  1. Here is the video of the hearing of HB42 in committee.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Hop94ISKoPs   The legislators who voted against it need to hear from you. Rep. Jim Coley, Chair (615) 741-8201, rep.jim.coley@capitol.tn.gov ... Rep. Vance Dennis (615) 741-2190, rep.vance.dennis@capitol.tn.gov Rep. Andrew Farmer (615) 741-4419, rep.andrew.farmer@capitol.tn.gov Rep. Sherry Jones (615) 741-2035, rep.sherry.jones@capitol.tn.gov Rep. Mike Stewart (615) 741-2184, rep.mike.stewart@capitol.tn.gov Rep. 2.   Interesting.   Now this raises more confusion for me.   If you pass a NICS/TBI background check already for local FFL purchases up to a 50 BMG, why the heck would a CLEO deny and not sign?   Just curious what grounds they would deny a person for if you already pass a 4473 NICS/TBI or whichever it is.
  3.   Nope. No felonies, no warrants, etc. I legally buy all my guns through FFL dealers.   I was just asking because I was confused what role the CLEO is playing in all these hoops we have to go through to get a Suppressor or SBR.   So you're saying all the CLEO sign for is to be aware or allow these special class weapons and accessories in his jurisdiction and they do no background check or any other character investigation?
  4. All I got to say is they better pick the jury right or he's screwed.   You go out of here and on other forums not related to guns and listen to how folks view this case and you'll see what I mean.   It's all about race and guns are bad to half of America.
  5. I don't understand this whole signature thing. Does the CLEO do another background check on you or something? How do they judge you otherwise?   If you pass a background check already for gun, I don't get why we need to go through this BS.   Looking to get a can for my Mega Maten 308 build, so any help is appreciated.
  6. But but but... what will Joe Biden tell you to fire in the air to scare off the bad guys now?
  7. Sorry to hear of his. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts.   Fwiw, It's been an odd year for me already. I've been to two funerals this year and a church friend of my wife's is in the hospital. One local forum buddy was also down in the hospital.   http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/chrisbell1/mystory   http://streetntrack.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=449
  8. Nice!
  9. How do you like that bi-pod? Have cant-lock or doesn't cant at all? We might have to do a competition to compare your Colt LE901 to my SIG 716 since they're similar. Same ammo, same day. That would be fun.
  10. BTW, have you seen the new BEAST? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPSFfk9BJ7w http://nightforceoptics.com/beast/ I'm looking in to that and the Leupold Mark 8 3-25x56 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5vOrOBmw00 http://www.leupold.com/tactical/scopes/mark-8-riflescopes/mark-8-3-5-25x56mm-m5b2-front-focal/
  11. Nice setup! I've been eye-ballin' these for a while. Might add one to the collection soon.
  12. Added a better pic with the Sig 716 in the background.
  13. Yeah, I knew it would pump after pulling the trigger. My complaint is the position of the button and this stock makes it weird to actually get your thumb over there to depress it when you want to rack a round from the tube (first round to chamber). I had one of these when I was 18 years old up to about 25 and that was before it was called a M590A1; back then it was just called a 590 9 shot with ghost ring sights.
  14. I had one of these too except it was a 8 shot (pictured is low cap tube) and will get another soon: http://www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli-m3.php
  15. Yeah, my old 9 shot 590 was like this one: http://www.mossberg.com/product/shotguns-pump-action-590a1-special-purpose-590a1-6-shot-9-shot/51663
  16. Ehh, I handled it some more tonight and it doesn't feel as awkward as it first did. guess it just takes some getting used to. Still wish that pump button thingy was on the right side, though.
  17. My old one was just like this but with regular stock and minus the rails on the pump.   I swear I remember the button to allow the gun to pump (to load first round or play with it unloaded) was up on the front right side of the trigger guard. This one has the button on the back left side and that makes it difficult to reach with my thumb really.   Anyway...   Now I need to replace the Benelli M3 Super 90 convertible (8 shot) with ghost ring sights I had. Should have kept them all!
  18. Picked up the Mossberg 590A1 today. After playing with it a bit, I'm not sure I like this 6 POS adjustable stock and pistol grip. I remember my old 590 with regular stock being more comfy. It just feels awkward, but I'll hold final judgment until after I actually fire it at the range. Excuse the dirty gun, it is right out of the box new. Edit: Better cell pic of the M590A1

    New Sig 716

Finally got my 500rds Federal Lake City ammo! I'm sure it won't last.
  21. At the prices I've seen some places, $30 for in stock mags is a steal! CTD was asking $99 a mag.... Gun broker, heh, you get the picture.
  22. Hope this doesn't prolong my order. I've had 30 Magpul 7.62x51 Pmags on order since before Christmas. :\
  23. Caught this on FB and thought I'd share: http://www.mossberg.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=100008&reference=/cgi-bin/commerce.exe%3Fsearch%3Daction%26keywords%3D%26searchstart%3D20%26template%3DPDGCommTemplates\BW-Center\SearchResult.html%26category%3DSIGH
  24. I never needed a state or federal gun education course to properly and safely handle firearms. So.. I'm not for mandatory gun education to own firearms because that could turn in to licensing and other restrictions. I would be for donating to private organizations like the NRA for free voluntary gun safety or training courses, so anyone who didn't have a parent teach them could then get some knowledge. But I do not want the government involved in it at all because the next thing you know you'll have to get licensed and insured like you do with cars and then they would make a RIGHT nothing more than a restricted privilege. Trust me, it would happen.
