain batch? Let us know how it goes.
